We are seeking to appoint two experienced Safeguarding Officers on a permanent contract; altogether 1.3 full-time equivalent between the two posts, with hours being negotiable with successful candidates.The post holders will have a relevant professional qualification and be able to demonstrate a proven track record of direct safeguarding practice with vulnerable adults or children or both. The successful applicants will be expected to provide effective leadership across the District to promote a culture of safeguarding, whilst supporting survivors of abuse.Working with partners from the Church’s Learning Network, the post holders will be expected to contribute to the planning and delivery of the District’s safeguarding training programme.

The post holders will be expected to be in sympathy with the aims of the Methodist Church.

Location: Home-based, own transport is essential as travel will be required region-wide.We need one member of staff to cover Cumbria and North Lancashire.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, between 09:00 and 17:00. Also to include some evenings and occasional weekends.

Salary: £40,000 to £42,000 pro rata, dependent on experience.

Holidays: 25 days plus 8 bank holidays

EduSpots is an innovative, dynamic, and community-driven UK and Ghanaian registered charity which connects, trains, and equips voluntary community educators to drive community-led change through education spaces named ‘Spots’. About this role

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic fundraising professional, with a proven track record of income generation and a strong ability to develop impactful relationships with the skills to bring aligned individuals and organisations into our long-term EduSpots community. The post holder will be creative, passionate and self-motivated, with strong marketing and communications skills, able to design and implement strategic fundraising approaches. 

In this role, you will take on responsibility for identifying, creating and delivering impactful fundraising strategies that enable us to generate further relationships and income in support of our programmes. 

You will oversee the development of our individual giving and monthly giving strategies and further develop relationships with schools, corporate organisations and NGOs, with a focus on resource acquisition (e.g. books, electronic devices) alongside fundraising. You will also play a supportive role in events and campaigns, and work closely with our Head of Communications to ensure our marketing and communications strategy is integrated with our fundraising aims. Currently, we already have a trusts and foundations manager, but would welcome applicants with experience of trust fundraising.

Main Duties and Responsibilities 

The key responsibilities of this role are to:

• Develop our individual giving and monthly giving strategies, including:

  • Ensuring we have the right tools in place.

  • Strengthening thanking and communications to existing supporters.

  • Trialling new strategies for outreach to new audiences.

• Organise occasional fundraising events (e.g. face-to-face events in London; virtual events and fundraising challenges).

• Support organisation and delivery of appeals and campaigns (e.g. the Big Give).

• Support the development of impactful relationships with schools, universities, corporates and NGOs for fundraising and resource acquisition (e.g. books, digital devices, science equipment). 

• If time and experience, possibly support grant applications. 

• Line manage, and provide support to, the intern/s (fundraising).

• Ensure all administrative tasks relating to the role are carried out accurately.

Skills, Experience and Attributes

Essential

• Proven track record of successful income generation from individuals or communities - ideally in a similar education / international development organisation 

• Experience of developing and maintaining successful income generating relationships (e.g. with schools, corporates, individuals, communities)

• Experience of digital marketing to engage new charity supporters / donors (including using paid advertising and innovative engagement techniques)

• Experience of email marketing and donor conversion strategies

• Strong communication and marketing skills, ideally with basic design skills (Canva)

• Ability to work effectively in a remote based role with minimal day-to-day support 

• Outstanding interpersonal skills 

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

• Ability to use own initiative and work to tight and competing deadlines

• Ability to effectively manage workload and prioritise tasks

Who we are

The problem - On average, 160 young people are excluded from school each week. Once excluded, prospects for these young people are bleak, with only 4% achieving good GCSE grades, and 67% entering sustained education, employment or training compared to 96% of their non-excluded peers. This can be a pipeline to prison, with concerning statistics showing 63% of prisoners having been excluded from school.

Our mission - To ensure that young people who have been excluded from school are not excluded from society.

Who we serve - We support the hardest to reach young people in the most disadvantaged communities, each of whom are most at risk of experiencing school exclusion or are at risk of being excluded. Young people who are eligible for free school meals are 4x more likely to get excluded, along with black Caribbean boys. Young people with special educational needs are also six times as likely to be excluded as their peers.

Our work - We work in a number of different settings both during term time and after school. Our coaches lead small groups of 8-10 young people, using sport as a hook and mentorship as an anchor to develop their soft skills, as well as improve their physical & mental wellbeing. This, coupled with exposure to the work place through Career Taster Days, raises their aspirations and puts young people in a better position to enter sustained education, employment or training (EET) when they leave school.

We are looking for people to join our team across England and Wales in Newcastle, Liverpool, Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Cardiff, Luton, Milton Keynes, London.

