Purpose of the role:

The purpose of the role is focused on generating and developing monthly management accounts information and providing insight and direction to the Director General and Leadership Team. Reporting directly to the ‘Head of Finance and Organisation Development’, the Management Accountant will play a key role across the business in improving data capture and managing reporting across the team. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Job Purpose:  

This is a pivotal role in shaping the long-term environmental future of the Petty Pool estate. As part of a 10-year Estate Development Plan, the Woodland, Ecology and Sustainability Manager will lead the design and delivery of an integrated strategy for sustainable land stewardship, ensuring our woodland and ecological assets are managed to the highest standards.  

You will serve as the primary point of contact for the local authority planning team regarding ecological and sustainability considerations tied to the estate’s development, ensuring full compliance with planning obligations and environmental legislation. A key responsibility will be brokering opportunities for Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG), working across agencies, partners and internal teams to maximise both ecological value and project impact.

Key Responsibilities:  

• Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive woodland, ecology and sustainability strategy in alignment with the 10-year Estate Development Plan.  

• Act as the lead liaison with the local authority planning department, ensuring ecological and sustainability requirements are embedded in planning applications and delivery.  

• Drive initiatives that enhance Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) across the estate, including identifying and brokering partnership opportunities and offset schemes.

Partnership and Strategy Manager - Western Forest

The Partnerships and Strategy Manager at Western Forest will be responsible for managing and nurturing partnership relations across the Western Forest area. This role ensures that all partners are supported and resourced to develop and deliver the collective vision of the forest, helping to achieve key targets. About Voice 21

Speaking and listening skills underpin our success in school, work and throughout our lives. Developing young people’s oracy skills equips them with the tools needed to navigate education systems, pursue career ambitions and achieve their potential. Like reading, writing and maths, oracy is an essential, foundational building block that prepares young people to thrive in society.

Despite extensive evidence that high quality oracy education increases students’ confidence, wellbeing, engagement, progress and attainment, oracy is not an essential, everyday feature of every child’s school experience. Unlike literacy and numeracy, it is not commonly understood and provision across the system is not universal or consistent. This disadvantages children from low income backgrounds, who are significantly more likely than their better-off peers to start school without vital oracy skills.

About this opportunity

Help us make oracy education an everyday entitlement for every child, in every school, by growing and diversifying Voice 21’s voluntary funding. 

As Voice 21 embarks on its ambitious next five-year strategy, we are looking to strengthen our team with a talented and ambitious Fundraising Manager. Your role will support the Head of Fundraising, CEO and wider team to develop new sources of high value support for Voice 21, working flexibly across trusts and foundations, corporate and philanthropic fundraising.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a knack for identifying funding opportunities and discovering new prospects. With excellent research, communication and relationship-building skills, you’ll work collaboratively with senior colleagues to strengthen our pipeline and drive long term growth in voluntary income. You’ll also contribute your ideas and initiative to develop and deliver compelling engagement opportunities for current and potential supporters, and lead on reporting impact to funders. Ultimately the post-holder is expected to grow in this role, to manage their own portfolio of high value donors. 

You’ll be joining the fundraising team at an exciting time as we look to build out the function in the coming years. The Head of Fundraising has been in post just over a year, and has put solid foundations in place to support long term growth. With a healthy pipeline already developed for the current and next financial year, you’ll have plenty of lead time to find your feet, with a realistic (shared) fundraising target of securing c.£500K of new voluntary income in 2027. There is significant untapped potential in fundraising for Voice 21. This is a great opportunity for an adaptable, proactive fundraiser to make their mark, gaining experience and developing expertise across high value streams. 

Key responsibilities

• Research and develop a qualified pipeline of trust/foundation and corporate prospects to ensure we achieve voluntary income targets in 2027/28 and beyond. 

• Draft winning funding bids and support the Head of Fundraising and/or CEO to develop compelling proposals and/or pitches. 

• Support and manage the CEO to lead relationships with funders and prospects.

• Lead on managing the funder reporting cycle and ensuring we deliver on our funding agreements, producing timely and inspiring impact reports.

• Drive awareness and understanding of fundraising internally by making connections with colleagues across the organisation and working collaboratively to support achieving fundraising goals. 

• Maintain the quality of data in the fundraising team CRM (Salesforce), managing contacts and pipelines through the database and producing accessible reports on fundraising performance and forecasts. 

