As Safeguarding Policy and Quality Assurance Manager, you will work under the direction of the Director of Safeguarding to lead the development, review and assurance of safeguarding policy and practice across the Methodist Church. You will provide analysis, assurance and risk reporting to senior leaders and governance bodies, using safeguarding data and quality information to support evidence‑based decision‑making.

You will work closely with colleagues across the Safeguarding Regions, supporting consistency of standards, shared learning and effective practice across the Methodist Church, as well as engaging with statutory agencies and partner Churches. The role includes line management of the Safeguarding Admin Team and oversight of key safeguarding systems, including the DBS blemish process.

This is a hybrid, office‑based role, reflecting the leadership, collaboration and people‑management responsibilities of the post.

Purpose of the role:

The Senior Policy & Partnerships Officer will deliver policy and research projects and facilitate lived experience voice into Unseen’s policy, research and practice. You will work closely with the Head of Policy & Research, the Survivor Involvement Coordinator and Unseen’s Survivor Consultants and be responsible for the Survivor Consultant groups.

You will also support the Head of Policy & Research in the coordination of the Southwest Anti-Slavery Partnership. Unseen facilitates the Avon & Somerset Anti-Slavery Partnership board, the Regional Anti-Slavery Partnership board and Bristol Modern Slavery Operational Partnership. We support the chairs of other force area partnerships in the region and act as a point of contact in the Southwest, driving forward responses to modern slavery in the region and providing advice and guidance to partners to improve their practice.

You will work closely with Unseen’s Policy & Research team and have regular interactions with staff across Unseen’s wider teams including Business Services, Helpline Services, Support Services, Fundraising, Communications, and Operations.

About the Role

This is a senior leadership opportunity with significant influence and visibility.

About the role

As Spear expands its reach, we are looking for a Development Coach who will focus on two things: equipping young people facing barriers to employment with the confidence, mindset and skills to move into sustainable work, and developing the coaches around you to do the same.

About the role

Reporting in to the Head of Humanitarian, the Humanitarian Policy and Advocacy Lead is senior position that will lead Christian Aid’s humanitarian programme policy and advocacy work, aligning with organisational values and goals to maximise impact.

The post-holder will be responsible for shaping, leading and promoting our humanitarian policy and advocacy, and will represent Christian Aid at the global level in raising the organisation’s visibility and influencing humanitarian policy and practice.

The role will be Christian Aid’s representative at the humanitarian leadership level within the DEC and will work with the Head of Humanitarian in engagement with the ACT Alliance, and will enable our Multi-Country Cluster (MCC) leadership team to develop and deliver humanitarian programming that brings about positive change in humanitarian action and practice.

Some of the main areas of responsibility for the Humanitarian Policy and Advocacy Lead include:

• Lead on the development of Humanitarian Policy and Advocacy and ensure it is aligned with the overall Policy and Influencing strategy and connected across the Impact Department and wider organisation.
• Develop and implement best practice in humanitarian response across MCCs, providing sector experience to support teams and ensure an enabling culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Identify and source technical support for MCCs and partners where needed in our humanitarian signature priority programme areas, making the best use of limited resources.
• Act as a key influencer in sector policy and practice with regards to level of support to locally led responses amplifying impact.
• Drive an increased visibility of Christian Aid and the work of partners across regional and global platforms, looking for opportunities to share learning and amplify impact.
• Foster and build on our strong and dynamic relationship with the DEC, evidence of high performance across DEC appeals.
• Lead engagement with international humanitarian policy forums and stakeholders to drive meaningful change and improvements in the humanitarian eco system with reference to humanitarian advocacy priorities around localisation, accountability to affected populations, disaster resilience, anticipatory action, survivor-led response and cash-based responses to emergencies.
• Ensure learning and feedback is captured and promoted to enable a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Foster a culture of innovation where Christian Aid is on the front foot in developing and piloting new people-centred humanitarian approaches that build on existing progressive ways of working.
• Deputises for the Head of Humanitarian in their absence.

JOB PURPOSE  

To set up and manage our policy and public affairs activities in Scotland ensuring AdviceUK has a strong voice, so we can secure policy change to benefit organisations delivering advice and the communities they serve. The post holder will be responsible for establishing AdviceUK’s first policy and influencing strategy for Scotland, including through developing policy solutions informed by strong evidence and rooted in member experience, and leading effective political and stakeholder engagement which will influence change. They will work closely with colleagues across the UK to join up policy, influencing and communications work. 

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

1.Strategy 

1.1 Develop AdviceUK’s first policy and influencing strategy for Scotland, through consultation with members and stakeholders and analysis of the landscape and opportunities in Scottish policy making. 

1.2 Put plans in place to roll out a specific programme of proactive and reactive policy work to further AdviceUK’s strategic aims in Scotland and represent the voices of Scottish members. 

1.3 Devise measures to monitor the impact of our policy and influencing work in Scotland and report back to staff, trustees, members and stakeholders about the difference we are making. 

