Job Summary

The Research and Impact Lead role brings scope for collaboration and creativity working closely with BookTrust colleagues, our partners and families, as part of a team of research and impact specialists. In this role we are looking for an experienced and motivated mixed methods researcher and evaluator, with excellent partnership, collaboration and communication skills. The role is likely to suit someone with experience of taking overall accountability for delivery of research and evaluation projects. We are seeking candidates with previous experience of place-based learning and evaluation or strong skills that would be transferable to this context, alongside a strong interest in developing expertise in place-based learning and evaluation.

We will provide excellent opportunities for the postholder to further develop their research, leadership and partnership skills in support of a fast changing, purpose driven national charity. We are looking for a Challenge Events Fundraiser to join our national Regional Fundraising Team.

About the role

As a Challenge Events Fundraiser, you will support the Regional Fundraising Team to build a successful programme of challenge events that will raise funds and positively promote the Charity. 

This role will focus on a portfolio of mass participation and challenge events, as well as supporting national campaigns and community events delivered by programme scheduling, resource management, event marketing, participant recruitment and stewardship, financial reporting, database management and event evaluation.

You will produce and maintain the events calendar, research and recommend new events and work with our Supporter Care team to ensure support materials are provided as appropriate. You will ensure event performance, supporter engagement and income are recorded tracked and fed back to the Fundraising team.

You will ensure events are marketed and celebrated via established charity platforms, and participant numbers and income are increased through promotion to new and previous supporters. 

You will support participants through their journey, creating a memorable experience and positive impression of the charity, and will attend some events in person. 

Previous experience of event planning, participant recruitment and sponsor stewardship would be an asset to the successful candidate, who will also need experience of working with a CRM database and be competent at interpreting financial information and reports.

This role is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check.

You will need a good understanding of the events fundraising sector, it’s relevant law, procedures and techniques. 

You will be able to demonstrate an ability to research, plan and support a programme of events on a national scale and prioritise your workload to meet deadlines and KPIs agreed with your line manager.

The Cafes Manager will take full responsibility in leading and operating a successful cafes and catering operation, giving our student members an excellent service experience every day, looking to implement our cafes operation with new and innovative ideas led by the Head of Commercial Services. Our unique Online Reading Volunteer programme currently supports around 3,600 children a year. It pairs disadvantaged, struggling five to eight-year old (KS1) readers with reading support volunteers who come from over 170 local and national businesses. The volunteer ask is very focused: readers commit 30 minutes a week to read with a child using a bespoke digital platform for an entire academic year. The results are transformative, boosting children's reading confidence and ability.

Tender is an arts charity working with children and young people to prevent domestic abuse and sexual violence through creative projects. Our programmes are safe, enjoyable, age-appropriate spaces where young people can engage with sensitive topics and “rehearse” for real-life scenarios. You will play a pivotal role in raising the funding for our ambitions, focusing on statutory and trusts & foundations income streams. You will lead on both these income streams, managing existing funders and securing new funders. You will secure income from your own portfolio of funders and partners, and lead and inspire the team to achieve their own ambitious targets, both through new sources and through excellent stewardship of existing funders.

Role purpose

The main purposes of this role are:

• Researching, identifying and applying for grant funding and commissioning from statutory sources, trusts and foundations (T&F)
• Developing and writing high quality fundraising bids which align with the objectives and needs of statutory funders, T&F and Tender’s strategic objectives
• Managing and maintaining partnerships and relationships with a range of stakeholders (statutory funders, T&F, delivery partners, professionals in the sector, internal stakeholders)
• Developing the Statutory and T&F strategy in collaboration with the Development Director

Main responsibilities and duties

New business development

• Developing and implementing a strategy to develop relationships with, and maximise income from, statutory sources, T&F
• Working with service managers, designing, developing and submitting high-quality funding proposals to statutory sources, T&F which are technically sound, meet donor requirements and align with Tender’s strategic objectives
• Maintaining an up-to-date market awareness of grant-making trends and best practice in T&F fundraising
• Developing the overall statutory and T & F strategy with oversight from the Development Director
• Monitoring and reporting against business development plans to ensure objectives are achieved, and proposing plans for remedial action if projections are not on track

Relationships

• Managing relationships with Statutory sources and T&F funding Tender, building a deep understanding of the needs and requirements of each funder
• Developing and executing stewardship and relationship management plans for T&F to maximise the value and duration of their support for Tender
• Overseeing the production of high-quality monitoring reports for T&F, and using insights from funded programmes to develop case for support materials
• Working with other Tender managers to ensure the consistent tone and positioning of Tender in the implementation of marketing of all projects
• Line managing two Development Officers

Administration

• Working with the Governance team to improve operational effectiveness and quality service by identifying and implementing process improvements
• Contributing to the maintenance of Tender’s overall Development function, providing appropriate analysis and reports
• Developing and maintaining a funding database and ensuring it is up to date to effectively monitor and evaluate the strategy
• Completing all mandatory training, and proactively seek opportunities for ongoing professional development
• Ensuring that all policies and procedures are followed, including safeguarding, data protection and equal opportunities
• Working as a member of the Tender team and carrying out other duties that may be required to meet the needs of the organisation

Salary: Officer, Band C Level 1, £33,290- £35,289 per annum equivalent (depending on experience and skill level)

Thames21 is an environmental charity that works across London and the Thames Basin to deliver high-impact, nature-based solutions to the climate and biodiversity crisis by restoring rivers, while also connecting communities to their local green-blue spaces and inspiring long-term stewardship of them. 

