Community Project Lead 

• Two-year fixed term, full-time (35 hours per week) or part-time (minimum 21 hours per week considered), £28,000 – £32,000 per annum depending on experience (pro rata if part-time)

IPSEA is the leading charity in the field of SEND law in England, and we provide free and independent legal advice and support to families of children and young people with SEND. We also provide training on the SEND legal framework, and we influence policy at both a local and national level.

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Community Project Lead to join our team and lead the development of our advice services for under-served communities. This two-year, fixed-term role is a key part of our strategy to reach groups who may not traditionally engage with IPSEA’s support - including children and families with English as an additional language, cared-for children (children in care), migrant children, detained children, and Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities.

The project builds on a detailed scoping exercise we’ve recently completed, which involved working closely with a wide range of charities and organisations that support these communities. The resulting report outlines the barriers they face, and will form the foundation for this project and directly inform the work you will lead.

What you’ll do 

• Design and develop pilot advice services that are tailored to the needs of under-served communities, using findings from IPSEA’s research 

• Build and maintain strong relationships with community groups, charities and service providers to co-produce accessible services 

• Collaborate with IPSEA’s advice, legal and policy teams to address the barriers these communities face in accessing SEND legal advice 

• Contribute to and share outreach materials, training resources and toolkits to support families of under-served communities and empower local advocates 

• Plan and lead workshops, focus groups and community events to raise awareness, gather feedback and enhance service delivery 

• Monitor and report on project outcomes and impact, providing regular updates to IPSEA staff and stakeholders

The Degrees Initiative is a UK-based NGO that builds the capacity of developing countries to evaluate solar radiation modification (SRM), a controversial proposal for reducing some impacts of climate change by reflecting sunlight away from the Earth. Degrees is neutral on whether SRM should ever be used, but we believe that developing countries should be empowered to conduct their own research and to play a central role in SRM discussions.

This is a unique opportunity to shape global conversations on climate science by empowering researchers in developing countries to publish and communicate their work, collaborating with some of the world’s leading SRM experts. 

The Scientific Writing and Publishing Lead will play a key role in supporting researchers in the Global South to communicate their findings effectively and contribute to the global SRM conversation. Working within the Programmes team, reporting to the Programmes Director, and in cooperation with the Communications team, the Scientific Writer will collaborate closely with research teams and external partners. Responsibilities will include: 

1. Support researchers with scientific writing and publishing

• Develop guidance materials on topics such as structuring research papers, writing abstracts, and best practices for peer-reviewed publication. 

• Train and support researchers to develop, refine, and publish scientific manuscripts through one-on-one and group training sessions and technical editing and feedback. 

• In collaboration with the Staff Scientist, help build climate researchers’ capacity to prepare and communicate their findings to different audiences. 

• Advise research teams on scientific publishing norms, including peer review, and open-access publishing.

• Support researchers in choosing appropriate journals and navigating the submission and review process.
• Assist researchers in adapting their work for public and policy-facing communication channels, ensuring clarity and accessibility.

2. Lead and coordinate reports and publications

• Serve as the lead coordinator for a recurring international scientific report, overseeing contributions from multiple researchers and ensuring deadlines are met. 

• Act as a writer for key sections of the report, synthesising insights from researchers into a compelling and scientifically rigorous narrative. 
• Work closely with stakeholders and coordinate peer review and fact-checking to ensure the report’s accuracy, consistency, and accessibility.

3. Support Degrees’ scientific communication and outreach

• Collaborate with the communications team to ensure that external materials such as blog posts, website content, policy briefs and media articles are scientifically accurate and up to date. 

• Work with the policy engagement teams to develop scientific summaries and briefings for a range of stakeholders. 

• Keep Degrees staff and researchers abreast of new techniques for communicating research results to a range of stakeholders and training them how to use them. 
• Ensure that information from our funded research teams is shared with the communications teams. 
• Work closely with Degrees’ Staff Scientist and provide support when required.

