Key Responsibilities:

• Provide day-to-day HR support and advice to managers and staff on a range of HR issues, including employee relations, performance management, and policy interpretation.

Skills, experience and professional qualifications required:

• CIPD qualified, level 5 or above
• Excellent understanding and application of UK employment law and best practice
• Experience of providing HR support for a remote and flexible working organisation
• Experience of working for a small to medium sized organisation in a HR stand-alone role
• Experience of managing a wide range of employee relations (e.g. disciplinary, grievance, performance improvement, dismissal, absence management), policy development and health & safety compliance
• Experience of managing staff recruitment, selection, onboarding and offboarding
• Experience of managing a cloud-based HR system, integrated with payroll, for the whole organisation
• Analytical skills to draw out useful information to inform reports and actions
• Ability to confidently and cogently influence and support managers at all levels

The Grant Operations Manager, part of the Impact and Charitable Programmes Department, will oversee the business-critical grant operations within the Grant Funding team. They will ensure there is robust decision making, effective processes to select and award the most impactful projects and programmes, and will enable the monitoring of outputs, outcomes and impact against the department strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Grant Governance and Compliance: Lead long-range grant governance planning for the team, oversee committees, review and refresh policies, ensure grant funding processes meet required standards, such as GDPR, and manage external audits.
• Grant Finances and Budgeting: Support setting and monitoring charitable expenditure and Grant Funding team budget, approve invoices, and maintain strong working relationships with finance leads at host institutions, the hospital and ICH.
• Grant Funding Team Operations: Support with the delivery of team business plans, implement KPIs for good grant management, and ensure effective support across the full grant lifecycle through team coordination and leadership.
• Grant Processes and Systems: Oversee grant processes from pre- to post-award, lead continuous review and improvements, support transition to new Grant Management System, and ensure accurate data storage and reporting.
• Grant Management: Ensure good processes are in place for grant funding elements of restricted funding, oversee use of special purpose funding, oversee accurate grant data to external partners.
• Line Management and Leadership: Deputise for Senior leaders as required, line manage two Grants Operations Officers and build relationships with stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in research and grants management, including research governance, project management, and supporting high-level committees. They will be highly organised, self-motivated, and able to manage competing priorities, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build trusted relationships across scientific, clinical, and research communities. A good understanding of charity sector fundraising, the UK medical research landscape, and the complexities of NHS-based research is desirable.

The Role

This is an exciting role joining a Programme Team of 15 staff based throughout the UK. You will work closely and collaborate with the other Network Managers and share some priorities across regions, working to develop the region as a whole. The purpose of this role is to facilitate good relationships between the mentors and mentees in the region. 70-80% of the role is about relationship building (with schools, mentors and partners), coordination and the tracking/ administration of those relationships. 15-20% of the role is direct delivery with the girls in the region.

Mentoring programme

• Manage overall success of the cohorts (groups of mentees and mentors) in your region, including coordinating and administering events and communications for cohorts in your area.
• Deliver engaging on-boarding sessions for mentees.
• Design and deliver events and workshops for mentees.
• Deliver matching of mentees and mentors at in-person events or virtually.
• Work with the wider programme team to train mentors.
• Support mentors once matched through regular check-ins, monthly emails and ad-hoc conversations.
• Collect data to track the progress, and impact of, mentoring relationships.
• Support mentors with safeguarding concerns, following The Girls’ Network process in line with our child protection policy.
• Develop effective relationships with schools, on-boarding, supporting and retaining the partnerships.

• Work with the Senior Network Manager in your area to identify professional partnerships and sponsorship with local and national businesses.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work on World Cancer Research Fund International’s Global Cancer Update Programme (CUP Global). CUP Global (previously known as CUP) is a unique, long-standing, and rigorous research programme that systematically gathers, analyses, and judges the strength of the global evidence on how diet, nutrition, physical activity and body weight affect cancer risk and survival. This work led to the publication of the authoritative Third Expert Report in 2018, which now needs updating in places to remain relevant and impactful. 

As Senior Research Interpretation Officer, you will be a valuable member of the Research Interpretation team and the CUP Global scientific Secretariat. Your core work will be supporting the management of CUP Global on a day-to-day basis to help deliver its main objective of updating the Third Expert Report. You will provide scientific input, administrative support, and help coordinate specific work areas of CUP Global.

