Our employability team deliver a suite of careers focused programmes and activities to school and university aged young people. This includes Pathways to Law, Pathways to Banking and Finance and Pathways to Engineering, each providing young people with support and expertise in accessing higher education/apprenticeships, work experience opportunities, and skills development. Each programme hosts a national residential conference, giving students the chance to live and learn in a university environment. During the conferences our students have the opportunity to network with industry professionals, take part in a range of skills sessions and project, receive expert guidance on studying and careers, and experience university life through social activities and overnight stays in student halls.

We’re looking for a highly organised individual with a proven track record in event management to lead on the delivery of our residential conferences. Alongside our in-person residential activities this role will also coordinate some online activity for the Pathways to Medicine programme and a lead on a range of projects designed to enhance the impact of the Sutton Trust employability activities.

The post will report to our Senior Programmes Manager for Employability, working closely with the wider employability team, including line management of an intern/assistant and matrix management of team members when required.

Main duties

Designing and delivering the Trust’s residential conferences, currently one event per year for each Pathways programme (Law, Banking & Finance, and Engineering). This includes

• Organising and managing event logistics, such as venues, catering, facilities and accommodation
• Designing activities, content and timetables in line with the programme Theory of Change
• Ensuring residential conferences are risk assessed and run in accordance with latest health and safety guidelines
• Ensuring all activities are planned and delivered in line with safeguarding polices and best practice standards, maintaining a safe and supportive environment for all participants
• Overseeing all residential conference administration and pre-event processes, including attendee selection, communications, and requirement gathering
• Managing relationships and coordinating delivery with multiple programme stakeholders including university partners, employers, session facilitators and volunteer speakers
• Managing the residential programmes budget
• Line management of the Employability intern/ assistant, and effectively delegating work for other support staff as required

Responsibility for onsite delivery of each residential conference, this will include:

• Overseeing events of between 90 – 150 students, including multiple overnight stays
• Being the primary contact for staff, volunteers and partners
• Overseeing the recruitment, onboarding, training and management of temporary conference staff; managing staff teams of up to 70 people
• Ensuring all activities and events are run on time and on schedule
• Responding to student concerns and pastoral issues
• Ensuring the appropriate training and staff are in place to embed a proactive safeguarding culture at all events

Further year-round responsibilities will include:

• Co-ordinating additional online events and activities across the suite of Pathways programmes, including Pathways to Medicine
• Contribute to the annual safeguarding review and improvement process led by DSOs
• Lead on a range of employability related projects focused on enhancing the impact of our employability initiatives.
• Managing the MEAL (monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning) and reporting process for residential and relevant online activities
• Modelling best practise in utilising the Trust’s CRM system and data sharing portal - including suggesting changes to drive efficiencies and data collection
• Other duties as necessary from time to time

Person Specification

We welcome applications from individuals who have experience in:

• Designing and managing large scale events - for over 100 delegates across multiple days
• Leading young person-facing events and activities, including awareness of best practice in supporting student needs
• Leading on robust and responsive processes for safeguarding young people, ideally in a residential setting
• Managing relationships with both contracted and voluntary delivery partners as well as diverse stakeholders
• Managing and delegating work to a team of staff to achieve delivery outcomes
• Problem solving and adapting to achieve goals
• Monitoring, evaluation and continuous improvement of process and delivery
• Budget management
• Delivering online events and activities (desirable)
• Working within or an understanding of the not for profit sector;

We are also looking for an individual who:

• Is sympathetic to the aims of the Trust and its mission to address educational disadvantage
• Demonstrates a high degree of initiative and leadership when delivering projects and events
• Has strong organisational skills including the ability to multi-task and prioritise
• Excellent verbal and written communication and strong analytical skills
• Has first-class interpersonal skills - a natural ambassador able to represent the Sutton Trust in a range of settings

Terms of Appointment

• Contract: Full-time, Permanent
• Salary: £42,025-£44,000 per annum
• Working location: Minimum of 2 office days per week
• Office location: The Sutton Trust, 9th Floor, Millbank Tower, 21-24 Millbank, London, SW1P 4QP. Our home working policy gives staff the option to work from home for up to 60% of the time, with approval from their line manager.

What you will deliver (responsibilities)

Programme Support:

• Present analysis and insights based on performance data and any contact with delivery partners to inform decisions within the team about ongoing relationships.

• Help to organise, manage and minute internal and external meetings and events, including peer learning workshops.

Finance:

• Ensure robust financial management of Access’s programmes, including monitoring deployment targets of social investors and supporting the process for drawing funds from Access.