4. Manage projects 

• Manage multiple writing and editorial projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met. 

• Work closely with programme officers, researchers, and external partners to coordinate content development and align with strategic goals. 

• Working closely with the Staff Scientist in helping them to maintain an organised archive of scientific publications, reports, and communication materials for internal and external use.

This is an opportunity to join Refuge as a Housing Support Worker to provide high quality practical and emotional support to survivors of domestic abuse and their children living in our dispersed refuge accommodation in Warwickshire.

You will be forming a team that makes up the Warwickshire Dispersed Safe Accommodation service. This service will provide emergency safe accommodation across Warwickshire with high-quality domestic abuse support, ‘by-and-for’ services for survivors of domestic abuse and their children.

Housing Support Workers will work closely with the Floating Support Workers and Child Support Workers (who provide the personal support to survivors of domestic abuse and their children) to ensure that the emergency accommodation and support meets the whole range of survivors’ needs.

The post holder will be responsible for the Health and Safety and maintenance of emergency safe accommodation units in multiple 1–3-bedroom properties across Warwickshire. This will include the practical set up and maintenance of home furnishings and utilities in each property and the management of the cleaning and replacements required between each use of the accommodation unit.

The post holder will provide support to survivors fleeing domestic abuse around accessing housing benefit for the dispersed accommodation and support survivors with exploring and accessing move on accommodation.

The Housing Support Worker (HSW) will be responsible for ensuring that the properties will maintain Refuge’s accommodation standards and comply with all Health and Safety legislation and requirements

Housing Support Workers will work in partnership with both statutory and voluntary sector partners to ensure that the properties are managed to a high standard and ensure a welcoming approach to all survivors and their children.

As part of this role, you will be required to participate in an out-of-hours on call rota.

A mission-driven and impact focused single programme NGO is seeking an Interim Finance Director for a 1 year maternity cover contract. The role is fully remote (from within the UK) and is full-time (5 days per week) for a 12 month contract. There may be the requirement to travel to Ghana on occasion throughout the 12 months. The organisation’s mission is to get 3-6 year old children in rural Africa to thrive.  They have developed an award-winning Early Childhood Development programme, proven its impact through rigorous evaluation, and scaled it with governments in both Ghana and Uganda. It is currently reaching over 300,000 children per year, and we aim to reach 1 million children per year by 2028. The programme benefits both preschool age children and unlocks the potential of marginalised rural parents.

With around 100 staff globally, the interim Finance Director will manage a diverse team of finance professionals. Your role will include setting and managing budgets, supporting fundraising strategy and proposals, overseeing spend and financial controls and processes.  You will lead the finance team in Ghana made up of a Junior Finance Manager, four Finance Officers, two bookkeepers and a Procurement and Logistics Officer.  You will also manage the Uganda Finance Officer, and Global Finance Manager based in the UK.

The role will involve a mixture of hands-on accounting, complex donor reporting, consolidated and year-end accounts, budgeting, forecasting, scenario planning and financial modelling. Xero is used across the organisation, and financial year-end is December.

Duties include:

· Contribute to the development and implementation of the organisation’s scale and income-generation strategy, including exciting new opportunities for potential expansion to the southern regions in Ghana and exploring implementation of the programme in a new country.

· Develop and strengthen robust and flexible cost models (including sensitivity analyses/stress testing) to guide decisions around the pace and rate of scale, staffing & resource requirements, ensure value for money and maximise cost efficiencies.

· Develop robust budgets for new and renewal funder applications, considering complexities around funder restrictions, currency exchange and forecast economic conditions.

· Ensure that the organisation-wide financial systems, policies, procedures and internal controls and audits are robust, compliant and best practice to support current activities and future growth.

· Be pro-active in identifying ways to improve efficiencies and strengthen financial rigour, including leading on internal projects to enhance systems and processes to automate approvals and develop cost recovery models as we look to expand our operations outside Ghana and Uganda.

Create the budgets, financial information, documentation and materials for funding proposals.

