The postholder will support and contribute to Southall Black Sisters’ (SBS) research, policy and campaigning work by developing and delivering high-quality, intersectional research that:
- Strengthens the evidence base on violence against women and girls (VAWG), particularly as it affects Black, minoritised and migrant (BMM) women and girls.
- Centres the lived experiences of victim-survivors, using participatory and coproduced research methods.
- Informs SBS’s advocacy, public education and service delivery strategies through accessible, impactful research outputs.
Working closely with senior staff, frontline colleagues and external partners, the postholder will design and contribute to research projects, gather and analyse qualitative and quantitative data, and produce clear, well-structured outputs including reports, policy briefings and presentations. They will be supported to develop their research skills and will be encouraged to bring creativity and rigour to exploring the structural inequalities that shape the lives of the women SBS supports.

We have a new vacancy for an HR Operations Coordinator in the Strategy, Finance and Operations team, reporting to the Head of People. Role responsibilities (not an exhaustive list, there may be reasonable changes over time)
Operations – People and General:
- Promptly responding and resolving colleague queries from across the organisation
- Maintaining the BambooHR system to ensure People records are accurate and secure. Training will be provided.
- Arranging bookings for Town Halls / Engagement events, organising the meeting agendas and catering bookings where relevant.
- Updating HR information system Guidance documents, creating new versions, and ensuring managers are fully trained on people management responsibilities.
- Update employment policies with guidance from the Head of People, manage the administration of benefits and recognition awards
- Manage the recruitment administration using the Bamboo software and providing proactive updates to hiring managers.
- Managing the Onboarding and Offboarding processes using the BambooHR system, including the Employment references, conducting Right to Work and DBS checks.
- Preparing and issuing employment contracts, ensuring compliance with employment legislation
- Manage the induction process and arranging induction meetings for new joiners, communicating proactively with hiring managers.
- Coordinate and participate in the virtual phone rota and handle correspondence in a a professional manner.This includes overseeing successful handover between rota team members.
- Supporting the Chief Operations Officer in ensuring the charity meets Health and Safety and legal requirements
- Manage staff IT related activities (Microsoft 365), for example during staff onboarding and offboarding (with support from IT service provider)

About the role
This is an exciting and pivotal leadership role at the heart of Kinship’s digital transformation. Kinship is growing rapidly. We are expanding our reach and digital capabilities, and our digital platforms are central to this change. In 2024, we launched a new website that brings together all our content and services under one roof, and introduced a new Kinship Compass postcode search feature. This is a national tool that helps kinship carers find and navigate local and national support, like their kinship local offer, local peer support groups and training.
Alongside this, we have been developing a new AI-powered tool to help kinship carers get the information they need quickly and accurately, 24/7. This role will lead the evolution of these digital products, ensuring they are safe, ethical, data-driven and continuously improved to meet the needs of kinship carers.
You’ll play a key role in the Department for Education funded national Training and Support Service, helping kinship carers easily access and book high-quality training. You’ll also oversee the content design in collaboration with internal and external subject experts and kinship carers themselves.
This is a role for a digital leader who is both strategic and hands-on. You should be able to balance innovation with delivery, and big-picture thinking with strong governance. You’ll champion inclusive, accessible and co-produced design, helping Kinship use digital to deliver more impact, insight and empowerment for kinship families.

About the Role
The Director of Operations is a member of GiveOut’s leadership team, partnering closely with the Executive Director, they will lead on all operational matters, ensuring GiveOut is an efficient, compliant, and resilient institution capable of delivering lasting impact.

You will strengthen our governance practices, support colleagues with data protection responsibilities, and ensure our systems meet national expectations, including the Mental Health Services Data Set (MHSDS). Working across S&G Mind, you will help embed consistent processes, improve data literacy, and promote a culture of accountability and good stewardship.

Overall Duties of the Finance Officer – Accounts Payable will include:

We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity to join our innovative Specialist Palliative Urgent Response Service (SPUR). This role is perfect for a motivated and compassionate health professional eager to develop expertise in specialist palliative and end-of-life care.
As a key member of our dynamic team, you will rotate between triage and clinical duties, responding to urgent calls from patients, families, and professionals across Birmingham and Solihull. You’ll provide timely, expert care—often within a two-hour window—making a real difference when it matters most.
Development Opportunity
This is a developmental role with full funding and support to complete the Non-Medical Prescribing (V300) qualification within your first 12 months. You will gain advanced clinical skills and prescribing authority, enhancing your autonomy and impact. * During the development phase of this role, you will work a mix of day and night shifts. Once you progress to Band 7, the role will predominantly be night shifts.

Rethink Mental Illness is the charity for people severely affected by mental illness. No matter who a person is or how bad their situation has got, we are here to help them get the information and support they need to live a better life. The Policy and Practice Officer role is based within the ‘Policy and Practice’ department which has the overall function of elevating the voice of lived experience and diverse communities to influence systemic change and ensuring it is delivered on the ground.
How you will make a difference
You will be instrumental in supporting a range of activity across ‘Policy and Practice’ including the following teams: Policy and Influencing (where this role primarily sits) and the Lived Experience Insights team. The role also has a dotted line into the Racial Justice and Equity team and may also work with other teams, such as Campaigns and Communications and Evidence and Impact. The post is ideal for you if you are keen to gain a range of experience and develop your skills in an engaging and supportive team environment.
