Job title: Professional Communities Manager

Reporting to: Director of Membership

Line Manager Responsibility for: Professional Communities Co-ordinator

Location: This is a remote UK-based role with regular travel to CST’s national and regional events, mainly in Birmingham and London. Candidates within reasonable travel distance to these locations are preferred.

Salary: £41,603 - £45,470 a year.

Pension: We offer a workplace pension and life assurance scheme. CST makes contributions equivalent to 10% of your gross salary.

Annual leave: Initially 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, with an additional two days leave after three years’ service.

Working hours: Full-time 37.5 hours.

Job overview

The Professional Communities Manager leads the development, content curation, and operational delivery of CST’s 11 Professional Communities. These networks, events, and forums are a core benefit of CST membership and are provided free of charge to members.

This is a proactive, member-focused role that blends operational excellence with strategic content oversight. The postholder will work directly with community chairs, subject experts, community supporters, CST platinum partners and members to ensure that all communities are vibrant, professionally hosted, and deliver high-quality, relevant content.

The role also plays a key part in ensuring a joined-up approach to content across CST’s full range of activities, working closely with the professional learning and conference teams and partnerships to ensure alignment and maximise value for members.

Key responsibilities

 Strategic Development and Continuous Improvement

• Develop and implement strategic plans to strengthen the value, engagement, and content of CST Professional Communities.
• Set clear objectives and KPIs to monitor success and drive continuous improvement of community services.
• Regularly evaluate community activity, identifying ways to increase engagement, relevance, and impact for members.

Community Content Curation and Management

• Oversee the quality, consistency, and relevance of content across all 11 Professional Communities, ensuring alignment with member priorities and organisational objectives.
• Work in partnership with community chairs, subject experts, community supporters and CST’s platinum partnerships to proactively commission, curate, and quality-assure community content (e.g., webinars, blogs, resources, discussions).
• Work closely with the professional learning and conference teams to ensure a joined-up, coherent approach to content across CST activity, avoiding duplication and enhancing overall member value.
• Identify content gaps and work creatively, including drawing upon resources and contacts within the policy and partnership team to address them, ensuring a balanced and evolving programme across the communities.

Community Engagement and Facilitation

• Lead and facilitate virtual and in-person community events, ensuring professional delivery and high-quality member interaction.
• Support and brief speakers, chairs, and contributors to ensure a consistently excellent experience for members.
• Actively promote member engagement through community platforms and other channels, driving participation and interaction.

 Stakeholder Relationships

• Build and maintain strong relationships with CST members, community chairs, speakers, and supporters.
• Collaborate with internal colleagues across membership, communications, professional learning, policy, and conference teams to maximise the impact of community activities.
• Manage relationships with sponsors where appropriate, ensuring alignment with CST values.

Digital Platform and Event Management

• Oversee the effective use of digital and platforms (including CiviCRM and Hivebrite,) to host communities, deliver events, and share content.
• Manage operational aspects of events and online communities, ensuring smooth logistics and excellent user experience.

Data, Insight, and Reporting

• Monitor and report on community engagement, content performance, and member feedback, using data to guide improvements.
• Lead the ongoing development of data processes for the communities, ensuring accurate insights are captured and shared.

Team Leadership and Development

• Manage, develop, and support the Professional Communities Coordinator, fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture.
• Encourage learning and development across the team to ensure consistently excellent member service.

Adaptability and Wider Contribution

• Contribute to broader membership engagement strategies and initiatives.
• Undertake any other duties as required by the Director of Membership to support CST’s mission

In this vital role, you will lead the development and delivery of the charity's cash giving programme, including two key postal campaigns and segmented e-newsletters designed to enhance supporter engagement and retention. You will focus on building meaningful, long-term relationships with donors-boosting lifetime value through reactivation, cross-sell opportunities, and uplift strategies. You will also play a central role in a major new acquisition programme, working alongside the Director of Fundraising to recruit around 4,000 new regular givers through private site face-to-face fundraising. • Experience of working in individual giving in a charity including some experience of acquisition campaigns.

Overall Job Purpose

As part of the Service Delivery Team, you will take operational responsibility for managing and developing the delivery of Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) training programmes. You will ensure that corporate and charitable organisations are equipped with practical tools to build inclusive workplace cultures and create accessible career opportunities for young people with additional needs.

In this hands-on role, you will coordinate consultancy projects from start to finish - overseeing scheduling, delivery, marketing, and evaluation - to maintain high standards and meet income targets. Your work will directly support AFK’s mission to create a fairer, more equitable society for people with additional needs.

You will work closely with AFK’s Co-Facilitators - each bringing valuable lived experience - to ensure all EDI training is authentic, relevant, and informed by their expertise.

