Job description

The postholder will be expected to provide energy advice to householders by telephone and email. Delivering key information to help householders/clients to access appropriate support. Whilst maintaining accurate and detailed records of all interactions with clients.

Pay and conditions

The role is full-time (37.5 hours per week). However, we will consider applications from a minimum of 22.5hrs per week.

The salary for the role will be £25,750. Rising to £26,739 after passing 6-month probationary period.

You will be entitled to 25 days paid holiday (plus statutory holidays).

Specific responsibilities

An applicant appointed to the role will be expected to:

• To work on the advice line and/or other telephone advice projects making and receiving calls from people who may need help with energy related issues.
• To record client details and use own knowledge to assess help and support needed.
• To refer clients onto other support organisations in their area as appropriate.
• To identify energy improvements that can be made to clients’ properties and refer to installers who can fit them.
• To help vulnerable clients make applications for grants and switch energy tariffs where appropriate.
• To listen attentively to callers (some of whom may be in distress) and respond to their needs in an empathetic way.
• To be familiar with and adhere to advice line protocol, processes and procedures.

Through making social media posts, creating engaging content or writing stories, you’ll play an integral role in communicating our impact and stories to our key audiences.

At Horatio’s Garden, we build and look after extraordinary gardens in the heart of NHS spinal injury centres. These gardens are a critical part of rehabilitation and offer reflection and adjustment, privacy and solace, joy and companionship to all who need it. We lead regular gardening sessions to grow and cultivate plants, arts workshops to offer new skills and a programme of live music and events. Designed to be enjoyed all year round, these gardens offer a warm, welcoming place for family and friends who may have travelled hours for a visit.

Our vision is for everyone with a spinal injury to have a Horatio’s Garden as part of their rehabilitation care.

The charity is growing. We have eight garden projects open and are fundraising for our ninth garden in Middlesbrough.

This role will assist with the content creation of engaging written, film and visual content across different platforms, scheduling and moderating our social channels, and helping us report on our digital activity. You will support the rollout of the new regional social media channels for each garden to help place storytelling and impact at the heart of our communications.

It would suit someone looking to start or build their career in the communications field or charity sector to develop experience in developing content, writing and charity campaigning. There will be opportunities for training and development and you will travel between the charity’s UK-wide gardens and meet patients, volunteers and staff.

This is a full-time role (37.5 hours a week) based in the charity’s office in Salisbury with the ability to discuss some flexible working after the six month probation period.

You will be reporting to the Communications Manager.

Main duties

1. Help manage the day-to-day running of the charity’s social media (Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook). Schedule content and respond to comments and messages to foster positive engagement and add value to the supporter experience

2. Work closely with the team to produce subscriber, campaign-led and post-event newsletter content and manage the subscriber database

3. Contribute to the charity’s content calendar and work creatively and collaboratively with the communications and wider charity team to proactively seek and develop story ideas

4. Create engaging content in support of charity objectives and reflecting our brand and tone guidelines

5. Assist with internal communications to convey key updates to staff

6. Assist in maintaining and updating Horatio’s Garden’s main website

7. Help to manage the charity’s digital assets, ensuring the team have access to the most impactful photographs and videos for their needs

8. Collate, analyse and present monthly reports on social media, newsletter and website activity and engagement against key performance metrics

9. Assist with planning and promotion of campaigns and track press activity

10. Keep up to date with the latest digital marketing trends and technologies

General duties 

1. Support the wider team with administrative duties that support the smooth running of the charity

About the Role

As a Caseworker, you will provide structured, tailored support plans based on holistic assessments for individuals affected by crime. You will make initial contact with victims via the telephone, then tailor the support to the Victims preferences i.e. home visits or via conference calls, to explain our services, and assess the impact of crime. Your responsibilities will include developing, delivering, and monitoring safety and support plans, providing resources, interventions, and information to service users.

As a Caseworker you will:

• Manage a caseload of self-referred & referred service users, providing information & advocacy to help them navigate the criminal justice process.
• Conduct risk & needs assessments, ensuring each victim receives tailored support & information.
• Identify barriers to accessing services & work with partners to provide ongoing support.
• Keep accurate & confidential case records.

About You

You will have an understanding of the impact of crime on victims & experience in delivering services within a statutory, voluntary, or multi-agency setting. Experience in managing a caseload and of completing risk & needs assessments would be beneficial.

You will need:

• Strong written & verbal communication skills.
• Competent IT skills, able to use generic systems.
• Good organisational & time management skills, able to manage competing needs and priorities.

