About The Felix Project

The Felix Project is London’s largest food redistribution charity. Our vision is a London where good food is never wasted, and no one goes hungry. We aim to reduce the negative impact food waste has on the environment by working with the food industry to rescue high quality surplus produce, that would otherwise have gone to waste. This food is sorted at one of our four depots or turned into meals in Felix’s Kitchen. Purpose of the Job 

We are looking for the Assistant Kitchen Manager to play a key role in the Kitchen team.

Felix’s Kitchen is the longest running Production site we have here at The Felix Project, the staff and volunteer team in the kitchen, turn surplus food into almost 5,000 meals a day. These meals are cooked and packed on site and then go into our network of depots and on to some of the 1,200 community organisations we support.

This role is support in the managing of the day to day running of the kitchen, its team, the food production and packing of the meals and all aspects related to these responsibilities. Assist The Kitchen Manager in all aspects of the operation and planning for the kitchen.

No two days are ever quite the same in our kitchen, we work with volunteers and surplus food this means we adapt and thrive in a fast and changing environment. This role supports and oversees the entire operation, from the kitchen and chef team to the packing room and packing team, our volunteers and engaging and organising within the wider Felix Project.

Duties and Responsibilities

Your normal duties and responsibilities will be set out in your job description. However, the charity may require you to perform other duties from time to time. 

• Support all kitchen staff so they can fulfil their role
• Assist in the smooth running of the kitchen and packing area, taking a hands-on approach
• Ensure that the operation hits its agreed targets of production
• Responsible for the quality control of the cooked and packed meals, and that all correct HACCP procedures are followed
• Responsible for Health and Safety in the kitchen, food safety and record keeping and keeping all records up to date
• Oversee kitchen maintenance and cleaning
• Overseeing shift planning and the rota for the entire kitchen team
• Ordering of all food and other materials needed in the kitchen
• Connect and work closely together with the team at the Poplar Depot, we are attached to

Person Specification

This is a truly unique role, and we are looking for someone to bring their own skills, experience and flair to the role. We are looking for someone to help set and maintain very high standards in the kitchen.

The ideal candidate will be someone who is eager to continuously improve, whether this be food quality or process or working relationships. The kitchen has achieved some great successes over the last 4 years, but we are looking for someone to continue that improvement and the impact we can have across London.

• Experience in hospitality/catering management and/or kitchen management role
• Eagerness to improve processes and solve problems
• Comfortable with all aspects of H&S, Food Safety and HACCP procedures or a willingness to learn

CSAN is the official agency of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference, tackling the root causes of poverty and injustice affecting people in England and Wales. We’re facing a steep rise in poverty and significant pressures on social, economic and church resources. At this time, the Church is called to raise a prophetic voice against poverty and the rhetoric of division and work for the building of a more just society.

In 2021, CSAN launched its strategy to extend the social mission of the Church in a post-COVID society. We are developing the infrastructure of the social action network of the Church in England and Wales, including new alliances for diocesan Caritas agencies, advocacy and migration. As our Senior Officer for Migration, you will help to raise awareness of migration issues from the perspective of Catholic Social Teaching and lead on our Ambassadors Programme against Human Trafficking and Modern Slavery, as well as prepare briefings and campaign responses to Government legislation.

Over the last 20 years, CSAN has established a network of 50 diocesan and direct service charities, with a combined annual expenditure on social mission estimated at £400m, excluding the work of schools and religious congregations. Our members build up local community life in diverse ways, and many of them support individuals in difficulty, including with housing, prison and detention, social isolation, ill-health, violence, disability, employment, care, therapeutic and welfare support.

The key responsibilities of the Senior Migration Officer are:

1. To provide timely information to the CSAN team and the network on UK Government resettlement programmes and legislation on immigration.

2. To support CSAN’s work to improve public policy and practice on immigration, with compelling evidence from our network, and enabling effective participation in advocacy for a humane system.

3. To work closely with the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales on issues of migration and human trafficking.

4. To lead the implementation of the Gubay-

funded CSAN Ambassadors against Human Trafficking programme, preparing and delivering programme materials.

As Policy and Communications Assistant at the CSA Centre you will play a key role in tackling child sexual abuse, alongside the work of our colleagues across practice, research, policy, communications and training. This is important work - the CSA Centre conservatively estimates that one in ten children will experience some form of child sexual abuse before age of 16, and our ambitious programme seeks to improve the knowledge, skills and confidence of professionals (social workers, teachers, social workers, nurses etc.) in identifying and responding to child sexual abuse. We have already made great progress, but there is much more to be done – and we need your help to do it!

This role is currently funded until 31 March 2026, in line with the current grant funding arrangements for the CSA Centre. This will be reviewed in late 2025, as future funding for the CSA Centre from 2026/27 onwards is clarified.

