Summary

WE ARE LOOKING FOR ASSISTANT CASE OFFICER TO WORK WITHIN OUR MISSION AND PASTORAL SERVICES TEAM

The Church Commissioners have the governance and management responsibility for the Mission and Pastoral Measure 2011, which provides a regulatory framework which enables the Church to support the provision of local worship, mission and ministry, and to adapt that provision as circumstances change over time. The Measures provides a decision-making process for changes relating to pastoral change, ministry provision change and church building change. The Commissioners also deal with processes under the Church Property Measure 2018 and the Church Commissioners' Chancel Repair Liability Measure.

The purpose of the role is to oversee and manage the decision making processes and provide advice under the Mission and Pastoral Measure 2011 (MPM), the Church Property Measure 2018 (CPM), and related legislation (including the Patronage (Benefices) Measure 1986 and the Church Representation Rules, and responsibilities relating to chancel repair liability (CRL). A major part of the team's role is to support the transition from the existing MPM, to a new Measure, and the related transition programme which will be rolled out to dioceses and parishes over between 2024 to 2027.

The Assistant CO post will work with mainly with the M&PS case officers to decision making and case work under the requirements of the legislation set out above. They will also work closely with the team managers to plan and manage the casework load and support the decision making processes of the Mission, Pastoral and Church Property Committee.

Main Responsibilities

• Conduct research into a range of technical and legal matters, including verifying the legal names of parishes and benefices, patronage details, and responding to related queries.

• Draft and publish Mission and Pastoral Measure (MPM) schemes for consultation, ensuring accuracy and clarity throughout the process.

• Support Case Officers in presenting MPM or Church Property Measure (CPM) decisions to the Mission, Pastoral and Church Property Committee, and assist with any subsequent appeals.

• Assist the M&PS Operations Manager in planning committee visits, public hearings, and other operational tasks associated with committee meetings.

• Contribute to the planning and monitoring of casework and performance reporting, working closely with the M&PS Operations Manager.

• Coordinate and manage internal and external meeting processes related to the above functions, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.

• Provide administrative support for the implementation of the new Mission and Pastoral Measure and the Measure concerning Chancel Repair Liability.

• Offer support in record management and data governance, including preparing briefings and information for performance and risk management purposes using dedicated data systems.

• Help the M&PS Operations Manager with planning and coordinating team activities such as monthly meetings, away days, and special events.

• Assist with communications activities, including the distribution of regular e-newsletters to diocesan teams.

• Support the coordination and promotion of the diocesan training programme.

• Assist with financial processes related to departmental expenditure, ensuring compliance and accuracy.

• Contribute to audit and risk management processes, maintaining high standards of accountability.

• Provide briefings and information to support internal NCI processes, including responses to General Synod or Parliamentary questions, and preparing materials for the Board of Governors and senior officers.

• Deliver general administrative support to the M&PS team, including handling post and printing tasks.

• Undertake any required specialist or generalist training to support the role effectively.

• A salary of £40,572, plus age-related pension contributions between 8-15% of salary. We will also match any pension contributions you make up to an additional 3% of your salary.

The Digital Officer will support the Communications team in creating innovative and engaging content and posting to social media channels to tell the story of ParalympicsGB and its athletes. The role will work closely with sports and athletes to facilitate filming opportunities and will assist in the delivery of branded content for commercial partners and key stakeholders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Content creation

Develop and oversee production of content in our brand identity including video, graphics and photography for ParalympicsGB social media channels (TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube).

Plan, shoot, edit, and publish high-quality, platform-specific vertical videos tailored to maximise organic reach and engagement with ParalympicsGB’s priority audiences: Young People, Disabled Community and Potential Allies.

Will also be required to support wider ParalympicsGB staff teams with the production of content for internal use on occasion.

Social Media Management

Assist the Digital Producer with the management of ParalympicsGB social media channels and when needed helping to post and schedule content in our tone of voice.

Contribute to monitoring social media channels for real-time trends and content opportunities to shape the team's narrative and engage with priority audience groups. 

Keeping up to date and aware of the latest news from sports and athletes.

Branded content

Work closely with the commercial team to align partner content with broader campaigns and ParalympicsGB’s content strategy.

 Website

Contributing to ParalympicsGB digital channels including copywriting, image and video editing including athlete biographies and sport information. Research of athlete personalities and interests to populate future content plans.