The post holder will be supporting the Project Coordinator to deliver the My Health Matters project in Salford. You will facilitate the delivery of the Homeless Health Peer Advocacy by coordinating a team of lived experience peer advocates to deliver 1-2-1 advocacy style support to those experiencing homelessness in Salford. You will help to recruit and train volunteers and support them with their progression goals. The role includes case management of My Health Matters clients including managing referrals, quality assuring support work and coordinating the project’s drop-in network. The post will be based in our office at Swan St but will require travel across Greater Manchester with special focus in and around the Salford area. In addition, occasional travel to other cities including possible overnights may be required.

My Health Matters is a peer-led health inclusion project that works towards an inclusive health system where everyone has access to the health care they need, supporting people experiencing homelessness to address physical and mental health issues through the delivery of a Homeless Health Peer Advocacy service. About The Role

Are you passionate about building public understanding and speaking up for nature?

Do you have the skills and creativity to help us increase people’s understanding of the superpowers of wetlands and bring to life stories about the amazing wildlife they support?

From restoring nature and providing homes for wildlife to protecting communities from the devastating impact of flooding, wetlands are a powerful weapon in the fight against the climate crisis. And we’re looking for an experienced Communications Officer to deliver creative communications that help inspire 1 million people to take action to protect, restore and create bigger, better, more connected wetlands.

This role will work across communications disciplines, flexing to support the team’s priorities. There will be a particular focus on dealing with reactive media enquiries through the WWT press office and identifying proactive and opportunistic PR coverage for WWT and wetlands. This will include producing press releases and pitches to secure coverage in a range of on- and offline media, and working closely with journalists and producers to create opportunities to promote WWT and its work. About the role:

We are looking for an Independent Domestic Violence Advocate (IDVA). This is a full time role on fixed term contract. Hybrid working would be available for this role. The aim of this role is to support victims of domestic abuse who live in Central Bedfordshire. This role will be part of our other wider specialist services covering Bedfordshire.

As an IDVA you will be:

• Providing a high quality support and advocacy service to victims of domestic abuse.
• Managing a caseload; identifying and assessing risks and needs, providing a tailored crisis intervention service trough individual safety planning, advocacy, emotional and practical support.
• Working with other agencies and advocating on behalf of service users in order to help them access services to keep them safe.
• Working within a multi-agency framework consisting of partners as well as MARAC and other local partnerships to offer a coordinated response to domestic abuse.
• Promoting the service and raise awareness of domestic abuse through the delivery of training
• Supporting the Daily Domestic Abuse meeting in the IFD (Integrated Front Door), which discusses all medium/standard risk referrals that have come in over the previous 24 hours and agrees on the most appropriate source of advice and support for the family.
• Attending the BRiF meetings weekly where community partners bring concerns about family's they are working with including concerns about standard/medium domestic abuse.
• Professional point of contact for the IFD and Adult Safeguarding teams (also based at Priory House).
• Point of contact for any concerns staff have about their own relationships and dynamics of domestic abuse they need support with

You will need:

• Experience of working in support and advocacy with victims of domestic abuse is advantageous
• To be able to prioritise work and deal with competing or conflicting demands/needs and interests and promote organisation interests and values.
• To ideally hold a SafeLives IDVA accreditation, relevant degree, vocational qualification or relevant experience of delivering a service and working with domestic abuse victim's/service users in a statutory, voluntary or community work setting.

What you’ll do

You’ll provide confidential support and information to individuals experiencing domestic abuse or forced marriage, as well as their families, friends, colleagues, and professionals supporting them. Responding by phone, email, web chat, and text, you’ll assess needs and risks, helping them plan for their safety and connecting them to appropriate services and resources. You’ll also record information about the contacts you handle using our digital systems.

Daytime shifts can be especially busy on the helpline. You’ll need to stay calm and empathetic while working in a fast-paced environment, and be ready to handle difficult and sometimes distressing situations. About the role:

This role is based at our National Contact Centre in Cardiff.

As a Triage & Early Interventions Officer you will: -

• Act as the first point of contact for clients referred in to the service, ensuring that comprehensive impact and risks assessments are completed and a tailored response to each client's needs is provided.
• Carry a caseload of clients who require more immediate and short term interventions, referring on those with more long term needs either internally or externally. Churches Conservation Trust (CCT) is the national charity caring for historic churches at risk. As the operator of the third largest heritage estate in charitable ownership in the UK, our 356 historic churches include examples of irreplaceable architecture, archaeology and art from 1,000 years of English history.

Refugee resettlement takes place across Derbyshire and Lincolnshire. Over the past 7 years, Upbeat Communities has welcomed and played a key part in the resettlement of Syrian refugees in partnership with local authorities in both counties.