Essential knowledge and skills

• Previous high value fundraising experience (trusts and foundations, corporates or philanthropy), with a track record of successfully securing significant donations and achieving income targets.

• Demonstrated ability to maintain a varied workload, deliver to deadlines, and successfully manage multiple work streams and projects.

• Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence, with the confidence and evidenced ability to be able to nurture and maintain successful relationships with high value external stakeholders and senior colleagues. 

• Excellent written and oral communication skills, with an ability to translate complex projects and/or ideas into accessible and persuasive narratives that inspire and motivate. 

• The instincts and initiative to spot and seize fundraising opportunities; with the resilience, flexibility and tenacity to guide long term fundraising activities through to successful outcomes. 

• Passionate about reducing educational inequalities and transforming learning and life chances for young people from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.

Where you’ll work: All Voice 21 staff work remotely and this is a home-based role. Regular travel to our central London office (by Victoria station) is expected for meetings. Regular travel to visit our projects in schools and/or to meet funders will also be expected. Occasional overnight stays may be required too. Voice 21 pays travel and accommodation expenses. The package of salary and expenses will be considered when agreeing a starting salary with the successful candidate. 

Contract: Permanent, subject to successful probation review after three months.

The Role

The Policy and Communications work is critical to ensuring that the organisation are at the forefront of the debate on early years education and childcare. You will help secure high quality media coverage and support our political influencing work. Working with the PR Manager, you will take responsibility for monitoring media coverage, creating engaging content for press releases and news features, as well as supporting policy research.

Key responsibilities include:

• Support the PR Manager to deliver the media relations strategy to ensure effective communication of key messages to target audiences via the national, trade, and social media
• Identify and create print, broadcast and digital opportunities for maximising the reach and impact
• Monitor the media and respond promptly to new developments, compiling and circulating information about media impact
• Ownership of the day-to-day operation of  media and policy contacts, particularly with compiling and maintaining a library of contact details
• Undertake research to explore policy issues as agreed with the senior management team
• Liaise with press and media contacts to maximise positive exposure and coverage across UK national and trade media
• Support in finding suitable nurseries as case studies and spokespeople for the press and broadcast media
• Publish press releases and comments on the website and circulate to relevant members and stakeholders
• Assist with internal and external speaking engagements
• Write and produce material for member magazine Nursery News as well as other member communications and publications
• Contribute towards the delivery of  social media presence
• Contribute to developing the research programme, including compiling and publicising surveys, analysing results and writing reports

About You

We are looking for someone with outstanding communication skills – both written and verbal, with the ability to present information clearly and write engaging material.

You will be enthusiastic and creative and able to digest information and to understand and interpret complex issues for a variety of audiences.

We are looking for someone with:

• Good numeracy skills, with the ability to understand and analyse data
• The ability to build relationships at all levels internally and externally

As our Research Manager - Partnerships, you'll play a pivotal role in building and nurturing strategic partnerships to advance palliative and end of life care research in the UK. You will lead the setup of a new Palliative and End of Life Care Research Funders Forum, coordinate stakeholder engagement activities, and support impact planning across a select portfolio of research grants. This is a unique opportunity to help shape national research priorities and influence the future of care through collaboration, insight, and innovation.

Main responsibilities:
- Establish and manage a new Research Funders Forum for palliative and end of life care, engaging with the Government and charitable funding bodies.
- Plan and organise workshops and other activities following the identification of the top 10 research priorities in the collaborative Palliative and end of life care Priority Setting Partnership with the James Lind Alliance.
- Identify new opportunities for strategic research partnerships by reviewing databases and networks.

- Manage partnership agreements and memoranda of understanding (MoUs).
- Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders including research funders, academic collaborators, and sector bodies.

- Stay informed on developments in the research and end of life care landscape to inform strategic decision-making.

Key Criteria:
- Background in research (delivery or support) and solid knowledge of the UK research funding environment.
- Educated to at least degree level in a health or research-related field or equivalent professional experience.
- Exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple complex projects.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Confidence working across stakeholders to build and maintain engagement.
- Understanding of research impact and experience organising external-facing events or workshops.
- Research presentation experience and knowledge of qualitative/quantitative methods.
- Familiarity with the charity sector or palliative care landscape will be an asset.
