As our Training Coordinator you predominantly support the Service Delivery Managers and Support Officer in the effective planning and delivery of wheelchair skills training to meet the strategic objectives. You will work directly with young people and their families, schools, colleagues, partner organisations and professionals, delivering accredited training across the UK.

The person
You will be part of the Young People’s Services Team who provide a range of services and activities for young wheelchair users and their families. You will have a friendly and professional approach to working with families and professionals and be highly organised to manage planning, delivery and relevant paperwork for all wheelchair skills services. The Pandemic Sciences Institute (PSI) is recruiting a Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Manager to provide expert support to two major programmes and also more broadly across PSI. This is an exciting new role which will concentrate on developing and embedding evaluation and learning practice within PSI’s activities, with significant opportunity to add value. Africa Pandemic Sciences Collaborative (working title)
You will support the development and implementation of a MEL workplan for this initiative, based around the Theory of Change (ToC) and working closely with collaborators at Science for Africa Foundation in Nairobi.
The International Severe Acute Respiratory and emerging Infection Consortium (ISARIC)
You will lead on the design, implementation, delivery and continuous improvement of a MEL framework based on the ISARIC ToC model, using research and insight to inform developments. This will include defining and implementing cross-team data collection processes and tools, creating and championing a strategy for dissemination of and access to ISARIC outputs, and preparing reports.
PSI-wide activity
You will deliver guidance to other groups within PSI. This will include supporting researchers to articulate impact in grant applications and publications, and providing MEL expertise to ongoing projects. You may also be required to work with colleagues across the wider Department of Medicine to prepare material for the Research Excellence Framework 2028.
It is essential that you hold a Master’s degree in a relevant discipline, alongside significant experience of planning and conducting monitoring and evaluation using different methodologies, gathering and analysing quantitative and qualitative data to demonstrate reach and significance of research impact. You will have excellent diplomacy, interpersonal and listening skills with proven ability to relate well to staff at all levels. Key Purpose:

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual to join our team as a Solution Developer. You will join us working 35 hours per week, on a permanent basis and will be based remotely. In return you will receive a salary of up to £43,003 per annum plus excellent benefits.
Since 1927, Cats Protection has helped thousands of cats each year, across the UK. As a community of volunteers, employees, supporters and partners, we’ve improved the lives of millions of cats and transformed the way millions of people see and care for cats.
The small yet busy Solution Delivery Team is expanding from six to ten employees, sitting within the IT Department. The team work within Cats Protection to identify issues and provide technical solutions, utilizing both off the shelf products or in-house developed solutions as required. Internal solutions are built using a range of technologies focused around the Azure Stack, including low code/no code solutions, C# and T-SQL code as required.
Responsibilities of our Solution Developer:
As a Solution Developer you will be working on a number of exciting new projects as well as helping to support and upgrade existing applications. This role gives the post holder exposure to Cloud First development work and the opportunity to work with the latest technology.
Current projects include:
- Updating our Neutering Finance system to move from a paperbased system towards an electronic version
- Replacing our CRM, a system at the heart of many of our processes and data flows, and integrating it with a number of new and existing systems
- The redevelopment/migration of existing systems into fully cloud based systems.
What we’re looking for in our Solution Developer:
- Significant experience in software development using C# and TSQL or another development skill involving systems implementation
- Experience in functional and automated testing, producing test driven development
- Demonstratable knowledge of Azure Stack development, specifically around pipelines, functions, logic apps and service buses
- Experience working in an agile development environment
- The ability to apply specific quality standards to all tasks undertaken to ensure that deliverables are accurate and complete
- To show understanding for the needs of the internal or external customer and keeping these in mind when taking actions or making decisions
- To identify gaps in the available information required to understand a problem or situation and able to devise a means of resolving them

This role sits within the Development team, a sub-team of Philanthropy, at Alzheimer’s Society and plays a vital role in the success of our Insurance United Against Dementia campaign. Insurance United Against Dementia (IUAD) is a senior volunteer led industry initiative which has raised an incredible £9million to date. We have ambitious plans to reach an initial £10million target within the next 12-months and to take the campaign into a second phase to achieve further impact.
Since the campaign launched in September 2017, we have seen significant success, raising awareness of dementia and the profile of Alzheimer’s Society and IUAD across the industry through corporate partnerships, philanthropy, industry events and owned activities.
We are looking for an individual who matches the ambition of the team and our industry supporter, someone with a personable style that can take ownership of the events fundraising stream and communication plans for the IUAD campaign.
The post holder offers unique opportunities to take responsibility for key initiatives, such as our flagship fundraising event, the Insurance Day for Dementia. The successful candidate will also lead on the securing, development, and delivery of activity within industry events and fundraising events led by industry supporters.
The role also leads key supporter and industry communications which help to celebrate successes and impact, while also growing awareness and engagement. This multi-faceted role will also support activations and exciting events, which are secured through our other development board and campaign, Sport United Against Dementia.

Recovery Workers ensure our clients are at the heart of everything we do. They are responsible for inspiring the people who use our services to lead their own recovery, while maintaining their tenancy and independence in the community. Together they co-produce a personalised support plan designed to address their specific needs and achieve their goals and aspirations. Recovery Workers also develop your leadership skills by taking on lead areas and extra responsibilities. The support work at our service varies a lot so not every day or support session is the same. The main focus of this role will be to work with us to continue developing a sustainable care home ministry. We have a desire to further extend our outreach into other care homes in the area from which it is anticipated there will be missional and development opportunities. There may also be further pastoral opportunities within the Newbury area.
This role is an important part of promoting our mission to Hungerford, Newbury & Thatcham and as such has a genuine occupational requirement that the post‑holder is a practising Christian (as outlined by 2010 Equality Act, Section 9).
About You
You should have a nationally recognised biblical, theological or practical mission qualification or equivalent experience evidenced for the role.
You should have the ability to demonstrate an awareness of pastoral issues affecting older people and the kinds of support that could be appropriate and an understanding of the Church’s work with mission amongst older people.

As well as high quality media relations, the post will support delivery of public relations activities, and support wider public affairs and stakeholder relations.
