About You:

Title: Head of People and Talent

Nature of the Role: 0.8 FTE or Full time. Permanent (fixed term considered if preferable)

Working Pattern: Minimum of 3 days per week on campus if full time (2 days a week if contracted to 0.8 FTE)

Core Hours from 10am - 4pm

Annual Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 (pro-rata)

Pension: Workplace pension, employer contribution @ 10%

Holidays: 27 days per annum (with 3 additional days reserved for Christmas and New Year closure days)  [pro-rata for part time]

What’s your mission?

In this role you will embody Ada’s culture, being responsible for the wellbeing of the staff and attracting new talent as well as providing effective leadership and line management of the People function. Reporting directly into the CEO, you will act as a trusted, strategic partner, ensuring alignment on both organisation and people capabilities, fostering a culture of high performance and growth. You will regularly attend Executive Leadership Team (ELT) meetings and engage with Board Members and have the opportunity to harness the experience and expertise of some of our private sector pro bono supporters to drive forward the vital People Management agenda at Ada, which is a core pillar of our ‘Evolving to Ada 2.0’ strategy and critical to scaling our impact.

You will be responsible for leading the People and Talent team across our London and Manchester campuses, and ensuring relevant processes are followed as well as driving forward people management priorities and initiatives. This is a hands-on operational role that will also stretch your strategic thinking and planning skills. The role is expected to evolve in seniority as you build out the team underneath you in line with the College’s planned growth in learner volumes and staff headcount. The postholder will be expected to make regular visits to the college’s campus in Manchester/London.

Key responsibilities of this role include:

● Management -

○ Partner the Executive Leadership Team to lead on the implementation of Ada’s people management strategy as part of our new organisational strategy.

○ You will set clear priorities and focus areas for the People team, effectively managing performance, and supporting development.

○ Provide effective day-to-day support for the Executive Leadership Team and line managers to ensure the College runs smoothly, is attracting ever an ever better quality of candidates for vacant roles and is HR compliant at all times.

○ Design and implement initiatives that enhance employee satisfaction and retention, promoting a positive and inclusive culture for Ada.

● Building our Employer Brand -

○ Working with internal and external stakeholders, work to ensure we significantly improve our ability to attract and retain the best talent in a competitive market.

  Create a transparent and authentic brand externally to help Ada to welcome more amazing people.

● Employee Relations -

○ Advise line managers and staff on best practices for managing employee relation cases and conflict resolution using external best practice and up to date legislation.

○ Partner with the ELT on complex, high risk cases or disputes to deliver a pragmatic outcome that reduces risk to Ada.

○ Stay up to date with relevant employment laws and regulations, and ensure compliance in all employee activities while upholding Ada’s organisational values.

● Policies & Procedures -

○ Provide support and guidance to line managers and the Executive Leadership Team. Acting as a trusted advisor in all cases including performance management, conflict resolution and disciplinary cases ensuring Ada’s policies and procedures are adhered to at all times.

○ Act as the leader on topics/requests related to policies, employment law and compliance.

○ Ensure policies and procedures are reviewed regularly and are up to date.

● Systems & Processes -

○ Provide support on change management programmes including restructures, ensuring change processes are implemented smoothly and risks are identified and mitigated in a timely manner.

○ Drive adoption of the recently implemented HR platform (i.e. AccessHR). Ensure all staff adhere to the agreed processes including performance management.

    Plans are to effectively link performance management to reward and recognition.

○ Proactively review existing processes and identify areas to introduce efficiencies.

● Diversity & Inclusion - Partner with the Executive Leadership Team, and lead on the implementation of the EDI action plan. In time, evolve this into a more formal strategy that ensures Ada remains an inclusive and welcoming employer across our campuses for all our staff and other stakeholders.

