PROGRAMME DELIVERY

• Programme Delivery: Plan and deliver activities, opportunities and events for young people in line with programme objectives, processes and guidance.

• Programme Content: support and contribute to the development/review of programme content, resources and communications such as newsletters.

• Impact and evaluation: Support the collection of monitoring and evaluation data, facilitating evaluation activities within training sessions and events as required; contribute to ongoing processes of programme learning and review as a member of the delivery team.

• EDI: Work with the Programme Manager to ensure that Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion are embedded in the process of programme development and curriculum design, including learning styles and accessibility.

• Youth engagement and insight: Collect and process feedback from schools and young people

• Safeguarding: Uphold safeguarding and child protection policy and procedure throughout, including reporting safeguarding concerns and disclosures to DSL and uploading to MyConcern.

PROGRAMME ADMINISTRATION

• Stakeholder engagement: Manage day to day relationships with programme participants and external organisations/individuals supporting delivery, including managing the main anti-bullying inbox

• Finance: Ensure personal or participants' expenses are submitted on time and in line with expense policies and TDA financial procedures

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Programme Officer to join our Work Experience Team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an organised, enthusiastic and confident individual to join us in a role which has responsibility for ensuring suitable and safe work experience placements are sourced, managed and available for students. Our Work Experience programme provides a taster of the ‘World of Work’ helping to raise career aspirations and support academic progression.  Our team work with local and central London employers and education providers and provide placements for over 5,000 young people each academic year. 

Key Responsibilities of the role include:

• To secure, update and manage work experience placements.
• To handle telephone enquiries about the work experience programme, communicating with teachers, employers, parents and schools.
• To be a key point of contact for schools/educational establishments managing and overseeing the work experience process.
• To produce information and provide support to the Head of Work Experience and other team members.
• Completing one-to-one interviews with students with additional needs to ensure suitable placements are secured.
• Managing placements using a bespoke IT system.

We are looking for an individual who is passionate about youth workers being the best they can be and empowering them to be heard. You will achieve this through the delivery of our flagship leadership development program, Rise Up, funded by the Violence Reduction Unit.

As Programmes  Officer, you will be vital in the delivery of the Rise Up program, ensuring key milestones are met. You will support the day-to-day running of Rise Up by ensuring all practitioners are given clear guidance and support to engage fully with the program. You will also ensure key stakeholders such as the Violence Reduction Unit, youth workers, and the partnership are updated and supported to deliver the program.

We would love someone who understands the youth sector and what it means to be a frontline practitioner in London, especially in the context of violence impacting young people and communities. An excellent communicator, you’ll be able to share the vision of the programme to others and inspire support.

This entry level role into a humanitarian sector charity will support the planning, delivery, and evaluation of UK- and overseas-delivered surgical, anaesthesia, obstetrics/gynaecology, and nursing courses, will administer our medical teaching faculty, and will support all other aspects of the Foundation’s business as they relate to its international programmes.

Job purpose and key responsibilities

We are looking for a Programme Officer for our new Women Lead in Emergencies team to help us to achieve our ambition for women’s equal and meaningful participation and leadership in humanitarian and nexus programming.

You’ll support the team to deliver efficient and responsive global technical services for the confederation by managing information and administrative systems for the Women Lead in Emergences global workstream. You will coordinate with CARE offices and Women Lead project teams to keep global information updated. You will provide logistical support to CARE’s Women Lead in Emergencies Community of Practice and work with other team members to produce and curate content for our internal knowledge platforms. As this is a global team, in addition to English, you will be comfortable working in one other of the CARE global languages (Arabic, French and/or Spanish).

Programme Delivery Officer role

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic candidate to join our Programmes Team as a Programme Delivery Officer. PDOs will be responsible for supporting and coordinating the delivery of the First Give programme in up 50 schools, ensuring smooth running of the programme, plus providing guidance and troubleshooting for the lead teachers at First Give partner schools.

The role will be hybrid, with 3 days a week in our main offices in West Hampstead, London. Regular travel to schools across London and the South East will be required.