Although this contract has a permanent status, please be aware that this post is subject to funding currently until March 2026 and therefore should this funding not be extended further, you may be subject to a redundancy consultation or a TUPE arrangement. We are the Centre of expertise on child sexual abuse (CSA Centre). Our aim is to reduce the impact of child sexual abuse through improved prevention and better response. To tackle child sexual abuse we must better understand its causes, scope, scale and impact.

First established in 2017, we are a multi-disciplinary team that is funded by the Home Office, hosted by Barnardo's and we work closely with key partners from academic institutions, local authorities, health, education, police and the voluntary sector. We are recruiting for a qualified Youth Worker to join our Family and Youth Services. You will plan, deliver and evaluate youth club activities for young people and ensure that all safeguarding, regulatory and health & safety requirements are met. Actively engaging with young people in informal learning opportunities that promote their physical, mental, social and emotional development.

This role requires a minimum of 2 years experience of leading youthwork sessions, either centre-based and/or detached. The candidate must have a minimum of a Level 3 Youth Work qualification or equivalent, and must be a driver due to the delivery of detached work on the Y Bus. In addition the role requires evening work during Term Time.

Key responsibilities:

• To actively engage with young people aged 10 to 18 in a wide range of youth work programmes that promote personal and social development
• To plan, deliver and evaluate our YMCA East Surrey Youth Work offering
• Coordinate YMCA’s detached programme – Y Bus and Street Talk including liaising with partner agencies. This includes driving our Y Bus.
• Coordinate YMCA’s holiday programme including applying for funding and delivering residentials.
• To oversee part time staff and volunteers, providing professional support and guidance.
• Delivering information, advice, and guidance to young people referring to specialist agencies where appropriate
• To meet with young people and set an action plan to assist with their social and personal development.
• To record and collect data with various tools and to use this to evaluate the effectiveness of youth work programmes.
• Involve young people in co-production of all the youth work undertaken
• Liaise with local partners and stakeholders in schools, the voluntary and statutory sectors to enhance the coherence, range, reach and quality of services for young people.
• To supervise the activity environment to ensure physical and emotional/personal safety for all children and young people attending

About the opportunity
This is a wonderful opportunity for a selection expert to join the Supporter Selections Team at Alzheimer’s Society in what is a really exciting time for both the charity and the team. You will be joining the team as we further develop our selections by using insight, both in and post-campaign, plus develop highly relevant and individualised supporter experiences to drive our communications and improve supporter journeys. The successful candidate will play an integral role in helping us achieve this alongside exploring new and improved ways of delivering our selections and supporter journeys, plus enhancing our processes through improvements to our systems.
As a Customer Selections Analyst, you will be responsible for working with teams from across Income & Engagement to ensure the successful delivery of accurate and targeted selections to support warm marketing activity and stewardship, plus the design and production of multi-stage supporter journeys through the use of PeopleStage, our campaign planning and management tool.  Your proficiency in managing and prioritising tasks will be invaluable in delivering selections on our agreed Communications Plan, and you will be pivotal in enabling our organisation to communicate with the right supporters, through the right channel, at the right time, in the right way, through the systems and tools available to you.
As a trusted expert and a critical friend to Income & Engagement colleagues and stakeholders, you will play a crucial role in deepening understanding of Alzheimer’s Society’s supporters, particularly concerning their next best action. Through using accessible campaign results, data models and other sources of insight, you will enable colleagues to test hypotheses and pivot campaign comms to drive satisfaction, loyalty, and sustainable growth across Alzheimer’s Society’s audiences.
Your strong background in using query-based systems and campaign planning and management tools, alongside having meticulous attention to detail and thriving in high-pressure environments will make you ideal for this exciting role at Alzheimer’s Society.

- Working collaboratively with the Supporter Insight Analysts to gain insight into audiences, and the Campaign Reporting and Optimisation Manager to gain an understanding of the impact of previous communications to enable more effective and insight-driven selections.
- Working alongside our Apteco partner to highlight process improvements to continuously refine and strengthen our selection process and provide the best possible stewardship solution.
- Implementing quality control processes to ensure that relevant suppressions and selection rules are followed, with responsibility for the accuracy of their data selections.

This is a brand new role and would suit someone who has excelled in a similar role and can play a big role in defining and shaping the donor engagement strategy. It has been created to support the new fundraising strategy objective to retain over 10k regular donors and to drive deeper engagement with over 30k supporters. The postholder will have an opportunity to make a significant contribution to the Fund’s long-term income. You will work as part of the Individual Giving team and maximise supporter engagement through both offline and digital activity. The postholder will take the lead on scoping, proposing and implementing multi-channel stewardship campaigns with the right message to the right people at the right time.

You will have proven experience in managing supporter stewardship campaigns across a broad number of channels as well as setting and managing budgets and meeting KPIs. With experience of fundraising databases, creating supporter journeys and briefing and working with external agencies. You will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and show initiative, flair and enthusiasm for the work of the Fund.

The role will be office based at our London HQ, with a minimum of three days working in the office per week. The successful candidate for this role will need to prove they have the right to work in the UK.