Key Skills and experience required

• A minimum of 4 years previous People/HR generalist and partnering experience preferably with some experience of working in schools, colleges, universities, training providers or education management organisations.
•  Level 7 CIPD qualified, or similar experience is essential Demonstrable experience of improving talent attraction, selection and development
•  Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of UK employment law and experience in handling complex ER cases, Employment Tribunals, ACAS Conciliations and Settlements. 
•  Demonstrable experience of working with leaders on complex people related issues.
•  High level of integrity, discretion and confidentiality.
•  Evidence of delivering HR solutions, including strategic HR initiatives and change projects.
• Strong problem solving and decision making ability, with a proactive and solutions oriented mindset and approach.
• Excellent leadership skills with a track record of building and/or maintaining a high-performance culture and role modelling excellent behaviours.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
•  Highly collaborative with the ability to work effectively with colleagues across the function, showing a united front to stakeholders.
•  Ability to balance commercial outcomes with mitigation of business risks.
•  Willingness to travel to the different College sites on a monthly basis, often involving overnight stays
•  A personal commitment to safeguarding and learner/colleague wellbeing.
•  Willingness to undergo pre-employment checks, including an enhanced DBS check.

About the Service

North London Rape Crisis offers range of services to women, trans women, and non-binary people age 13 + who are experiencing or have experienced any form of sexual violence in their lives. We offer a safe and non-judgmental space to women living, working, or studying across London boroughs of Westminster, Kensington and Chelsea, Camden, Islington, Barnet, Enfield and Haringey.

Our expert team provides helpline support, advocacy (ISVA) support including specialised ISVAS for women with multiple disadvantages and young women. We also provide one to one and group counselling to survivors as well as short term one to one counselling support to survivor’s family and friends. It is an inclusive service and support all ages, disabilities, sexualities, gender identities including non-binary, ethnicities, and religions.

The service will be open 9.00am to 5.00 pm however, appointments can be arranged outside of these if required.

About the Role

The role of Independent Sexual Violence Advocate (ISVA) is with the Rape Crisis service in North London. You will work within a multi-disciplinary team to provide a pro-active emotional, practical and advocacy support for survivors who have experienced any form of sexual violence and are engaging (or considering engaging) with the criminal justice system.

About You

The ideal candidate will have completed ISVA training, or have a willingness to undertake ISVA training, and have experience of supporting women affected by sexual violence. You will have a clear understanding of the effects of and issues facing women who have experienced sexual violence, as well as understanding of the Criminal Justice System. You will be able to communicate with people from a range of backgrounds and create good working relationship with service users as well as partner agencies.

Job Purpose:

The Senior Psychologist/Psychotherapist will lead the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based psychological interventions for service users with complex trauma presentations. As a clinical specialist, they will provide expert assessment, formulation, and intervention, ensuring that psychological care is tailored to the needs of asylum seekers and refugees.

A key aspect of the role is clinical leadership, including supervision and training for psychologists, and the assistant psychologist and caseworker to ensure psychological principles inform all aspects of service delivery. The postholder will drive the integration of trauma-informed practices, contribute to clinical governance, and support outcome monitoring. They will also play a pivotal role in supporting pathways for stabilisation and trauma-focused therapy.

Working closely with the Clinical Lead to uphold clinical standards, the Senior Psychologist will focus on the direct provision and supervision of psychological interventions, rather than broader operational and service management functions. Additionally, they will engage with external stakeholders to promote best practices in psychological care and facilitate seamless referral pathways.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

Knowledge:

• Clinical/ Forensic/ Counselling Psychologist with HCPC registration or Psychotherapist with UKCP, BACP or BABCP accreditation.
• Further advanced training in relevant specialist treatment delivery (e.g. CBT, EMDR, NET)
• Advanced expertise in complex trauma, PTSD, and comorbid mental health conditions, particularly in refugee and asylum-seeking populations.
• In-depth understanding of trauma-informed care models, stabilization techniques, and stepped-care approaches.
• Extensive knowledge of evidence-based trauma therapies, including TF-CBT, CBT, EMDR, NET, and third-wave approaches.
• Strong working knowledge of safeguarding policies, risk assessment protocols, and ethical guidelines (e.g., HCPC, BPS, UKCP, BACP, BABCP, NICE guidelines).
• Understanding of mental health policy, advocacy, and service commissioning within humanitarian and third-sector settings.

