Hours of Work:

Full-time, 35 hours per week

Salary guideline:

Up to £22,000 (depending on experience)

Terms of Employment:

12-Months' Fixed Ferm Contract [renewable / extendable] with a 6-Month Probationary Period

Programmes Graphics Designer

Muslim Hands Programmes Department is looking to hire a graphics designer to support the Major Givings Department. The Department has seen substantial growth in the last few years and now accounts for over £2 million worth of donations annually coming from high value donors. The person will work closely with our overseas partners and the rest of the Programmes Department in crafting brilliantly put together updates and final reports for external stakeholders. Attention to detail and a desire to go further to impress our high value donors is a must in this fulfilling role.

Job description

  • To design well-crafted reports and updates in a creative manner
  • To write compelling narratives for our projects and programmes
  • To work closely with overseas partners and UK staff to obtain updates and feedbacks for projects
  • To provide administrative assistance during busy periods if required to the Major Givings department
  • To support other teams within the Programmes Department with graphic design work
  • To demonstrate Muslim Hands’ values and ethics in own working practices, approach and conduct
  • To support with Fundraising activities from time-to-time, committing to partake in approximately 5-Live-TV-Appeals during our peak periods.
  • To undertake any reasonable responsibilities as required by Line Manager
  • To promote and adhere to all Muslim Hands Policies, Procedures and Professional Practice

NB: This Job Description is illustrative and non-exhaustive in scope.  The post-holder may be required to undertake any reasonable tasks as and when required by Line Manager from time to time to reflect the changing needs of the Organisation.


  • A good design eye and attention to detail
  • Experience and competence in industry design software such as InDesign
  • Ability to put together info graphics
  • Good writing and story telling skills
  • Able to edit photos professionally
  • Ability to demonstrate current eligibility to work within the United Kingdom
  • Must be able to either:
  • Provide a valid Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) certificate (issued within the last year) when requested by Muslim Hands; OR
  • Undertake to provide full cooperation for Muslim Hands to perform a DBS Check at the required level appropriate for this / similar role.


  • Basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud or similar applications
  • Basic ability to generate statistics and infographics from data
