PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
- Manage and grow a transformational partnership between Allen & Overy Shearman (A&OS) and United for Global Mental Health (UnitedGMH), ensuring it delivers strategic value, visibility, and impact.
- Act aUnitedGMH’s lead within A&OS, and A&OS’s liaison within UnitedGMH to foster collaboration, alignment, and shared purpose across both organisations.

ENGAGEMENT:

This is a great opportunity to join the UK Committee for UNICEF (UNICEF UK) as the Events and Experiences Manager (Partnerships), based in the Events and Experiences Team. The role is responsible for delivering an exciting programme of in-person touch-points. The focus on these events is income generation, stewardship, cultivation and engagement.
You will have experience of delivering end- to- end event management, ideally in the high value donor space. You will have proven experience in innovating in-person engagement offerings that deepen and lengthen engagement. You will be able to evidence working effectively in large complex organisations delivering across multiple projects and events. A leading international policy institute is seeking a Finance Business Partner to join its finance team. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) to play a pivotal role in supporting world-class research that shapes debate and drives solutions to global challenges.
About the role
As Finance Business Partner, you will provide strategic financial insight and support to one of the organisation’s flagship research centres. The centre delivers thought leadership on the intersection of environment, society, and international affairs – working with governments, business and civil society to influence policy and accelerate sustainable change.
Embedded within the research centre but working closely with the wider finance team, you will take the lead on budgeting, forecasting and management reporting, ensuring resources are aligned with strategic priorities. You will also oversee complex grant- and contract-funded projects, helping to ensure that funding is used effectively and reported transparently to international partners and donors.
This role offers the opportunity to shape how financial insight supports high-impact research, strengthen the link between finance and programme delivery, and contribute to a major organisational transformation, including the introduction of a new finance system.
Key priorities in your first six months

- Oversee project finances, including income recognition, funder reporting and contract compliance.

About you
We are seeking a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with experience in finance business partnering or management accounting, ideally within an international NGO, policy institute, or other research-led, grant-funded environment.

What will I be doing?
Play a key role in supporting the building of, and day to day management of, the interim roadmap of tech enabled change for the M&D function, whilst the new structure is set up.
Lead in identifying opportunities to improve our marketing outputs or culture/ways of working, looking to enable a shift to more digital, automated and personalised marketing.
Accountable for documenting and managing new ways of working across M&D that support the continuous change over the next 3 years, including establishing an early piloting process across all tech enable change areas.
Identify stakeholders and ensure effective engagement and collaboration throughout the duration of the project.
Manage escalations appropriately to ensure decisions are made by the appropriate representatives based on evidence, considering risks, costs, benefits, and options.
In collaboration with the Personalisation 1 Project Manager, identify and plan resource needs, governance, and structure to support delivery, adapting as the project moves from design to delivery, and into post go live activity.
Work closely with business change managers to link in with internal comms partners and ensure programme updates are incorporated into the internal comms plan.
