The Role

An exciting opportunity to be part of a LGBT+ support service.The successful candidate will provide effective person-centred support to LGBT+ people living in Causeway’s specialist LGBT+ supported housing.Support clients to achieve tangible progress in areas such as tenancy management, independent living skills and training/education.Support LGBT+ clients to develop greater self-esteem and self-confidence. Equip clients for independent living and move-on to more independent accommodation.Develop support plans with individual clients that reflect their ambitions and aspirations with clear actions for achieving these. Contribute to risk assessment and safeguarding plans. Ensure clients settle into their accommodation and become familiar with the local area. Work closely with the Housing Team to ensure residents are complying with the terms of their occupancy agreements. Contribute to client involvement within the LGBT+ supported housing service. Be aware of trauma informed working, particularly with regard to trauma experienced by LGBT+ people. Ensure clients are linked into appropriate support services and sustain engagement with services.

We are seeking a flexible, reliable, and enthusiastic Support Worker to deliver services for Young Carers aged 5–16. The role involves three key parts. The first is delivering engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote wellbeing, reduce isolation, and give Young Carers a break from their responsibilities. The second is providing one-to-one support to help Young Carers manage challenges, access services, and prioritise their mental and emotional wellbeing. The third is leading outreach with schools, colleges, community settings and professionals to identify and engage hidden Young Carers. 

About The Role: 

You will work across two key age groups, 5–11 and 12–16, delivering and supervising activities, supporting events and trips, and providing behavioural management where needed. Alongside group activities, you will offer one-to-one support to individual Young Carers, ensuring they feel heard, included, and supported as they navigate the challenges of their caring roles. You will also deliver awareness training sessions, run stalls, and build partnerships in the community to identify and engage Young Carers. 

This is a part-time post (3 days per week). Flexibility is required, with regular evening and occasional weekend work.

About the Role

The Refugee and Migrant Centre is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Family Support Worker to join our Resettlement Department. As part of our mission to assist refugees and migrants in overcoming barriers to integration, this role will play a key part in helping newly arrived refugees settle into their new communities with confidence and independence.

RMC is a well-established charity with over 25 years of experience working with vulnerable refugees and migrants. We provide a range of services, including immigration advice, housing support, welfare assistance, and employment guidance. Our work ensures that refugees and migrants receive the necessary support to become equal citizens in the UK.

Purpose of the Role

The Family Support Worker will support newly arrived refugees and their families, enabling them to navigate the complex challenges of settling into the UK. Working closely with our multi-skilled resettlement team, you will deliver holistic support to refugees across a range of services, including welfare benefits, housing, health, education, and employment. You will also play a key role in empowering families to build their confidence, independence, and long-term integration into the community.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Client Support & Case Management:

• Manage a caseload of newly arrived refugee families, providing tailored support to meet their specific needs.
• Conduct home visits and orientation sessions to welcome clients to their new community and complete holistic needs assessments.
• Develop Personal Integration Plans for each household on a quarterly basis, helping them set goals for long-term independence.
• Coordinate support with external agencies and specialists to address clients’ needs, ensuring seamless service delivery.
• Support families with housing, welfare benefits, education, healthcare, and employment.
• Assist with registration for healthcare services (GPs, dentists, opticians) and support with medical assessments.
• Facilitate access to education for children and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) classes for adults.
• Provide guidance on immigration matters and ensure the correct paperwork is in place, including registering for Biometric Residence Cards and supporting welfare benefit applications.
• Ensure clients are financially supported by applying for relevant welfare benefits and assisting with mandatory reconsiderations as required.

Integration & Independence:

• Help clients develop the skills and knowledge to achieve independence, focusing on self-sufficiency and integration into the local community.
• Support families in securing suitable accommodation, liaising with landlords, housing providers, and relevant stakeholders.
• Provide ongoing orientation on UK systems, including financial rights and responsibilities, social services, and community resources.
• Encourage social integration by organising outings and community events to foster connections with local services and other refugees.

Partnership Working & Community Engagement:

• Work closely with a range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure that refugees have access to the services and support they need.
• Act as the lead contact for other agencies involved in supporting your clients, ensuring a collaborative approach to case management.
• Promote the long-term integration of refugees by identifying and facilitating opportunities for engagement with mainstream services.

Administrative & Reporting Duties:

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client interactions and case progress, ensuring compliance with organisational policies.
• Provide written reports and case updates as required by the Resettlement Coordinator and Manager.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of services based on monitoring and evaluation feedback.

General Responsibilities:

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with refugees, stakeholders, and service providers.

Desirable:

• Full UK driving licence and access to a car.

About the role

We are seeking a Substance Misuse Worker who has a specialism in mental health and substance use to join our team in Catford. You will be based within a 24 hour service which provides enhanced rehabilitation support to adults who have been diagnosed with severe and enduring mental health, who would benefit from an intensive rehabilitation and recovery-focused approach. Within this role, you will provide specialist knowledge and experience to support the wider team and residents to help them to overcome their personal barriers.

