The Finance Manager is responsible to the Executive Director and responsible for:

1. Ensure Financial Sustainability—Develop and implement financial strategies that support the organization's long-term sustainability, aligning budgets with the charity's mission and strategic goals.
2. Strengthen Financial Governance and Compliance - Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, charity law, and donor requirements, including timely preparation of statutory accounts and audit processes.
3. Enhance Financial Planning and Budgeting - Lead the annual budgeting process and long-term financial planning, providing accurate forecasting, financial modelling, and scenario planning to support leadership decisions.
4. Optimise Resource Allocation - Provide insight and analysis to guide the efficient use of funds, ensuring that resources are directed to the most impactful programs and services.
5. Develop Transparent Financial Reporting—To build trust and demonstrate accountability, deliver timely and transparent financial reports to stakeholders, including the ED, trustees, donors, and regulators.
6. Support Fundraising and Donor Stewardship - Partner with fundraising teams to manage restricted funds, track grant expenditures, and support financial reporting to funders, ensuring alignment with donor expectations.
7. Promote Financial Literacy and Capacity building - Build financial awareness and capacity across the organization by training non-financial staff and ensuring budget holders understand and manage their financial responsibilities effectively.
8. Risk Management and Contingency Planning - Identify financial risks and develop mitigation strategies, including establishing reserves and contingency plans for economic uncertainties or funding shortfalls.

The Role:

The Office Manager and HR Admin will be responsible for overseeing onboarding, health & Safety and human resources functions pertaining to all employees. The role holder will also be responsible for maintaining the office space, administration and any related governance. Responsibilities:

Office:

• Develop and implement office policies and procedures to ensure smooth operations and compliance with company standards.       
• Ensure the office space meets all Health & Safety regulations, including correct up-to-date H&S information made available to staff via noticeboard or similar.
• Owns and maintains positive and productive relationships with property management and third-party vendors and is point of contact for the building management team in case of any issues and for building information sharing.

Health & Safety:

•  To assume the role of the Health & Safety Officer.

•  Liaise with building management, contractors, and suppliers and escalate any risks or issues as appropriate.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) SharePoint and other relevant software applications.

Role Overview

The successful candidate will be involved in leading and co-ordinating the delivery of Crohn’s & Colitis UK’s research strategy including our programme of grants, and our work to support increased patient and public involvement in research.  They will work with the Director of Services & Evidence and Head of Evidence & Research to support the charity’s involvement with external research bodies and contribute to the leadership, planning and delivery of cross-team projects, helping to influence and meet our strategic objectives.

About You

We are looking for someone who has proven experience of delivering successful research funding and patient and public involvement research activities.  The successful candidate must be adept at establishing and maintaining effective relationships with external stakeholders and comfortable working with operational performance metrics, and implementing strategies and objectives for the organisation.  Ideally your background will be in health care or working in a medical charity and you’ll be educated to degree level or equivalent.  Given this role will involve managing and providing leadership to the Research team, prior management experience would be an advantage. Whilst not essential, a knowledge of the needs of people affected by Crohn’s and Colitis would be beneficial also.

In this role, there is plenty of scope for working from home, although there will be times when you will need to travel to events/conferences. In addition, the charity meets four times annually at its office in Hatfield (or a location in London) for its’ ‘All Staff Together’ days, at which attendance is mandatory.

Our partnership in Zambia is six years old. King’s Global Health Partnerships (KGHP) initiated a long-term partnership with Arthur Davison Children’s Hospital and Ndola Teaching hospital, in Ndola province, Zambia. Work in Zambia has focused on maternal and newborn health, breast cancer surgery, antimicrobial stewardship and health worker wellbeing.

KGHP is based within the School of Life Course & Population Sciences. The School of Life Course & Population Sciences is one of five Schools that make up the Faculty of Life Sciences & Medicine at King’s College London. The School unites experts across 5 departments, Women and Children’s health, Nutritional Sciences, Population Health Sciences, Ophthalmology and Twins & Genetic Epidemiology, overall covering the complexities of life course health & disease from individual cells molecular genetics to whole population level.

Our research links the causes of common health problems to life’s landmark stages, treating life, disease and healthcare as a continuum. About the role

We are looking for a Programme Manager to lead on the management of our current programme activities in Somaliland and Zambia. The role will lead on the management of various grants/ projects within our Somaliland and Zambia partnerships as well as strengthening our partnership approaches in these two countries. The role will be responsible for project closeout, startup of new projects secured as well as developing new funding proposals to support the aims as set out in our partnership and organisational strategies. 

About You

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:

Essential criteria

1. BSc or MSc in Global Health or International Relations or aligned subject
2. Relevant experience managing multiple projects (including large and complex grants/contracts) throughout the full project cycle, preferably projects delivered by consortiums
3. Relevant experience working collaboratively with partner organisations in low resource settings
4. Financial management and budgeting experience for complex multi-year, multi-partner projects
5. Experience of developing MEL strategies for large and complex programmes, including developing indicators, theories of change, learning processes
6. Experience coordinating and managing the development of successful funding proposals including institutional donors such as FCDO and the DHSC
7. Significant experience in donor compliance and relationship management, preferably including trusts and foundations and institutional donors

The Salvation Army – Supporter Acquisition Manager x 2

The Salvation Army, the UK’s leading social welfare charity, is seeking two Supporter Acquisition Managers to project manage and lead on day-to-day delivery of supporter acquisition appeals.

The Salvation Army is one of the largest, most diverse providers of social and community services after the Government. With more than 600 local centres and nearly 100 residential centres, they make a powerful difference to people across the UK who might otherwise be excluded.

Along with the Assistant Head of Individual Giving, the Supporter Acquisition Managers are  responsible for growing the organisation’s file of donors and hitting an annual Individual Giving team fundraising target of £50 million in unrestricted income. As a direct marketing subject matter expert, they will lead cold recruitment campaigns and support in identifying and delivering new products or acquisition streams. The roles will lead on planning and project managing delivery of a variety of media channels, both online and offline. Each manager will hold strategic areas of focus, be responsible for seven figure expenditure budgets and line manage a Supporter Acquisition Officer or Executive.

The successful candidates will have significant direct marketing expertise with a strong background in project managing multiple campaigns across a range of channels, ideally in a fundraising role, and with proven success at recruiting new donors.  You will have a passion for fundraising with a commercial understanding of the charity marketplace and competitors. As well as previous experience in identifying areas of innovation and devising testing plans to launch and roll out, you will also have a track record in successfully leveraging value from data collated on supporter databases, to maximise targeting and data segmentation.

Excellent numeracy and strong analytical skills will be combined with excellent written communication abilities and a good attention to detail and ability to prioritise work. Community Fundraising Manager

We are looking for an experienced Community Fundraising Manager to join our small and friendly fundraising team. You will be responsible for driving our strategy for Community Fundraising, Individual/Regular Giving and Events. With a database of around 100,000 registrants and 15,000 members, these existing income streams have lots of great potential. We have amazing fundraisers in our community who take on challenges like the London Marathon, London to Brighton bike ride, or their own swimming challenge and there’s lots of great potential amongst our supporters, including our committed members and regular givers.

Hours:  30 hours per week (negotiable for the right candidate)

Purpose of the role

• Grow a successful existing income stream (Fundraising Events and Regular Giving) and develop and grow a comparatively new income stream (Community Fundraising and Individual Giving) for Twins Trust. You will do this alongside other fundraisers in the team and with support from a Fundraising Officer.
• Lead and develop a multi-year strategy for growing our Community and Events programmes, with a well-planned calendar of events throughout the year covering different themes and geographies.
