In this role, you will drive UNICEF UK's communications and media efforts for public fundraising and brand campaigns such as Soccer Aid for UNICEF,  as well as advocacy campaigns, and humanitarian emergencies. You'll manage relationships with UK media and collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver ambitious, impactful media coverage that supports our income and influence goals across the Public Relations and News and Emergencies teams.

To succeed, you'll need experience in developing, implementing, and evaluating media strategies, and crafting effective communication materials to secure consumer and news coverage in key mass media outlets. Exceptional communication skills are essential, as is the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with UK journalists and stakeholders. Up-to-date knowledge of the UK media landscape and current humanitarian issues is also crucial.

Thanks to funding from the National Lottery Community Fund, we are recruiting for a Parliamentary Officer who will develop and coordinate effective links between the Poverty Truth Network and parliamentarians, promoting a relationally-based approach to policy development and legislation.

You will be a highly motivated person with a proven track record of developing and delivering strategies to influence policy and political stakeholders to achieve change, ideally within a parliamentary or government setting.

Key Tasks

• To develop, with appropriate input from the Director and Partnership Manager, the Network’s approach to engaging with parliamentarians (Politics Alongside) in line with its values and practices 
• To ensure that Poverty Truth Commissioners are at the heart of the Network’s parliamentary engagement
• To develop and, where appropriate, establish links with UK and devolved Parliaments and governments to promote the work of the Network 
• To coordinate and help to deliver parliamentary events on behalf of the Network, including mapping topics and attendees, working with other partners as appropriate 
• To support the development of effective links with Combined Authorities and other devolved administrations
• To work closely with members of the Amplify Team to promote its groups proposals for change

This role involves working from home with some travel.

Duties and key responsibilities 
• Support the Head of Institutional Funding in the development and delivery of an 
institutional funding strategy. 
• Identify, prospect and approach institutional donors to secure funds, maintain 
successful working relationships with a portfolio of institutional donors, utilise the client 
relationship management tool and knowledge management processes. 
• Lead the development of high-quality proposals, coordinate input from other teams, 
including proposal writing, budget planning and impact measurement. 
• Support timely and quality delivery of institutional funding award compliance and 
reporting requirements. 

Institutional donor portfolio and pipeline development 
• Research, identify and engage with possible institutional donors including conducting 
new donor due diligence. 
• Proactively develop and maintain an institutional funding pipeline that aligns with 
implementation location funding priorities. 
• Monitor trends in institutional donor funding in the Middle East and MAP programme 
priority areas. 
• Manage institutional funding annual forecast tracking.

• Conduct regular research and networking to track institutional donor opportunities. 
• Manage relationships with institutional donors, keeping them informed of MAP’s

Grant management 
• Provide compliance guidance on new agreements, including tools, training and ongoing 
advice on donor requirements. 
• Support teams to ensure all grants meet contractual obligations throughout the project

• Ensure timely, relevant communication with institutional donors. 
• Incorporate learnings into new proposals with input from MEAL and programme 
colleagues.

General Management 
• Report against agreed KPIs, financial targets and annual objectives as part of regular oneto-one meetings with the Head of Institutional Funding.

core donor engagement materials.

About the role

FLEX is looking for a passionate advocate with a good understanding of the UK political system, of labour abuse and/or exploitation and human trafficking in the UK, and demonstrable experience of coalition working and building relationships with key stakeholders working in the anti-trafficking, employment rights, and/or immigration sectors. This recruitment comes at an exciting and challenging time for our work at the intersection of employment rights and immigration policy. This role will inform and support our work to influence and improve law, policy and practice affecting worker in high-risk sectors in the UK.

In this role, you will lead on FLEX’s advocacy at the London level and coordinate the joint research advocacy and project work of FLEX networks and coalitions. These currently include the Labour Exploitation Advisory Group (LEAG) and the Taskforce on Victims of Trafficking in Immigration Detention, two networks made of expert organisations directly supporting people who have experienced or are at risk of exploitation. Above all this role requires someone with real passion and commitment to FLEX’s work to end labour exploitation and an excitement for working in a small, dynamic team.

This is an opportunity to join Refuge as a Duty Independent Domestic Violence Advocate to be the first point of contact for women who are impacted by domestic violence. You will work closely with victims of domestic abuse from the point of crisis and other gender-based abuse to provide high quality independent support to survivors all risk levels and their children..

In this role you will be part of a busy team. You will be the first point of contact for survivors who have been referred to the Gaia Centre. The duty IGVA will be responding to daily enquiries (specify from whom- public, agencies, individuals? over the phone and email as well as contacting survivors, assessing their risks and needs.

The duty IGVA will be responsible for carrying out and implementing safety plans and needs and will ensure an effective handover to the over to the relevant GAIA team for ongoing support. The post holder will also empower survivors by providing them with emotional, practical and personal welfare support. You will ensure that survivors are provided with a safe, supportive and welcoming environment, enabling them to access their rights, make decisions and increase their life options. The job involves working within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership protocols and procedures that prioritise the safety of survivors.

As part of this role, you will be required to participate in an out-of-hours on call rota.

Policy and Public Affairs Officer - National Youth Agency

As Policy and Public Affairs Officer at the National Youth Agency, this is a unique opportunity to shape the future of youth work in England. Key responsibilities for this role will include:

Policy and public affairs support

• Research and track policy developments, political landscape changes, and other relevant areas to identify opportunities to further NYA’s policy calls.
• Monitor and report on parliamentary activities, government announcements, and consultations relevant to youth work.
• Compile and analyse data from various sources to support policy briefs, reports, and other written materials.
• Draft policy briefings, research summaries, consultation responses, letters, reports, newsletters and stakeholder communications.
• Maintain and develop stakeholder relationships and record engagement on the CRM system.
• Work with the team with the preparation and delivery of youth participation activities to support our policy influencing objectives.

Event support

• Support the organisation, coordination and note-taking for meetings and events, including webinars, roundtables and political party conference activity. 
• Support with planning and executing of large events including attendee registration, youth participation, materials preparation and using the CRM system.

Other

• Represent the Policy Team at external and internal meetings, policy forums and events.
• Work collaboratively with other teams and directorates to help build an understanding of the work of the Policy and Public Affairs team and effective working relationships across the organisation.

Person Specification
Essential
 Proven leadership and strategic management potential at senior level, ideally within a
charity, cultural or heritage context

About the Role

Role - Responsible for the development and implementation of the service communication strategy and plan, including the production and distribution of information, oversight of our online presence and development of work around AI for the benefit of the VCSE sector. The post holder will also co-ordinate aspects of our work in terms of VCSE networks and forums.

Background (Summary)

Enhance is the newly funded VCSE infrastructure support service in Redcar and Cleveland made possible through the collaboration of a number of funders to fill a gap in local provision. 

Lloyds Bank Foundation, Rank Foundation, Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council, Tees Foundation and the Woodsmith Foundation have provided three years of funding and commissioned MVDA to develop and deliver a VCSE infrastructure service (Enhance) in Redcar and Cleveland.

Enhance will provide practical support to VCSE organisations based in the Redcar and Cleveland area who deliver services to local people and communities. 

The service model for Enhance is based on three key areas:

Improvement – Providing practical support through an information and advice service.  This will include for example advice on governance, funding, policy and practice

Growth - The development and delivery of a comprehensive training programme for all VCSEs in Redcar and Cleveland

Influence - Work to support the building and development of relationships; collaborative work across the VCSE sector and cross-sector partnerships

The service will be based in Redcar and Cleveland and will provide an outreach service in the more rural areas of the borough to ensure the services are accessible to all local VCSEs.
