The Royal College of Radiologists (RCR) is a membership organisation dedicated to supporting our members to improve the standard of medical practice across the fields of radiology and oncology. As the team lead you play a critical role in supporting the high-performing Operations team through day-to-day supervision to meet service-level agreements and deadlines. You’ll ensure the smooth functioning of our membership processes, act as the first point of contact for queries from the team and provide an excellent service to our members, doing your part to contribute to the overall success of the RCR.

What you’ll do:

• Coordinate and deliver the members’ annual renewal processes and manage communications channels and copy.
• Manage the member life cycle and regularly review operational processes, policies and practices, with oversight from the Membership Operations Manager.
• Supervise the Operations Team in line with goals and objectives agreed by the Operations Manager, providing motivation, coaching and direction on a day-to-day basis.
• Be the point of contact to assist and support members of the Operations Team in relation to member escalations and queries.
• Work closely with the Operations Manager to manage and plan current and future workload to ensure the team meets deadlines, provides an exceptional service and reaches service level agreements (SLAs).
• Develop comprehensive and presentable reports to support data-led decision making, renewals tracking, KPI targets or to provide insights.
• Management of budget lines assigned to operational activities to ensure favourable terms are achieved.

What the job involves

We’re looking an Events and Community Fundraising Coordinator to join our high performing Events and Community Team. The team are driven to maximise opportunities, we aim to reach ambitious targets and provide an excellent supporter experience.

Our team raise funds through a range of activities including:

• Our own events (e.g. March for Men)
• Virtual products (e.g. The Month Series)
• Third party events (e.g. London Marathon)
• Golf Days
• Helping community fundraisers who organise their own activity

You’ll be supporting our third-party events programme and be our first point of contact for our fundraisers. You'll provide admin support for our registration processes and support fundraisers through telephone, email, and social media channels. You’ll build and manage relationships with existing and new supporters. From registration to the end of their supporter journey you'll help motivate during challenges, offer fundraising advice and ensure thanks at the end of a first-class experience.

Whilst third party events will be your primary area of responsibility across different types of events, you’ll also get the chance to work across teams to provide support where needed during busy periods of activity.

This role works with data through maintaining our Raiser’s Edge database. You'll also update records on JustGiving and Enthuse. This requires accuracy and working under the requirements of GDPR.

You’ll also work with our Communications teams supports the planning and delivery of our activity. You'll help engage with our digital adverts and identify compelling supporter stories. This helps to raise the profile of our fundraising products, as well as prostate cancer and Prostate Cancer UK.

The Development Manager (Individual Giving) will manage the strategic development of Individual Giving, identifying opportunities to drive growth in this area. • Collaborate with colleagues across the organisation to grow visitor giving, taking a multi-channel and innovative approach.
• Proactively manage a personal portfolio of prospects and donors to secure mid- and major-level gifts from Individuals, ensuring that tailored moves management strategies are employed to meaningfully move relationships towards solicitation.

The Development Manager (Trust and Foundations) will manage the strategic development of Trusts and Foundations fundraising, identifying opportunities to drive growth in this area. The post-holder will oversee income generation from grant-making organisations and ensure timely reporting to funders.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate the following essential requirements:

• Drive growth of Trusts and Foundations income especially at the five- and six-figure level, with a particular view to supporting unrestricted income and major projects in the organisation’s pipeline.
• Proactively manage a personal portfolio of Trusts and Foundations, regularly meeting and engaging with prospective funders to pitch proposals and check-in around expectations. 
• Liaise with key internal stakeholders to develop accurate, compelling funding applications in line with deadlines set by funders. 
• Build lasting relationships with funders in order to establish opportunities for multi-year income generation.
• Drive the Trusts and Foundations prospecting process and increase the range of prospects approached for support, utilising prospect research tools and securing introductions from our network.

• Proactively keep abreast of competitor activities, new initiatives and sector trends.

What can we offer you?

The salary band for this role is £35,000 - £39,000 per annum, dependent on relevant skills and experience.

