What does this role do?
As Head of Supporter Development, you will:

• Lead and transform how we engage with supporters, embedding a cultural shift and supporting teams to deliver on strategic objectives,
• Implement the supporter engagement strategy, including producing annual plans and a programme for regularly monitoring and evaluation activity, continuously improving the approach to enhance outcomes,
• Ensure all fundraising activities and products are audience led, using audience insight to inform decision making and ensuring high standards are upheld,
• Develop and manage budgets for supporter engagement activity.

This role is a fixed term, family leave cover contract until March 2027. Interviews for this role are provisionally scheduled for week commencing 1st June 2026, and will take place on Teams.

This is a broad and varied role across Policy, Public Affairs and Communications, with a specific focus on the Drive Project:

The Drive Project is the Drive Partnership’s flagship intervention for high-risk, high-harm and serial perpetrators of domestic abuse. The core mission of the Drive Project is to stop the cycle of domestic abuse and increase the immediate and long-term safety of adult and child victim-survivors. The Drive Project does this by partnering with agencies and local perpetrator services to disrupt, challenge, and change the behaviour of high-risk, high-harm and serial perpetrators, and working closely with IDVAs and victim-survivor services to always centre the safety and needs of victim-survivors, in line with the Respect Standard.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Communications

• Support the Drive Partnership’s communications and stakeholder engagement regarding the Drive Project.
• Lead central support on communications for Drive Project partners and build strong working relationships across network, ensuring both policy and communications expertise and input flows both ways.
• Work closely with internal and external partner colleagues to support the safe and effective roll-out of the Drive Project across England and Wales.
• Support the delivery of the Drive Partnership’s communications plan, including website content, social media, newsletters, and events.
• Develop and maintain communications and branding guidelines and support the Drive Partnership team and network of partners to use correctly.
• Support the Policy, Public Affairs and Communications Manager in developing media relations, including media enquiries, drafting press releases and responses.
• Ensure the website is fit for purpose and up to date with relevant information and news.
• Ensure victim-survivor voice guides our communications thinking and output - engaging in a compassionate, considerate and effective way with victim-survivors through Pioneer interaction, colleagues and any other interaction we have in our daily work.
• Ensure service user (perpetrator) input is collated and utilised in a responsible and safe way – always centring victim-survivors and considering their safety within this work.
• Project and promote our values – through considered language, inclusivity and equality in Drive Partnership communications.

Policy and Public Affairs

• Support the Policy, Public Affairs and Communications Manager to develop and promote policy positions, drawing on the expertise of the partnership.
• Lead and coordinate policy input into the Government’s strategic approach to perpetrators, particularly through influencing on the Drive Partnership’s key recommendations within its Call for Further Action.
• Identify and act on policy opportunities to promote best practice in perpetrator interventions – including both risk management and behaviour change, such as select committee enquiries, consultations, Bills, news developments.
• Build relationships with politicians, voluntary sector, civil servants and professional bodies, deputising for the Policy, Public Affairs and Communications Manager in key meetings where required.
• Support the coordination of sector and stakeholder forums to enhance collaboration towards a more strategic approach to perpetrators of domestic abuse.

Internal

• Play a role in the development of the team, nurturing and drawing on the talents of others.
• Maintain an accurate and secure audit trail of all relevant communication and ensure that all work is compliant with data protection law.

JOB PURPOSE  

To set up and manage our policy and public affairs activities in Scotland ensuring AdviceUK has a strong voice, so we can secure policy change to benefit organisations delivering advice and the communities they serve. The post holder will be responsible for establishing AdviceUK’s first policy and influencing strategy for Scotland, including through developing policy solutions informed by strong evidence and rooted in member experience, and leading effective political and stakeholder engagement which will influence change. They will work closely with colleagues across the UK to join up policy, influencing and communications work. 

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

1.Strategy 

1.1 Develop AdviceUK’s first policy and influencing strategy for Scotland, through consultation with members and stakeholders and analysis of the landscape and opportunities in Scottish policy making. 

1.2 Put plans in place to roll out a specific programme of proactive and reactive policy work to further AdviceUK’s strategic aims in Scotland and represent the voices of Scottish members. 

