We are looking for a Community Fundraiser who has these key skills to help us raise vital income for our charity.  You will develop and deliver fundraising initiatives through partnerships with local groups, schools, associations and individuals.  This role will also involve delivering a number of fundraising events so being organised and creative is key and having a marketing focus to ensure maximum success.  No two days are the same and we are looking for someone who can be flexible in their approach and able to multitask effectively. 

You will be based at our purpose built children’s hospice just outside Maidenhead, which provides support to children with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions and their families. We would love to hear from talented individuals who want to help us raise the money that we need to make these services available to all families who need them.

Hospitals need to free up beds by discharging patients who do not need to remain in hospital. Despite the pressures we want discharges to be safe, successful and as painless as possible for patients. We also want to ensure a patient is not readmitted into hospital. 

The Hospital Discharge Community Support Coordinator will match Age UK Lambeth (AUKL) volunteers and partner organisation volunteers to support a patient's discharge. Volunteers could provide support with transport, practical support such as food shopping or completing home safety checks. Upon discharge volunteers may continue supporting patients for up to 4 weeks, providing support in person (at the individual's home or in the community) and over the phone, linking them into support services and helping them access the community to prevent hospital readmission.

What you’ll be doing?

1. Oversee the development of a new, inclusive volunteer programme that offers a range of diverse and challenging volunteer roles to support patients leaving hospital and once settled home. 

2. Work in partnership with the VCS to create 100 volunteering opportunities to support hospital discharge.

3. Using the volunteer platform, Care for Me, track allocated tasks to ensure they’re completed. Monitor volunteer reports to review the support and work delivered under the project.

4. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with King’s College Hospital and Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital to ensure appropriate referrals are made into the service.

Scotty’s Little Soldiers is a UK-based charity dedicated to supporting military children and young people (0 to 25 years) who have experienced the death of a parent who served in the British Armed Forces. Founded in 2010 by Nikki Scott following the death of her husband, Corporal Lee Scott, the charity offers a unique blend of emotional, practical, and educational support to over 700 young people, and we have big ambitions to support over 1,000 children annually by 2030.

Scotty’s is seeking an experienced bereavement counsellor to join our small but effective team. The role involves supporting children and young people affected by bereavement, which may include death in service, illness, or suicide.

We want every bereaved military child and young person to have:

Our Bereavement Counsellor will be a valuable member of the SUPPORT Programme, delivering online 1:1 and group support to those who need it most.  But all three programmes work closely together (we call this the Families team).

Role Mission:

The Scotty’s Bereavement Counsellor will work with our families who are struggling with their grief to help them understand their feelings, develop coping skills and build their new life.

This role will be accountable for:

Providing emotional support, counselling and therapeutic interventions to individuals and families coping with grief and loss. The role involves working compassionately and ethically with families affected by bereavement, helping them process their emotions and find ways to adjust to life after a loss.

The Bereavement Counsellor will work collaboratively with the SUPPORT team and the wider Families team to ensure that all work undertaken by Scotty’s is delivered in a supportive and sensitive manner and that Scotty families receive exemplary care.

What are the 3-month goals for this role:

· Within three months the Counsellor will have developed their knowledge of the range of services that Scotty’s offers to our families so that they can advise and support families in their case load.

· Will have begun to learn and understand the Scotty Values and the Scotty Way (we do things a little differently and our culture is very important to us and our families!).

· Would have begun supporting the families assigned to their caseload by the Head of SUPPORT.  This will predominantly if not entirely be online 1:1 delivery.

· Will have completed all necessary safeguarding training and be part of the Scotty’s Safeguarding team.

· Begun attending peer supervision sessions with the SUPPORT team.

What are the 6-month goals for this role:

· Will have established a caseload as assigned by the Head of SUPPORT which is likely to include 1:1 online sessions, and may also include online group sessions, drop ins or workshops.

· Will have begun to support the wider Families team by attending Scotty events.  At Scotty events, a SUPPORT team member often attends to provide support to any families in distress (this may require occasional weekend or evening work).

