Key Responsibilities
- Raise significant income from high-net-worth individuals, personally cultivating a portfolio of major donors and securing six-figure+ gifts in support of capital, core, and scientific projects.
- Develop and deliver compelling cases for support, working cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to align fundraising opportunities with donor interests and organisational priorities.
- Plan and implement tailored cultivation and solicitation strategies, leveraging senior stakeholders and leadership where appropriate to maximise donor engagement and giving potential.

Person Specification

Purpose
The Philanthropy Leads, reporting to the Head of Philanthropy, are responsible for inspiring new prospective, cultivating and stewarding high-value donors into greater involvement with Christians Against Poverty. Along with seeking direct support for the organisation Christians Against Poverty, there is also an expectation for the postholders to support the raising of funds for the wider movement, particularly for local Church frontline partners.

Responsibilities
- Strategic Implementation & Fundraising
- Implementation of a strategic plan to significantly increase major donor income, with a target of 17.5% of overall revenue within 3 years.
- Implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy for major donor income, aligned with CAP's overall strategic priorities.
- Execution of market research and competitor analysis to identify new funding opportunities and best practice in Philanthropic fundraising.
- Build strong relationships with key internal stakeholders, in order to identify points of engagement and draft appropriate funding bids.
- Represent CAP at high-level events and conferences to build relationships with potential donors and partners.
Major Donor Development
- Manage a designated caseload of high-net-worth individuals or trusts, cultivating deep and meaningful relationships.
- Conduct face-to-face meetings, personalised communications, and bespoke stewardship plans to cultivate and steward major donors.
- Develop compelling restricted funding projects to attract major donor investment.
- Implement a donor recognition program to acknowledge and celebrate major donor support.
Philanthropy Team Membership
- A member of the Philanthropy Team of our Mission and Movement Directorate.
- Providing peer support and development with other members of the Philanthropy Team, fostering a high-performing and collaborative environment.
- Work with the Head of Philanthropy to set ambitious targets and KPIs for the postholder, ensuring they are aligned with overall fundraising goals.
- Ensure the timely submission of funding applications and effective stewardship of grant and donor relationships.

Impact & Reporting
- Ensure that the CRM is updated with engagements, proposal submissions and engagement plans in a timely fashion.

Skills required
- A proven fundraiser who can inspire, influence and deliver results

About the role
Development Group generates philanthropic and sponsorship income to help us create a Natural History Museum for the future – investing in capital development, attaining vital acquisitions for the collection, transforming our galleries, developing innovative exhibitions and undertaking ground-breaking scientific research on issues that affect us all.
The Museum is looking for an ambitious and self-motivated individual for the role of Philanthropy Manager. The role will be focused on raising funds from high-net-worth individuals capable of giving six-figure gifts and key in achieving our strategic priorities. It will involve working both independently and closely with senior stakeholders in order to cultivate and maintain relationships with new and existing funders, securing income towards a diverse range of core and capital projects.
Working alongside an approachable and highly successful Philanthropy team and reporting into the Senior Philanthropy Manager (HNWI), the role will cultivate and build relationships with a portfolio of potential and existing funders, engaging with them through correspondence, meetings, events and creating compelling proposals to secure funding. The role will provide exemplary stewardship and create robust and long-term pipelines, whilst actively supporting the Philanthropy Executive with their portfolio.
About you
The appointed person will be able to secure and manage gifts from high-net-worth individuals, and have exceptional written and oral communication skills, with an ability to convey detailed information in a concise and engaging manner. They will have an ability to establish productive relationships with a variety of funders, prospects and colleagues and be able to to establish productive relationships with a variety of funders, prospects and colleagues. The person will be able to work proactively and constructively with colleagues to develop high-quality project proposals and act as an ambassador for the Natural History Museum amongst a range of high-profile external contacts. The Senior Philanthropy and Partnership Manager is a new role, bringing the staff team to eight. We are looking for someone experienced, ambitious and creative to be our first Senior Philanthropy and Partnership Manager, to drive our fundraising strategy, create new opportunities and relationships, lead the cultivation and stewardship of new trust funders, and develop a new major donor fundraising programme.
In this role you will have strategic accountability for fundraising and overseeing progress towards fundraising targets, working with the team and the Board to generate ideas and deliver proposals for raising funds, and for highlighting our impact to potential donors. An exciting opportunity for someone with experience to help grow Scope’s Philanthropy portfolio. The role will support Scope to maximise its’ opportunities in securing and managing High Net Worth individuals and strengthening our existing partnership with People’s Postcode Lottery.
The role
You will:
· Identify potential HNWI, develop relationships and approach them for support in the most appropriate (and GDPR compliant) manner.

About you
We are looking for someone with experience of:
