About Bristol Avon Rivers Trust

Founded in 2012, Bristol Avon Rivers Trust works across the Bristol Avon catchment to restore rivers for wildlife, people and the local economy.

Everything we do is guided by the best available science and a catchment based approach, working across entire catchments to improve biodiversity, climate resilience, water quality and flood resilience.

Since 2023, the Trust has experienced significant growth. We now employ around 20 staff, deliver approximately £1.3 million of projects annually, and work alongside local partnerships, farmers, landowners, communities, local authorities, businesses and government agencies.

Our ambition over the next five years is even greater.

To deliver our Strategy 2025–2030, we need to complement our strong track record in project funding with a sustainable programme of unrestricted and philanthropic income.

About the Role

Help shape the future Bristol Avon Rivers Trust (BART).

This is much more than a fundraising role.

You'll have the opportunity to design and lead BART's long-term fundraising strategy, creating entirely new income streams that will support restoration of rivers, education, community engagement, project development and organisational resilience.

Our immediate priority is to diversify our income beyond project grants by growing:

• Individual giving
• Philanthropic and charitable foundation support
• Corporate partnerships
• Major donors
• Legacy giving
• Unrestricted income opportunities

While these priorities have been identified strategically, we are looking for someone with the experience and creativity to refine the approach, test new ideas and build a sustainable fundraising programme for the future.

 

Success during your first 12 months will include:

• Developing and launching BART's fundraising strategy
• Building a compelling case for supporting the Trust’s work
• Establishing a strong pipeline of unrestricted income opportunities
• Growing relationships and excellent communications with supporters and funders
• Embedding fundraising across the organisation
• Creating clear KPIs and reporting frameworks with the CEO and Trustees

 

This is a highly strategic position reporting directly to the Chief Executive.

The successful candidate will work closely with an engaged Leadership Team and supportive Board of Trustees, who recognise fundraising as a strategic priority for the organisation's future growth.

Our CEO has extensive experience securing major grant funding and developing partnerships, and will work closely alongside you to help establish and grow this new function.

As with any investment in fundraising, success will be measured against mutually agreed objectives and long-term growth rather than immediate financial return. We recognise that developing sustainable fundraising takes time, and we are committed to supporting the successful candidate to build a lasting programme.

 

What You'll Be Doing

You will:

• Develop and implement BART's Fundraising and Philanthropy Strategy.
• Diversify unrestricted income from individuals, trusts and foundations, philanthropy, corporate partnerships, legacies and other voluntary income streams.
• Develop a compelling organisational Case for Support aligned to BART's Five-Year Strategy.
• Work with the CEO and Leadership Team to establish fundraising priorities and KPIs.
• Lead fundraising campaigns, communications, and supporter engagement initiatives.
• Manage and develop BART's supporter journey using our Beacon CRM system.
• Work closely with our Trust Administrator, who provides administrative support to the organisation, including support for CRM administration and fundraising processes.
• Coordinate fundraising activity across the Trust and ensure opportunities are maximised.
• Build strong relationships with major donors, funders and strategic partners.
• Ensure compliance with the Fundraising Regulator's Code of Fundraising Practice.
• Report regularly to the Leadership Team and Board of Trustees.

• Experience using CRM systems (Beacon experience welcomed but not essential).

This is an exciting training role in Army Cadet Headquarters responsible for the governance of risk in the Army Cadets.

In this critical organisational safety role, you will both generate medical risk assessments and assure those generated by others. You will ensure appropriate medical governance and compliance processes are in place, including identifying organisational clinical risks and recommending appropriate policies. You will oversee incident reporting and trend analysis to support continuous improvement. This will include developing systems and reporting frameworks to provide a clear understanding of the organisation’s medical risk profile and supporting the volunteer team delivering advanced skills training to highly qualified first aiders.

· Have a sound understanding of the role of medical support in the Army Cadets

Interim Tax Lead - ERP Implementation | £700 per day Umbrella Co. | Remote | 18-Months +

For a large government organisation, we're recruiting an interim Tax Manager to lead delivery of day-to-day tax operations including VAT and tax compliance during a large-scale ERP implementation programme. The interim Tax Manager will focus on maintaining high-quality business-as-usual tax delivery, while working closely with the ERP programme teams to share knowledge, provide input on system-wide tax processes, and support readiness.

Main Duties:

• Lead delivery of the day-to-day Tax operations (e.g., VAT and Tax Compliance)
• Support the Compliance and Financial Accounting Team with BAU Tax delivery
• Support the ERP implementation team activity across the Tax Management lifecycle
• Ensure continuity and accuracy of all BAU Tax activities
• Collaborate with the ERP programme teams to share expertise, input into design decisions, and suggest improvements to the Tax Management lifecycle
• Support the local design phase of the Oracle Fusion Cloud system for day-to-day Tax Management processes

This is a key senior leadership role, responsible for shaping and leading RNID’s community services so that we change lives one by one. The Director of Community Services will lead our flagship RNID Near You services and Contact RNID, with responsibility for business development, operational delivery, service quality, safeguarding, volunteer management and continuous improvement.

Purpose of the role:

The Manager of Business (Consultancy) will play a key role in ensuring the effective delivery and rigorous quality assurance of a range of business services to clients. Working within a growing, dynamic team, the successful candidate will initially hold oversight of our training and eLearning programmes, with the understanding that this function may be separated from the role as the team expands. They will ensure our range of consultancy and training services are delivered to a consistently high standard, sensitively, with compassion, and with a trauma-informed approach, whilst simultaneously evolving our team frameworks, internal systems, and operational risk controls.