2.Policy development 

2.1 Collaborate with AdviceUK members, partners, sector stakeholders and 

beneficiaries to develop clear, concise and authoritative policy positions on key issues. 

2.2 Produce high-quality, well-argued policy materials based on data and evidence, including reports, select committee responses, evidence statements, briefings and responses to Scottish Government consultations. 

2.3 Provide policy input for media statements, press releases and social media posts relating to Scotland, which are managed by the Press Officer and Digital Marketing Officer.

2.4 Develop an expert knowledge of policy issues affecting Advice UK members, keep up to date on the political and legislative environment and identify opportunities to use these to further Advice UK’s strategic objectives. 

2.5 Represent AdviceUK at policy and/or sector meetings and events.

3. Public affairs 

3.1 Roll out a programme of public affairs work including Scottish parliamentary engagement to promote AdviceUK’s strategic priorities. 

3.2 Build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders across the Scottish Government and parliament, local and decision makers, non-governmental bodies and other relevant stakeholders. 

3.3 Champion an evidence based approach to all Advice UK’s advocacy and external relations work, drawing on research and member insight to inform our campaign messages. 

3.4 Ensure regular opportunities for Advice UK members in Scotland to feed into our public affairs and advocacy work, and regular communications on our impact, to demonstrate how we amplify their voice. 

3.5 Monitor and evaluate public affairs work, including collecting relevant metrics, to report back on our success and inform future campaigns. 

4. Research and data 

4.1 Work with Policy, Programme and Media (PPM) colleagues as well as the wider AdviceUK team to develop the evidence base needed to inform our policy and campaigns work in Scotland. 

4.2 Work with the Research and Policy Analyst to carry out analysis that identifies emerging trends in the Scottish advice world and use this to provide evidence-based policy briefings and specific policy solutions.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with experience working in a policy role focused on food or related issues (climate, nutrition, health or education). You will have knowledge of the political landscape in the UK and experience working with or in government departments, academia and NGOs on a range of policy issues.

It is an exciting time in food policy, and in this role you’ll have opportunities to work across our national policy portfolio, whether its exploring the link between climate change and food prices, developing our proposition for a Good Food Bill, improving the Healthy Start scheme, or strengthening public sector procurement.

Management and Strategy

• Support the policy portfolio of campaigns and projects across our national policy areas, including on food prices and food inflation, our Good Food Bill campaign, Healthy Start and early years.

• Policy and research

Communications and campaigns

• Develop a comprehensive approach to dissemination of our policy outputs so they reach our intended audiences.
• Act as a local/regional media spokesperson, brief journalists, and respond to media queries.
• Contribute policy and evidence expertise to support campaign delivery.
• Contribute policy expertise to press releases, newsletters, web copy, podcasts and blogs.

Technical skills:

You’ll work closely with people affected by Parkinson’s, health care professionals and others to influence decision makers across Whitehall, Westminster and local health systems. 

As an experienced health, research and public policy leader, you will lead our policy, campaigning and NHS improvement professionals, both within their teams and across the devolved nations teams to build Parkinson’s UK’s reputation as a trusted, expert and determined partner and advocate for people affected by Parkinson’s.

You’ll oversee an annual budget of around £4 million, and a team of 45 people.

• Build detailed prospect profiles, including organisational background, alignment potential, decision-makers, and partnership opportunities.
• Maintain and update a robust cross industry prospect pipeline, ensuring all prospects are accurately categorised and tracked.
• Undertake competitor and sector analysis to identify emerging trends and opportunities, supporting Sands’ strategic positioning.
• Map networks and connections (internal and external) to support the expansion of Sands’ business development reach.

2. Outreach, Marketing & Engagement Support

• Support initial outreach to prospective partners, including email approaches, LinkedIn engagement, and follow-up communications.
• Support the planning and delivery of targeted online marketing activity to increase organisational visibility among corporate audiences.
• Develop engaging content for outreach - such as partner briefs, email templates, and introductory decks.
• Collaborate with the Engagement and Communications teams to ensure all external messaging reflects Sands’ brand and partnership priorities.

3. Database, Reporting & Administration

• Maintain accurate, GDPR compliant records on Sands’ CRM, ensuring all research, outreach and cultivation activity are fully logged and auditable.
• Produce regular reports and dashboards to support team activity planning and income forecasting.
• Track deadlines for proposals, reporting, stewardship requirements, and internal consultations.
• Support due diligence checks for all new prospects and record documentation in line with Sands’ ethical and data protection policies.

4. Partnership Materials, Proposals & Case Studies

• Support the creation of high-quality partnership assets, including pitch decks, proposals, stewardship packs, and impact summaries.
• Collate relevant organisational information and stories to support the development of compelling case studies.
• Work with internal colleagues to gather content on Sands’ programmes, events, research, and family stories to support tailored partnership pitches.
