THE ROLE
This role offers a unique and rewarding opportunity to lead National Energy Action’s efforts to improve the lives of those experiencing fuel poverty, with a focus on enhancing building fabric and energy systems. The successful candidate will play a key role in advancing the organisation’s expertise and credibility in this area and will be a passionate advocate for energy efficiency as a vital solution to fuel poverty.
As our new Director of Homes, you will lead our engagement with governments, industry partners, consumer protection bodies, and research organisations to highlight the needs, opportunities, and challenges faced by fuel-poor households.
You will be a member of National Energy Action’s Senior Management Team, helping to shape the strategic direction of the charity. You will lead and support a dedicated team, managing innovative projects designed to deliver meaningful impact.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, you will oversee the development and delivery of high-profile demonstration projects and ensure that insights and evidence from this work are widely shared. You will also lead our influencing efforts, working with key stakeholders and policymakers to drive lasting change.
As part of our Senior Leadership Team, you will collaborate closely with colleagues across the organisation to help guide National Energy Action into the future.

Our History
In December 1979, we were founded as The Colchester Gay Switchboard. Over the past 45 years we have continued to evolve to meet the needs of the local LGBTQ+ community. Today, The OutHouse is built upon the legacy of the hard work and dedication of the hundreds of local LGBTQ+ community members who came before us. This legacy drives us forward.
Our Future
The OutHouse is undergoing a period of change as we look towards positioning ourselves for service expansion and regional growth. In 2024, we appointed a new CEO, who is leading our organisation through a development phase as we revise our organisational strategy and refine our vision.
The Finance & HR Lead
We are looking for a Finance & HR Lead to take charge of the financial health of our charity by administering a high quality and effective financial management service to The OutHouse. The OutHouse is going through a period of change and we need a finance practitioner who is able to support the organisation in its financial management. You will also have oversight of our HR function. This is a busy role within a small team that is looking to make a huge difference within our community. If you have a proven track record in financial planning and HR management, can manage multiple priorities and work within time sensitive situations, we encourage you to apply.
You will work closely with, the CEO, Operations Change Manager, the Team and the Treasurer to ensure that all data are recorded accordingly and in a timely manner.
Key Activities & Responsibilities
As Finance & HR Lead, your key activities and responsibilities will be to:
Finance Responsibilities
- Provide a high quality and effective financial management service to The OutHouse.
- Prepare, develop and analyse finance and accounting information, including income and expenditure processing, ensuring information is timely precise, clear, informative and understood
- Keep good quality accounting records for our charity by preparing annual accounts and maintaining up to date records on our accountancy and book-keeping systems (making any recommendations for improvement as necessary)
- Work with the CEO and Operations Change Manager to ensure efficient financial management and planning systems, ensure financial reports effectively inform business development and fundraising strategies and that the organisation demonstrates value for money across all activities and services
- Prepare information for our Funders on funded projects expenditure and work with the SLT to present this in a meaningful way
- Attend Trustee meetings as required to provide information and analysis ensuring partnership with CEO and board Treasurer to allow for easier financial decisions
- Ensure financial information supplied to management and the board is full and accurate so as to support sound decision making
- Ensure compliance and proactively highlight potential risk with relevant financial statutory and regulatory matters
- Identify and manage risks and contribute to the risk register on financial matters and wider decision making when appropriate
- Keep up to date with financial developments across the sector and changes in requirements for charity reporting and legislation
- Make sure financial reporting complies with relevant legal requirements
- Maintain and monitor internal policy documents and procedures and make recommendations on best practice and good governance
- Liaise with and maintain a good working relationship with our CEO, colleagues and trustees, Treasurer as well as stakeholders and key operational contacts such as bankers, auditors and funders

We’re looking for an experienced, proactive and detail-orientated Website Project Manager to scope and deliver the evolution of our two charity websites, moving each to a more responsive, user-friendly platform which delivers an outstanding supporter experience.
Sitting within the Marketing and Communications team, this role is pivotal to our digital transformation, ensuring our next generation websites align with our digital marketing strategy and ambitious growth plans.

