Why we need you

We’re recruiting a Service Manager for our Financial Resilience Navigators project and Home Visiting Team. This role will sit within our Management Team and we expect the successful candidate will divide their time roughly equally between the two projects.

As well as contributing to the leadership of the organisation, the key responsibilities of the role include:

• Leading and supporting teams of staff and volunteers, ensuring they are equipped, trained, and motivated to deliver effective, high-quality client-centred services.
• Managing and supervising support and advice projects across multiple channels (in-person, outreach, home visiting, online, telephone), ensuring services are accessible to vulnerable client groups.
• Managing relationships with commissioners and funders, ensuring we meet our contractual obligations and can demonstrate this to our funders.
• Leading in building and maintaining positive, collaborative partnerships with statutory, voluntary, and community sector agencies and teams.
• Providing direct advice and ongoing support to clients, maintaining a caseload where appropriate, particularly in complex or high-priority situations.

This role might suit applicants wwith experience of giving advice and supervising advice services, but it also offers opportunities to develop skills and knowledge around Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning, as the Financial Resilience Navigators project is a pilot that will be externally evaluated.

About The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join and lead a driven team of Volunteering Partners. The Volunteering Partnerships and Implementation team strive to inspire, support and enable a quality offer and experience for volunteers and volunteer managers. You will lead all aspects of charity financial and resource management for two separate but closely connected charities, the Army Cadet Charitable Trust UK (ACCT UK) and the Combined Cadet Force Association (CCFA), which are supported by a single head office team. We are looking for someone to bring enthusiasm, personal credibility, discretion and sensitivity. You will be ultimately responsible for Finance and Resource Management within the charities.
You will work directly with the trustees of both charities and the wider Senior Leadership Team (SLT) which comprises of the Director of Development, the Deputy Chief Executive (DCE) (Director of HR and Programmes), and the Chief Executive. You will have primary responsibility for ensuring that the charities meet their statutory obligations, that financial functions are well ordered and support the work of the charities.

You will work closely with staff at all levels, often having to mentor the charities’ managers to help them plan and manage their own budgets.

• To assist with the administration associated with the RSTMH Early Career Grants programme, which includes analysing key data and helping produce reports for the team, our Committees and donors.
• Taking a role in the processes to select grant awardees including helping perform due diligence on the potential awardees

• To support on the website by uploading and editing content through the CMS
• To help create and send the fortnightly member newsletter and the monthly non-member newsletter
• To support the Communications Manager in creating content to be shared across RSTMH communications channels

What will I be doing?

• Distributing and scanning of daily incoming post to relevant staff members 

• Creating and allocating new Legacy cases to the Legacy Case Management Team 

• Creating new solicitor records on the website and CRM system, and informing Finance Team 

• Reconciling and inputting income data (cheques and bank transfers) received by the Legacy team

• Responding to queries from all Legacy audiences, via email and telephone 

• Maintain data quality - merging records and other data processing tasks as required (First Class and Siebel) 

• Raising Purchase Orders and raising invoices when required 

• Building and maintaining excellent knowledge of Cancer Research UK's Will-Writing Services, Case Administration and associated systems and processes 

• Supporting project work relating to Legacy operations, by sharing knowledge of internal processes  

• Responsible for monitoring and ordering materials, maintaining and tracking stock levels as required, ensuring key internal stakeholders are informed.