Skills:

• Highly developed clinical assessment, formulation, and treatment planning skills for complex cases.
• Strong leadership, mentoring, and clinical supervision abilities to support junior psychologists and multidisciplinary teams.
• High-level risk assessment and crisis intervention competencies.
• Strong interdisciplinary teamwork, with the ability to liaise effectively with external agencies and humanitarian stakeholders.
• Proficiency in research, audit, and data-driven service evaluation to support evidence-based practice.
• Highly developed skills in effectively communicating complex, ethically sensitive, and clinically relevant information both orally and in writing to clients, their families, carers, and professional colleagues across different healthcare and humanitarian settings.

Experience:

• At least three years of post-qualification experience, with significant experience delivering trauma-focused therapy.
• Experience providing clinical leadership and supervision to Psychologists, Assistant Psychologists, or trainees.
• Demonstrated ability to manage high-risk and complex clinical cases.
• Strong record of multidisciplinary team collaboration and policy engagement.
• Experience working with refugees, asylum seekers, or survivors of trafficking and torture.
• Research, service evaluation, or policy development experience.
• Prior work in humanitarian, NGO, or third-sector organisations would be an asset to the role.
• Experience in the practical use of personal IT equipment and Microsoft Office 365 suite. The ability to effectively collaborate and communicate within a hybrid working environment utilising Teams, SharePoint, One Drive and Yammer.

Engagement Coordinator 

Brighton and Hove Speak Out is a dynamic local advocacy charity. We support people with learning disabilities to have a voice and choice and control over their lives through providing a range of advocacy services and community projects.    

We are seeking to appoint a part time Advocacy and Engagement Coordinator to deliver a programme of engagement and consultation activity. The post holder will support people with learning disabilities to have their say about local services, share their experience about how support and services impact on their lives and make recommendaitions for improvements.

The role involves organising outreach and consultation on different issues. The post holder will support a group of self-advocates (the Link Group) to take part in planning, running and reporting to the Learning Disability Partnership Board.  

The Post Holder will also support health advocacy, training and awareness raising at Speak Out. They will support the ‘Thumbs Up' campaign led by a group of Speak Out members.

About you

The successful candidate will need excellent communication and organisational skills, including report writing, and will be able to manage a complex workload. Experience of advocacy and/or group work with vulnerable clients is essential. Knowledge of learning disability services and experience of working with people with learning disabilities is an advantage.

Overview

FearFree delivers services across the Southwest for victims, children and perpetrators of domestic abuse, sexual violence and stalking, with the aim to break the cycle of abuse and support all to live free from fear. We provide trauma responsive support, and this post will be fundamental to ensuring service users, stakeholders and partners experience this in our daily delivery.

The aim of the Interpersonal Trauma Service is to improve the health, wellbeing and safety of people who have been exposed to trauma arising from sexual violence and abuse and/or domestic abuse.

You will work across a specified number of GP practices, to offer support to health professionals working in practices, people who have experience of interpersonal trauma arising from sexual violence and abuse and/or domestic abuse, as well as a service for people at risk of perpetrating abuse.

You and the team will provide training to GP surgeries to improve identification, enquiry, and response for patients. You and your team will also support adults and children who have been impacted by interpersonal trauma with emotional and practical support, focusing on trauma stabilisation. The team will be responsible for facilitating timely access to further appropriate support services where needed.

FearFree is committed to flexible and hybrid working and this role will be a mix of home based and office based, alongside requiring travel to GP practices and for multi-agency meetings and other deliverables.

This role may include evening and weekend work when required.

