The Infection Prevention Society (IPS) is a leading professional charity for infection prevention and control in the UK and Ireland. As our first Commercial Director, you'll have the autonomy to establish commercial capability from the ground up. You'll build partnerships with health and care organisations, create revenue streams that strengthen our mission including leading the development of training courses that reach new audiences: supporting our members to prevent infections and save lives.

This is a unique opportunity to combine commercial expertise with charitable purpose. The role offers flexibility (four days per week, home-based) and genuine autonomy to shape your approach.

What You'll Do

• Build corporate partnerships: Build relationships and partnerships with businesses that have an interest in infection prevention
• Enhance events revenue: Enhance and develop sponsorship opportunities across our annual conference, events, and webinar programmes
• Explore new opportunities: Identify emerging revenue streams from consultancy, publications, and membership growth into new professional sectors
• Shape training course development: Scope and develop infection prevention courses that generate income whilst advancing our educational mission

Who We're Looking For

You're an experienced commercial professional with a proven track record of generating revenue through partnerships, training programmes, or business development. You might come from membership organisations, professional bodies, charities, education or healthcare settings, or from B2B commercial roles with clear transferable skills.

You have the entrepreneurial confidence to build something new, the strategic thinking to identify opportunities, and the relationship skills to turn those opportunities into sustainable partnerships. You're equally comfortable developing pricing models and financial projections as you are crafting compelling partnership proposals.

Most importantly, you understand that commercial success and charitable purpose aren't opposing forces – they're complementary. You want your commercial expertise to strengthen a charity's capacity to serve its members and achieve its mission.

About You

You’ll have experience of research administration or management at a University, Research Institute or funding organisation and of supporting patient and public involvement in research or as part of quality improvement projects in a UK-wide healthcare context.  You’ll  have proven communication and team-working skills and can evidence your ability to horizon scan and network to keep up to date with research and quality improvement developments. We’re looking for candidates who ideally have experience of working in health/science research environments and a knowledge of project management methodology. A knowledge of the needs of people affected by Crohn’s and Colitis would also be an advantage.

Our Location

We are based in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, so we are easily accessible by road and rail. In this role, there is plenty of scope for a hybrid approach working from home,  although there will be times when you will need to be at face-to-face meetings in Hatfield or across the UK. There is a requirement for you to attend a minimum of 12 in person days a year, including two Directorate meetings and the charity’s mandatory ‘All Staff Together’ days which take place four times a year at our offices in Hatfield or a location in London. In addition, there will be a requirement to attend site visits, conferences and events as required.

About SCEC

SCEC was founded over twenty years ago to provide learning enrichment opportunities to primary school children in disadvantaged communities in south London. Together with our partners, several leading independent schools, we currently operate four schemes in math, literacy, science and art. Your Role

The Scheme Director is a newly created role that will be pivotal in helping SCEC extend its reach. Reporting to the Board of Trustees, you will help SCEC design and implement an expansion programme as well as coordinating the delivery of the existing schemes via our school partners. The Role

The Volunteer Recruitment Officer role is critical to the charity's long-term sustainability and is pivotal in ensuring our branches have the volunteers and guidance they need to support our clients going forward.

This is both an internal and external-facing role, focused on recruiting volunteers and developing initiatives that will streamline how we recruit and welcome new volunteers into our network of branches.

As a small charity, the role will require balancing practical tasks with project delivery and innovation. Building on the strategy that has already been prepared for you, you will work closely with our Volunteer Administration Officer and our Operations Manager to help REMAP support our branches across the UK.

To be considered for this role, you will have demonstrable experience in a similar position and be comfortable working with a diverse range of volunteers/people. As a self-starter, you can work at pace and quickly assess and deliver to changing priorities in a busy remote team. You will have excellent interpersonal skills, be able to coordinate multiple tasks/activities and have the flexibility to respond to changing demands.

You will be proactive, enthusiastic, and excited about joining an organisation with ambitious plans to future-proof its services and reach more disabled people. Experience working in a remote environment is highly desirable.

Place of work: Fully remote, with occasional 1/2 nights away for year-round events.

Working Hours: 22 hrs (pattern to be discussed)

Salary: 13,400 - £15,000 (actual salary), dependent on experience

JOB DESCRIPTION 

Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice helps babies, children and young people who are seriously unwell, and their families, make the most of every day. The charity aspires to become a centre of clinical excellence for children with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions.

We’ve been on a major upward trajectory in recent years, with more children being supported, more major hospitals being partnered with and more supporters donating. We’ve transformed from being an enthusiastic start-up delivering care in the community, to a serious player delivering major impact both in the community and at our state-of-the-art hospice building, The Ark, opened in 2019.

Philanthropy, which covers Grants, Trusts & Foundations and Major Donor fundraising streams, is pivotal to Noah’s Ark, typically accounting for around 50% of the charity’s voluntary income. This is an area of real expertise for Noah’s Ark, with much scope for further refining. The successful candidate will therefore enjoy opportunities to manage and add to an exciting portfolio and gain further training and support, working as part of a high-performing and super supportive team, ready for its next exciting growth phase.

The Philanthropy Officer will work closely with and report to the Grants, Trusts & Foundations Manager and Head of Philanthropy to develop the Trust and Major Donor pipelines, along with instrumental cross-team work on applications and reporting processes for other income streams. Whilst we work towards developing a more diverse funding model and navigate changes to the external Trust and HNWI environments, sustaining and growing income from both of these income steams will remain vital.