Relationship management:

•  Become one of the day-to-day points of contact for a portfolio of organisations who are delivering or supporting Access’s programmes, or in the process of applying to do so. These may include social investors, grant partners or other stakeholders.
• Build strong productive and supportive working relationships with delivery partners, in a spirit of collaboration and learning.
• Maintain comprehensive and clear records of the status of the relationship and any key questions or issues which are currently being addressed.

Data and learning:

• Support the acquisition and collation of regular performance data submissions
• Support the analysis and reporting on performance within each delivery partner and across the portfolio.

Other tasks:

The Position:

You will be joining our small, passionate NGO to manage our programme implementation and delivery. ABOUT THE ROLE

This role could suit two types of candidates:

• A practitioner with experience of working with children and families who wants to use their practice experience in a programme management role, or;
• An experienced programme manager with strong public sector and/or charity sector experience, who is confident working with data and is relational and collaborative with colleagues and partners.

It would be an advantage, though not essential, to have experience of Family Group Decision Making, solution-focused practice, or the children’s social care sector.

Whilst this role is a managerial role, and not day-to-day family-facing we do make space for our Programme Managers to hold a limited number of referrals each year to nurture skills and practice experience. Full practitioner training is provided for all Daybreak employees.

The role is home based with regular travel into Bromley and Hackney Local Authority offices. A successful candidate would also need to actively work in person with commissioners, external partners, and communities in and around Bromley and Hackney on a regular basis, depending on service needs. Willingness to travel to other areas, depending on service need and growth is needed.

What does a week look like for a Daybreak Programme Manager?

No two weeks are the same, but as a Programme Manager you can expect to balance a mix of operational oversight, supporting your freelancer team, and stakeholder engagement. Typical activities include:

Ensuring a quality service for families, and delivering on contract aims

• Reviewing and triaging referrals, including case discussions with referrers.
• Quality-assuring referrals and Family Plans, ensuring procedures are followed and records are kept up to date in our case management system.
• Monitoring case records to make sure Family Group Conferences are progressing appropriately, and accurate records are being kept.
• Collating and analysing performance data (KPIs), using MS Excel and other tools.
• Writing quarterly reports for commissioners, analysing service delivery, providing narratives and identifying areas for development.

Working with your freelancer team of Coordinators

• Allocating new referrals to our team of freelance Independent Coordinators.
• Engaging Coordinators in best practice discussions, providing guidance to overcoming barriers or issues.
• Acting as the first point of contact for safeguarding concerns, reviewing incident reports and escalating when required.
• Hosting in-person and online Practice Development Groups to share key messages and facilitate best practice discussions.
• Recruiting, inducting, and supporting new Coordinators - from advertising and interviews to observing practice.
• Reviewing and signing off invoices from freelance Coordinators.

Working with external stakeholders and referrers

• Building relationships with referrers such as Social Workers, through consultations and attending team meetings.
• Promoting our services to commissioners and senior managers in children’s social care, ensuring referrals are high quality whilst also raising awareness of the value of FGCs and our service.

Contributing to the wider Charity aims

• Attending Programme Manager and staff team meetings.
• Contributing ideas and expertise to strengthen processes, improve service delivery, expand our offer to families, and support Daybreak’s wider charitable goals.

DETAILS

• Salary: £36,000 - £39,000 per annum pro rata, depending on experience
• Location: The role is home based with regular travel into Bromley and Hackney Local Authority offices. There is also occasionally travel to Southampton (Head Office) for meetings and other areas, based on operational need.

Interim Education Programme Manager

We’re supporting an international membership organisation to recruit an Interim Education Programme Manager. This role is focused on project and programme management, ensuring the smooth delivery of education initiatives during a period of transition.

Finance and Fundraising

• Preparation and ownership of event/programme budgets
• Issuing donation requests and receipts to the charity’s partners.
• Recording and monitoring expenditure for all programme activities, liaising with the charity’s finance team when required
• Liaising with the Fundraising team and assisting with programme related grant applications

About the Role

Prevention Programme Manager

STOP THE TRAFFIK prevents vulnerable communities from being recruited, trafficked, and exploited. Our prevention programmes disrupt traffickers’ ability to recruit at-risk individuals by providing lifesaving information through our bespoke, geo-targeted social media campaigns.

A Prevention Programme Manager designs and implements effective prevention initiatives across different regions. This role combines strategy and hands-on execution, overseeing projects from inception to completion while ensuring alignment with objectives, budgets, and timelines. By leveraging strategic partnerships, digital communication, and intelligence-driven insights, the Programme Manager develops targeted interventions, strengthens prevention strategies, and ensures impactful programme delivery.