Key Responsibilities

• To provide specialist, individual and needs-led domestic abuse and sexual violence advocacy and support to patients who are or have experienced, who are referred from participating practices or self-refer, and to provide onward referrals where appropriate. 
• Provide direct assessment, casework support, advice, information, and advocacy through telephone contact, and/or meetings at the relevant practice. 
• Provide support to increase people’s personal safety, and that of any children, and inform them of their rights and options in terms of housing, legal and welfare rights.
• To provide signposting and onward referrals to patients.
• To provide ongoing specialist advice and support around Domestic Abuse (DA) and Sexual Violence (SV) to practice teams. 
• To encourage general practice health professionals to ask patients about their experience of abuse and respond, record, safety check and refer. 
• To provide feedback on case outcomes to referring clinicians. 
• To collect and collate performance and monitoring data for reporting purposes. 
• Provide in-house training and refresher training for general practice teams on understanding, recognising, and responding to DA and SV. 
• Develop good working relationships and liaise with outside agencies where needed.
• Keep accurate records of all referrals received and of work done with or on behalf of service users. 
• Deliver DA and SV training to clinicians and non-clinical staff in participating general practices.
• Develop a good relationship with all general practice staff and work effectively as part of the practice team. 
• Contribute to monitoring and evaluation of the programme collecting required data and producing written reports as requested.

We are seeking someone to increase our internal human resources capacity, provide support for our Operations and Core services function, including supporting the rollout of operations led projects, and to take responsibility for servicing the committees which advise and oversee the BSA.

About the role

Operations (part of the Core Services Team) provides comprehensive support across Human Resources, Compliance, and Risk Management, Data Management, and Staff Engagement and supports the delivery of strategic objectives across the organisation. The role will report to the Operations Manager for operations duties.

The BSA’s Council is responsible for determining the organisation’s overall vision and strategy and ensuring good governance. Council assumes the trustee responsibilities set out by the Charity Commission regulator. They meet four times a year, usually in London with options for Council Members to attend online. Papers are prepared by BSA staff and contractors and circulated around a week in advance of the meeting. The role will report to the CEO for Council, Governance and Committee duties.

Key responsibilities

Human Resources

• Act as the primary contact for HR service requests, escalating complex issues to the Operations Manager or outsourced HR supplier as appropriate.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date HR records and employee files across all HR systems, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.
• Monitor and coordinate completion of mandatory compliance training

Governance and Committees

• Lead the scheduling and logistics of Council and other committee meetings, including venue booking, catering, AV and calendar management.
• Support governance record-keeping, including minute-taking, updating statutory documents as directed by the Chair and Chief Executive, and maintaining Council member records such as declarations, attendance, and terms of office.
• Ensure regulatory compliance, by maintaining Charity Commission online records and, where appropriate working with the Chief Executive, and others as appropriate in preparing formal reports for submission to relevant regulators.

Data Management

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date HR records and employee files across all HR systems, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.
• Support the Operations Manager, Internal Project Lead and teams in co-ordinating the further rollout and adoption of Salesforce and other data management systems

Compliance and Risk Management

• Policy and Documentation Management: Ensure all internal documentation (policies, staff handbook, etc.) is regularly updated and accessible on SharePoint and the company website where appropriate.
• GDPR and Data Protection: Monitor and support GDPR compliance, with a focus on data retention and secure handling of personal information.
• Compliance and Risk Logs: Assist in maintaining up-to-date compliance and risk logs, reporting issues to the Operations Manager as needed.
• Health and Safety (H&S): Support the Office Manager in coordinating staff H&S documentation and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
• Audit Preparation: Coordinate the collection and organisation of documents and information required for annual audits.

Staff Engagement and Additional Responsibilities

• Assist the Office Manager in planning and implementing staff social and engagement activities.
• Undertake additional tasks as reasonably required by the line manager, within the scope of the role.