The post-holder will be key in taking the Trust and Major Donor programmes to the next level, securing new grants, building relationships, increasing multi-year gifts and improving both quality and volume of applications. They will also support the Grants, Trusts & Foundations Manager, and the wider team, to the same end with their respective portfolios.

You will be a highly organised, dedicated and reliable individual ready to play a significant role in income generation. An exceptional and eloquent communicator, excellent at managing your time and a natural relationship builder. You will have a collaborative mindset, and be willing to engage with colleagues across the fundraising team and wider charity to create the greatest outcomes for the children and families we support.

At this stage in your career, we would not necessarily expect you to have direct experience of fundraising from Trusts or Major Donors. This is a brand-new role with big potential. We’re looking for an experienced community fundraiser who’s excited to build something meaningful for Possability People.

You’ll lead local community and corporate fundraising, spark supporter engagement, and drive income through events, partnerships, and donor initiatives. You’ll also coordinate trust and foundation applications, support individual giving, and play a part in major donor work.

Working closely with teams across the charity, you’ll help shape fundraising that truly reflects our values and fuels our future growth.

With strong local relationships and a respected reputation already in place, we’re ready for someone who can turn that potential into a steady, sustainable pipeline of support. This is a hands-on role with real autonomy, perfect for a fundraiser who enjoys building structure, nurturing supporters, and driving results while helping shape the charity’s wider fundraising direction.

Day-to-Day Overview

You’ll spend your time out and about in the community, planning and running fundraising events like fun runs, afternoon teas, and seasonal campaigns, while being the face of Possability People. You’ll also act as the central point for coordinating bids and grant applications, working closely with Project Leads and the CEO to ensure opportunities are identified, tracked, and progressed. Alongside this, you’ll manage local corporate partnerships and sponsorships, building relationships that support our events and wider fundraising activity. This is a hands-on, mid-level role where your experience and initiative will shape how our fundraising operates and grow our income locally.

Salary:  £35,000 (pro-rata: £21,000 for 21 hours, £28,000 for 28 hours)

Working Hours: 21 hrs (0.6 FTE) to 28 hrs per week (0.8 FTE) (to be agreed)

We’re open to the role being between 21 and 28 hours a week because finding the right person matters most. We’re very happy to chat about how those hours could work for you while still meeting the needs of the role. Whether you’d prefer to spread your hours across five days, start a bit later, or work longer days over fewer days, we’re open to a range of options. The role includes attending events and travelling around the local area, and there are also opportunities to work from home for part of the week.

About Possability People 

Possability People is a pan-impairment disability charity based in Brighton. We work with people with a number of health conditions, including mental health and neurodivergent conditions, as well as with older people.

Queen’s Crescent Community Association (QCCA) runs one of the largest and most diverse older people’s services in Camden. We operate in the borough’s most deprived area and annually support around 300 people aged 55+ to live happier, healthier, more connected lives.

The new co-ordinator will be responsible for delivering a full programme of activities.

We are looking for someone who will:

• Lead, manage and deliver the programme for people aged 55+ in Gospel Oak and the surrounding areas.

• Line-manage sessional and part-time staff, overseeing HR, payroll and supervision.

• Recruit, manage and supervise volunteers, ensuring they are actively engaged in designing and delivering services.

• Prioritise outreach and promote the programme locally, building positive relationships with older people, care homes, sheltered housing, health centres and other partners.

• Deliver regular and accurate reporting, including surveys, consultations and data for board meetings, funders and fundraising.

• Plan and deliver a sustainable programme, balancing free activities with occasional fee-paying or volunteer-led sessions through creative thinking.

• Support older people to access internal and external services that promote their mental health and wellbeing.

• Organise specialist talks, workshops, lunches, coffee mornings and activity refreshments, ensuring all supplies, volunteers and logistics are in place.

• Lead on key administrative duties, including registration forms, attendance registers, CRM updates, progress reports, income and expenditure records, Square Up entries, Equals card spreadsheets, petty cash, payroll hours and the Blip database.

• Plan monthly outings, design the monthly events calendar, maintain the mailing list, and ensure all activity reflects good practice models, quality standards and integration with QCCA’s wider services.

As Managing Director, you will provide strategic direction for the charity, employing a collaborative leadership style to ensure that the achievement of the charity’s vision and objectives is supported by an engaged and culturally healthy staff team.

You will ensure the projects are run in-line with our policies, legal requirements, and budgets, with an overarching understanding of the charity’s finances and fundraising.

You will also be a figurehead for the organisation, effectively networking, partnering and influencing across sectors.

Lastly, but most importantly, you will be passionate about the transformative power of connection across division, and how the projects we create serve this core purpose.

About the Role

We’re looking for a dynamic and organised Education Officer who will play a vital role in inspiring children and families to connect with nature through engaging outdoor learning experiences. They will deliver a dynamic annual programme of curriculum-linked environmental education sessions and wild play activities across the region, with a particular focus on Birmingham. This role supports the development of lifelong connections to nature by bringing learning to life in local green spaces and nature reserves. to support the planning and delivery of events and engagement activities across our sites and communities. This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same.

This post is based at EcoPark, 258a Hobmoor Road, Small Heath, B10 9HH, with flexibility to work from home as required. This role will require regular travel regionally – a company pool vehicle will be provided for travel in between sites.
