We are looking for a motivated major gifts fundraiser to join our small fundraising team to support our ambitious goal to raise £20 million in support of the Be the Spark campaign.

This role is perfect for a collaborative self-starter who wants to make an impact, working at all levels of the organisation to maximise the relationships that will enable the Ri to succeed. You will be used to managing a portfolio of donors or high value clients and be comfortable working with donors at the highest levels. 

You will collaborate across the Ri to develop innovative and compelling proposals, delivering excellent account management and stewardship to existing donors, and identifying, researching and cultivating new prospects.

If you are a warm, professional and engaging communicator, adept at managing a portfolio of high net worth donors  and able to work at all levels of the organisation to cultivate and develop influential  relationships, we would love to hear from you.

This role is full time (35 hours), permanent and requires a willingness to travel, including some overnight stays and occasional weekends. Requests to work flexibly or part-time will be considered.

This is an essential car user post. The applicant must hold a current UK driver’s licence, with no more than 6 points, have access to a car and be able and willing to drive UK wide as required.

This role is offered on a hybrid basis with a minimum of 2 days in our Amersham office each week. As part of the role, UK wide travel is necessary. which may on occasion include early morning and/or evening working and sometimes overnight stays.  You may also occasionally be required to attend evening or weekend conferences and events. The Role

What will I be doing?

As Project Officer, Workforce Partnerships, you’ll be part of the Education and Workforce team, supporting our mission to build a strong, diverse physics workforce for the future. Your work will help leverage our evidence and insights to identify and develop institutional partnerships through which we can deliver sustainable impact against our Skills priorities.

You will also take a lead in celebrating the crucial role of physics-related technical talent in the workplace through operational administration of our flagship Technical Skills Awards.

You’ll support the delivery of projects, working closely with colleagues across the organisation, IOP Members and external stakeholders.

Projects and activities you may work on include:

• Supporting stakeholder mapping and engagement activities to drive impactful new partnership development.
• Helping to design and deliver workshops, events and engagement campaigns. As an example, this could include supporting the development of case studies, and digital and print collateral, to raise the awareness and visibility of physics-related routes to employment.
• Leading the annual cycle of delivery, administration and operation of the IOP’s Technical Skills Awards.
• Supporting the management of project processes including bids, contracts, MOUs, budgets and reporting.

About the Department/ Team 

RUSI’s Proliferation and Nuclear Policy (PNP) programme addresses issues raised by the development and spread of nuclear, chemical and biological weapons, and related technologies, through innovative research, dialogue and partnership with national and international bodies.

Main purpose of post  

The PONI Project Manager will be responsible for delivery and development of the United Kingdom Project on Nuclear Issues (UK PONI), a flagship project for the PNP programme. Since 2009, UK PONI has helped to address the nuclear policy and technology challenges of tomorrow by developing and sustaining emerging nuclear specialists from industry, academia, government, and the military, and by connecting them with established experts. Its goal is to build a vibrant and diverse community of well-informed, well-connected and capable nuclear specialists in the UK. 

To do this, it seeks to connect across boundaries, be they technical-policy, senior-junior, government and non-government, military-civilian, pro- and anti-nuclear, and internationally; it looks at ways it can help members of the nuclear community develop their knowledge and skills, including by promoting diversity of inclusion and representation; and it provides a platform for emerging talent, principally through its Annual Conference and through the UK PONI blog, Nuclear Reactions. UK PONI has great growth potential, and RUSI’s goal for the PM is to realise this by taking responsibility for driving the project forward, expanding funding and its membership, while maintaining the high standards of the existing programme and our established relationships.

Key tasks  

The Project Manager will: 

• Oversee and implement the UK PONI strategy, ensuring effective delivery and alignment with the wider Proliferation and Nuclear Policy (PNP) programme. 

• Develop and implement communications and engagement strategies for the UK PONI community and funders, including managing newsletters, social media channels, and marketing activity to enhance reach, visibility, and impact. 

• Build and strengthen the UK PONI community both online and offline, fostering collaborations with PONI partners and other organisations and networks across the UK with an interest in nuclear issues. 

• Lead on the production and publication of UK PONI’s quarterly newsletter FUSION and the Nuclear Reactions series. 

• Plan, organise, and deliver UK PONI events, workshops, and conferences in the UK and abroad, providing full logistical and administrative support. 

• Prepare materials for meetings of the UK PONI Board of Advisors and support fundraising, business development, and ongoing liaison with funders. 

• Facilitate business planning and contribute to the development of annual work plans and strategic objectives. 

• Manage bids, grants, and financial reporting, including the creation and monitoring of budgets and submission of reports to funders. 

• Monitor project schedules, track team tasks, and collate programme-wide project management information to support effective delivery and coordination. 

• Deliver internal and external outreach and engagement activities to promote UK PONI’s work and strengthen stakeholder relationships.