You will deliver evidence-based interventions based on holistic assessments to support personalised recovery, integration, and promotion of independent living skills. You will be a specialist in comorbidity, supporting the team to achieve positive outcomes for our residents. Some of your duties will include:

• Undertake joint holistic assessments, risk assessments, care plans, and interventions to support harm reduction and minimisation.
• Set up realistic and flexible strengths-based support plans, working closely with colleagues and support teams to support and advise on interventions and approaches to meet individual needs.
• Help reduce episodes of crisis and assist residents/participants to access services which can offer alternatives to crisis support.
• Work closely with support staff and clinical teams to support and advise them on interventions and approaches to meet resident/participant comorbid, complex mental health and substance misuse needs.
• Support multi-disciplinary teams and the wider community teams with support, advice, signposting, and move on care planning. 

About you

We are looking for someone who has specialist knowledge on how to support individuals with comorbid and complex needs, with experience in interventions, and in a similar role. Qualifications are desirable if paired with practical experience which is relevant to this role. We look at individual characteristics with the ability to engage with various people who may not want to receive the support, able to build trusting professional relationships, and able to demonstrate resilience, solve challenges, and be proactive. We now have an exciting opportunity for a Therapy Assistant to join our multi-disciplinary team (MDT) of colleagues to support a young person and their family for 22.5 hours per week virtually, at their home and in the community.    

About the person:

• A smart, kind, gentle 11 year old girl who lives at home with her mum and cat. 
• Currently not accessing a school but has a team of supporters supporting an Education Other Than School Package. 
• School and education have been very tricky in the past and so it’s important to build up confidence and wellbeing and take time to recover and make connections. 
• This person loves Taylor Swift, Melaine Martinez and K-Pop. Animals are very important to this person, especially their cat and dogs are a favourite too!
• This person is very skilled at video editing and technology. 
• Current activities which are enjoyable are; shopping, crafts, lots of play, listening to music, gaming, making/watching videos, skateboarding and spending time with animals. 
• This person is autistic and has ADHD. She has a positive self-identify around these diagnoses and celebrates being neurodivergent and being part of the neurodivergent community. 
• This person has additional anxiety disorders that make her distressed by demands or feeling forced to do things, and this anxiety can lead to her not being able to communicate when she wants and needs to.

Under the direction from an advisory teacher with the input from the Psychology, speech and language therapy and occupational therapy teams you will develop programmes of activity and provide these according to the young person's needs under the guidance of the team professionals. 

You will provide advice, support and coaching for the young person and their family, under the guidance of the Therapy and Specialist Support (TSS) professionals. In addition you will attend meetings including MDT as required contributing to the young person's risk assessment and management plans ensuring that the young person is involved in their support planning wherever possible to facilitate their meaningful involvement in their progress.

• You have experience of supporting therapy programmes (as an assistant or other relevant role).
• You have experience of Continuing Professional Development.
• You have experience of working in specialist education.
• You have the ability to relate well to parents and carers.
• You are funny, energetic and have similar interests to this person.
• You like to be active and keep fit as a lot of the activities we do include running, jumping and climbing.

The Newham Mental Health Team, based at Flying Angel, operates weekdays from 9am to 5pm, offering support to individuals with low to medium mental health needs both in the building and the community. They work with other professionals to help those with complex needs, aiming to create a safe and supportive environment tailored to each person's unique circumstances and aspirations.

As part of this team, Support Workers assist customers with complex mental health issues, including those with histories of substance use, trauma, non-engagement, criminal justice connections, and personality disorders. About You

As the successful candidate, you will hold a professional qualification in Health, Social Care, Psychology, Youth or Community Care, such as NVQ Level 3 or above, or a Diploma in Mental Health Nursing, Counselling, Addiction Studies, Advice, and Guidance. Alternatively, you will have demonstrable experience of working with vulnerable individuals affected by addiction harm and/or complex needs.

About this key role

A key member of the St Giles Yorkshire team, as well as our Central SOS+ team, you’ll be responsible for developing and delivering 1-2-1 educational sessions to children and young people on topics such as grooming, weapons awareness, the reality of prison, gangs, county lines and child sexual exploitation. You’ll also need to work closely with partner agencies and attend multi-agency meetings and support the design and development of new sessions and materials. All the while, you’ll be supported by a Peer Advisor with lived experience of adverse experiences linked to exploitation, county lines or prison. 

What we are looking for

• Experience of engaging with challenging children and young people, e.g., those with complex needs, who are reluctant to discuss their needs or who are angry and confused
• A track record gained working with socially excluded children, young people and adults, including delivering/facilitating sessions to groups – especially socially excluded children and young people in schools or similar settings
• Knowledge of gangs, knife crime and patterns of offending in West Yorkshire or a similar area, plus a proven ability to negotiate and network with partner agencies to establish links to further the aims of a project
• An Education and Training and/or Mentoring Level 3 qualification, or similar, or a willingness to work towards this
• A flexible and collaborative approach, a positive attitude, emotional resilience, confidence when speaking in front of a group and a flair for planning sessions using a variety of resources
