The Marketing & Engagement Officer will support the Head of Commercial Activities and Volunteering and the wider organisation by leading on marketing, communications and community engagement. This role will focus on raising the profile of Age UK Lambeth, increasing awareness of our services, campaigns, and activities, and building stronger connections with our community to grow participation, partnerships, and support.
You will be responsible for planning and delivering marketing campaigns, creating compelling content, managing communications channels, and coordinating engagement initiatives and events. Alongside this, you will play a key role in developing supporter relationships and encouraging charitable giving, helping to increase regular and one-off donations through effective communications and community partnerships.
This is a creative and outward-facing role, requiring strong communication skills, relationship building, and the ability to balance both strategic planning and hands-on delivery.
General Duties
● Run, monitor, and maintain the organisation-wide marketing and promotional calendar to meet service, campaign, and engagement needs.
● Manage and grow all social media channels, following agreed marketing plans to build interest, followers, and engagement.
● Keep websites updated with relevant information, campaigns, events, and supporter opportunities.
● Coordinate the events calendar with national and international awareness days (e.g. Black History Month, International Women’s Day, World Mental Health Day).
● Create and update marketing materials (using tools such as Canva), ensuring brand consistency.
● Write and create engaging content by attending service activities, community events, and partner initiatives (occasional evenings/weekends).
● Produce and distribute newsletters (via MailChimp) for clients, supporters, councillors, and other stakeholders.
● Work with HR and management to deliver internal communications, including staff newsletters.
● Support the Lambeth Carers Card project, including marketing and business engagement.
● Represent marketing and communications in internal projects, ensuring a clear voice for the organisation.
● Develop and deliver an annual engagement plan to strengthen community connections and support.
● Plan, organise, and promote community and fundraising events, ensuring strong marketing and communications support.
● Build and nurture relationships with community groups, schools, local trusts, and businesses to encourage collaboration, sponsorship, and charitable giving.
● Support the recruitment, induction, and retention of volunteers for events and engagement activities, ensuring they feel recognised and valued.
● Increase supporter involvement and donations through targeted campaigns and creative digital content.
● Encourage the growth of regular donors by promoting supporter journeys and clear calls to action.
● Monitor event budgets and resources, ensuring activities are cost-effective and well-organised.
● Maintain accurate supporter and donor data on the charity’s database (Donorfy).
● Report on progress against marketing, engagement, and fundraising plans, using data to inform improvements.
In the first 6 months, you’ll
● Get fully up to speed with Age UK Lambeth’s services, campaigns, and engagement priorities.
● Review and manage the marketing and communications calendar, ensuring all campaigns and events are planned effectively.
● Audit and refresh social media channels and the website, creating content that promotes services, campaigns, and community activities.
● Support the planning and delivery of key community events and awareness campaigns.
● Build relationships with internal teams to understand their marketing, engagement, and supporter needs.
● Develop and begin implementing a community engagement plan, including opportunities to encourage supporter involvement and charitable giving.
● Start creating marketing materials, newsletters, and digital content that align with the organisation’s brand and objectives.
● Establish relationships with key community groups, businesses, and volunteers to support engagement activities and events.

JOB PURPOSE
We are looking for a creative, ambitious, and data-driven individual to join us as Senior Officer Digital Optimisation, specialising in UX/UI to lead on the development and delivery of UK for UNHCR’s testing and optimisation strategy to improve conversion rates and user experience online, including our website, donation pages, and various subdomains. The role reports to the Head of Digital Fundraising and manages all donation pages, digital testing and tracking, as well as a range of Google and optimisation products.
The primary purpose is to optimise digital performance through A/B testing across our websites and supporting teams to adopt and implement a test-and-learn framework in their digital channels to raise more funds for refugees.
An existing A/B testing roadmap has been developed and is ready for your input and ideas. However, testing and optimisation is not limited to fundraising and will aim to improve digital conversion and performance across teams, channels and platforms – playing a key part in UNHCR’s annual fundraising programme to enable UNHCR to deliver its vision of a world where every person forced to flee can build a better life.
You will work very closely with the digital fundraising team and wider Individual Giving team, as well as Communications and Philanthropy/ Corporate Partnership colleagues, our digital agency and international fundraising teams.