 CRM

Keeping an up-to-date record on the ParalympicsGB CRM system of athlete content appearances and all relevant information.

 Games-time

Working on location at the heart of the Paralympic Games as part of the communications team to support athletes, team members and media with the delivery of key communications objectives. Will support Content Producer with capturing engaging Games-time content for ParalympicsGB channels.

Job Title: Online Engagement and Inclusion Lead (Young People’s Services)

Purpose

This role leads the coordination of Kids’ online engagement and digital inclusion work for young people with SEND, including information provision, participation, and wellbeing support. You will deliver a two-year Online Wellbeing and Resilience Support Programme, including identifying and engaging digitally excluded young people to help them access vital digital tools and services. The role also drives collaboration across the Digital Services Consortium (a collaboration of 12 children’s charities), embedding shared learning, outcome measurement, and inclusive digital practices across Kids, and will create new capacity to work with young people to scope and deploy online campaigning activity.  

Responsibilities

• To lead and coordinate Kids’ online engagement and inclusion work for young people with SEND. This includes Kids’ online information provision; voice/ participation and wellbeing work.
• To develop and deliver Kids’ two-year digital inclusion programme, Online Wellbeing and Resilience Support Programme* to ensure reach and impact is maximised.
• To work with the Digital Services Consortium Driving Digital Inclusion members on shared digital project outcome measures and community of practice, ensuring learnings and online engagement and digital inclusion principles are captured, shared and built into the organisation.
• To identify and recruit (working closely with colleagues from services across Kids) digitally excluded young people to the digital inclusion programme so they can become digitally included and access much needed support and guidance.

*About the funded programme

Kids Online Wellbeing and Resilience Support Programme will help young people with SEND (aged 13 – 25 years) build resilience, positive self-regard and meaningful connections.

Our goal is to reduce isolation and protect mental health through a supportive, inclusive digital environment. We’ll begin by consulting directly with young people to understand what they need most. Together, we’ll co-create new online content and resources that truly reflect their voices and experiences. 

 What the Programme Offers: 

• Online information with resources codesigned with young people with SEND. 

• A series of interactive webinars and guided online activities. 

• Free devices and data to improve access to those who need it most, plus the support to ensure everyone can participate.

We will reach over 1,800 young people over the two year funded period.

Partner Acknowledgements

Thanks to National Lottery players, the Digital Services Consortium (DSC) has received over £1.5 million over two years from The National Lottery Community Fund, the largest community funder in the UK. The DSC has also received a grant of £400,000 from BBC Children in Need for two years to provide digital support for disabled or seriously ill children and young people and their family members across the UK. Virgin Media O2 and Vodafone have generously donated devices and data through the Good Things Foundation National Databank and Device Bank which will help address affordability barriers.

Together, the charities Sands and Tommy’s have formed a Joint Policy Unit (JPU) focussed on achieving policy change that will save more babies’ lives during pregnancy and the neonatal period and on tackling inequalities in loss, so that everyone can benefit from the best possible outcomes.

The JPU’s mission is to secure policy change that will reduce rates of miscarriage, stillbirth, pre-term birth and neonatal death, and to work to eliminate inequalities in these outcomes.

While there is widespread agreement on the need for change to improve the safety of maternity and neonatal services, what that change looks like is not clear.  To save more babies’ lives we believe that a continued focus is required, and that governments should set new commitments to reduce perinatal mortality and preterm births, focused on matching the best-performing countries in Europe.

This role will be crucial to the continued success of the JPU unit; leading, shaping and coordinating all the unit’s work. 

We are looking for an independent and assertive problem-solver, a policy expert who can manage multiple priorities, take the initiative, lead the national conversation and is as excited as we are about taking the helm of this venture for both of our organisations.

The successful candidate will need to have a substantial track record of effectively leading and implementing national policy and influencing programmes, driving change and achieving the desired impact.

You will have considerable experience across research, data analysis, policy development, public affairs and communications.  Additionally, you will be well-versed in research and data management, including analysing complex data and evaluating policy developments.

Our courses and the AGM are delivered online, with our annual conferences delivered in-person or hybrid. The annual conference is an important event for BAAT and an exciting, key responsibility for this role.

This role requires the additional responsibility of managing the Events marketing activity, working in partnership with the Senior Digital Comms Officer.