Working Conditions

The post is 35 hours a week, normally 9:00am to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday. The post holder may be expected to work some evenings and weekends as required by the job.

Business Development

· Work closely with employers and Service Delivery colleagues to create meaningful opportunities for young people with additional needs to gain experience, develop skills, and pursue their aspirations.

Rape Crisis South London is looking for a skilled and experienced professional who is passionate about improving the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people. 
 

This is an exciting opportunity to lead on the delivery of the South West London (SWL) Child Sexual Abuse Early Emotional Support Service for the CYP service. Working closely with the NHS and Schools you will manage a small specialist counselling team ensuring high-quality, trauma informed support for our young people who have experienced sexual violence. It is essential that you have a good working knowledge of Safeguarding legislation for children and adults, as well as child development. 
 

You will have excellent communication and organisational skills and an ability to develop partnerships with schools, families, funders and other key stakeholders. You will hold a relevant professional qualification in counselling or psychotherapy and be registered with the BACP/UKCP or equivalent. You will have significant experience of working therapeutically with children and young people, ideally in the contexts of trauma or abuse. 
 

Responsible to the Clinical Lead for CYP you will also provide additional support in the management and allocation of referrals, as well as provide additional support and advice as required to the wider CYP Service.

How you will make a difference

Reporting to the Prospect Research Manager, you will identify and qualify new prospects across Philanthropy, Trusts & Grants, and Corporate Partnerships. You will carry out in-depth research using a wide range of sources, manage due diligence processes and ensure accurate data is maintained on our CRM systems. You will also work closely with the Interim Head of Trusts and Philanthropy to steward donors and deliver exceptional supporter experiences.

To be successful in this role, you will be an inquisitive, proactive and data-driven fundraiser who enjoys uncovering insights through research and crafting compelling communications that make a meaningful difference to donors.

About this role

As Head of Digital Engagement you will lead SPANA’s digital presence across web, email, social and emerging platforms – ensuring the organisation’s voice, brand and mission are powerfully communicated to global audiences. You will also provide strategic direction and hands-on leadership to the digital team, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration and excellence to maximise impact and drive growth.

Contract, location and salary

This is a full-time (34.5 hours per week), permanent role with a salary of approximately £55,000 per annum subject to skills and experience. This role is UK based, and candidates must have the current right to work in the UK. SPANA staff work remotely, attending our London office once or twice a month (or more if preferred).

Since becoming a charity focused solely on campaigning in 2019, Age UK London has adopted and implemented a new strategy. We have agreed campaign priorities; successfully changed policy at a London-wide and borough level; and adapted our finance, HR and IT systems to better support a campaigning charity.

The Board is looking for a new CEO to lead the charity through the next phase of its development, creating a new strategy to guide its campaigning work making London a better city for older people and to develop a sustainable income stream.

Reports to: the Board

Key duties and responsibilities

· In conjunction with the board, lead the creation of a new strategy for the charity and develop and implement appropriate business and financial plans, with clear objectives and outcomes and to operationalise the strategy, ensuring all activities are aligned to achieve the strategy. 

· Develop and implement a new income generation strategy, including building relationships with funders, and strengthening and growing our individual giving programme to put the charity on the path to becoming financially self-sustaining.

· Work with the Campaigns Manager to continue the delivery of high quality campaigns to make London a better city for older people and position Age UK London; and ensure campaigns are grounded in evidence and the views and experiences of older Londoners.  

• Ensure that the Charity maintains relationships with all appropriate external stakeholders so that our campaigns are successful and the voices of older Londoners are heard in decision making, and to oversee the delivery of our external communications plan.
• Have overall responsibility for the lawful and efficient operation of the Charity including overseeing our outsourced finance function, governance; regulatory reporting; legal and regulatory compliance; HR, premises, insurances, IT and all other operational matters. 
• Maintain our relationships with local London Age UKs via our existing networks and regional structures.
• Ensure appropriate reporting to the board with necessary analysis, (risk/benefits/resources) clearly presented to allow the board to discharge its governance function.
• Line management of the Campaigns Manager and Marketing & Communications Officer.

Person specification

Experience

Essential 

• Experience managing the operational  and financial aspects of a small charity.
• Proven ability to build relationships with funders and secure grant income linked to campaigning activity.
• Practical senior level experience in campaigning to make sustainable change.
• Some experience of working directly with trustees is needed but this does not have to be as a CEO.

Desirable

• Experience acting as the “public face” of a campaigning organisation interfacing with the media, politicians and other stakeholders.
• Experience in the age sector.

• Strong analytical skills and commitment to evidence-based activity.
• Ability to lead and motivate teams that work together to produce clearly identified outcomes.
