Job description

If you’re a natural communicator looking for a new opportunity to use your accrued knowledge and skills in a good cause, then this could be the perfect job for you.

Thirtyone:eight, the UK’s leading Independent Christian Safeguarding charity is looking for an experienced and knowledgeable Research and Policy Manager to be our representative on issues related to public policy and to lead on developing our research programme to enable the charity to maintain our role as pioneers and thought-leaders in safeguarding within the Christian and faith communities.

As part of an ongoing programme of investment in our infrastructure, and as we look to further develop our public engagement strategy, we need someone with demonstrable experience of working with quantitative and qualitative data and research methods, as well as excellent written and verbal communications skills to help us maintain a leading voice amongst policy-makers.

Working closely with our CEO and colleagues from across the organisation, this new role will take the lead on identifying opportunities and developing the charity’s response to public policy and research to bring about tangible legislative, policy and practice changes relating to safeguarding within the faith and charity sector.

With a background in policy and research, along with experience in parliamentary engagement, you will need a good working knowledge of churches, Christian faith organisations and charities and the impact of policy and legislation at a grass-roots level . In return you’ll get to work in a dynamic and rewarding environment and the opportunity influence public policy on issues of abuse and the safeguarding of vulnerable children and adults so that even more people can be protected from harm.