· Oversee the creation of all financial reports for funders, ensuring mechanisms to track and report against restricted income are robust, and preparing financial analyses for funder

· Provide monthly and quarterly management accounts for trustees summarising current and forecast financial position for the year, cashflow analysis and KPI reporting.

· Attend trustee meetings, present information to the Board and liaise with Board members, including leading the quarterly Finance and Audit Committee meetings.

· Ensure that the Statutory Accounts for all entities are prepared, including internal information is collated and provided, external auditors are instructed and deliver to standard.

· Ensure all organisations are compliant with tax, regularity and legal requirements (e.g payroll, tax, NGO registration, insurance, registrations with regulatory authorities)

· Actively manage the performance and build the capacity of direct reports through training, coaching, holding 1to1s, setting performance goals, appraisals, developing new policies and practices.

Requirements: 

-Fully-qualified ACCA, CIMA, ACA essential

-Prior experience working as Head of Finance or Finance Director in an international development charity (NGO)

-Prior experience managing a global team

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and thoughtful communicator to lead our communications and advocacy work during a period of maternity cover. 

At Martin James Foundation, we work alongside a network of committed partners who lead change for children and families in their contexts. Our role is to contribute where we can, granting funds, sharing learning, supporting campaigns, influencing systems and amplifying the good work already happening. You’ll lead on implementing our communications and advocacy strategy, manage key partnerships, and strengthen our presence across digital platforms. You’ll also support internal communications projects.

This role is central to how we tell our story, build meaningful collaboration, influence change and ensure the voices of those with lived experience are prioritised, listened to and able to lead change.

· Key Assets – a group of independent, non-profit fostering agencies operating in Australia, Canada and New Zealand. With over 30 years’ experience, they provide foster care, family strengthening, and support for people with disabilities. The Need

Millions of children are separated from their families, not because they have no one to care for them, but because of poverty, crisis, or a lack of support. Many end up in orphanages, yet removing a child from a struggling family does not solve poverty. It can deepen harm, sever vital family bonds, and leave children more vulnerable to instability, trafficking, and lifelong inequality. Our mission is to reduce the reliance on institutional care by supporting proven alternatives and advocating for systemic change.

What You’ll Do

 Advocacy & Policy Influence

• Lead the delivery of advocacy strategies to raise awareness about the benefits of family-based care and the harms of institutions, including orphanages
• Manage MJF Global’s advocacy partnerships, supporting joint campaigns and influencing initiatives
• Oversee project-based public affairs and PR efforts, coordinating with agencies, consultants and media stakeholders where needed
• Represent MJF Global in key coalitions, working groups, and sector events as required
• Strategic communications

Implement the communications strategy that aligns with our organisational goals

• Manage our editorial calendar across digital and offline channels, highlighting awareness days, partner updates and sector milestones
• Write and curate content for social media, newsletters, campaigns, and reports
• Oversee relationships with our design and web partners, ensuring consistency and quality

Stakeholder Engagement & Partnerships

• Support MJF’s global marketing working group by co-coordinating with marketing leads across Key Assets
• Strengthen relationships with internal teams and external collaborators, ensuring alignment on messaging and values
• Provide guidance to global partners, as requested/required, developing and implementing their own communications plans

Operational Comms & Tools

• Manage CRM platforms (e.g., MailChimp), website updates (WordPress), and file sharing (SharePoint and Google Drive)
• Use project management tools to track campaign and content workflows
• Lead quarterly reporting on communications and advocacy performance

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking someone who is not only an excellent communicator but also a values-led leader, someone who can work with sensitivity across contexts and cultures, while keeping an eye on strategy and detail.