This is a pivotal role that sits at the heart of Unseen’s response to worker exploitation, engaging with business clients, developing avenues to increase our range and quality of services, and supporting a growing multi-faceted team to deliver on one of our priority areas. This role demands a flexible approach to deliver in-depth and complex services to businesses, alongside a sharp focus on mitigating operational, data, and reputational risks. It also requires a confident communicator with a keen eye for detail, but with the ability to step back and see the bigger picture. The role requires an individual with a proven track record of managing, coaching, and delegating effectively to a diverse team while protecting workloads and well-being.

The successful candidate will possess experience navigating complex corporate stakeholder environments, confidently engaging with senior leadership, and handling difficult conversations. Competence in synthesising diverse datasets and using CRM tools to transform data into actionable strategy is essential. An understanding of worker exploitation and human rights risk management in complex value chains is desirable.

About Adolescent Health Study

The Adolescent Health Study (AHS) is an ambitious new UKRI-funded initiative to establish a prospective, longitudinal population study that will generate a globally leading open science data platform and research resource. AHS aims to recruit at least 100,000 young people aged eight to 18 years from across the UK and to follow their mental and physical health and wellbeing over at least 10 years. It plans to collect data through questions and measures; to obtain bio-samples for a wide range of genomic and other high-throughput assays; and to capture linked data relevant to health and wellbeing from participants’ health, education and other administrative records. Recruitment will take place mainly through schools. There will be a strong emphasis on engaging with and involving young people, schools, parents and other relevant stakeholders in the design and delivery of the study, as well as on including young people that represent as wide as possible a range of backgrounds, experiences and characteristics. AHS will focus on enabling a wide range of research, including studies of the critical biological and social developments that occur during the transition from childhood to adulthood and the determinants of both mental and physical health and wellbeing in adolescents and young adults.

 

Purpose of the post

 The Procurement Lead is responsible for developing and delivering a robust procurement and commercial strategy that ensures value for money, compliance with Procurement Act 2023 regulations in line with AHS being primarily public funded and supports AHS study and operational objectives. The role will lead on sourcing, contracting, supplier management, and commercial governance, ensuring ethical, transparent, and efficient use of public funds.

Main responsibilities

Procurement Strategy & Leadership

• Develop and implement a procurement and commercial strategy aligned with organisational goals and funding requirements.
• Lead procurement planning across research programmes, operations, and corporate services.
• Act as a subject matter expert on public procurement policy and best practice.

Tendering and Contract Management

• Oversee end-to-end procurement processes including tendering, evaluation, and contract award.
• Ensure compliance with UK public procurement regulations (e.g., Procurement Act and associated guidance).
• Draft, review, and negotiate complex contracts, including research, clinical, and grant-related agreements.
• Manage contract lifecycle including performance monitoring, renewals, and extensions.

Commercial Governance & Compliance

• Establish and maintain procurement policies, procedures, and governance frameworks.
• Ensure all procurement activities meet audit, transparency, and reporting requirements for public funding.
• Identify and mitigate commercial risks across supplier engagements.
• Support internal and external audit processes.

Supplier & Stakeholder Management

Dimensions

• This is a full-time role, 37.5 hours per week, offered initially as an 18-month fixed-term contract with potential route to permanency.

We are looking for an experienced, thoughtful Operations Lead to join our small,

purpose-led CIC. The Operations Lead is central to how Power & Integrity functions day-

to-day, supporting both the running of operations and the development of the systems

and processes that help us work more effectively as we grow. The postholder holds the

operational backbone of the organisation, providing trusted executive and

administrative support, coordinating our consultancy portfolio, supporting financial

processes, and strengthening the systems that allow our work to land reliably and on

time.

Working closely with the Co-Chairs, the Operations, Governance and Risk Committee,

our consultancy, impact and the finance function, the postholder combines hands-on

operational delivery with coordination across our consulting and wider engagements.

This is a varied, practical role suited to someone who enjoys constructing workflows,

anticipating needs, spotting risks early, and creating processes that allow others to do

their best work.

This is not a polished corporate operations role. We are a small organisation, still

evolving how we work, so this role would suit someone who enjoys building, shaping, and

improving systems over time, rather than stepping into something already fully formed.

The role carries responsibility for coordination, administration and reliable delivery. The

postholder enables and supports decision-making, governance and delivery, working

within agreed processes and escalating appropriately, and grows their scope over time.

We resource, connect and champion a network of over 6,300 Warm Welcome Spaces and bring together a growing coalition of local, regional, and national partners representing the worlds of charity, faith, business, government, and philanthropy. To support ongoing growth and development of the Warm Welcome Campaign, we are looking for a Head of Operations to be responsible for supporting the Senior Leadership Team in the effective and efficient running of the Campaign and the coordination and development of our ambitious 5-year strategy. The role will sit within Warm Welcome’s Senior Leadership Team, which also includes the Campaign Director, Director of Communications, Director of Programmes and Development, and will report directly to the Good Faith Partnership Operations Director. 

The purpose of the Warm Welcome Senior Leadership Team is to:

• Own and develop the Warm Welcome strategy, ensuring sustainability and delivery

• Lead, direct, engage and inspire the Warm Welcome team, setting the tone and culture

• Be accountable for significant decisions, challenges and risks.

The Head of Operations role will help to support and co-ordinate the work of the Senior Leadership team to be as effective as possible in achieving this purpose.

Working Arrangements 

• Current members of the team are based across the UK, with some in London, Reading, Bristol, Manchester, York and Northern Ireland. Given the nature of this role we would also expect the applicant to carry out a reasonable amount of travel to both Warm Welcome Spaces and partners across the UK.
