SLRA is a well established local migrant support organisation working alongside refugees, asylum seekers and other migrants who are at risk or in crisis due to immigration issues. Our committed, supportive team works alongside local volunteers to provide a range of services including advice and casework, supportive group sessions, youth casework and activities for families and young people. 

We are looking for a Youth Caseworker to work alongside young refugees, asylum seekers and other young migrants who are at risk or in crisis, to ensure that they can access their statutory rights and achieve their full potential. The Youth Caseworker will provide holistic casework, advice and practical support to young people aged 14 to 24 years, working closely with statutory and voluntary organisations to ensure that the immediate and longer-term needs of young people are met.

• Substantial experience of working with refugee, asylum seeking, unaccompanied asylum seeking and/or other migrant children and young people in the UK, along with experience of delivering casework, advice and advocacy support.

Summary

Introduction

Working within the Central Secretariat, the Safeguarding Structures Programme Director will lead a programme team to implement the new independent structures for the Church of England's safeguarding function.

About the Department

The Central Secretariat provides support to many of the governance bodies of the Church of England, including the General Synod, House of Bishops, Archbishops' Council and others. It also provides policy analysis and support on internal matters relating to the structure and governance of the Church of England.

What you'll be doing

The purpose of this role is to deliver the General Synod's motion of February 2025 to design, develop and deliver independent scrutiny of Church safeguarding and such operations as the Synod decides. It needs to do so in a way that brings stakeholders - victims and survivors, safeguarding staff across the Church, trustees and others - along with them, with a focus on delivering a system of safeguarding that commands greater confidence. And it needs to do so working through an executive chair and lead bishop.

You will lead a programme team that is in the process of being formed, and you'll report to the Director of the Central Secretariat, whilst also working through an Executive Chair (currently being recruited), the lead bishop for safeguarding and a Programme Board, and maintaining the confidence of the wider Church of England, including the General Synod, the House of Bishops and others.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the programme team to deliver an ambitious programme of policy development, legislation, restructure and new service development, being accountable for ensuring the programme meets objectives , delivers outcomes and realises benefits
• Support the Executive Chair and lead bishop to deliver the mandate of General Synod (February 2025) regarding the future of Church of England safeguarding - maintaining their confidence and engagement at all times, building a relationship of trust and collaboration.
• Lead the team to deliver the change:
• Design the change - agreeing the new models for scrutiny/complaints and operations
• Secure buy-in to the change - including from governance bodies, the General Synod, and other stakeholders
• Execute the change through a mixture of legislative, contractual and other arrangements; and
• Embed the change - through the communications, engagement, planning etc that will enable the programme to deliver the benefits
• Maintain excellent programme governance - both ensuring the programme is well-run, with appropriate internal governance (plans, resource management, risk management) and reports effectively to the Programme Board, and to governance bodies
• Develop excellent engagement with safeguarding staff and leaders across the Church
• Ensure that the proposals are designed from the user perspective - with a particular focus on victims, survivors and parish safeguarding officers
• Lead, support, encourage and manage, the programme team of approximately 6-8 people
• Develop key messaging and strategic engagement , overseeing internal and external engagement
• Equip and enable the lead bishop and Executive Chair to be effective senior sponsors and externally facing change champions, ensuring that they are fully briefed on all developments and properly supported prepared for their meetings.

About You

Along with a recognised Programme Management accreditation (e.g. APM, PMI, PRINCE2 or equivalent), you will also need to demonstrate:

• The ability to create the vision and a sense of the destination, and also to engage in the precise details of what needs to happen to deliver it;
• A track record of engaging with people who are impacted by substantial change;
• Ability and experience of working collaboratively with a programme team and wider stakeholders to achieve success
• Experience of working with senior stakeholders to deliver, and capacity to work with an Executive Chair and lead bishop or similar.

The Asylum Reform Initiative (ARI) is an alliance of nine leading national organisations collaborating to secure deep change towards a fair, compassionate and well-managed UK approach to refugees. Central to its strategy has been incubating, launching and backing the broader, public-facing Together With Refugees campaign coalition, now with over 600 national and local member groups from across the refugee sector and beyond. The ARI team provides a dynamic hub that supports Together With Refugees, coordinating the development and delivery of the coalition’s campaign strategy.

About the role

This is a new role. Working closely with the rest of the ARI team, One Strong Voice, and the newly formed Together With Refugees Steering Group, it will play a key part in shaping and delivering the ambitious next phase of the Together With Refugees strategy. The Deputy Director will lead on movement building, strengthening the coalition, and developing the reach, activation levels and effectiveness of the coalition’s grassroots campaign organising to secure changes in policy and practice. At the heart of this is the engagement and leadership of activists with lived experience as refugees, and of member groups that are led by and for refugees – so advancing the goal of a transition to leadership by people with lived experience across the coalition. Key to this work will be building the capacity, effectiveness and impact of the One Strong Voice network to support lived experience campaigners, organisations and leaders at all levels. The Deputy Director will also contribute to wider leadership of the team’s work including fundraising, support for – and accountability to – coalition leadership structures, and effective delivery of the team’s work programme.