Role Responsibilities
- Develop and lead strategy for conversion rate optimisation, including the management of a testing roadmap to regularly execute A/B and multivariate tests and the use of new and existing technology, e.g. heatmapping to reduce friction rates and continuously improve and optimise conversions.
- Lead UX/UI across organisation, overseeing and implementing tests and analysis across teams to improve web experience and achieve required KPIs and objectives.
- Manage Google suite of tools and relevant relationships, ensuring everything is up to date and operating as necessary.
- Manage all donation pages and fundraising landing pages, building new pages, maintaining existing pages and closing pages; identify areas for improvement and work with relevant stakeholders to test and optimise.
- Utilise and manage suite of third-party platforms, e.g. Optimizely, Mouseflow, iRaiser, Sleeknote, Typeform to improve user experience and increase donations and conversions.
- Remain flexible and quickly respond to emergency situations, identifying fundraising opportunities and develop relevant comms and journeys as needed, collaborating with colleagues from across the organisation.
- Use data and insights to produce regular reports on performance against KPIs; use analytics to identify trends and optimise activities based on user behaviour.
- Manage and maintain vanity and tracking links across the organisation, utilising Google Tag Manager and UTMs to monitor performance and results.
- Stay up to date with digital best practices and technology, including sector trends, follow industry policies, including GDPR, PECR regulations, attending training and optimising plans accordingly.
- Stay up to date with issues affecting displaced communities, campaigns from international, content and reports from the field.
- Share creative and insights with UK colleagues, global teams, and HQ.
- Participate in training seminars, workshops, and skill shares where applicable.

We are seeking an organised and proactive person to provide day-to-day support across both functions, with around 70% of the role focused on HR. The HR and governance officer will support the organisation’s human resources, governance, and compliance functions, reporting to the COO. They will work to ensure that HR function and practices are fair, legally compliant, and aligned with organisational values, and will provide the COO with board management support. This role combines operational HR support with insight into governance processes, supporting a positive, inclusive, and legally compliant working environment.
Main Responsibilities
Human Resources:
● Coordinate recruitment processes, including drafting job descriptions and contracts, applicant screening, supporting interviews and collecting references;
● Manage staff onboarding processes and induction material;
● Maintain and update HR policies, the staff handbook, and training records in consultation with the COO;
● Manage the HR system (Natural HR or equivalent) and ensure records are accurate and up to date;
● Manage EAP scheme, training, and benefits (e.g. Climate Perks, glasses benefit, Cycle to Work scheme);
● Coordinate staff performance reviews and support line managers with induction, appraisal, and probation processes;
● Manage visa applications for qualifying staff;
● Ensure compliance with UK employment law and monitor HR legislation changes;
● Support the COO in embedding EDI principles in operational practice.
Governance:
● Provide administrative support to the Board and sub-committees, including scheduling meetings, supporting the COO in preparing papers, and minuting meetings;
● Manage trustee onboarding, training, and compliance requirements;
● Ensure timely and accurate submissions to the Charity Commission and Companies House
Finance:
● Process monthly credit card receipts;
● Budget management, including preparation and expenditure tracking.
General:
● Build collaborative relationships across the organisation.
● Support other operational projects as required.
Essential Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:
● Understanding of and a commitment to the mission of the charity
● Experience in HR administration and policy development;
● Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
● Strong interpersonal skills and excellent verbal, written and communication skills;
● Knowledge of UK employment law and charity governance;
● Excellent minute-taking and record-keeping skills;
● High level of IT literacy (Google Suite, Microsoft Office);
● Ability to work and communicate with staff at all levels within the organisation.
Desirable Skills:
● CIPD qualification level 5 (or working towards);
● Experience managing visa sponsorship processes;
● MHFA qualification;
● Experience working with Natural HR or equivalent HR system;
● Experience working in the media or non-profit sector
Further Information and Benefits
● Salary: £37,000 per annum pro rata
● Working Hours: 50% FTE of a four day working week (16 hours per week)
● Contract Type: 12 months fixed term, with potential for extension/renewal

● Hybrid Working: Full-time staff must attend the office at least two days per week. Attendance is mandatory on Tuesdays and staff can choose which other day(s) they attend.
● Pension: Defined contribution pension plan, with 5% employer contribution, 4% employee contribution, and 1% tax relief contribution into an ethically conscious pension plan.