· Will be working cohesively with the Families team and the wider Scotty team to share your knowledge and skills.  Scotty’s values a culture of learning and strives to ensure team members can learn from one another’s expertise.

· Will be contributing to peer supervision sessions to ensure all SUPPORT team members are able to give the best support to families.

· Regularly meeting with your selected external supervisor.

What are the 9-month goals for this role:

· Will be supporting a caseload as assigned by the Head of SUPPORT, with emerging impact data showing the success of your support.  Scotty’s uses the Child Bereavement Service Questionnaire (CBSQ) developed by the CBN to monitor the impact of 1:1 support and the Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ) for pre-bereavement support.

· Will be a valuable member of the SUPPORT programme, Families and wider Scotty team. Providing first rate bereavement counselling and support directly to families but also indirectly helping families by working collaboratively with other team members.

What are the key responsibilities of this role:

· Managing a caseload and delivering one to one counselling sessions as assigned by the Head of SUPPORT. This will predominantly be online delivery using Teams video calling but also other formats as needed by families.

· Facilitate group therapy or support groups when appropriate.

· Conduct initial assessment to determine clients’ needs and suitability for counselling.

· Maintaining accurate and confidential case notes in a timely fashion using our Salesforce based system in accordance with data protection and organisational policies.

· Adhering to all safeguarding requirements and operating as part of the Scotty Safeguarding team to maintain the highest standards across the charity.

· Supporting the development of resources and materials as needed.

· Working collaboratively within the SUPPORT team, including peer supervision.

· Working collaboratively and effectively within the Families team to ensure that families are directed to the appropriate services in a timely fashion.  This could include directing families you are working with towards our educational grants, our respite breaks, our events, our school support or our advocacy.

· Liaise with healthcare and mental health professionals such as GPs, CAMHS and social workers or other professionals where appropriate to ensure holistic care and management of risk.

· Attending at least six (mandatory) face to face team days, normally located in the East of England.

· Participate in regular clinical supervision and continuing professional development.

Skillset and Experiences Required:

Essential

· Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) or United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).  We may consider applications from practitioners with HCPC or NCS membership too.

· Level 4 Counselling / Psychotherapy Diploma or above.

· Significant experience (post qualification) providing bereavement counselling, to children or young people (0-25yrs).

· Experience and training with NICE-approved talking therapies.

· Demonstrated knowledge of issues surrounding bereavement.

· Ability to manage caseload effectively.

· Willingness to work flexible hours to accommodate children’s needs (this may include evening work to avoid school hours at times).

· Excellent computer literacy.

· Ability to develop good therapeutic relationships with families.

· Ability to engage with peer supervision and Scotty’s funded external supervision effectively.

· Ability to engage with a culture of continuous learning and support the learning of others.

· Ability to work flexibly as part of a team and independently to meet the needs of the service.

· Commitment to professional standards and ethical practice.

Desirable

· Accredited member of BACP.

· Knowledge or experience of or with the military community.

· Experience of online counselling.

· Experience (post qualification) providing pre-bereavement counselling or support.

· Experience of supporting those bereaved by suicide.

· Knowledge of or experience using assessment tools such as SDQs or CBSQs.

· Knowledge of statutory mental health provision and systems including CAMHS and EHCPs.

· Experience of providing counselling or support to young people with SEND or additional needs.

· Ability to drive with access to own transport is an advantage as some team meetings can take place away from public transport routes.

· Experience working within a hospice, NHS or charitable setting.

1.Duties and key responsibilities

Donor Stewardship and Reporting 

•Research, manage and develop relationships with a portfolio of donors informing, educating, and inspiring them about MAP’s work, and asking them for donations either directly in application or facilitating asks by peers. 

•Create a personal plan for each ‘qualified’ donor, taking into account the individual donor’s interest, motivations, giving patterns, any information they need to support our work. Execute that plan on a timely basis plan so that individuals are retained and upgraded. 

•Work with colleagues to secure appropriate project information, including budgets, to create effective offers, proposals and cases for support.

•Create reports that accurately reflect activity and performance for donors who have supported specific projects, to show the impact of their gift

•Ensure that all major givers in your portfolio are provided with the highest level of stewardship and take overall responsibility for your own contacts and annual workplan.