• Contract: Full time, permanent
• Salary: £28,000 (inclusive of London weighting)
• Location: London office 3 days per week, 2 days per week working from home
• Reporting to: Programme Manager

Key responsibilities

• Provide logistic and programme support to teachers delivering the First Give programme at their school, including but not limited to:
  • an introductory Programme Call with the Lead teacher;
  • delivering a briefing to class teachers;
  • troubleshooting via phone and email;
  • booking in First Give facilitated sessions
• Ensure all programmes are delivering all core elements of the First Give programme
• Update and monitor Salesforce to track programme delivery
• Liaise with freelance facilitators to ensure events at schools are effectively staffed
• Deliver Launch Assemblies, Workshops and First Give Finals in partner schools
• Collect data for monitoring (student surveys, teacher surveys, identifying potential stories of impact, writing programme reports)
• Ensure prompt delivery of any programme resources required by schools (including Coursebooks and other physical resources)
• Support in the collection and distribution of comms via social media, newsletters and other formats to raise awareness of First Give’s work
• Support with wider team projects as and when is necessary

Role purpose

The role will ensure that we engage external stakeholders to help deliver our ambition to be a leader, partner and ally in creating positive change for ED&I in the skills sector.

Key tasks and responsibilities

1. Deliver positive action activity for change:

• Support the development and delivery of WorldSkills UK’s external ED&I strategy. Ensure it is fit for purpose, has recognised long term goals and will deliver measurable change, reflecting organisational priorities around increased engagement with ethnic minority groups and females. Provide an overarching framework and help further develop strategic KPIs for our ED&I work, ensuring effective use of data, monitoring progress and performance.
• Work with the Senior Strategic Partnerships Manager to develop action plans that will drive our continuous improvement:
  • Support our skills competition development programmes to increase the diversity of young people engaged
  • Support the development of role models to showcase the impact of our work and encourage diversity in key areas of industry, including future priority skill areas
  • Support the development of learning resources that aid engagement with underrepresented groups
  • Support teams to ensure ED&I matters are considered and addressed as key components of all strategies, plans and programmes.

2. Manage the ED&I Advisory Group:

• This is a unique opportunity to work with experienced and prominent senior individuals from across education and industry who are invested in driving the agenda for ED&I.
• Lead the administration and ongoing development of our Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Advisory Group.
• Engage the Group to help support, advise and challenge WorldSkills UK on its actions to remove obstacles and barriers faced by young people from under-represented backgrounds in our programmes.
• Report regularly to the Group on progress against KPI’s and facilitate reports for the WorldSkills UK Board.

3. Project Manage the ED&I Heroes Awards

• The Awards is an established flagship event which provides a platform for WorldSkills UK to celebrate success with its partners, amplify best practice and inspire others to drive change across the skills systems in education and business.
• Project manage delivery of the annual Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Heroes Awards, supported by relevant internal teams
  • Establish the nominations process
  • Co-ordinate the judging panel
  • Organise the awards ceremony
  • Manage the support of the awards partners.

4. Manage strategic relationships

• Manage a portfolio of ED&I focused Strategic Partnerships with organisations from across the skills sector, facilitating their support and engagement with our EDI programmes.
• Grow our network of partners to widen our reach, help further drive work in this area and collectively impact on the sector.
• Advise and support the development of the CEO’s international activities on ED&I with WorldSkills International (WSI).

5. Raise the profile of WorldSkills UK’s ED&I work:

• Work with teams across the organisation to support our Mission to ignite a national and global movement to help more young people, regardless of their background, get the best possible start in work and life.
• Support the Senior Strategic Partnerships Manager and Marketing and Communications Team to showcase the impact of our programmes:
  • Help to externally profile and articulate the value and impact of our activities using the channels and tools available
  • Seek opportunities to advocate for our work through stakeholder engagement and networking
  • Support the Corporate Partnerships team to identify and secure commercial income related to our ED&I initiatives.
  • Work across the organisation to build on existing external relationships and develop new strategic partnerships that reinforce our position as a skills sector leader.

6. Internal ED&I Liaison:

• Whilst not responsible for WorldSkills UK’s internal ED&I activities and agenda it is anticipated that the post holder will spend up to 10% of their time supporting and working with the Corporate Affairs team on internal ED&I matters, with the remaining 90% spent on external work.
• It is not essential that the postholder has extensive experience in this area.

7. General

In addition to the key tasks and responsibilities set out above, all employees at this level are expected to:

• Produce requirement specifications in line with WorldSkills UK’s procurement strategies for all outsourced activity.

RAFT Research Programme Consortium Chief Executive Officer (0.6FTE)

The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) is one of the world’s leading public health universities. Our mission is to improve health and health equity in the UK and worldwide; working in partnership to achieve excellence in public and global health research, education and translation of knowledge into policy and practice.

