About You

You’re collaborative and resilient with the ability to operate strategically while staying hands-on. You have proven experience as a HR and/or L&D Business Partner (or similar role) and are confident building strong relationships with senior leaders and managers across multiple functions.

You stay calm under pressure, manage challenging situations constructively, and juggle competing priorities in a fast-moving environment—planning ahead yet adapting when things change.

You work autonomously, communicate clearly, and make sound decisions grounded in employment law and HR best practice. Proficiency with HR Information Systems is also essential.

You hold a CIPD level 5 (or have equivalent experience) with demonstratable HR business partnering success. You hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a reliable vehicle with business insurance for work purposes. You are willing and able to travel regularly for in-person meetings and events—often to Downton (SP5 3RB) or London, with occasionally travel to other UK locations. Central London travel will be by train.

You are also comfortable staying away from home overnight on occasion, when required to support events or team activities.

We are looking for someone with experience supporting peacebuilding, development or humanitarian projects, with a good understanding of peacebuilding approaches, and who can build effective, trust-based relationships with local partners. The Circle is an alternative to A&E for young people and children who are finding it hard to cope with their mental health, when medical intervention might not be necessary. We provide one-off in the moment support, and we are open every day of the year with no waiting list.

Mental health advisors are part of the core team, supporting children and young people aged 5-18 and their families every day. You are expected to work within HFEH Mind’s policies and procedures, and adhere to our code of conduct/values.

This role will suit those that have worked with vulnerable children in the past, including, but not limited to, support workers, CAMHS workers and mental health workers. We work within a diverse borough, and look to reflect this in our team.

Job Summary:

The mental health advisor role is a key part of the delivery of the Circle, working on the frontline to support young people and their families who are finding it hard to cope. They will conduct hour long, one-off sessions with children and young people aged 5-18, providing: safety planning, coping mechanisms, psychoeducation, and signposting, and supporting in de-escalation. This will be delivered with a non-judgemental and empathetic approach.

As a mental health advisor, you will need to be ready to respond in the moment to presenting (often unknown) concerns. You will have to dynamically risk assess situations, and be confident in raising concerns when necessary.

The successful candidate will be comfortable with all aspects of data collection, management and analysis with proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team. The appointed individual will play a pivotal role in the development of quality processes and managing data to support reporting, research activities and associated publications. 

Key responsibilities

• Using good technical skills to explore, manage and report on data, including being competent with a range of data analysis software

In this role, you'll be the go-to expert for health and safety matters across our organisation, providing advice and practical support to ensure we meet our statutory obligations and control any health and safety risks to our people, and anyone else affected by the charity's activities. From investigating incidents to developing operational procedures, you'll have the opportunity to create a safe and supportive environment across a diverse range of areas (e.g., Trading, Fundraising, Research, and many more), meaning no day will be the same.

What will I be doing?

• Providing first-line health and safety (H&S) advice and support across Cancer Research UK via phone and email.

• Leading the investigation of specified accidents and H&S incidents, making recommendations for changes, and ensuring that records are updated accurately.

• Providing advice and support to staff on workstation set up, ensuring that training records are maintained, and appropriate risk assessments are in place.

• Undertaking active monitoring activities to show compliance across a diverse range of health and safety issues.

• Helping to develop and implement safe operational procedures which identify and account for all relevant hazards.

• Supporting the risk assessment process, ensuring accurate records are maintained.

• Playing an active role in developing H&S information and training, ensuring to share and communicate with relevant stakeholders.

• Undertaking other tasks, as necessary, to contribute to the team objectives and those of Cancer Research UK.

What skills will I need?

• NEBOSH General Certificate level+ qualified (or equivalent) Health & Safety professional who has advised on health and safety matters in large, complex, and hybrid organisations (both onsite and remote-based).

• Demonstrable understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation and good practice.

• Excellent stakeholder engagement and management with demonstrable interpersonal, influencing, and negotiating skills with a proven ability to communicate effectively in writing, face-to-face, and by telephone with a wide-ranging audience.

• Proficient in using accident & compliance management systems and databases.

• Ability to work as part of a team and contribute towards the team's collective success

• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify creative solutions to a diverse range of problems.

• Able to travel across the UK to Cancer Research UK stores and offices (ideally has a driver's license, but we're open to candidates who can travel via public transport).

The role

We’re seeking an Individual Giving Officer to join our creative and fast-paced Individual Giving team following a promotion within the team! This is a great opportunity for someone looking to take their first step into a career in Individual Giving fundraising, or to expand your existing knowledge into more areas of Individual Giving in a varied role. 

This is an exciting time to join Pancreatic Cancer UK. With an ambitious five-year strategy to double both our income and survival rates, Individual Giving is a key focus in achieving this goal, so you’ll play an important role in acquiring and stewarding donors – helping ensure that everyone with pancreatic cancer can live long and well. We’re passionate about delivering it, but we can’t do it alone. In this role, you’ll be responsible for:

• Supporting the delivery of acquisition and retention campaigns and optimising supporter journeys for our priority audiences across a range of channels, including digital, direct mail and telemarketing. 
• Ensuring we meet our ambitious income targets by supporting on key income streams including regular giving, in memory, cash, gaming and the online shop.
• Developing and maintaining strong relationships with internal teams and external suppliers.
• Support the team with key administrative processes to ensure effective stewardship of our supporters. 

About You 

• Previous experience in an Individual Giving role or similar fundraising position, with a good working knowledge of fundraising best practice, having supported a range of campaigns. 
• Can work on multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, managing conflicting deadlines and being proactive in raising risks and concerns.  
• Ability to work cross-team, building effective relationships with internal teams and external suppliers. 
• Strong communication skills when liaising with supporters to provide an audience-first experience.

We are looking for an experienced Social Workers to join our London & South East Team supporting children and young people diagnosed with cancer.

We pride ourselves on delivering the highest quality support tailored to the needs of the children and young people and their families. The work we do is rewarding but also complex and demanding. You will be part of a close-knit Young Lives vs Cancer social work team, working with an established NHS multi-disciplinary team and services in the community.

This role is part home, part site-based. Your contractual base will be both Home and Great Ormond Street Hospital.