•Ensure the upkeep of a database and filing system on all existing and prospective donors.

•Provide regular reports to the Philanthropy Manager and Head of Philanthropy. 

•Develop relationships with Trustees, Patrons and other ambassadors/high net worth volunteer fundraisers of MAP, where appropriate. 

Events

•Ensure that appropriate donors/prospects/influencers are invited to cultivation and fundraising events and to attend these events in the UK.

•Support in the development of Philanthropy team events, including dinners, receptions, and donor field visits, as part of a project team

FareShare UK runs three regional centres in Merseyside, East Anglia and Southern Central. As our Fundraising & Development Lead (Merseyside), you will grow a local fundraising programme from its infancy, working closely with both the Merseyside site and FareShare UK’s national fundraising team.

This brand new role has been created to sustain, and in time, increase the financial sustainability of our activity in Merseyside. Through your work, you will enable us to test the viability of this regionally-led approach, and put the frameworks in place to scale and replicate the approach as part of a wider business cased rollout.

You’ll initially report into FareShare UK’s Senior Network Fundraising Manager, but will work day-to-day from the Merseyside hub, fully embedded in the local community and local operations - this will involve working closely with the Regional Manager.

This role is advertised as a 24-month fixed-term contract, but there is potential to extend based on results. If extended, the role may move to be managed and embedded locally.

What you’ll be doing

This role is integral to shaping a long-term solution to our fundraising efforts locally. As Fundraising & Development Lead (Merseyside), your focus will be to:

• Build and deliver a fundraising strategy to generate locally fundraised income to bring our activity in Merseyside closer to breakeven in the short-term, as well as having an eye on long-term sustainability and growth.
• Develop a compelling case for support tailored to local funders, businesses and the Merseyside community.
• Build a diverse pipeline and income portfolio, using your knowledge and experience of fundraising within Merseyside to increase funding from across multiple income streams – this could include from trusts, local businesses, events, the local community and major donors.
• Create and manage supporter relationships, providing a positive experience and excellent stewardship, and through doing so, maximising on lifetime value.
• Work collaboratively with FareShare UK’s national fundraising team to ensure efforts complement rather than compete.
• Test and evaluate your work to build the evidence needed to support the scaling and replicating of this approach in other FareShare UK-owned sites.
• Fundraise safely, legally and compliantly in line with regulation and FareShare policies.
• Use existing tools and systems such as Salesforce to keep financial and partnership records up-to-date.
• Undertake training and skills development and adopt a continuous learning approach to your work, particularly in light of these being new roles.

This role is likely to involve meeting with funders, supporters and partners across the region – both on and off-site. The ability to travel when needed would be helpful, but there is flexibility in how this is managed and achieved.

• Experience of working on partnerships that deliver both financial and non-financial value and an understanding all the possible ways in which a company can support a charity’s work.
• Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal, and the ability to win hearts and minds, both internally and externally.
• Experience of using data to make informed decisions and spot new opportunities.
• An ability to manage multiple projects and strands of work simultaneously.
• The skills to influence and manage people, including volunteers - building strong internal relationships to deliver results.
• A collaborative mindset and comfortable working with cross-functional teams.

We are  recruiting for a Philanthropy and Partnerships Manager (High Value) to join Mary’s Meals UK. ​The Philanthropy and Partnerships Manager (High-Value) will be responsible for the development and implementation of the team’s Donor Advised Funds (DAF) programme. As a growing area of focus for the team, the role holder will have a significant impact on the strategic development of Donor Advised Funds fundraising at Mary’s Meals. This role will be responsible for creating and managing relationships with Donor Advised Funds themselves, with Donor Advised Fund donors, and for developing our organisation’s skills, resources, and knowledge of this audience.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

• Support the Head of Philanthropy and Partnerships (PAP) to develop and implement the High Value Donor fundraising strategy​

• Build and steward relationships with Donor Advised Funds, both those we already receive funds from and others across the UK. • Identify data needs for recording and managing Donor Advised Funds and donors on our CRM and Dashboard systems​

