As Communications and Policy Officer, your role will be to raise awareness and increase understanding of Pause and the experiences of the women we work with in order to achieve positive change at both a national and local level.

This is a new role, sitting within the Partnerships and Engagement team, although you will work with colleagues across the whole organisation.

You will work with the team to influence change by delivering creative communications activity and maintaining excellent working relationships with key stakeholders. This will involve working closely with our Impact and Influencing Lead as well as our colleagues in practice, participation and engagement, so that you can learn from those with lived experience and ensure their voices are at the forefront.

The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator with the ability to deliver creative communications to influence change. You also should have a real desire to create positive change in the services and systems that affect the lives of women who have had children removed from their care.

Within the Chief Executive’s Office, the UK Advocacy and Health Intelligence Department are focused on creating lasting change. About the role

The purpose of this role is to drive policy development across our policy priority areas. The Policy Officer will lead on specific policy projects, commissioning research, developing policy positions, and producing reports and consultation responses.

This role will cover a broad range of issues across one of our strategic goals – prevention and diagnosis; access to treatment; and living well with arthritis. Our approach considers the needs of people of all ages who have arthritis.

The Policy Officer will also contribute to the wider work of the team, working closely with colleagues in the Nations Teams, the Research Directorate and the wider charity, including by representing us on cross-sector policy groups, drafting briefings, and participating in events and conferences.

This is an exciting senior policy role in our committed policy team leading the fight to end child poverty in the UK. The development of a UK-wide child poverty strategy in government means this is a great time to join CPAG as we look to influence to influence policy makers to adopt our evidence-based policy solutions to child poverty.

We are looking for someone to take a lead role in developing evidence-based policy positions to support CPAG’s influencing and campaigns work. Current priorities include influencing the development and implementation of the forthcoming child poverty strategy, sharing analysis and expertise as part of the DWP’s review of universal credit, and monitoring the development of the green paper on the changes to disability benefits, and the white paper on employment.

Overview

The DfE has nominated CST as the employer representative for academy trusts for specific purposes (for example, the school support staff negotiating body).  The postholder will be required to work directly with the Department for Education at a senior level to undertake the duties associated with this employer representative role.  CST also wishes to strengthen its support to members on wider matters of employer policy. There is significant scope to shape and develop this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Have a detailed understanding of the terms and conditions of employment of teaching and support staff and the workforce issues affecting the education sector, particularly those influencing recruitment and retention of staff.

• The ability to build relationships with key stakeholders (members, senior DfE officials and ministers) and work closely with other employer representative organisations.

Essential Skills and Experience

The Role

This role is critical in ensuring the smooth and efficient booking of travel for staff and senior stakeholders, as well as overseeing the organisation’s purchasing activities. As a newly created position, the successful candidate will be responsible for establishing systems and processes to manage travel and procurement, working closely with the Finance team and the Travel and Security Advisor in the HR department to ensure consistency and financial integrity.

Key Responsibilities

Travel Management:

· Coordinate and manage all travel arrangements for staff and senior stakeholders, ensuring timely and cost-effective bookings while adhering to organisational policies.

· Organise international and domestic travel, including flights, accommodation, transport, and visa arrangements.

· Serve as the point of contact for travel-related inquiries, providing guidance and support for smooth logistics.

· Negotiate with travel vendors and service providers to secure the best pricing and terms for the organisation.

Procurement Management:

· Oversee and manage the purchasing of goods and services for the organisation, ensuring compliance with procurement policies and budgetary guidelines.

· Source, evaluate, and engage with suppliers for the provision of necessary goods and services, aiming to achieve cost-efficiency and quality.

· Develop and maintain procurement records, including purchase orders, contracts, and supplier agreements.

· Liaise with Finance to ensure accurate tracking of procurement expenditures and alignment with budget allocations.

Collaboration with HR and Security Teams:

· Work closely with the Travel and Security Advisor in the HR department to ensure travel safety and security measures are in place for staff and senior stakeholders, particularly for international trips.

· Support the integration of security protocols into travel arrangements and procurement decisions, ensuring all relevant safety guidelines are met.

· Assist in providing pre-travel briefings and information to staff traveling to high-risk areas.

Systems and Process Development:

· Collaborate with the Finance team to design and implement systems for procurement and travel functions.

· Create standard operating procedures (SOPs) for travel bookings and procurement to ensure operational consistency and compliance.

· Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.

· Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all procurement and travel transactions, ensuring clear communication across departments.

Stakeholder Support and Coordination:

· Act as the primary point of contact for internal teams and external suppliers regarding procurement and travel matters.

· Support staff and senior stakeholders with travel and procurement inquiries, troubleshooting any issues that may arise.

· Assist in coordinating logistics for organisational events, conferences, and field visits, ensuring all travel and procurement requirements are met.

Confidentiality and Discretion:

· Handle sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality, ensuring that all procurement and travel-related matters are managed discreetly.

Person Requirement

· Proven experience in procurement, travel coordination, or a similar role, ideally within the public or not-for-profit sector.

· Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.

· Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work collaboratively with both internal teams and external vendors.

· Experience negotiating with suppliers and managing travel logistics.

· Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and document preparation.

The Role

As Chief of Staff to the CEO, you will be a strategic partner and trusted advisor, playing a pivotal role in driving EJF’s mission forward during an exciting period of growth and global impact. You will support and empower the CEO to lead effectively across multiple programmes, geographies, and teams, ensuring the highest levels of operational focus, internal alignment, and mission delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Support: Act as a force multiplier for the CEO, helping to prioritise initiatives, manage high-level projects, and streamline decision-making processes. The role will act as a gatekeeper for the CEO, addressing and balancing competing demands and workloads.

• Executive Coordination: Prepare and arrange briefing documents, talking points, and correspondence. Attend meetings with or on behalf of the CEO and ensure timely follow-ups. Coordinate the CEO’s public and media engagements to ensure he is well-prepared.

• Organisational Alignment: Facilitate communication between the CEO and global teams to ensure alignment on goals, priorities, and values. Provide objective assessments of teams and their efficiency and effectiveness.

• Project Management: Oversee special projects from inception to completion, ensuring they align with organizational strategy and deliver measurable impact. Support for income generation, including grant applications, monitoring and reporting.

• Donor Engagement: Support major donor engagements and high-stakes partnerships.

• Thought Partnership: Serve as a critical sounding board, offering insights and constructive challenge on complex organisational and strategic issues.

About You

• You are highly organized, diligent, intellectually curious, and deeply committed to environmental and social justice.

• You have a strong background in strategy, operations, or executive-level coordination, ideally in a nonprofit, policy, or international development setting.

• You possess exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, and a strong ability to research, synthesise and apply information quickly and to a high standard.

• You are diplomatic, discreet, and thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments.

• You are proactive, resourceful, and capable of working independently on complex problems.

Desired Experience

• Minimum 7 years of experience in a senior strategic, advisory, or operational role

• Prior experience working with or reporting to C-suite executives

• Understanding of the nonprofit or advocacy sector, preferably in environmental or human rights fields

• Ability to travel internationally if required

The Epilepsy Research Institute is looking to appoint an Executive Assistant (EA) to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

This is a unique opportunity to be part of our team and play a central role in supporting the CEO across a range of duties. This is a new post which requires an individual with exceptional organisational skills, sound judgement, and the ability to manage multiple priorities with professionalism and discretion.

You will act as a trusted gatekeeper and facilitator, ensuring the smooth running of the CEO’s schedule, correspondence, and key projects. You will also work closely with the senior leadership, helping to coordinate meetings and follow-ups across the Institutes functions.