We are looking to recruit someone who has a Masters degree in public health sciences, particularly nutrition and/or cancer research, and with a good understanding of epidemiological concepts. We are seeking someone with experience of writing scientifically, copywriting, editing and proofreading, with good attention to detail and with experience of reviewing and interpreting scientific research/literature. Join Us as a Finance Manager

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Finance Manager to join our team and play a crucial role in ensuring the financial integrity and sustainability of ESC. This part-time position (10 hours per week) is essential to maintaining strong financial records, reviewing budgets, and supporting compliance across the club’s operations. As a charity, our financial health is vital to delivering exceptional training, competitions, and community-based initiatives. Your expertise will help us grow and continue to provide high-quality opportunities for swimmers across all levels. Working closely with the Senior Management Team and Trustee Board, you will help with financial operations and contribute to the long-term success of the club.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Management: Maintain the integrity of financial records for the charity and its members.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Prepare annual budgets and financial forecasts as required.
• Account Management: Prepare quarterly management accounts and year-end accounts, including pre-payments, accruals, and journal entries.
• Financial Reconciliation: Reconcile all balance sheet accounts on the management accounts.
• Audit Preparation: Liaise with external auditors to prepare year-end statutory accounts.
• Treasury Management: Manage surplus funds efficiently.
• Payroll & HMRC Compliance: Prepare and manage monthly payroll and pension payments, ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations.
• Policy Review: Conduct an annual review of ESC’s finance policies and procedures.
• Governance & Reporting: Attend trustee meetings and monthly operations board meetings as required.
• Sage Management: Ensure integrity of Sage accounting software.
• Charity Compliance: Submit annual returns to the Charity Commission and Companies House.
• Project Support: Lead ad hoc financial projects as needed.
• Event Support: Volunteer at ESC events, supporting fundraising and engagement activities.

What We’re Looking For:

• 5 years of experience in management accounting.
• ACA/ACCA qualification (or equivalent) preferable.
• Experience in charity finance preferred.
• Proficiency in Sage, Word, Excel, and Microsoft Office.
• Strong numeracy and accuracy skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage responsibilities effectively.
• Flexible and adaptable approach to tasks.

The Grants Officer will support the Senior Manager to develop and implement monitoring and reporting
processes across the Foundation’s grant-giving activities. To be successful in the role, you must have
excellent knowledge of results-based monitoring and reporting, demonstrate strong organisational and
administrative skills, and ideally have experience working with colleagues from different cultural
backgrounds.

The initial focus of the role will be monitoring and reporting in relation to the implementation of a Big 6
EU funded programme, the Youth Empowerment Fund (YEF). This programme focuses on supporting
youth-led initiatives, giving young people the means to be effective agents of change. The YEF is global
in its reach but will focus on supporting local solutions and grassroots initiatives that young people
develop on the ground. The Officer will play a key role in supporting the Senior Manager to maintain and
grow Big 6 advocacy and partnerships for the short and long-term. This role will also work closely with
colleagues from the Operations and Finance team to ensure accurate information is delivered to key
stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities 

Youth Empowerment Fund (60%):

• Support the monitoring and reporting of the EU funded YEF programme. Including coordinationwithin the IAF and with the Big 6 designated leads.
• Communicating with and activating networks of national organizations to participate in the YEF,including sharing opportunities to take part in Big 6 advocacy activities and applying for youthled solutions open-call Local Solutions grants.
• Issuing of grants to successful national organizations and monitoring and evaluation, including regular reporting on outcomes and impact of national projects to the YEF project team.
• Sharing success stories from the YEF to support the Big 6 communication, storytelling and creative reporting efforts.

Other Grant based support (40%):

• Oversee grant-giving financial processes, creating and issuing of grant payments.
• Support the Senior Operations Manager with the reporting of grant activities for Senior Management and various stakeholders.
• Support the ongoing development of other Foundation grant reporting efforts as required.
• Undertake any other duties as may reasonably be required for the successful delivery of the Foundation’s business objectives.

The NGSN London Regional Board brings together partner organisations to enhance collaboration, service delivery, treatment, and understanding around gambling harm within the London Region.

The Board has a joint vision to build a strategic approach to raise awareness and provide education and treatment around gambling-related harm. The Board is chaired by Betknowmore UK’s Founder & CEO Frankie. 

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead our stakeholder engagement initiatives with local authorities across London. This critical role will drive forward the board's vision by building strong relationships with key stakeholders and ensuring effective collaboration between local authorities, public health services, and NGSN partners. By positioning gambling harm as a public health issue, we aim to embed harm reduction within broader health systems, ensuring improved access to support and care across London.
