Join us as our Senior Legal Aid Advisor. We will always stand by people standing up to an unjust immigration system. We provide a safe haven for people to rebuild their lives and our Senior Legal Aid Advisor role is a key part of that. Sitting in the immigration team, you will work on our Legal Aid contract alongside a team of Immigration Advisors working on a mix of grant funded projects for migrants unable to afford private representation. You will work within a supportive environment, reporting to our Immigration Manager, and be able to develop your areas of expertise. We’re a small and collaborative team so you will have the opportunity to work closely with other members of the organisation.
Main Roles
- Manage a full caseload of complex immigration matters funded by legal aid, including asylum, human rights, and deportation cases.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and contractual obligations (IAAS, SRA, LAA).
- Complete funding applications, manage provider submissions, track time, prepare and submit legal aid bills and ensure compliance with LAA obligations.
- Provide ad hoc supervision, mentoring or training to members of the immigration team working on related immigration matters.

Role
In this exciting role, you will provide pro-active specialist, trauma-informed emotional, practical and advocacy support for male, trans and non-binary survivors aged 13–24 who have experienced sexual violence and are currently engaged with, or actively considering engaging with, the Criminal Justice System (CJS). This includes young people who present with additional or intersecting needs (e.g. mental health, neurodiversity, disability, immigration, homelessness, substance use, care-experienced backgrounds, or LGBTQIA+ identity). The role empowers young people to understand their rights, navigate the CJS, and make informed decisions about reporting, ongoing involvement, and special measures.
Our ISVAs work with clients currently residing in any London borough, or if the abuse was committed in any London borough. Travel across London will be expected.

About the role
We are recruiting for a Policy Officer to join on a full-time, permanent contract, working 35 hours per week.
This role is key to supporting Alzheimer’s Society’s ambitions to drive major system and policy change in diagnosis, care and treatment across England, Northern Ireland and Wales at an exciting time in dementia policy. Evidence-based, collaborative, engaging and innovative policymaking will be central to everything the Policy Officer does.
As Policy Officer you will play an important role in determining what the Society thinks about the big issues affecting people affected by dementia. Through robust scoping and policy development, you will help to identify the action needed to affect change and help ensure our influencing activity is evidence-driven, timely and relevant across the three nations in which we work – nationally and locally.
You will be an expert policy advisor to colleagues across the Society and support Policy Managers to deliver against agreed integrated plans, including helping to monitor progress and performance and working with others to gather evidence, insight and data to underpin our policy work. Key to the success of this role is engaging others in the policy development process, sharing analysis, opinion and insight to inspire high-quality, dynamic policymaking.

About you

About the role
Reporting in to the Government and Parliamentary Lead, the role of Parliamentary and Influencing Advisor is a key member of the Policy and Influencing team.

SENIOR HR ADVISOR – GENERALIST STAND ALONE ROLE
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Senior HR Advisor to join our team starting, ideally, from early December 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HR generalist, transitioning to managing an HR standalone function. The Degrees Initiative is a UK-based NGO that strengthens the capacity of the Global South to evaluate solar radiation modification (SRM), a controversial proposal for reducing some impacts of climate change by reflecting sunlight away from the Earth. Degrees is neutral on whether SRM should ever be used, but we believe that the Global South should be empowered to conduct their own research and to play a central role in SRM discussions. The initiative has been working in different forms for over a decade, and our work receives worldwide coverage and widespread acclaim.
This is a unique opportunity to inform conversations on SRM in Africa. Rather than lobbying for outcomes, Degrees aims to support informed, independent policymaking by fostering connections between researchers and policymakers and strengthening institutional expertise. Degrees promotes regional research, creates spaces for policy-science dialogue, and supports the dissemination of Global South research.
Responsibilities
The Policy and Engagement Manager, Africa will strengthen the voice of the Global South in discussions and potential negotiations on SRM research and governance with relevance to Africa by connecting experts to policy processes. Accordingly, the successful candidate will:
- Identify and engage key policy actors (e.g. national delegates and legislators, scientific advisors, intergovernmental officials) in Africa, connecting them to local SRM experts and providing them with information, where appropriate, while remaining neutral regarding the potential use and governance of SRM;
- Work with SRM researchers from the region to support the ongoing development of a coordinated community of experts;
- Build informal and formal partnerships with like-minded organisations, helping to inform discussions and counter misinformation about climate and SRM.
- Share expertise and experience gained from Africa with staff and researchers and participate, as appropriate, in activities in Asia and the Pacific and Latin America and the Caribbean to gain similar expertise;
- Identify the most impactful international forums and regional SRM discussions, and work to connect local experts into these;
- Identify a core group of researchers interested in policy engagement, and facilitate and join their participation in governance fora such as the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, UNFCCC COP, UN Environment Assembly, and meetings of the Convention on Biological Diversity;
- Support the execution and coordination of the Degrees policy engagement strategy in collaboration with other policy and programmatic staff;
- Contribute to budgeting and alignment with programmes;
- Support monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) activities by contributing to tracking, documentation, and reporting of policy engagement outcomes;
- In cooperation with the communications staff, ensure the development of clear, contextualised briefing materials for policy makers and other audiences.