About the role
We are looking for an experienced marcomms professional to help us upscale our campaigns activity. From leading the national Tomorrow’s Engineers Week campaign and leveraging external awareness days to increasing audience engagement with our work, this is a varied role working across the marketing, communications, PR mix. Most of our campaigns are either targeted at teachers and careers leaders working in schools or at companies in engineering and technology who want to build the future talent pool.
In this role you’ll drive the design, planning and execution of strategic campaigns that resonate with our diverse audiences. You’ll create compelling content that promotes our activities across multiple channels, tracking and reporting on performance and engagement.
The role is London based at our office at 10 Lower Thames Street, London EC3R 6EN and may involve some travel in the UK. About Women in Prison
Women in Prison is a national, women-led, feminist organisation. We deliver front line support to women harmed by the criminal justice system, through our work in prisons, in the community and ‘through the prison gate’ as they resettle back into their communities. Asylum Matters is looking for a dynamic campaigner committed to upholding the rights of people seeking asylum in Yorkshire & Humber and across the UK at a critical time. Asylum Matters plays a significant role in working towards positive change for refugees and people seeking asylum. We are a small team based around the UK, working locally and nationally with an extensive network of partners to advocate for progressive change in the asylum system. We work with frontline organisations and people with lived experience across the UK on a range of issues that affect people in the asylum system. We co-lead the award-winning Lift the Ban coalition campaign, that brings together almost 300 organisations calling for the right to work for people seeking asylum. The Yorkshire & Humber Campaigns Manager also lead our Lift the Ban campaign Nationally, working with our powerful coalition to raise our collective voices and call for working rights for people in the asylum system.
We are a facilitator of collaboration and joint action. Our work helps strengthen collective advocacy on asylum reform and ensures it is informed by the reality on the ground. We became an independent charity in 2021 and have ambitious plans for the future as we seek to maximise the potential of our collaborative campaigning model and identify opportunities for change at local, regional and national levels, in a challenging external environment.
The successful candidate will work in partnership with local organisations and networks in Yorkshire & Humber to develop and implement strategies for achieving change locally and nationally. About them:
Our client works by permanently removing barriers facing disabled people and finding answers to the big issues facing them, alongside helping individuals. Their projects and partnerships deliver unique and lasting change and effective support that helps nearly all the 41,000 disabled people in Buckinghamshire – plus many beyond their county.
Uniquely, they are mainly voluntary charity. They have over 150 volunteers, mostly disabled people, supported by a small staff team, who themselves run their projects and services. Many of their volunteers are jobseekers or needing help to move forward in their lives and they actively support them by the way we work.

The Partnerships and Strategy Manager at Western Forest will be responsible for managing and nurturing partnership relations across the Western Forest area. This role ensures that all partners are supported and resourced to develop and deliver the collective vision of the forest, helping to achieve key targets. The manager will work closely with national and regional organisations, Local Planning Authorities (LPAs), landowners, corporate partners, and developers to create strategic plans, secure significant projects, and develop long-term collaborative relationships. They will also assist with funding applications and support the Western Forest Director in establishing new partnerships.
Salary: £36,750-40,171, with annual pay review
Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week, with flexible working hours
Contract: Permanent
Location: Bristol with the option of hybrid working. Travel and meetings across the Western Forest area and working at partner offices will also be required.

AMMF is the UK’s only charity solely dedicated to raising awareness of and funding research into cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer). The charity works closely throughout the UK with clinicians, healthcare professionals, researchers, policy makers, patients and their carers, as well as actively collaborating across Europe and globally.
The role of the Executive Administrator is to manage an administrative workload. The right person will have previous experience of efficient office administration, be able to provide secretarial and administrative support, and to work both independently and as part of a team, and will report directly to the CEO.
It is expected the Executive Administrator will develop an understanding of AMMF’s aims and objectives and its policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Secretarial and administrative support: Dealing with correspondence in close collaboration with the CEO; preparation and distribution of papers for board meetings, minute taking and drafting.
- Managing AMMF’s network of clinical nurse specialists, including sending the charity’s booklets and information to them on request.
- Developing and maintaining up-to-date appropriate inventories and records covering equipment leases, maintenance schedules, equipment allocations, suppliers, etc.
- Diary management and meeting organisation, internal and external, including booking meeting rooms.
- Keeping all records appropriately and in accordance with GDPR.
- Financial - supporting the CEO in the preparation of monthly/annual financial planning, and with other financial matters, as required
- Assisting in and attending the organisation of AMMF’s annual conference, and other events.
- Attending external AMMF networking, partner and fundraising events when required.

Skills and attributes required
- Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written, with high standards of accuracy and clarity in written work.
- Highly IT literate, experienced and competent with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, etc) and with Zoom and other online meeting platforms.
- Excellent secretarial and administrative skills, including previous experience taking and drafting minutes.

· Planning and delivering impactful public affairs activity

Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you'll provide essential support in maintaining the day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the general ledger and reconcile key balance sheet accounts (prepayments, accruals, etc.)
- Manage reconciliations for multiple bank accounts and prepare journals
- Handle accounting for memberships

- Support invoicing, stock, and cost of sales accounting with the Commercial team

What We're Looking For
Qualifications and Experience:

- Familiarity with grant funding and departmental/project accounting is desirable
- A-level education (or equivalent) as a minimum requirement
