Fundraising Assistant

Contract: Permanent, part-time (21 hours per week)

Salary: £25,000 - £27,000 pro rata (commensurate with experience)

Location: Battersea, London.

This is a part-time post, 21 hours per week to be worked on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Hybrid working available, with a requirement to be in the Battersea office 1 to 2 days per week.

BookTrust is the UK's largest children's reading charity. To support our recent growth, we are recruiting for a new part time Finance Officer to help us effectively manage our day-to-day financial processes and provide financial and administrative support to our growing team of staff and volunteers.

Working closely with colleagues across the charity, your responsibilities will include the processing of purchase invoices and expenses, raising of contract invoices, assisting with budgets and forecasts and supporting our Income Generation team with their finance needs. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to various finance projects and strategic initiatives.

It is essential that you have strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail, good communication abilities, and a proactive attitude towards assisting with diverse finance tasks. Ideally you will possess a formal accounting qualification (AAT or equivalent) or be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of basic accounting and bookkeeping. - You'll research trusts and foundations funding opportunities to which IHP can apply.

In support of Mercy Corps’ mission, the global Corporate and Foundation Partnerships team manages Mercy Corps’ fundraising relationships with major global companies and foundations. We set bold visions for the positive social change we can create with our partners, provide outstanding partner services and relationship management, and together build meaningful partnerships that provide value to all parties while creating lasting impact for the local communities where we work. Our partnerships span areas including emergency response, economic and market development, food and water security, climate change, and peacebuilding. We work across many teams at Mercy Corps, including marketing and communications, mass market fundraising, the executive office, and with our programme and country-based colleagues around the world. This position sits within Mercy Corps’ Development team.

The Position 

The Communications Officer, Global Corporate & Foundation Partnerships will focus on two key workstreams: 1) Implementing the communications and profile-raising strategy for the Development team’s $250M Climate: Possible global campaign and 2) Communications projects supporting European corporate and foundation partners. Working closely with the Communications Director, Global Corporate & Foundation Partnerships, and the Senior Director of Development in Europe, this position will coordinate across internal teams, including fundraising relationship managers and communications and marketing team members, and liaise directly with external partners.

Essential Responsibilities 

CLIMATE: POSSIBLE COMMUNICATIONS & PROFILE-STRATEGY SUPPORT (60%)

●Support the execution of the Climate: Possible communications plan, including managing the creation of thought leadership deliverables, developing written and other creative content, and coordinating internal reviews.

●Create an editorial calendar, develop and track an ongoing stream of content for executive and agency social media channels that highlights Mercy Corps’ expertise in climate adaptation programming.

●Event support, including developing briefing documents, talking points, invitation copy, and social media promotion for external climate conferences and events and Mercy Corps-organised corporate and foundation partnership events.

●Create new deliverables and update the existing suite of Climate: Possible marketing materials, as needed.

GENERAL COMMUNICATIONS SUPPORT FOR CORPORATE & FOUNDATION AUDIENCES (35%)

●Contribute to the development and implementation of multi-channel profile-raising strategies in support of the European strategic plan. Contribute to the profile and influence strategy to raise Mercy Corps’ profile with key corporate and foundation donors and prospects.

●Manage emergency response coordination for the Global Corporate and Foundation Partnership teams in partnership with the Global Sr. Communications Officer. Write emergency response communications (creating and sourcing content from internal teams), including email solicitations and updates, and help create donor deliverables, including decks and webinars to support emergency response fundraising amongst Corporate and Foundation partners.

●Source, transform, and create content into compelling Corporate and Foundation audience-specific products, including emails, blog and social posts, pitch decks, fact sheets, and videos.

●Serve as the communications lead, in partnership with corporate relationship managers, for corporate co-fundraising opportunities and submission prizes and competitions.

●Support strategic employee communications efforts for top European corporate partners in partnership with the Employee Engagement Officer.

●Monitor social media accounts of key Corporate and Foundation partners, and draft suggested posts for executive or agency engagement. 

KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT AND TEAM PROCESS IMPROVEMENT (5%) 

• Develop and maintain internal documents to track communications projects and evaluate and prioritise communications opportunities with partners.
• Stay abreast and socialize internal communications resources and general fundraising communication trends with the Corporate and Foundation teams. 
• Contribute to Mercy Corps’ ethical fundraising and communications strategy by creating materials in line with our ethical storytelling approach and guidelines.

The Director of Delivery will provide leadership, develop programmes, manage direct reports and enable business planning for multi-year funding settlements for the key delivery elements of the organisation. Do you have Individual Giving experience, particularly in Lottery, Regular Giving or cash recruitment?

If so, Sue Ryder has a fantastic opportunity to be our new Individual Giving Officer – Acquisition, helping to deliver the acquisition programme across Individual Giving, Regular Giving and Lottery at Sue Ryder.

Reporting to the Individual Giving Acquisition Manager you will work as part of the Individual Giving Team, recruiting new donors and maximising income across a variety of direct marketing campaigns and activities, supporting on a variety of projects across Individual Giving; including Face to Face, direct mail, email, digital, and telephone campaigns, including work on the national fundraising Lottery.

The successful candidate will be expected to attend our Euston office once a week, although there is some flexibility around this for the right candidate.

Key Knowledge and Experience

• Experience of managing external agency relationships

• Experience of working with databases - Raisers Edge

• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages including advanced Excel experience

• Excellent interpersonal skills

• Experience of managing third party supplier relationships

• Experience of developing compelling marketing materials and copy for print, web and social media

Key Responsibilities:

• Planning and delivery of multi-channel direct, telemarketing and digital marketing campaigns; to include briefing in new products, managing timings, campaign budgets, collating feedback and approval from key stakeholders, liaising with suppliers and ensuring materials are compliant and on-brand

• Work with the Individual Giving Acquisition Manager to forecast income and expenditure for campaigns and ensure spend remains within budget.

• Manage all aspects of effective and inspiring welcome Journeys. Reviewing data, cancellations and implementing communications to reduce attrition accordingly

• Responsible for Acquisition telemarketing campaigns, including delivery of fundraiser training, campaign briefing, day to day agency management and overseeing compliance

Tearfund are looking for a UX Team Leader to join our Digital and Content Team. This is a new role where you will combine excellent leadership with creative design skills, working to inspire supporters and equip global development partners for one of the UK's leading Christian relief and development agencies.

We are looking for a candidate who can strategically lead a multi-disciplinary team to create excellent user experiences for our audiences. They will be both collaborative and confident, working closely with other leaders in the team to refine our delivery model and place/user needs at the heart of everything we do.  You'll promote UX design best practice through all stages of that process.

They will also be a skilled and creative designer who loves getting hands-on with design work.  You'll join agile teams to deliver concepts and ideas that continually improve the digital services and products we offer, enabling an effective response to Tearfund's vision and mission. 

What skills and experience you will need to apply:

• Excellent leadership skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively
• Confident line management capabilities, with the ability to build a cohesive, supportive and highly motivated team

You will provide full administrative support to the Head of Philanthropy and Senior Philanthropy Manager to maximise the Serpentine’s income from our international group of major donors, ensuring processes are followed correctly and all administration is efficient, accurate and delivered to deadline.

Using your strong prospect research, analytic and communication skills, you will thrive on your ability to deepen and widen our donor base through identifying new potential supporters, as well as mapping donor networks and creatively assessing opportunities for closer engagement with existing donors.