Essential

• An enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) or your country equivalent certificate (can be obtained upon appointment)
• Experience leading and implementing communications and/or advocacy strategies in the charity, NGO, or development sectors
• Strong understanding of care reform, family strengthening, or children’s rights issues
• Ability to manage relationships and partnerships, particularly in advocacy, policy or public affairs work
• Excellent communication skills across formats including written, verbal and visual. Fluency in English is required.
• A collaborative, curious and proactive mindset, with the ability to work independently and across cultures
• Commitment to equity, anti-racism, and decolonising approaches in communication and advocacy

Desirable

• Experience working in or with organisations in the Global South
• Familiarity with digital tools like Canva, WordPress, MailChimp, or Adobe Suite
• Experience in journalism, media relations, or public policy advocacy
• Confidence using communications to support locally led, ethical storytelling and systems change

Introduction to the Role

We are looking for a Research and Policy Officer (Maternity Cover) to join our expanding Policy and Research department, which also oversees the TDS Charitable Foundation. This is a pivotal role supporting our mission to improve standards in the private rented sector through impactful research, thought leadership, and policy engagement.
The successful candidate will play a key part in delivering our research programme, including overseeing flagship projects like the Voice of the Tenant and Voice of the Landlord surveys, and producing high-quality qualitative and quantitative research.

You will also support the smooth running of the Charitable Foundation’s grant-making and governance activities and contribute to our work influencing policy and practice across the UK’s private rented sector.
This is a great opportunity for someone passionate about housing, with a solid grounding in research and an interest in policy, to join a values-driven organisation delivering real-world impact.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Research
1. Collaborate with external research contractors to deliver the regular ‘Voice of the Tenant’ and ‘Voice of the Landlord’ Survey.
2. Ensure the research findings are widely disseminated through different channels, including events, publications, briefings and digital content.
3. Help identify research gaps and contribute to the development execution of new research projects or commissioning of external research.
4. Conduct proactive desk-based research to identify emerging trends, new policy developments, and partnership opportunities relevant to the Foundation and the sector.
5. Undertake in-house research activities, such as literature reviews, focus groups, stakeholder interviews, where required.
6. Contribute to the drafting and production of high-quality research reports and briefings, ensuring clarity, accessibility, and relevance for policy and practice audiences.

Policy
7. Monitor and analyse relevant legislative and regulatory developments, consultations, and debates, identifying implications for the sector and TDS’s work.
8. Support the development of TDS’s policy positions by preparing briefings, drafting responses to consultations, and summarising evidence from research.
9. Help communicate TDS’s policy insights and positions clearly and effectively to internal stakeholders, partners, and decision-makers.

Charity co-ordination
10. Act as a key point of contact for grant-funded projects, supporting projects to share progress and impact, and identify any support needs.
11. Help to Coordinate the TDS Charitable Foundation’s quarterly Board of Trustee meetings, including preparing board papers, taking minutes, and following up on actions.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential characteristics

1. Qualifications and experience
Essential:

• Educated to degree level in a relevant subject.
• At least 3 years’ experience in research, social policy or similar role (or equivalent post-graduate study).
• Knowledge of research design
• Proven track record of producing content to communicate to different audiences.
• Experience of building relationships with external stakeholders.

Desirable:

• Knowledge of the housing sector or charitable work.

Parkinson’s UK is seeking a Clinical Lead for Therapy for the Parkinson’s UK Excellence Network national Clinical Leadership Team

We’re recruiting a Parkinson’s specialist therapist to join the Network’s national Clinical Leadership Team on a consultancy basis. The Clinical Leadership Team provides strategic guidance and clinical expertise to Parkinson’s UK and the members of the team are ambassadors for the Excellence Network.

You would be joining a group of experts from different backgrounds: doctors, specialist nurses, and members of the Parkinson’s community, all actively working towards the vision of high quality multidisciplinary care for everyone with Parkinson's.

Who can apply?

Any experienced UK-based Parkinson’s specialist therapist, with exceptional interpersonal and influencing skills.

You’ll have a good understanding of the landscape of health and social care delivery, education and workforce development to support the strategic aims and objectives of Parkinson’s UK.

Time commitment: 0.5 days per week (1 programmed activity) to be worked flexibly across the month.

Remuneration: monthly rate based on skills and experience.