Since opening membership in 2017, we have grown rapidly. In total our work reaches nearly 50,000 teachers and more than 3 million young people. In 2020 we published reports ‘Education in Times of Crisis’ around the impact of lockdown which have since been cited in educational reports and academic papers; in 2021 we won the Memcom award for ‘Best magazine for a Professional Association or Membership Organisation’; in 2022 we celebrated the graduation of over 246 teachers from our Chartered Teacher and Chartered Teacher (Leadership) pathways. We are a growing and multi-skilled team of 30 people, supported by a Board with a significant track record of experience in a range of fields. Our business plan focuses on growing membership and Chartered programmes and providing meaningful professional learning opportunities for the teaching profession. This role will support us to deliver an excellent service to our members and those engaged with our CPD pathways, publications and research activity.

Requirements

We are looking to recruit a Head of Member Acquisition and Engagement on a part-time contract. This is an exciting new role that will play a key part in our continued growth and will make a real impact on the teaching profession; we are looking for someone who believes in our mission and the work we do.

Working closely with the Deputy Chief Executive, Associate Director: Partnerships and the Marketing and Communications Manager, the Head of Member Acquisition and Engagement will take a lead on activity related to attracting and retaining our individual teacher members, including developing, rolling out and evaluating recruitment and retention programmes, initiatives and campaigns for current and prospective members. The successful candidate will be confident using data to inform decision-making and monitor progress towards membership growth targets and have the ability to work well independently and within a team.

Main area of work

The majority of your time will be spent developing, implementing and evaluating strategies to secure individual membership growth, including through retaining current members and attracting new members.

The role is ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships externally and working with a range of colleagues across the organisation. You’ll be an expert on our products and services, and you’ll use our CRM system and other data sources to understand membership trends, challenges and opportunities.

You will ensure the Chartered College of Teaching is responsive to the needs of the sector, making sure that we understand our members and ensuring that every member gets maximum value from engagement with our products and services.

Additional areas of work

• Working closely with the Marketing and Communications Manager, planning recruitment campaigns and strategising content and resources for membership initiatives
• With the Associate Director: Partnerships, ensuring join-up between group membership sales and individual member sales
• Promoting and representing the Chartered College to potential members at events
• Working with the Membership Manager to ensure a seamless experience for members from their first interaction with us
• Recording, presenting, formatting and analysing data in a variety of ways to report to colleagues and stakeholders, including against KPIs.
• Performing other activities as and when required to support the wider team to achieve the charity’s goals.

Alongside your main areas of work, you will also participate in meetings and be encouraged to participate in CPD learning activities and training to maintain and develop your knowledge and skills.

You don’t need to have expertise in absolutely all areas, but we’re looking for someone who is motivated by our vision and truly passionate about membership growth and supporting teachers. Systems you would be using include Salesforce, DotDigital, Google Workspace, Zoom, Submittable and Slack.

Experience and skills:

• Experience in a sales or business development role (essential), with experience of membership or subscription sales highly desirable
• Experience working in the education sector (highly desirable)
• Experience of developing, delivering and evaluating sales initiatives and campaigns (essential)
• Strong Excel and data analysis skills (essential)
• Experience of Salesforce or other CRM systems (essential)
• Excellent written and oral communication skills (desirable)

We’re looking for a talented and enthusiastic Scientific Knowledge and Communications Officer who has a passion for delivering high quality scientific information to a range of different audiences.  You’ll have excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to make complex information engaging and accessible.  You’ll require strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise and manage your workload to meet strict deadlines. 

About the role

This is an exciting time to join Myeloma UK as we launch our new five year strategy. 

The post holder will be responsible for developing evidence led scientific communications that help engage new audiences as we aim to reach new people as part of our strategic goals.  You will use your science communication expertise to bring our research and scientific information to life for a variety of audiences from people affected by myeloma to health care professionals as well as scientists and researchers.

You will support other teams across Myeloma UK by helping to develop engaging evidence led impactful communications that can be used for appeals, case for support and other activities.  You’ll also work with our research and health care professional community to engage and involve them in our communications activities.