Skills and Experience Required: 

We are looking for someone with a Level 3 or higher qualification in Early Years Education, Social Care, or Health, with experience supporting children with SEND and their families. You will have strong communication, organisational, and IT skills (including Office 365 and MS Teams), and be confident leading a team in a multi-disciplinary setting. A solid understanding of child development and safeguarding is essential, along with the flexibility to work across multiple sites. Ideally, you will also have experience in outreach or family support work, knowledge of local services, training in Paediatric First Aid or Health & Safety, and familiarity with communication tools like Makaton. Experience supporting siblings of children with SEND is also desirable.

Engagement Coordinator 

Brighton and Hove Speak Out is a dynamic local advocacy charity. We support people with learning disabilities to have a voice and choice and control over their lives through providing a range of advocacy services and community projects.    

We are seeking to appoint a part time Advocacy and Engagement Coordinator to deliver a programme of engagement and consultation activity. The post holder will support people with learning disabilities to have their say about local services, share their experience about how support and services impact on their lives and make recommendaitions for improvements.

The role involves organising outreach and consultation on different issues. The post holder will support a group of self-advocates (the Link Group) to take part in planning, running and reporting to the Learning Disability Partnership Board.  

The Post Holder will also support health advocacy, training and awareness raising at Speak Out. They will support the ‘Thumbs Up' campaign led by a group of Speak Out members.

About you

The successful candidate will need excellent communication and organisational skills, including report writing, and will be able to manage a complex workload. Experience of advocacy and/or group work with vulnerable clients is essential. Knowledge of learning disability services and experience of working with people with learning disabilities is an advantage.

Brief role description

As part of the Marketing, Communication, Fundraising and Events Directorate, the Events Manager will work operationally across the charity, primarily delivering the OP ASCEND Employment Pathways series alongside other agreed key FEC events. You will also be aware of all FEC current and future event requirements, develop the annual events schedule with the Senior Events Manager and oversee the event planner management software with the wider Event Team members. You will also create reports and presentations to show the event impact and key KPI delivery.

Location: Hybrid (regular visits to the London-based offices, client meetings and events)
Work pattern: Fixed contract, 12 months – 21 hours per week

Person Specification 

• A practising Christian who is passionate about personally representing the Christian values of Resurgo and committed to Resurgo’s mission to inspire and equip organisations to bring about ambitious and sustainable social change.
• Excellent relationship building and proposal writing skills. Experience in Trust fundraising or an equivalent field is desirable but not essential.
• Excellent people skills, able to relate well to colleagues of all seniority levels as well as external stakeholders.
• Well organised and efficient; calm under pressure; able to juggle competing deadlines and priorities, splitting time across multiple projects.
• Confident with numbers and interpreting project budgets. Some knowledge of Trust fundraising is desirable.
• A desire to grow and develop, able to receive and give feedback confidently as well as share their ideas with the team.

Key Responsibilities

Relationship Management

• Provide tailored, high-quality stewardship to a range of large and medium-sized Trusts & Foundations.
• Identify and pursue new funding opportunities and build relationships with new Trusts and Foundations to further grow this income stream.
• Prioritise research to constantly develop future pipeline.
• Work with Head of Philanthropy and other senior stakeholders in engaging potential funders and managing strategic Trusts partners.

Write applications and reports

• Develop compelling funding applications for Trusts and occasionally statutory funders, articulating Resurgo's vision and strategy to persuasively engage new donors with a focus on raising five and six-figure grants.
• Stay ahead of sector trends, media, and political context to market Resurgo's interventions in a compelling way.
• Develop general communications on the work of Resurgo to inspire and update our Trust audience.
• Produce reports and updates on the impact of our work for funders in a timely manner. 

Data Management and Monitoring

• Update our internal database (Salesforce) with all donor interactions, donations and other details in a timely and efficient manner and with strong attention to detail, and analyse data to give insights' and drive future activity.
• Manage the Trusts & Foundations pipeline and report on income and other KPIs, and ensure Trusts & Foundations team meets monthly targets and deadlines.

Line Management

• Actively manage and develop the Trusts & Foundations Executive to help them grow personally and in their role.

About the role

Reporting in to the Business Development Lead (MCC), the role of Business Development Manager for the East and Southern Africa region is a key role is being responsible for securing new funding aligned to Christian Aid's strategy and thematic priorities. 

The role will lead business development efforts across the Multi-Country Cluster (MCC) and expand the Institutional funding portfolio and collaborate closely with and strategically advise MCC Head of Impact and Partnership & Impact Funding (PIF) team and MCC teams to develop donor engagement strategies, build funding pipelines, identify new opportunities, and establish partnerships to grow program portfolios. 

The post-holder will strengthen and maintain relationships with government agencies, multilateral organisations, institutional donors, and foundations, working in coordination with MCC Programme Portfolio and Partnership teams.

