Young Citizens is seeking a Business Development and Special Projects Lead to support a critical year of fundraising, income generation and partnership development. This role supports the special projects work with the CEO and will work with the senior team to lead on the income and visibility opportunities that unlock our delivery for our three-year strategy.
Your Role’s Purpose
Year 1 of this role will be focused on business model development, income generation and strategic partnerships. Working closely with the CEO and senior management team, you will help shape, test and secure new funding and commercial opportunities that position Young Citizens for long-term sustainability and impact. The special projects element includes supporting the developmental design of our future business model, charity strategy and public affairs work.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building, creating and working at pace to achieve great results within a small team. You will be rapidly developing propositions, forging partnerships and converting ideas into credible, funded initiatives. You will play a central role in strengthening our relationships with funders, institutions, corporates and sector partners, while supporting wider organisational development projects.

In Year 1, your primary focus will be to:
- Develop and drive income/fundraising with existing channels, including grant funding, partnerships and commercial activity.
- Build a strong pipeline of income opportunities, working closely with the CEO to convert prospects into funding
- Produce high-quality business cases, funding bids, proposals and presentations of our work
- Design and execute new funding models and partnership opportunities alongside the CEO’s updated strategic plan
- Lead staff member for strategic engagement with funders, corporates, policymakers and sector stakeholders.
Alongside this, you will contribute to priority special projects that support Young Citizens’ organisational growth and external positioning.
Who We’re Looking For
This role is not just open to traditional fundraisers or partnership managers. You might come from a charity, social enterprise, consultancy, policy or start-up background but what matters most is your ability to confidently progress a pipeline of opportunities, build partnerships, generate income and deliver results

- Operating with professionalism, improving processes and keeping organisational priorities at the forefront

We are looking for a temporary events officer for a passionate and collaborative disability charity. You will manage an agreed portfolio of fundraising events, taking place throughout the year. You will also provide high levels of supporter care.
This is hybrid role with 2 days a week in the London office and you will be needed until they recruit for the permanent role.
The Role
Lead on the delivery of a number of events from the agreed portfolio; both owned and third party events. Responsibilities to include researching an events feasibility, planning, marketing, recruiting participants, and evaluation. Providing high levels of supporter care and ensuring income and expenditure targets are met or exceeded for each event.
Where required, assist with developing business cases for new events, by following the established approval process, and evidencing your case with supporter-led insight, market research and financial and non-financial KPIs.
Work closely with colleagues in marketing, press and PR in producing and implementing a marketing and PR plan for all events within remit, including researching and developing publicity plans for individual events and contributing to the development of any printed materials, web content and social media.
Prepare and manage personal budgets, always looking for ways to increase income streams and decrease expenditure Manage relationships with internal,external suppliers, event providers and key stakeholders to ensure efficient event delivery and added value for participants.
Ensure that all challenge events are contracted, adhere to the law and that adequate health & safety measures are in place.
Supervise volunteers where necessary, both in the office and at events.
Work closely with colleagues on the development and implementation of a recruitment stewardship plan, including first contact, fulfilment, correspondence and administrative systems, to ensure maximum supporter satisfaction, income and retention.
Build long term relationships with supporters by creating a first class supporter experience, having regular contact through email, social media and telephone conversations.
Working with the Data team, implement communication plans for supporters to ensure that they are receiving the highest levels of support.

The Operations Manager is a new leadership position that will play a pivotal role in the delivery of FFLAG’s operations which span online, offline, and local group support for parents and carers of LGBT+ loved ones. We also want you to bring experience of fundraising to help ensure we stay financially secure for the long term.
About FFLAG
FFLAG is a national voluntary organisation and registered charity and is the UK’s longest established parent support charity in the LGBT+ sector. Our history began in the grassroots parent helplines of the 1960s, grew through the 1980’s and 90’s as we supported anxious parents and fought against the discrimination of Section 28, becoming a formally registered charity in 2000.
Our work sounds simple, but it is life changing. We help parents and families understand, accept and support their LGBT+ family members with love and pride.
We offer a range of support options spanning 121 online and helpline support services, to a UK-wide monthly group Zoom meeting and face to face local groups. We also have an extensive collection of online resources and guides. We attend as many Pride events as we can and our work supports thousands of families every year. This support is provided by an active base of FFLAG volunteers who are parents of LGBT+ children themselves, supported by other volunteers and allies.
In addition to our support work, FFLAG advocates for the full human and civil rights of LGBT+ individuals. FFLAG speaks out and acts to defend and enhance those human and civil rights.
What this job is all about
Simply put, as Operations Manager you will ensure the charity's activities are effective, sustainable, and aligned with our mission to support families with LGBT+ members
Reporting directly to the Chair, working closely with the Board of Trustees and supported by a part-time Volunteer Engagement & Events Coordinator you will:
- Lead and supervise the daily operational functions, ensuring smooth and compliant delivery of services.
- Lead fundraising activities, including grant applications, donor stewardship, and partnership development.
- Manage and support staff and volunteers, nurturing a positive, inclusive, and collaborative culture.
- Support the Trustees to ensure compliance with all relevant UK charity legislation and regulatory requirements (e.g., Charity Commission, safeguarding, risk management, data protection).

- Operational Leadership: Demonstrable experience in a senior operations role, ideally within the charity or voluntary sector.

AFK is a national charity creating opportunities for children and young people who are disabled or neurodiverse, to increase their independence, reach their individual potential and remove the barriers they face. Overall Job Purpose
As part of the Fundraising and Communications Department this role is responsible for creating bold, inspiring new ideas for the charity across digital, marketing and communications, PR, campaigns and internal communications.
You will be passionate about telling stories to inspire action from external supporters and will have responsibility for executing the marketing plan to support events, partnerships, and campaigns. You’ll also collaborate with the Fundraising and Services Teams to identify our target audiences and make suggestions on how to communicate across multiple channels to best drive engagement.
Your creativity and passion will deliver tailored marketing and communications campaigns and you will work closely with colleagues and external agencies/freelancers as required to influence and engage external stakeholders. Working Relationships
This role is all about building strong relationships across the organisation to align marketing and communications with our priorities, juggling income generation, service promotion, and leadership communications.
You'll be the central communications hub, turning organisational goals into engaging content that resonates with our audiences.

Principal Responsibilities
· Implement the Marketing and Communications strategy and plan, including tracking progress against KPIs
· Undertake a full and routine evaluation of all marcomms activity including preparing reports for colleagues and the leadership team

· Oversee the maintenance of a comprehensive suite of marketing collateral that meets needs across the organisation, ensuring there is a cost-effective process in place for commissioning new materials
