We are looking for dedicated and passionate Events Officer to join our team based in Hatfield!

Manage, develop and evaluate an engaging programme of events fundraising, and support the Community Fundraising Officer when delivering local events to raise a target income of £90k . Support groups and individuals organising fundraising events and activities on behalf of hyh. To support the development and delivery of the Communications Plan.

What will you be doing? 

Contribute to hyh’s overall Fundraising strategy as a member of the Fundraising Team
 

• Identify, develop and support existing and new community and events fundraising activities to increase and generate significant net income and supporter engagement
• Provide excellent donor care for all fundraising activities, to develop productive and lasting relationships with the community and convert them into loyal supporters
• Assist the Head of Fundraising & Communications  in the development and delivery of hyh’s Events and Communications Plans
• Update donor CRM databases and website

What we're looking for

This newly created Campaigns Manager role will be responsible for end-to-end campaign management across digital platforms including Advocate, our programmatic ad platform, and various social media channels. This includes strategy development, planning, coordination, execution, and optimization. Reporting to the Ad Ops Director in Canada, you'll work closely with the Accounts, Performance & Insights, and Product teams across Europe and the US to ensure campaigns are delivered on time, on budget, and on target.

Responsibilities

• Lead on developing digital strategies and media plans, identifying appropriate platforms and formats to maximise impact for our global, progressive client base. 
• Manage Campaign Associates to ensure all digital campaigns are delivered successfully, including tracking KPIs, analyzing performance data, and implementing optimizations to improve results.
• Periodically attend (remote) meetings with clients to present campaign results. 
• Add hands-on-keyboard capacity to build and manage campaigns where needed.
• Continually innovate how we run campaigns, to find better ways to bring impact to our clients.
• Be the people manager and coach of at least one Campaigns Associate. 

Required Expertise

Must Have

• Experience with planning, building and managing successful paid digital campaigns on social media and programmatic channels for progressive political groups. 
• Experience working on multiple progressive campaigns, including at least one cycle of US political campaigns with Democrats or progressive groups. 
• Proven ability to learn new ad tech platforms quickly.
• Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to spot errors, inconsistencies, or performance issues before they escalate.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and thrive in a fast-paced, cross-continent environment. 

Nice to Have

• Experience managing / mentoring junior team members.
• Hands-on experience with search, social, and programmatic buying platforms such as: The Trade Desk, Google Search, DV360, LinkedIn, Meta, Snapchat, TikTok, X and YouTube along with Google Campaign Manager for ad serving.
• In-depth knowledge of relevant ad tech and industry best practices.

Salary

The spot salary for the Reward Manager role is £58,242 per annum for those who meet all role requirements. In line with our income generation strategy:

· Lead on the strategic planning and implementation of income generation activities to help build sustainability of The Carers’ Centre and its services for 19,600 unpaid carers across Bath and North East Somerset.

· Develop and implement a stewardship programme for donors and funders building support and securing new income for The Carers’ Centre.

· Work collaboratively with colleagues to help deliver The Carers’ Centre vision for carers.

Income generation

· Design and deliver a diverse income generation plan to support philanthropy and fundraising in line with The Carers’ Centre Strategic Plan.

· Co-produce annual philanthropy and fundraising targets and take the lead responsibility to instigate and co-ordinate the activity that will achieve them.

· Build long-lasting relationships with key local philanthropists, donors, and funders.

· Work proactively with colleagues to research, identify and scope a portfolio of compelling projects and proposals that will appeal to donors and funders.

· Work closely with communication colleagues to develop appropriate communications campaigns and activities for different supporter groups.

Category Manager | £55,000 - £60,000 + Benefits | 12-month FTC | London - Hybrid Working

For a large UK-wide Housing Association, we're recruiting a Category Manager on a 12-month FTC. During a period of significant investment in service provision and effective category management and business partnering, the Category Manager will continue this journey of operational excellence and will develop and lead strategic sourcing, agreeing procurement strategy for several supply chain categories taking a commercial and compliant approach in development the best routes to market.

• Work alongside the group procurement team and senior procurement manager to develop and deliver operationally excellent strategies for a portfolio of supply chain categories
• Lead on the development, procurement and implementation of category strategies, ensuring contracts awarded deliver value for money

Exciting opportunity for an ambitious person to make a real difference for nature!

We are looking for an experienced, dynamic, and organised person to lead on the conservation grazing across our nature reserves in Gloucestershire.

The role will require managing our native-breed cattle, ponies and sheep to provide the best outcomes for habitats and wildlife while ensuring an excellent standard of animal welfare.
The trust currently owns a small herd of Highland cattle and Exmoor ponies, in addition to a small flock of primitive sheep.

There is potential to expand grazing operations to increase our delivery of natural process led solutions. The successful candidate will be joining the Nature Recovery Zone team as the trust looks to take on additional land that will require management through grazing.

With oversight from the Senior Concerts Manager and Concerts Director, the post-holder will work closely with the  Concerts Coordinators, Concerts Assistant and the Orchestra Operations Team in the delivery of outstanding performances in territories as varied as the UK, USA, Asia and Europe.

Key Responsibilities 

• Planning and coordinating of all international tours and residencies undertaken by the Orchestra, • Planning and coordinating of UK-based performances, engagements and tours outside of the Orchestra’s  core regional residencies.

• Planning and coordinating commercial recordings and special projects, shared with Concerts & Projects  Manager, according to orchestra schedule. 

• Developing and managing detailed itineraries, travel schedules, visas, freight and accommodation for  musicians, artists, staff and equipment.