1.3 Devise measures to monitor the impact of our policy and influencing work in Scotland and report back to staff, trustees, members and stakeholders about the difference we are making. 

2.Policy development 

2.1 Collaborate with AdviceUK members, partners, sector stakeholders and 

beneficiaries to develop clear, concise and authoritative policy positions on key issues. 

2.2 Produce high-quality, well-argued policy materials based on data and evidence, including reports, select committee responses, evidence statements, briefings and responses to Scottish Government consultations. 

2.3 Provide policy input for media statements, press releases and social media posts relating to Scotland, which are managed by the Press Officer and Digital Marketing Officer.

2.4 Develop an expert knowledge of policy issues affecting Advice UK members, keep up to date on the political and legislative environment and identify opportunities to use these to further Advice UK’s strategic objectives. 

2.5 Represent AdviceUK at policy and/or sector meetings and events.

3. Public affairs 

3.1 Roll out a programme of public affairs work including Scottish parliamentary engagement to promote AdviceUK’s strategic priorities. 

3.2 Build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders across the Scottish Government and parliament, local and decision makers, non-governmental bodies and other relevant stakeholders. 

3.3 Champion an evidence based approach to all Advice UK’s advocacy and external relations work, drawing on research and member insight to inform our campaign messages. 

3.4 Ensure regular opportunities for Advice UK members in Scotland to feed into our public affairs and advocacy work, and regular communications on our impact, to demonstrate how we amplify their voice. 

3.5 Monitor and evaluate public affairs work, including collecting relevant metrics, to report back on our success and inform future campaigns. 

4. Research and data 

4.1 Work with Policy, Programme and Media (PPM) colleagues as well as the wider AdviceUK team to develop the evidence base needed to inform our policy and campaigns work in Scotland. 

4.2 Work with the Research and Policy Analyst to carry out analysis that identifies emerging trends in the Scottish advice world and use this to provide evidence-based policy briefings and specific policy solutions. 

5. General duties

About the Role

Main Purpose of the Job

• Build detailed prospect profiles, including organisational background, alignment potential, decision-makers, and partnership opportunities.
• Maintain and update a robust cross industry prospect pipeline, ensuring all prospects are accurately categorised and tracked.
• Undertake competitor and sector analysis to identify emerging trends and opportunities, supporting Sands’ strategic positioning.
• Map networks and connections (internal and external) to support the expansion of Sands’ business development reach.

2. Outreach, Marketing & Engagement Support

• Support initial outreach to prospective partners, including email approaches, LinkedIn engagement, and follow-up communications.
• Support the planning and delivery of targeted online marketing activity to increase organisational visibility among corporate audiences.
• Develop engaging content for outreach - such as partner briefs, email templates, and introductory decks.
• Collaborate with the Engagement and Communications teams to ensure all external messaging reflects Sands’ brand and partnership priorities.

3. Database, Reporting & Administration

• Maintain accurate, GDPR compliant records on Sands’ CRM, ensuring all research, outreach and cultivation activity are fully logged and auditable.
• Produce regular reports and dashboards to support team activity planning and income forecasting.
• Track deadlines for proposals, reporting, stewardship requirements, and internal consultations.
• Support due diligence checks for all new prospects and record documentation in line with Sands’ ethical and data protection policies.

4. Partnership Materials, Proposals & Case Studies

• Support the creation of high-quality partnership assets, including pitch decks, proposals, stewardship packs, and impact summaries.
• Collate relevant organisational information and stories to support the development of compelling case studies.
• Work with internal colleagues to gather content on Sands’ programmes, events, research, and family stories to support tailored partnership pitches.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with experience working in a policy role focused on food or related issues (climate, nutrition, health or education). You will have knowledge of the political landscape in the UK and experience working with or in government departments, academia and NGOs on a range of policy issues.

Job Description:

Management and Strategy

• Support the policy portfolio of campaigns and projects across our national policy areas, including on food prices and food inflation, our Good Food Bill campaign, Healthy Start and early years.
• Work closely with the Policy and Advocacy Manager to develop and implement project plans and deliverables across these areas
• Maintain a careful record of our policy impact according to our agreed metrics within our Monitoring Evaluation and Learning framework.
• Policy and research
• Synthesize evidence for and play a significant part in the development of position statements/briefings/reports, working closely with the wider policy team and our designer.
• Support the Public Affairs lead to develop policy products for use in parliamentary engagement.