World Jewish Relief created the Specialist Training and Employment Programme (STEP) for refugees in 2016 and today we are the largest provider of specialist employment support to people who have experienced forced migration in the UK.STEP aims to support and empower people through a tailored employment programme that addresses the complex barriers that they face when preparing for and ultimately finding work in the UK.
We support all people who have experienced forced migration, regardless of their proximity to the labour market, to develop the skills and access the opportunities they need to secure sustainable and meaningful employment. We run STEP online and in person programmes across the UK.
We have now expanded our work to deliver (in partnership with the British Council) an English Language and Employment Support Programme for up to 4,000 Ukrainians and Hong Kong BNO status/visa holders (50% of each community) over the next 12 months.
We are recruiting Ukrainian speaking Employment Advisors to join the STEP team delivering this new programme. You will provide high quality advice and guidance through 1:1 employability support and group employability workshops with the aim of coaching individuals and supporting them on their journey into employment that suits their previous experience and skill set.
You will prepare participants for employment and help them to achieve their chosen training and employment objectives. You will monitor and encourage participants’ engagement and attendance in all aspects of the programme. You will provide an exemplary level of support to STEP participants working towards a variety of performance targets based on the progression outcomes of participants including successful delivery of workshops, completion of training courses, volunteering, and achieving and sustaining paid employment.
The Employment Advisors will work remotely and can be based anywhere in the UK.

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced IDVA to join our dynamic team in Tower Hamlets, working with people who have experienced domestic violence and abuse. You will be working as part of a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with external agencies in particular DWP.
As the DWP IDVA you are responsible for carrying out risk and needs assessments, safety planning and providing support and intervention to victim/survivors of domestic violence identified at Poplar jobcentre. In addition to this you will build relationships with, and provide advice, guidance and training to DWP staff.
About You
You will need a passion for working with victim/survivors and a thorough understanding of domestic abuse and its impact on women and their children, as well as experience of providing emotional and practical support and strong casework management skills.
You will have the skills to provide effective crisis intervention, carry out risk assessments, safety planning, assessment of needs and individual support planning. You should have demonstrable experience of working in an IDVA or similar position with this or a similar client group.

I am urgently seeking an experienced Interim People & Culture Advisor to focus on Change for a not-for-profit organisation based in East London. The role pays a salary in the range of £41,000 to £43,500 per year depending upon experience and requires hybrid working (2 days per week in the office) on a fixed term salaried contract starting ASAP until the end of March 2026.
Reporting to one of the Change People Partners, your key responsibilities include: -
- Providing high quality advice and guidance to managers and staff about change processes through various media such as at meetings or via the People Advice mailbox
- Providing support to the Change People Partners leading change at all stages of organisational change. This will include maintaining the datasheets for change, managing employee relations issues arising from change, producing accurate redundancy calculations, preparing documents and reports, reviewing terms and conditions of employment
- Working independently with the self-awareness to know when to escalate higher risk issues to the appropriate Change People Partners for guidance or resolution
- Creating solutions to problems (that are appropriate for this grade) that do not have a ready-made solution in the existing policies and procedures by seeking further advice internally and/or externally, exploring best practice and legislative guidance
The ideal candidate will have the following knowledge, experience, skills and competencies: -
- Significant experience of supporting managers, staff and people colleagues with organisational change processes gained within a complex work environment
- Proficient in using standard office IT and management systems, including using lookups in Excel
- Strong knowledge of employment law and the experience to apply that knowledge to manage employee relations cases end-to-end and know when to seek support from senior People colleagues or a third party
- Significant experience of organising and prioritising own workload on a day-to-day basis and of working to tight deadlines
- Chartered CIPD Member or equivalent experience to demonstrate the capability required for this role
- High attention to detail required for all work such as data and reporting management, letter writing and good work presentation in all aspects of associated administration