Purpose of the job

We are seeking a skilled engagement officer to deliver an innovative programme of community-led river engagement activities in and surrounding the River Roding as part of a project funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund, ‘The Roding Rises’. This role will engage with groups from the urban and rural reaches of the river Roding catchment to co-design activities that support the delivery of The Roding Rises activity plan and encourage participants along an engagement pathway from awareness to participation and independent action. This role offers the post holder the opportunity to make a difference in diverse areas of London, with varying challenges and a range of ambitions.

The key skill for this role is being able to connect with and bring people together. The project relies on creating strong networks of grassroots organisations, community leaders and representatives from the public and private sectors, including councillors and politicians.

The key value for this role is curiosity. Being interested in people, able to ask questions, listen, and encourage them to get involved in whatever way they are able, will help you succeed.

You’ll thrive in this role if you can identify the strengths and assets of communities and individuals and create opportunities for them to flourish. 5. Build a catchment-wide community network, uploading details to Thames21’s CRM system in line with GDPR.

6. Collect and record qualitative and quantitative data on events and activities run, including written and verbal feedback from partners and participants, photos and numbers of attendees, keeping to GDPR requirements. Evaluate this information to develop the methods for engagement and inform future activities.

7. Carry out the administrative duties to run events, including conducting risk assessments and method statements, managing event registrations, liaising with local councils and community groups and maintaining and managing event equipment.  

1. Work with the Thames21 Training Officer to establish a group of volunteers who are trained in Thames21’s modules to maintain and monitor local sites. Includes supporting existing volunteers and assisting with building their capacity so groups become autonomous.
2. Represent Thames21 and The Roding Rises at relevant local forums and proactively recruit volunteers through in-person engagement events.
3. Maintain clear records of progress, ensure all administration and statistical information is kept up to date,
4. Work with Thames21’s Communications Team to promote the project, celebrate its achievements and learnings; ensure key milestones are recognised, funders are acknowledged, and volunteer opportunities are publicised.
5. Attend Thames21 Team Meetings and liaise with other Thames21 staff.

The Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH) is seeking an experienced and strategic Financial Controller to oversee the financial management, control and compliance functions of the College.

This is a pivotal leadership role within the Finance team, supporting the College’s mission to improve child health by ensuring strong financial governance, sound reporting, and long-term sustainability. Working closely with the Associate Director of Finance and senior leaders across the organisation, you will take responsibility for the accuracy, integrity and efficiency of all financial operations and reporting processes.

As Financial Controller, you will lead a team of six, overseeing financial control, statutory reporting, payroll, and compliance. You will ensure that robust internal controls are in place, and manage relationships with auditors, banks and investment partners.

This role will suit a qualified accountant with substantial experience in financial management and a collaborative leadership style.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading the delivery of accurate and timely month-end and year-end processes, including group consolidations and statutory accounts
• Ensuring compliance with all relevant accounting standards, tax, audit and charity regulations (including SORP)
• Managing internal and external audit processes and acting as primary contact for auditors
• Overseeing payroll, accounts payable and receivable, cash management and treasury functions

Essential skills and experience:

• Degree in finance, accounting or related field, and full professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
• Minimum of 5–7 years’ experience in financial management, ideally within the nonprofit or public sector
• Proven track record of leading statutory reporting and year-end audit processes, including production of group consolidated accounts
• Experience managing financial operations in a complex organisation, preferably in the charity or healthcare sector
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
• Advanced Excel and strong working knowledge of financial systems
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate at all levels
• Demonstrated leadership experience, with the ability to manage and motivate a high-performing team

We are looking for an exceptional leader to lead on delivery of our community based support within the London Borough of Islington. These services include core IDVA teams and additional specialist roles, often supporting survivors at the point of crisis and highest risk. You will lead on development and maintenance of effective commissioning relationships and be able to identify and develop opportunities for service enhancement and growth. This role requires in person working, mostly at our Head office in Camden, which may vary or change depending on service demands.

You will have leadership experience in a VAWG or other service delivery organisation which includes management of different service elements. You will be comfortable with managing risk and a calm, reflective operational leader able to support staff who are often working in crisis response mode.  You will have used your experience of working in a service delivery environment to identify and implement service improvements. The Role: Global Data Officer
As Global Data Officer, you will play a key role in strengthening the availability and use of high-quality data for decision-making at PEAS.
