Job description

LOCATION: London, Cardiff, or remote within UK. (currently all our staff are working at home and can attend offices on an optional basis. This situation is likely to continue until at least January 2022)

We are looking for a proactive administrator to step into the role of HR and Operations Assistant in a maternity cover role. This is a great opportunity for someone interested in developing their knowledge of HR, finance and operational processes to put their skills to good use within our small, friendly charity.

This is a very broad role providing support predominantly to the Human Resources Manager with a variety of HR administrative process. Being a small charity, the remit is very broad and also includes supporting with learning and development activities, facilities management and software systems, as well as providing administrative support across the wider team. The role also supports the Finance Manager with basic financial processing.

The ideal candidate will need to show strong administrative experience with the ability to successfully coordinate different projects and timescales simultaneously. For example, you may be supporting some internal communications at the same time as responding to requests for invoices with a recruitment deadline looming. To achieve this you will need:

  • Knowledge of the main HR processes
  • Excellent attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
  • Good organisational skills with a flexible mindset for changing priorities
  • Good knowledge and experience of using word-processing, spreadsheets, email software and other software packages, as well as supporting online meetings

Note: Covid-19 restrictions permitting, Elrha’s staff are usually based at our offices in London and Cardiff. While the preference is for the HR and Operations Assistant to be able to work in one of these locations, remote working may be possible for the right candidate.

Elrha is a global charity that finds solutions to complex humanitarian problems through research and innovation. We fund and support projects that go on to shape the way in which people across the world are supported during a crisis. We are based in the UK, but our roles have a global reach. We’re an established and respected part of the humanitarian community, working closely and meaningfully with our fellow networks and actors to make change happen. Elrha is a wholly owned subsidiary of Save the Children.