The Finance Officer will join a small and dynamic team that covers Finance, Human Resources, IT and Business Operations. The Sutton Trust is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Finance Officer to join the team and provide crucial support on a range of key finance processes. The Team

This role will fit into the small Finance & Operations team and will be line managed by the Finance Manager.

Main Duties

• Maintaining the Purchase Ledger including processing supplier invoices, staff expense claims, grant and bursary payments, reconciling statements and making the relevant payments
• Maintaining the Sales Ledger including raising invoices and allocating receipts
• Cash management including checking bank transactions daily, allocating transactions on the accounting system and producing regular bank reconciliations. Paying in cheques and reconciling floats, if required
• Maintaining accurate records of both unrestricted and restricted fund transactions including receipts, grants, staff expenses, overheads and cash
• Providing timely and accurate financial support to the Programmes, Development and Research teams to assist them with forecasting, budgeting, reconciliation and (donor) reporting
• Supporting with the month end procedures such as balance sheet reconciliations, depreciation, month end adjustments, salary and overhead allocations
• Gathering monthly payroll information and reviewing monthly payroll reports

You will provide essential administrative support across a range of projects – from local economic development to archiving initiatives, working alongside senior managers and community members.

• You will nurture positive relationships and information flow within the project groups.

About the role: The main purposes of the Projects Coordinator role are:

• Coordinating the administration of all aspects of Tender’s training programmes for adults across the organisation, with a focus on the coordination of our INSET work with schools.
• Supporting the Head of Adult Services and Service Delivery Lead (Adult Services) to manage relationships with Tender’s internal and external stakeholders, including colleagues, workshop leaders, teachers/carers, delivery partners and other service professionals
• Monitoring and evaluating the impact of Tender’s training sessions

Success in this role would mean that, after six months, you will have:

• Successfully coordinated the delivery of our adult training sessions in schools and youth settings
• Built good working relationships with the schools and settings we work in, and the facilitators who deliver our work

A little bit about the role 

The trusts fundraiser role sits in the fundraising team within the external relations division. The fundraising team is responsible for raising between £1m and £1.5m in fundraised income annually. Frontline’s philanthropic income complements the significant contract income the charity receives from central and local government and enables the charity to carry out its broader mission to create social change for hundreds of thousands of disadvantaged children.

Since we were founded in 2013, Frontline has leveraged its success to build committed, high impact partnerships with a number of prestigious supporters including trusts and foundations, corporates and high net worth individuals. Our new fundraising strategy focuses on continuing to grow our network of supporters by maintaining excellent relationships with our current funders while identifying new potential donors, and at the same time testing and developing fundraising through community and events and individual giving.

We are now looking for a trusts fundraiser to help drive this strategy forward. The successful candidate will have experience in building relationships and securing income, helping us to build relationships with new trust funders while stewarding effectively our current trust and foundation relationships.

The successful candidate will work closely with the head of fundraising and the fundraising manager to implement Frontline’s annual fundraising plan, taking specific responsibility for researching, building relationships with, writing persuasive proposals to and securing income from new trust and foundation funders, while also providing excellent stewardship and reporting to current funders. The fundraising team is supported by the marketing, events and communications staff of the external relations division.

Some key responsibilities include:

• To develop a pipeline of potential trust funders through prospect research, the development of strong relationships, and writing of persuasive, creative and inspiring applications. 
• To arrange meetings and engagement opportunities with new funders, including ensuring that other Frontline staff are involved in supporting applications and pitches where appropriate. 
• To account manage a portfolio of existing trust supporters, providing excellent stewardship and planning and writing high quality grant and funding reports in line with reporting deadlines. 
• To work closely with other teams at Frontline, particularly the fellowship team and evaluation team, to develop proposals and reports, bring funders closer to our work and help inspire a culture of fundraising across the charity.

You will be an experienced fundraiser, with experience in securing grants from trusts and foundations in particular. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, target-driven and passionate about delivering persuasive cases for support through crafting creative and imaginative funding proposals.

A mission-driven and impact focused single programme NGO is seeking an Interim Finance Director for a 1 year maternity cover contract. The role is fully remote (from within the UK) and is full-time (5 days per week) for a 12 month contract. There may be the requirement to travel to Ghana on occasion throughout the 12 months. A busy role, in a vibrant charity headed by a passionate Founder/CEO – the role represents the chance to be part of a fantastic international organisation.

Salary is £63,000 - £70,000 depending on skills and experience, and the role would best suit a fully-qualified accountant with significant experience managing global finance teams within the international development sector.