We are looking for a GM RASSO Pathfinder Worker to join the team at MASH and provide support to women.

We believe in choice and empowerment, focusing on the material impact and reality of women’s lives, and how we can work with women to create the change that works for them. MASH is the only organisation in Greater Manchester which exists specifically to support women who sex work. Through our range of services we build trusted relationships with women to keep them safer, healthier and more equipped to take control of their lives.

The Pathfinder Partnership was established between specialist VCSE and NHS organisations to support survivors of sexual violence and abuse, who have additional and complex mental health needs that are impacting on their ability to address their sexual trauma. 

The partnership offers consultation, assessment, case management and therapeutic interventions to individuals referred in via the partner organisations. The team is made up of pathfinder workers, Highly Specialist Psychotherapists and has a small psychiatry provision. 

We are looking for a Pathfinder Worker to work within MASH with the aim of supporting women identified as potentially benefitting from a Pathfinder intervention to overcome obstacles in addressing their mental health needs and facilitating them to access the most appropriate mental health support or therapy.

How are staff supported to work remotely?  

VoiceAbility has a small number of offices. Employees including Team Leaders are homebased for Administration and meetings will be held online as well as in person in the relevant community.

Background

Chapter One is a dynamic, growing charity with a vision of a world in which all children have the literacy skills needed to thrive. Our mission is to close the reading gap by providing children with one-to-one support at the time they need it most. We work in twelve areas/regions of the UK and will support 3,800 children in 2025-26.

Our unique Online Reading Volunteer programme pairs struggling five to seven-year old (P2-4) readers with reading support volunteers who are working professionals. The volunteer ask is very focused: readers commit 30 minutes a week to read with a child using a bespoke digital platform for an entire academic year. The results are transformative, boosting children's reading confidence and ability. 

From a school perspective, online reading volunteers provide direct, meaningful literacy support for up to 10 pupils per class. The programme is particularly suitable for communities where it might be challenging to find parents and other volunteers who can commit to physically visiting schools to boost reading. Job Summary

Chapter One is seeking a Scotland Programme Manager who is an excellent communicator and is able both to motivate and support schools and teachers to implement our online reading volunteers programme, and also to ensure that the programme’s impact and benefit to disadvantaged communities is maximised throughout the academic year.

The post is ideal for someone looking for part-time, flexible, term-time only work from a home base and who is able to travel frequently in and around the Glasgow and Edinburgh areas. The postholder will be joining a team of established Programme Managers (also part-time) who work in different parts of the UK and will need to have some flexibility to work additional hours during busy autumn months, and conversely to work fewer hours during quieter periods of the year.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Effectively explain Chapter One’s online reading volunteer programme and its benefits to school leaders and teachers
• Install, setup and maintain Chapter One equipment in participating classrooms
• Fully understand the operation of the Chapter One platform and database and communicate this to others 
• Organise and conduct initial teacher training and follow-up
• Ensure a smooth initial launch of Chapter One’s programme in every classroom
• Liaise with colleagues performing technical and volunteer support roles
• Through regular visits to/contact with schools, provide on-going embedded professional learning and support to teachers throughout the year as needed  
• Proactively monitor classroom adherence/fidelity to the Chapter One model, including systematic review of data reports and volunteer feedback, taking proactive action to resolve problems that arise
• Analyse and manipulate data (largely in Google sheets) to produce reports and identify trends
• Create regular data summaries for all participating classrooms
• Lead annual review meetings for senior leadership at participating schools
• Support programme monitoring, evaluation and research as required
• Coordinate in person and virtual school ‘visits’ of volunteer teams to classrooms where necessary. This may include opportunities for Chapter One children to visit the office of the volunteers.
• Liaison with corporate partners as required
• Weekly communication and status updates with Senior Programme Manager(s) and wider team
• As a new school year approaches, secure commitments from returning schools and find and target new schools to join Chapter One’s programme