We are recruiting Youth Workers across our delivery locations in England and Wales to join our squad in August for the new academic year. This is a frontline role where you will spend the majority of your time working with young people, building relationships with them and delivering our full programme of activities which includes rugby based activity sessions, employability workshops, career taster days and more.

You will be working with some of the hardest to reach young people who are most at risk of exclusion, in small groups of 8-10. We use rugby as a hook and mentorship as an anchor, using our four cornerstones (developing life skills, raising aspirations, improving physical wellbeing, focus on mental wellbeing) to develop young people throughout their time with us. We enable young people to be in a better position to enter sustained education, employment or training (EET) when they leave school. 

The delivery team always work in pairs, running our interventions across a variety of settings (including mainstream schools, Pupil Referral Units, Alternative Provisions, SEN schools, Youth Offenders Institutes, community centres and rugby clubs) working in the school timetable and between 3-7pm. While delivering our interventions is a big part of the job, you will also be responsible for supporting the team to ensure the successful collection of data, managing school relationships and delivering on partnership projects.

You do not need to be a rugby fanatic for this role, but you do need to be passionate about social mobility of the excluded. We are looking for someone with a youth work, teaching, mentoring or sports coaching background to help strengthen our team as we work towards our forward strategy.

We are looking for two individuals to help deliver an impactful GOALS service across London and build effective networks of support for people before, during and after treatment.

A main aspect of the role will be to support and work closely with individuals presenting with lived experience of gambling harm issues and/or people affected by this issue. The GOALS Supporter will understand gambling related harm and dependency issues and be able to ensure safe working environments and take a robust lead on safeguarding and harm minimisation procedures and policy.

The post holder will work with the Director of Support Services and GOALS Coordinator to support the development and maintenance of the systems and structure of the service, ensuring that governance and polices are implemented, safeguarding and safe working practices are systematic and develop a clear understanding of how the service integrates with the national gambling treatment service.

We’re a small charity that brings communities together to create cleaner, connected and safer urban and rural neighbourhoods by tackling the litter problems where they live. Litter-picking brings people closer together, enables neighbours to meet one another other and helps create a greater sense of pride and community in local areas.

About the role:

This role is home working based with travel in the London Area.

As a Homicide Service Children's and Young People caseworker you will be:

• Delivering a specialist service to children and young people (CYP) bereaved by homicide, and for those CYP who have witnessed a homicide.
• Working collaboratively and jointly within the Homicide Service and other relevant organisations that can help to progress identified needs and ensure that young people are central to all processes that involve them.

You will be responsible for providing a high-quality, front-line service to bereaved young people following murder or manslaughter. As part of our fund management programmes, THET will be conducting a variety of international visits and events in the next 11 months. We require a consultant to lead the administration of the logistics involved in this work.

Assignment overview and scheduling

The consultant will provide logistical support across three main categories:

1. Scoping assessments in four sub-Saharan African countries, namely Ethiopia, Malawi, Somaliland and Zimbabwe
   1. A scoping assessment is a week-long series of in-person meetings with Ministry of Health and other relevant government sector representatives, subnational health agencies and government authorities, regulatory bodies, training institutions, FCDO, UK DHSC, WHO local offices.
   2. Each visit will likely involve up to 3 staff travelling from the UK to the country
   3. The consultant will be responsible for organising their travel rather than the scoping assessment meetings.
2. Delegation visit from Zimbabwe to UK
   1. A week-long visit of up to 7 Ministry of Health representatives and other national stakeholders to the UK
   2. The consultant will be responsible for organising their travel and some of the meetings while in-country.
3. Programme launch events in Ethiopia, Malawi, Somaliland and Zimbabwe
   1. A one-day long event in each country, with between 40-80 attendees
   2. Each event will likely see 2-3 staff travelling from the UK to the country. The consultant will be required to organise their travel and venue booking.

Knowledge, Skills and Expertise required

To successfully undertake this assignment, the Consultant should meet the following minimum requirements:

• International travel logistics experience, ideally in sub-Saharan Africa
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Budget preparation and tracking
• Proven organisational and administrative skills, with sound IT skills (Word and Excel)
• Flexibility and adaptability working within a small organisation
• Ability to work independently and take the initiative

The contract is for 40 days over eleven months. The Consultant will receive a daily rate of £180, which totals to £7,200 for the whole programme. The consultant will invoice THET on a monthly basis. Please note that this is non-negotiable and will cover all expenses apart from project-related travel and communication expenses. Where reasonable travel and communications expenses are incurred, the Consultant will be remunerated following submission of timely and accurate receipts.

Receipts must be kept, where possible, in order to claim for support costs. Consultants will not be expected to use their own funds to cover project-related costs.

Our charity, the Jon Egging Trust, is looking for a highly motivated individual with experience of working with young people, to plan and deliver inspiring teamwork, leadership and employability programmes in East Anglia. The role involves liaising with school staff, local partners (including the Military and local businesses) and volunteers to ensure programmes meet the needs of our young people and is supported by the Regional Manager, East Anglia.