The LSHTM is searching for a CEO to help in the management of the ‘Resilience Against Future Threats’ (RAFT) Research Programme Consortium (RPC). RAFT is funded by FCDO, and its mission is research that will be of practical benefit to national programmes for the control of vector-borne diseases especially malaria. The Consortium partners are the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, the Centre for Research into Infectious Disease Cameroon, the Institut Pierre Richet in Côte d'Ivoire, the National Institute for Medical Research (NIMR) in Tanzania, the Faculty of Tropical Medicine of Mahidol University in Thailand, and the Malaria Consortium. One strand of our work concerns the arms race against insecticide resistance in African malaria vector mosquitoes, and in particular the process of choosing the most cost-effective insecticidal interventions in the face of complex geographic variation in resistance and a limited amount of epidemiological trial evidence. The other strand is addressing the more strategic and longer-term threats facing vector control, including the rise of Aedes-borne viruses in Africa, and the effects of anthropogenic changes in the environments in which we live.

We are looking for a CEO who will join the leadership team based in the LSHTM. This is a senior role with operational responsibility across all of RAFTs activities, including its research, its governance structures and workings as a partnership, its relationship with FCDO and the intended users of the knowledge outputs. You will work closely with RAFT’s two Principal Investigators/Research Directors and provide support to all other Principal Investigators/Directors from partners in the Consortium. The CEO will manage the relationship with the donor (UK Government Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, FCDO) and be the primary point of contact. You will provide strategic Management of RPC governance structures; and actively participate in RPC management meetings with Management Group and running of the Consortium Advisory Group (CAG). You will work closely with the Programme Manager to ensure best practice in budget management, financial probity, forecasting expenditure, and financial reporting to donors, Management Group and CAG.

The CEO will oversee and report on detailed progress against the agreed workplans and logframe, including on risks to programme success and make changes and recommendations as required. You will lead on Lead on active engagement with RAFT’s primary external stakeholders (i.e. the main intended users of its knowledge outputs), including National Malaria Control Programmes (NMCPs) in countries with high burden of mosquito-borne disease, World Health Organisation (WHO), UK Government FCDO etc, so as to understand their research and technical priorities and to coordinate RAFT’s role and contribution. Finally, the CEO will also oversee the development and implementation of the RAFT Communications Strategy and together with the Research Uptake Manager, oversee all RPC communications, data management procedures and engagement of users and policymakers with the research outputs, representing the RPC in public debate and other media.

Candidates must have a higher education to degree level, or equivalent, or substantial relevant experience, experience of managing and reporting on programme grants from funders such as FCDO, EU etc, significant proven experience of financial planning and management including creating and monitoring budgets

The post is part-time 3 days per week, 0.6 FTE and fixed-term until 30 April 2026. The post is funded by the UK Government Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and is available immediately.

Specific Tasks and Responsibilities

1. Programme delivery

• As the delivery lead for CSC’s practice-related partnership programmes, (including our Inclusive Education Programme), work closely with partners, working group members and other stakeholders to develop and deliver high quality programming which maximises learning and dissemination opportunities, engaging external stakeholders and learning partners where appropriate
• Manage and cultivate relationships with current programme funders, ensuring that high quality reports are submitted to deadlines
• Where required, support the delivery of other programme activities in partnership with network members
• Working with partners and CSC’s finance manager, review and manage programme budgets

• Working with the Directors of Programmes, guided by CSC’s strategy and building on our existing strong partnerships, develop programme plans and project concepts in advancement of CSC’s goals

• Support the further development and delivery of CSC’s Street Work training offer, working closely with the Director of Programmes for Network, Practice and Children’s Participation, including supporting proactive efforts to secure training contracts/funding and nurturing CSC’s Global Trainer group.

3. Network development

• With the support of the staff team and Directors of Programmes, develop and implement CSC’s network approach to achieve CSC’s strategic goals
• Identify areas for collaboration with and between network members and facilitate shared learning, including via network-wide events, thematic working groups and geographic clusters within the wider network
• Be the first point of contact for reactive enquiries relating to the network and membership
• Be the ‘holder’ of network data, which will be jointly populated and maintained by the team 
• Be a champion for shared learning and knowledge exchange between the network and CSC team, including via network surveys and online engagement events