About the role

Reporting in to the Head of Humanitarian, the Humanitarian Policy and Advocacy Lead is senior position that will lead Christian Aid’s humanitarian programme policy and advocacy work, aligning with organisational values and goals to maximise impact.

The post-holder will be responsible for shaping, leading and promoting our humanitarian policy and advocacy, and will represent Christian Aid at the global level in raising the organisation’s visibility and influencing humanitarian policy and practice.

The role will be Christian Aid’s representative at the humanitarian leadership level within the DEC and will work with the Head of Humanitarian in engagement with the ACT Alliance, and will enable our Multi-Country Cluster (MCC) leadership team to develop and deliver humanitarian programming that brings about positive change in humanitarian action and practice.

Some of the main areas of responsibility for the Humanitarian Policy and Advocacy Lead include:

• Lead on the development of Humanitarian Policy and Advocacy and ensure it is aligned with the overall Policy and Influencing strategy and connected across the Impact Department and wider organisation.
• Develop and implement best practice in humanitarian response across MCCs, providing sector experience to support teams and ensure an enabling culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Identify and source technical support for MCCs and partners where needed in our humanitarian signature priority programme areas, making the best use of limited resources.
• Act as a key influencer in sector policy and practice with regards to level of support to locally led responses amplifying impact.
• Drive an increased visibility of Christian Aid and the work of partners across regional and global platforms, looking for opportunities to share learning and amplify impact.
• Foster and build on our strong and dynamic relationship with the DEC, evidence of high performance across DEC appeals.
• Lead engagement with international humanitarian policy forums and stakeholders to drive meaningful change and improvements in the humanitarian eco system with reference to humanitarian advocacy priorities around localisation, accountability to affected populations, disaster resilience, anticipatory action, survivor-led response and cash-based responses to emergencies.
• Ensure learning and feedback is captured and promoted to enable a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Foster a culture of innovation where Christian Aid is on the front foot in developing and piloting new people-centred humanitarian approaches that build on existing progressive ways of working.
• Deputises for the Head of Humanitarian in their absence.

As an experienced health, research and public policy leader, you will lead our policy, campaigning and NHS improvement professionals, both within their teams and across the devolved nations teams to build Parkinson’s UK’s reputation as a trusted, expert and determined partner and advocate for people affected by Parkinson’s.

You’ll oversee an annual budget of around £4 million, and a team of 45 people.

Join CSP’s Policy and Public Affairs team

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced policy officer to join our successful Policy and Public Affairs team.

In this role, you will help raise the profile of physiotherapy and other allied health professionals in Westminster and support CSP’s work to influence government and civil servants. You will manage the day to day running of the secretariat for the APPG on allied health professionals working to deliver a programme of meetings, events, Inquiries and writing policy papers and reports.

A key aspect of the role is building strong relationships with parliamentarians, CSP members and especially with our member-led regional networks and country boards, which will involve frequent in-person engagement and travel. You will also contribute to CSP-wide campaigns and events, working collaboratively with colleagues in policy and communications teams.

About you

You will have first-class communication skills, be confident, self-motivated and able to work effectively across directorates. Educated to degree level, or equivalent, you will bring expertise in at least one, and ideally several, of the following areas: Public Affaires, policy writing, stakeholder engagement and event management.

You will be comfortable managing a varied workload, working independently while remaining closely connected to a hybrid team, and travelling when required to support events in Westminster.

Hybrid working

The CSP operates a hybrid working model, allowing employees to work between their home and the office. While we do not stipulate the number of days in the office, employees can decide, through discussions with their line managers, how, when, and where they work best, balancing the needs of the CSP, the team, and themselves. Employees are still expected to attend the office for in-person meetings when required for their role and the organisation. Homeworking is subject to meeting homeworking assessment requirements, which include a minimum broadband speed of 18Mbps and a dedicated space to work from.

Flexible working

We currently have employees working part-time, job share, compressed hours, adjusted start and finish times, and other non-standard working patterns. OUTpatients is seeking an experienced Education and Policy Manager who can help us reach people all over the UK with our sector leading education and policy advisory.