The successful candidate will be based from home with a requirement to travel to partner schools and business sites predominantly around Wisbech and Swaffham. Working with secondary schools to provide early support programmes, core delivery time is usually within the school working day and during school terms only. All other working hours can be managed with flexibility by the post holder to ensure that all administrative tasks are completed as required.

Children’s online safety is both an important and an urgent issue and the need for our unique work here at Breck Foundation is greater now than ever. The primary purpose of this role is to help children and young people take practical steps to become more digitally resilient and be safer online. Our freelance School Engagement Officers introduce the highly impactful Breck’s story into schools and other youth and community spaces across the country and deliver inspiring, educational talks to students, parents and guardians, teachers, and other groups in a ‘whole community’ approach.

Breck Foundation is at the forefront of efforts to safeguard children and young people online. Our organisation was founded in 2014 in response to the tragic loss of Breck Bednar, a 14-year-old boy who was groomed and murdered by someone he met online. Our work aims to prevent this from ever happening again. Our work saves lives. We reach thousands of children and young people in schools and other community settings with Breck's story every year. Our talks and educational materials fill a gap in the current UK curriculum that otherwise leaves children vulnerable to online grooming and exploitation. With 98% of young people now active internet users, current and future generations grow up having to navigate new and evolving digital dangers. We are committed to making the internet a place where children can live, play, and thrive in safety. We are helping young people reclaim the internet. 

Training: All necessary training will be provided, and time spent in training will be compensated.

More specifically, the post holders will:

• Research speaking opportunities and engage/build sustainable relationships with schools and other youth spaces with the aim of securing speaking engagements (known as bookings).

• Work with the Breck Foundation team to set up all new speaking engagements and ensure set communication processes are met and all calendar entries completed.

• Maintain relationships with named contacts within schools and other youth spaces with a view to achieving repeat bookings.

• Where practical, to attend and deliver bookings at different locations using the Foundation’s standardised PowerPoint presentations, with a commitment to educate/raise awareness among young people, staff, parents & carers about the dangers young people face from online grooming through gaming and social media and other online harms. School Engagement Officer (Freelance) Role Description

• Where impractical to deliver bookings secured, to work with the Foundation team to ensure that the booking is assigned appropriately and delivered to a high standard.

• Represent the Foundation in a professional manner and to protect and advance the Foundation’s profile in all engagements, including to work collaboratively with other colleagues to identify new ways to raise awareness of the foundation’s mission and to help expand their scope, reach and geographical coverage and income generation capabilities.

• If delivering bookings, carryout pre- and post-delivery engagements, including sharing pre and post presentation packs with schools and actively seeking feedback, testimonials and even Vox Pops where possible; and to log these on Salesforce.

• Reporting of data to contribute to organisational impact, including using surveys to document statistics for each engagement, for example number of pupils reached by age group.

• Log all notable interactions with schools and other organisation and institutions in the relevant organisation’s Salesforce account to enable the team to avoid duplication and maintain professionalism in our engagements with them.

• Provide ad hoc services which may be requested from time to time.

About the role

As Project Officer you will play a central role in the delivery of INTRAC’s consultancy assignments and grant funded projects. This will involve coordinating short and long term projects, involving staff and consultants through our global network and clients around the world, ensuring effective and quality delivery. We carry out a wide variety of assignments, ranging from project evaluations to bespoke in-house training and learning partner roles for complex, multi-country civil society strengthening programmes.

The Head of Legacies and In Memory will work with the Associate Director of Fundraising and Marketing to build and develop the vital legacy and in memory programme. The role will include the development of innovative and engaging marketing strategies - including recruitment and stewardship across legacies and in memory. Furthermore, you will investigate new audiences and channels  to increase engagement and use your excellent budgetary management to produce detailed income forecasting.

Key elements of the role include:

• creating and implementing multi-channel campaigns to recruit new legacy supporters from warm audiences and increase the number of legacies notified from these sources
• developing excellent stewardship plans for legacy enquirers, intenders and pledgers and for all in memory and tribute donors
• introducing new transformational projects and exploring new avenues and audiences for legacy and in memory giving beyond our existing audiences
• creating and implementing a detailed in memory and tribute fundraising plan based on analysis of donor sources, income and activity
• providing accurate, regular activity and income updates and forecasts to our Senior Leadership Team

To be considered for this position the ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate;

• Proven experience and a successful track record at a senior level in legacy fundraising, including the creation, development and implementation of strategic fundraising plans.
• A credible senior professional with good influencing skills and a can do and hands on approach.
• Demonstrable ability to deliver against agreed financial and performance targets, timescales and objectives.