• Preparing project budgets, managing and maintaining set budgets and final reconciliation and invoicing,  including international tax applications on behalf of the Orchestra. 

• Liaising with the Orchestra’s Head of Production and Stage Managers regarding practical  arrangements for all concerts and projects, including, but not limited to, stage plans, stage extensions,  ATA carnet applications; truck requirements, second instruments etc. 

• Liaising closely with the Orchestra Librarians on orchestrations and editions for repertoire being  performed or recorded. 

• Supervising the Concerts Coordinators and Assistant in the practical delivery of contracts, PPE letters,  technical riders, dressing room and security lists, rehearsal venue bookings, flight and hotel lists etc. • Keeping abreast of all relevant agreements and updates from the Association of British Orchestras and  Musicians’ Union concerning touring best practice and regulation. 

• Liaising with the Orchestra Committee and Artistic Committee regarding player matters as directed by Senior Concerts Manager/Concerts Director. 

• Travel with the Orchestra on all international tours and attending concerts & projects within the UK as  necessary.

• Upholding and demonstrating the Orchestra's values. Representing the Philharmonia with utmost  professionalism at all times. 

• Undertaking such other duties as may reasonably be required by the Company. 

Skills and Qualifications 

Essential: 

• Minimum three years’ managerial experience in classical music administration preferably with a focus on tour management 

• Demonstrable experience in performance production and scheduling; including knowledge of  international visas, tax and travel. 

• A passion for orchestral music; 

• Meticulous attention to detail; 

• Self-motivated and a diligent worker; 

• Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise whilst working across a wide range of projects  at any one time; 

• Excellent interpersonal skills, both written and verbal being able to converse with a wide range of  stakeholders; 

• Ability to problem solve independently, quickly and under pressure; 

• Ability to find creative solutions independently; 

• Ability to work as part of a team; Ability to motivate junior colleagues;

Reporting Structure

Employment Type 

Full time, based in London with weekend and evening work as required by the orchestra’s schedule.

Location 

The role will be based at our administrative office in Southwark, London SE1; however, the role will require  frequent travel both within the UK and internationally. This role will regularly require you to travel with the  Orchestra on tour, being away for periods of between one week to over two weeks at a time.

The Role

The Finance Manager will be a pivotal position within JB’s senior leadership team, responsible for the effective and efficient management of all financial operations. This role requires a highly experienced and hands-on professional who can seamlessly manage day-to-day bookkeeping and compliance while also contributing to the organisation's financial strategy and future resilience.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in charity finance, a deep understanding of VAT complexities, and the ambition to grow into a strategic financial leader. Key Responsibilities

Financial Management And Reporting (Operational & Strategic)

• Hands-on bookkeeping and transaction management: Oversee and execute all financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll preparation, and bank reconciliations using the organisation's accounting software.

• Management accounts: Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts, commentary, and analysis for the Managing Director, CEO, and the Board of Trustees.

• Statutory compliance: Manage all aspects of Charity SORP compliant financial reporting. Prepare and coordinate the annual statutory audit, working directly with external auditors. Oversee filing and reporting to regulators including the Charity Commission and Companies House.

• VAT and tax compliance: Lead on all VAT compliance, including preparation and submission of quarterly VAT returns, ensuring full adherence to HMRC regulations, particularly those unique to the charity sector, including partial exemption requirements and annual adjustments.

• Budgeting and forecasting: Coordinate and support the annual budgeting process. Develop regular financial forecasts and projections to ensure the organisation remains financially sustainable.

• Cashflow management: Monitor and manage the organisation's cash flow, ensuring adequate funds are available for all operational needs.

• Payroll: Manage the relationship with the outsourced payroll provider, collate salary information, ensuring is accurate and up-to-date and manage pension payments.

• Coordination of confidential finance administration: Business rates/premises, company bank accounts, credit card software, audit preparation, companies house, PL, EL, PI & and drive insurance renewal process

Strategic support and leadership development

• Financial insight as part of the Senior Leadership Team: Develop and deliver clear, data-driven financial analysis and insights to inform strategic decision-making across the organisation (SLT, SMT and Board).

• Policy and procedure: Review and maintain robust financial controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard the charity’s assets and ensure best practice.

• Strategic recommendations: In collaboration with the MD and CEO, research and present options for improving financial efficiency, exploring new funding models, and strengthening the long-term financial health of Julie's Bicycle.

• Board support: Prepare monthly management accounts, as well as comprehensive financial reports for quarterly Trustee meetings, attending meetings as required to present and discuss financial performance.

• Training the team: Embed a culture of financial curiosity, procedures and basic literacy.

Grant And Project Finance

• Restricted funds: Maintain meticulous records for all restricted and designated funds, ensuring compliance with all donor and grant conditions.

• Grant reporting: Lead on preparing detailed financial reports for funders (e.g., Arts Council England, trusts, foundations), ensuring all expenditure is accurately recorded and compliant with specific grant requirements. Consolidate all the above into a shared reporting calendar.

Person Specification

Essential experience and knowledge

• Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/AAT), with at least 5-10 years of demonstrable, progressive experience in a similar finance role, with a significant portion gained within the UK charity/non-profit sector.

• In-depth, practical knowledge of UK charity financial regulations and Charity SORP.

• Expert-level understanding of VAT for charities, including partial exemption and trading subsidiaries.

• Proven ability to manage the full accounting cycle, from transaction entry (bookkeeping) through to preparing statutory accounts.

• Experience in managing the annual audit process and engaging with external auditors.

• Excellent proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Aquila) and advanced Excel skills.
