About the role

A rewarding new opportunity has arisen to join Sustrans as an Administrative Assistant. This is a pivotal position providing essential support to volunteering initiatives delivered across our UK-wide charity, helping to foster stronger, more connected communities and create lasting positive change.

You will play a key role in managing data and systems, coordinating the volunteer journey process, and providing effective liaison and administrative support.

You will provide administrative and systems support, while ensuring the effective distribution of information, guidance, and resources to colleagues, volunteers, and external stakeholders.

We offer true hybrid working, a flexible mix of working from home and occasional travel to any of our UK office hubs.

About you

You will be competent in data management, with the ability to run reports, manipulate data and be adept at using Customer Relationship Management systems.

As a highly organised individual, you will demonstrate meticulous attention to detail and possess the ability to identify and rectify data anomalies with accuracy and efficiency.

You will demonstrate strong time management skills, with the ability to effectively plan and prioritise your workload to meet deadlines.

Sustrans has a long-term commitment to being a charity for everyone - reducing inequality, valuing diversity, enabling inclusion and ensuring all people are treated with dignity and respect. We aim to be a truly inclusive employer and welcome applications from people from all parts of the community, in particular from under-represented groups.

In return we can offer true hybrid working to suit individual circumstances and a flexible, supportive and rewarding working environment.

  • 28 days’ leave per annum plus bank holidays for full-time working
  • Ability to buy an extra week of annual leave (pro-rata for part-time staff)
  • Staff volunteer days
  • 24/7 free, impartial and confidential support service
  • We are members of the Green Commute Initiative and Cycle Scheme who both offer cycle to work schemes

  • Bike, computer and season ticket loans
  • Discount benefits
  • London Weighting Allowance of £4,530 for all those living within a London Borough (32 local authority districts plus the City of London)
  • Death in Service benefit – 3 x annual Salary

Family Friendly

  • Enhanced maternity and paternity pay
  • Flexible Working practices (full time hours are 37.5 per week, Monday - Friday)