Some of the main responsibilities and accountabilities of the role are:

• Meet institutional Christian Aid income targets at the MCC level, actively contributing to PIF overall divisional goals.
• Collaborate closely with Head of Impact and Partnership Business Development teams on strategic funding to secure new and grow existing funding by developing donor engagement strategies, growing funding pipelines, identifying new opportunities and establishing partnerships to grow program portfolios. 
• Build and cultivate strategic partnerships with institutional donors, including government bodies, multilateral agencies, and foundations, to expand funding opportunities across the MCC and beyond, in coordination with the Partnership and Business Development team in PIF.
• Build a wide network of contacts and funding relationships across the MCC region with donors, peers, consortia partners and implementing agencies.
• Develop high-quality funding proposals coordinating with Impact department, partners, donors and the relevant donor audience unit in Partnerships and Impact Funding, ensuring alignment with thematic priorities, signature programmes and donor requirements.
• Work closely with the MCC Contracts and Portfolio Manager to ensure seamless integration with MCC delivery teams.
• Supervise the onboarding of new programs, ensuring seamless integration with MCC delivery teams.
• Work closely with the MCC Contracts and Portfolio Manager to maintain compliance and accountability, reviewing reporting for quality assurance.

About you

Who we are looking for:

Essential

• Proven track record in securing multiple multi-million-pound grants for NGOs.
• Substantial experience in building and cultivating strategic donor partnerships including engagement at global, regional and country mission levels with senior stakeholders and demonstrable experience of engaging with private sector, foundations, government and multi-lateral donors.
• Proven track record of developing multi-million pound budgets.
• Advanced knowledge of donor funding landscape and emerging trends.
• Substantial expertise in leading multi-discipline bid teams for grant and commercial agreements.
• Substantial expertise and experience in project design, monitoring and evaluation tools and developing grant budgets.
• Substantial background in humanitarian programming and working with humanitarian donors at UN, bilateral, and NGO levels.

Desirable

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education.
• Donor certifications and compliance training are desirable qualifications for the role, ensuring a strong understanding of donor requirements and adherence to industry standards and regulations.
• Extensive knowledge of donor programming modalities, compliance frameworks, and negotiation processes and experience interpreting. 
• Negotiating grant & contract agreements and substantial understanding of financial controls.
• Demonstrable management experience, including remote management and coaching

UK People Support Team Lead

Contract: Permanent, Full-time, 35 hours per week

About the role

A key leadership position in the UK, responsible for leading a dynamic and talented team who delivers the highest standards of operational support to WaterAiders in country. The role will need to plan, prioritise, and deliver to a high standard what we promise in order to deliver our ambitious mission.

Responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of UK payroll, pension, and the annual reward process. You will support and coach your team for the development, review and application of UK policies and procedures and be a key stakeholder to our people system Administrator.

You will be working in a matrix environment across the UK People Team and the wider People and Organisational Development function.

In this role, you will:

Team Leadership

• Manage, coach and build the capabilities of the People Support Team, their performance and development in line with our values and people promise.
• Expertise and ownership of UK People Team policies, processes and procedures, ensuring that they meet legislative requirements, are fit for purpose and in line with best practice and organisational priorities under the umbrella of our employee value proposition.
• Lead the delivery of the programme of work so that service standards at met, solutions are pragmatic and driven by our values, minimising risk.

Payroll, Pension and Reward

• Accountable for the delivery of the UK monthly payroll and pension processes, providing oversight and support to the work of the in-house Payroll Officer and being a back-up to their role, to ensure payroll is run accurately each month.
• Implement the annual pay award operationally ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness of payment to all UK based staff.
• Implementation of a new payroll system for the UK.

Systems and Reporting

• Primary super user in the UK of HR Information System, PeoplePlace, ensuring effective and efficient use of the system. Responsible that the country's employee data is correct and in compliance with data protection.
• Drive the importance of data and people analytics and create a culture of data-based decision-making and insight across the team.
• Ownership of maintaining the monthly UK headcount establishment data with key stakeholders in Finance.
• Annual analysis and statutory reporting of the Pay Gap in the UK.

Compliance and Contract Management

• Act as the UK Team specialist on areas of HR compliance, working with 3rd parties and specialist advisors, to ensure that our policies, processes and practices are compliant and meet legal requirements.
• Responsible for data protection in the People Team, provide senior expertise and build capability across the wider people function.

Other

• Ownership of salary calculations in the event of employee termination and/or redundancy.
• Monthly payroll and pension sign off.
• Budget management and invoice approval.

Requirements

To be successful, you will need:

Functional skills

• Proven experience in leading, managing and developing a high-performing people operations team in a matrix, fast-paced organisation.
• Proven experience in managing and running in-house payroll for at least 250 staff or more.
• Excellent understanding of HR policy development; and proven experience in developing and embedding HR policies, processes and procedures that are fit for purpose.
• A qualified and robust HR Practitioner who has sound and up-to-date knowledge of employment law, tax and legislative requirements affecting a wide spectrum of HR policies and practice, i.e. payroll, pension, reward and benefits, together with their application in the context of the employee experience.
• Working knowledge and experience of HR and Payroll systems, to maximise the functionality and create efficiencies.
• Demonstrate project management capability.
• Proven experience in contract management and managing a wide range of third-party service providers.

Personal qualities

• A self-starter who is focused on delivery and execution: proactive in bringing solutions and recommendations to resolve problems and continuously improve HR practices.
• Able to navigate uncertainty and ambiguity: comfortable working at pace. Resilient and able to work under pressure.

Desirable capabilities

• Degree-level education or equivalent.