The organisation’s mission is to get 3-6 year old children in rural Africa to thrive.  They have developed an award-winning Early Childhood Development programme, proven its impact through rigorous evaluation, and scaled it with governments in both Ghana and Uganda. It is currently reaching over 300,000 children per year, and we aim to reach 1 million children per year by 2028. The programme benefits both preschool age children and unlocks the potential of marginalised rural parents.

With around 100 staff globally, the interim Finance Director will manage a diverse team of finance professionals. Your role will include setting and managing budgets, supporting fundraising strategy and proposals, overseeing spend and financial controls and processes.  You will lead the finance team in Ghana made up of a Junior Finance Manager, four Finance Officers, two bookkeepers and a Procurement and Logistics Officer.  You will also manage the Uganda Finance Officer, and Global Finance Manager based in the UK.

The role will involve a mixture of hands-on accounting, complex donor reporting, consolidated and year-end accounts, budgeting, forecasting, scenario planning and financial modelling. Xero is used across the organisation, and financial year-end is December.

Duties include:

· Contribute to the development and implementation of the organisation’s scale and income-generation strategy, including exciting new opportunities for potential expansion to the southern regions in Ghana and exploring implementation of the programme in a new country.

· Develop and strengthen robust and flexible cost models (including sensitivity analyses/stress testing) to guide decisions around the pace and rate of scale, staffing & resource requirements, ensure value for money and maximise cost efficiencies.

· Develop robust budgets for new and renewal funder applications, considering complexities around funder restrictions, currency exchange and forecast economic conditions.

· Ensure that the organisation-wide financial systems, policies, procedures and internal controls and audits are robust, compliant and best practice to support current activities and future growth.

· Be pro-active in identifying ways to improve efficiencies and strengthen financial rigour, including leading on internal projects to enhance systems and processes to automate approvals and develop cost recovery models as we look to expand our operations outside Ghana and Uganda.

· Lead and coach the finance team to maintain and deliver operational excellence & financial rigour, closely monitoring the operating and financial reports against plans and budgets.

· Lead monthly financial reviews and oversee timely production of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports to the Board, donors and management team.

· Work with our internal operations and programmes team to develop financial systems so that direct financial support is provided to local government partners and they are able to take on responsibility for and account for programme budgets, including overseeing termly financial disbursements and reporting.

· Work with programmes team to build the capacity of local government partners in financial management, procurement, and budgeting so that they will eventually be able to fund and sustain the programme themselves. Create the budgets, financial information, documentation and materials for funding proposals.

· Oversee the creation of all financial reports for funders, ensuring mechanisms to track and report against restricted income are robust, and preparing financial analyses for funder

· Provide monthly and quarterly management accounts for trustees summarising current and forecast financial position for the year, cashflow analysis and KPI reporting.

· Attend trustee meetings, present information to the Board and liaise with Board members, including leading the quarterly Finance and Audit Committee meetings.

· Ensure that the Statutory Accounts for all entities are prepared, including internal information is collated and provided, external auditors are instructed and deliver to standard.

· Ensure all organisations are compliant with tax, regularity and legal requirements (e.g payroll, tax, NGO registration, insurance, registrations with regulatory authorities)

· Actively manage the performance and build the capacity of direct reports through training, coaching, holding 1to1s, setting performance goals, appraisals, developing new policies and practices.

Job Description

The Team Leader role has responsibility for the operational oversight of Redthread’s delivery within Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Woolwich,  and any community work undertaken in the surrounding area.  The role is to be part of the youth work team within Redthread with a primary focus on youth violence interventions in a health care setting. In this role you will lead the Youth Violence Intervention Programme team at the hospital. The team support young people aged, 11-25 years old, who present to hospital following an incident of violence of for whom them there are concerns around exploitation or extra-familial farm. You will have line management responsibility for the Youth Workers in the team, ensuring the service runs effectively for young people and also working with young people in the hospital as well as supporting them post discharge to ensure they have the support in place that they need and want. Main duties include:

• To recruit, manage, motivate, coach and develop a staff team including carrying out annual appraisals and regular supervision meetings.  To manage their health, safety and wellbeing.
• To promote and embed Catch22’s vision and values in local service delivery
• To ensure all service user information, interventions and other data as required by the contract are recorded on the relevant data management system in line with Catch22’s policy. 
• To manage operational risk, health and safety, governance and safeguarding issues in line with Catch22, Catch22 and Commissioner policies.

The Manna Day Centre is a drop-in Centre for homeless and vulnerably housed single men and women. It is run by a team of project workers, under the Director, who are responsible for its smooth operation. Basic Services offered include food, showers, clothing, housing & welfare advice, medical care, and access to laptops. The Centre opens to service users 7 days a week, 8.30am– 1.30pm. The working week for this post is Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 4.00pm each day.

The Senior Housing & Welfare Advice Worker must have a commitment to homeless people, which includes acceptance and respect. Responsibilities are shared among the team according to needs, skills and aptitudes. The annual salary is negotiable (depending on your experience) ranging from £33,775 to £41,359.