The successful applicant will join a small, professional staff team based in London. We are hybrid-working, with a mix of home-based working and part (usually at least one day a week) in-office working practice.

About the role

GNDR is seeking a motivated and strategic leader to join our Senior Leadership Team (SLT) as Head of Fundraising, Impact and Communications on a full-time basis for a fixed-term maternity cover of one year.

In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for driving forward GNDR’s fundraising and communications strategy, increasing our reach, impact, and income in alignment with the organisation’s strategic priorities.

You will lead a fully integrated function spanning fundraising, monitoring and evaluation, and communications. This includes ensuring a joined-up and collaborative approach to consistent, distinctive messaging and engagement activities. These efforts underpin successful fundraising outcomes and support GNDR’s wider organisational goals – particularly our work in influencing policy and engaging external decision-makers.

This maternity cover role comes at an exciting moment in GNDR’s journey. We are currently evaluating our existing strategy and designing a new five-year organisational strategy that will unlock fresh opportunities to deepen our impact, extend our reach and amplify our global voice. 

The successful candidate will play an essential role in ensuring our fundraising, MEAL and communications operations remain strategically aligned and fully responsive to this evolving context.

Eligibility

The gross annual salary for this role is £56,098 per annum based on working full-time.

About CoppaFeel!

CoppaFeel! are the UK’s only youth focused breast cancer awareness charity, and we’re on a mission to get every 18-24 year old checking their chest. We educate people on the signs of breast cancer and encourage them to check their chests monthly, so that if they notice something unusual they are empowered to contact their GP and advocate for themselves.

We do this because when diagnosed early, breast cancer treatments are more effective and survival rates are higher. Early detection can save lives.

The Role

As Head of Finance and Contracts, you’ll oversee all aspects of financial management and contractual compliance across the charity. This is a hands-on role where you’ll be responsible for managing and developing our small finance team, while also leading on budgeting, funder reporting and forecasting. Alongside this, you’ll oversee the organisation’s contracts ensuring we’re operating in line with best practice and regulatory requirements.

This is a hybrid role, with the expectation that you will attend the London office 2 days per week. .

Duties and Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

• Line manage the Finance Officer and Finance Assistant, providing guidance, support, and performance oversight.
• Actively participate in Leadership Team meetings, contributing to the development and achievement of strategic objectives.
• Support the development of the team structure, driving delivery, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Provide data-driven insights and strategic recommendations to inform long-term decision-making and business growth.

Financial Strategy & Reporting

• Lead the annual budgeting and reforecasting process, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities.
• Oversee monthly management accounts; meet regularly with Heads of Department to monitor spend and evaluate impact.
• Support with the preparation draft statutory accounts and coordinate audit queries.
• Conduct financial analysis, working with HoDs to assess ROI across key projects and income streams.

Operational Finance

• Manage VAT returns, ensuring compliance with
• Assess risk mitigation approaches to balance financial safeguarding with delivery of organisational objectives.
• Oversee monthly payroll processing in partnership with the payroll agent and resolve payroll queries.
• Ensure the overall smooth running of day to day finances, and finance policy adoption/ adherence.

Funding & Grants

• Provide financial oversight and input for grant and corporate funding applications.

Governance & Legal Oversight

• Attend Finance Committee meetings when necessary and support preparation of required reporting materials.
• Work closely with the Director of Operations and legal advisers to review contracts for grants, fundraising licenses, or procurement—particularly where risk or value is high.
• Oversee supplier, corporate partnership and grant contracts, where highly complex working with solicitors for advice
• Develop, implement, and maintain financial policies and procedures to ensure robust internal controls.
• Stay informed on changes to relevant financial, legal, and regulatory requirements affecting the charity sector.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

Essential

• Proven experience in charity finance, including budgeting, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.

• Project management: Planning, tracking and delivering on project objectives across several workflows on time, every time. Managing multiple audiences who are likely to be at different stages of their engagement cycle.

• Customer Relationship Management: designing, building and automating CRMs including sales pipeline design and management eg Hubspot and Airtable

• Copywriting (and digital marketing and email workflow design): designing and writing posts and emails that convert - whether than be speaker invitations, promotional posts or conference onboarding emails.

• Digital marketing integration and automation: integrating and automating digital marketing platforms like eg MailChmip, Hubspot, Airtable and Zapier. Automating drip campaigns and email workflows.
