The BDA is seeking a new Research Manager to work as part of the Education and Professional Practice Team, leading on the research and impact activities of professional dietetic practice. The role will also provide line management within the team.

The role will suit a candidate with a sound understanding and experience of the breadth of dietetic practice and research, and the factors that influence it. Working innovatively the post holder will develop and progress research within dietetic practice, building confidence in the dietetic workforce to be research active.  

 Ideal candidate:

We are looking for somebody who is an expert in research methodologies, and appraisal and is comfortable setting and influencing research strategy.  Ideally we would like somebody who has or is studying for their doctorate in dietetics and experience working in a practice setting would be advantageous. This is a senior internal and external facing role working alongside the Director of Education Practice and Research, and the Education and Practice Managers. The candidate will enjoy supporting colleagues and members to engage and deliver research related projects, and demonstrate impact through evidence-based practice.

As Philanthropy Manager, you will work closely with the Head of Philanthropy and Development team. You will actively manage a pool of individual donors to cultivate, steward and solicit donations for exhibitions, education, and programmes. • Manage a portfolio of donors and prospects, ensuring personalised cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship activities.

• Experience of cultivating, soliciting and closing 5 figure+ gifts from individuals.
• Previous experience of contributing to or participating in strategy development, devising and implementing plans for major gifts fundraising.
• Pro-active, resourceful and entrepreneurial approach to fundraising and ability to take initiative and work autonomously when required.
• A highly organised and flexible approach to work, able to plan and prioritise a varied and busy workload and deliver agreed outputs to tight deadlines.
• Excellent written communication skills with the ability to translate complex information into compelling narrative form.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with an ability to work collaboratively as part of the wider Development team and communicate effectively at all levels.
• Innovative and creative approach to research methodologies and identifying prospective supporters.

This will include the management of our health statistics sign-off process, reviewing other colleagues’ use of quantitative health data evidence for external-facing resources and leading on commissioned health economics projects.

Purpose of the job

UK Youth are seeking an exceptional Grants Manager to lead our grant-making processes, ensuring effective distribution of funds to youth-focused organisations. You will play a key role in managing relationships with grantees, supporting capacity-building initiatives, and ensuring funding is used effectively to drive positive outcomes for young people.

Reporting to the Head of Network Development, as part of a wider team leading our network development initiatives, you’ll be responsible for be line managing a Grants Officer and providing much needed and valued support for a sector that delivers life changing impact for young people in a difficult, underinvested landscape. You’ll have opportunity to lead a function that’s committed to working with young people and using equitable, innovative principles and approaches to funding (such as unrestricted, multi-year funds). Key responsibilities

• Manage the full grant-making cycle, from application and assessment to award, monitoring, and evaluation.

At Toc H Newport, we offer co-produced activities, outreach services and practical support to some of the most disadvantaged individuals and families in the area, reaching over 600 individuals in 2024.Our vision is of a neighbourhood where everyone has the strong community life, emotional wellbeing and socioeconomic opportunities needed to flourish.

Our centre for service delivery is the Toc H Community Centre in Eveswell, Newport, where our offer includes our popular Stay and Play sessions for low-income families, and children’s after-school club Active Juniors. Our client are now seeking an ambitious Director of Clinical Partnerships to lead on the clinical integrity and commercial growth of their programmes. This is a newly created senior role offering the chance to shape the future direction in partnership with the Chief Executive and the wider leadership team.

As a member of the Executive Team, you will play a key role in developing and delivering a commercially robust, customer-focused strategy. You will lead business development and partnership activities - ensuring that the organisation’s courses are evidence-based, aligned to current NHS and sector priorities, and recognised as best-in-class.

This is a dynamic and outward-facing role that will require exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, a clear understanding of the healthcare landscape, and a credible clinical voice. You’ll work closely with the Income Generation team, Learning Design and Quality, and a range of external organisations across the private, public, and voluntary sectors.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• To be a registered healthcare professional, with significant clinical experience
• Strategic leadership experience, income generation experience within the healthcare sector desirable
• A strong track record of working within ABPI guidance and clinical governance frameworks
• Excellent people skills, with the ability to develop departmental partnerships
• An enabling and collaborative leadership style, with excellent communication skills
• A deep understanding of long-term conditions, NHS service development, and wider healthcare priorities
• The ability to operate confidently at Executive Team level, balancing clinical insight with commercial acumen
•  An innovative mindset, able to identify and seize opportunities to expand our impact and reach