• Work closely with the Head of Philanthropy and Partnerships to expand the organisation’s High Value giving portfolio by proactively identifying and securing new philanthropic opportunities​

• Manage relationships with existing High Net Worth Individuals (HNWIs), including those that give through non-cash assets such as shares or where there is potential to engage them through the prospect of DAF giving​

• Support the Head of Philanthropy and Partnerships to develop proposals and presentations to attract new innovative philanthropic opportunities

• Work as part of a wider Philanthropy and Partnerships team providing support to other Philanthropy Managers in their respective areas and leveraging and maximising fundraising opportunities​

• Collaborate with colleagues across Major Giving and Partnerships (MGAP), Communications, Mary’s Meals International and Data Insights teams to build appropriate supporter journey, communication and engagement opportunities for UK DAF and HNWI Engagement.​

About you:

• At least 3 years of relationship-driven high value fundraising and account management ​

• Ability to think strategically and manage a large and complex workload with good attention to detail​

• Experience working proactively with an entrepreneurial approach to network building ​

• Experience of identifying and cultivating new business approaches so as to grow the high-value portfolio ​

The Role

Role description

As our philanthropy coordinator, you will play a key role in building new partnerships with philanthropists and high-net-worth individuals, with an immediate focus on the UK, US, and Europe. You will design and implement a comprehensive strategy to build a robust portfolio of individual donors, Family Foundations, Donor Advised Funds (DAFs) and other personal giving vehicles. 

A proactive and thoughtful relationship builder, you will maintain long-term relationships and lead bold strategies to engage new audiences, including millennial and next-generation philanthropists. You will steward Open Briefing’s first global development board, working closely with our CEO and director of development to engage members around a dynamic programme of activities designed to make Open Briefing more fundable and findable. 

Together with our director of development, you will drive forward a multi-year fundraising strategy to resource our work with activists and organisations on the frontlines of human rights, social justice, and environmental action. 

Your primary responsibilities will include: 

• Designing and executing our philanthropy fundraising strategy. Lead a strategy to identify, cultivate, and solicit high-net-worth individuals (HNWI) —including through Donor Advised Funds, Family Offices, Family Foundations, and other giving vehicles—with an immediate focus on the US, UK and Europe. 

• Prospecting and donor acquisition. Manage HNWI prospecting, generate new leads, develop solicitation plans, brief senior leadership in advance of meetings, and coordinate cultivation and networking opportunities.

• Stewardship and relationship management. Build strong relationships with existing and potential donors through tailored stewardship plans designed to grow income over time. Manage donor tracking and communication systems. 

• Nurture and grow our development board - Work alongside our director of development and CEO to identify and engage members and steward the Board through a 12-month action-orientated development campaign. 

• Budget Management. Manage a programme budget for cultivation and stewardship events and activities.

• Collaboration and Communication. Work closely with our communications coordinator, director of development and programme teams in the production and dissemination of donor-relevant reports, updates and other content; and contribute to the conception and organisation of donor-facing online and in-person events.

• Team support. As a key member of our development and communications team, undertaken other duties as reasonably requested relevant to team and organisational goals. 

Person specification 

Essential 

• You will have extensive experience managing a HNWI or major gift portfolio. 

• You will have a proven track-record of personally securing four, five, or six-figure donations from HNWI and/or major gift donors in the UK, US and/or Europe. 

• You will have experience working within a nonprofit focused on human rights, social justice, and/or environmental action. 

• You will have excellent verbal communication skills, including English language skills, both spoken and written. 

• You will have experience working with senior stakeholders and board members to support fundraising activities. 

• You will have an ability to work both strategically and operationally.

• You will have creative thinking and problem-solving aptitude.

Desirable

• You may have experience working within a global nonprofit.

Terms and remuneration

This is a remote, home-working role. You will be contracted for 40 hours a week on a full-time, fixed-term contract. Flexible working is available and encouraged.

About the role

We are searching for an experienced fundraiser to drive and grow Individual Giving income streams, currently worth around £800,000 annually to the Charity.