Collaboration is central to this position. The successful candidate will work closely with NGOs, governments, law enforcement, and Financial Institutions, contributing to a global anti-trafficking movement. Data-driven insights will inform digital campaigns, ensuring tailored responses to trafficking risks and at-risk communities.

Responsibilities:

· Programme Management

o Lead the design and implementation of prevention programmes on social media.

o Manage project roadmaps, budgets, and objectives to ensure high-impact delivery.

o Adapt programme strategies based on regional needs, cultural nuances, and emerging trends.

o Identify project risks and proactively develop solutions to address challenges.

o Build and manage relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including NGOs, government agencies, law enforcement, funders, and community leaders.

· Research & Intelligence Gathering

o Support intelligence-building efforts by collaborating with partners to strengthen the data and evidence base on trafficking networks and recruitment methods in an area. This includes data sharing initiatives, alongside interviews with MSHT experts and individuals with lived experience of MSHT.

o Use intelligence findings to effectively enhance programme design and map the target audience of social media-based campaigns.

o Deliver trainings to different stakeholders, including financial institutions, on MSHT.

· Campaign & Communications Strategy

o Develop campaign materials, including social media ads, posters, landing pages, and other primarily digital resources in line with STT brand guidelines.

o Deliver and monitor digital campaigns to deliver safety information to at-risk communities, primarily using ‘ads manager’ functions on social media platforms.

o Directly communicate and safeguard any beneficiaries who see our campaign and want to discuss their situation with us, signposting them to support in a trauma-informed way.

The Academic Registry team, one of the sub-teams within programme management, is responsible for ensuring that participants’ academic  programme journeys are well-administered. The team are responsible for areas such as academic policies and processes (including for assessment and student records), along with several other operational aspects of Frontline’s academic provision, from attending and preparing data for examination boards or exceptional circumstances panels, to liaising with external markers.

The Academic Programmes Administrator will work to contribute to a first-class participant experience on the Approach Social Work programme. The post holder will be required to be flexible and adaptable in response to diverse requirements in the wider team through the academic year. A high standard of customer service is expected throughout, including at peak periods. 

Some key responsibilities include:

• Act as first point of contact for queries from various stakeholders, working closely with regional delivery teams to ensure that applicants, participants and Fellows (our programme alumni) are fully supported with the information they need
• Service online and in-person meetings as required, including scheduling, circulating papers, coordinating breakout sessions and writing minutes.
• Provide support to the academic registrar for all registry functions, including the recording of assessment outcomes and preparation for exam boards

The Senior Programme Manager will work across teams within Breast Cancer Now and externally, to plan and manage, as part of Breast Cancer Now's exciting transformational growth plans, the delivery and evaluation phases of a 3-year pilot, train the trainer programme, in defined targeted areas within England and Scotland. This role covers the final 2 years of the pilot.

The programme will help drive forward the public health, inclusion, and awareness team's work across the UK, which is to empower patients and the public to play a full role in managing their own risk of getting breast cancer, diagnosing breast cancer earlier and improving their quality of life after a breast cancer diagnosis and treatment, thereby reducing the risk of recurrence.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the delivery and development of Breast Cancer Now's Train the Trainer programme, ensuring effective project management, evaluation, and continuous improvement.
• Manage a remote delivery team and external partners, including evaluation agencies and suppliers, providing strategic oversight and direction.
• Oversee public health and inclusion initiatives, building strong relationships with stakeholders, community groups, and health sector partners across the UK.
• Ensure high-quality programme delivery, maintaining documentation, monitoring impact, managing budgets and small grants, and driving process improvements.
• Represent the charity externally, including at conferences and meetings, championing equity and inclusion in all aspects of public health engagement.

The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in managing and delivering high-level projects and programmes, particularly in public health, behaviour change, and training delivery. You should have a strong background in developing both digital and face-to-face interventions for a range of audiences, including underrepresented groups and professionals across health, education, and community settings. Proven ability to manage people, budgets, and external partners is essential, alongside experience in independently delivering and evaluating projects. A solid understanding of health inequalities and the wider determinants of health are also essential.

You will need to demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, as the role involves engaging with stakeholders at all levels, including within the NHS and community sectors. The successful candidate will be confident working both independently and as part of a dispersed UK-wide team, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively. You will have excellent knowledge of monitoring and evaluation, as well as UK healthcare systems and the challenges they face. Experience of working in the charity/voluntary sector and within a cancer care environment are highly desirable.

This role can be based in the London or Glasgow offices. The programme is being delivered in England (Westminster and Leicester) and Scotland (Glasow and Lanarkshire), based on mortality rates of breast cancer and you will need to travel to these areas. The hybrid working model allows full-time staff members to work up to 3 days per week at home.
