There is a school attendance crisis with 1 in 5 children missing more than 10% of their schooling each year. This figure has doubled since the pandemic. They are missing weeks, months, even years of their education, severely affecting their future life chances.

Overall job purpose

Our Health and Safety Officer will help us embed, maintain, and develop high standards of Health and Safety, across CCT’s estate and its people. They will work closely with our small Health and Safety Team to create, implement, and establish our Health and Safety policies and procedures, in accordance with current legislation. They will advocate for, and set an example around, best practice in Health and Safety.

Director 

North East, working in person in Teesside three days a week

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader, with a passion for giving children the best possible start and with a strong belief in the power of communities. The role will work both locally and nationally, as part of the wider team. 

The Director will manage our client’s existing programme in Redcar and Cleveland with a talented and committed team (10 staff). They will also develop and manage the new programme in Middlesbrough, currently in Discovery phase, and recruit a staff team of 8- 10 people, with support from the charity’s central team.  Once set up, the Director will lead the following across both areas: 

• Building relationships and networks in the areas, across the public, voluntary and private sector 

• Leading the team to support delivery of the charity's local early years strategy in the areas

• Leading the delivery of a portfolio of complementary workstreams, continuously refining and strengthening the work so that we make the greatest possible positive difference to local children and families 

• Working closely with local partners and the national team to ensure that data and learning is captured and fed into strategic thinking and our national model 

Supported by our central team, the Director will enable local stakeholders to collectively support parents and children under 5, to improve outcomes in the early years and particularly improve levels of school readiness. Crucial to this work will be engaging with and empowering local parents who are the key to successful delivery of the initiative.

This is an exciting opportunity for an impact focussed leader, who brings: 

• Experience of working at a senior level with public sector and/or voluntary organisations involved in the delivery of services and support to families with children under 5 

• A track record of implementing concurrent and complex workstreams effectively, with proven project management and evaluation skills

The Role
This role is focused on managing and growing our work with other third sector organisations. It focuses on two areas: (i) developing our social enterprise which delivers over 150 paid workshops each year and (ii) delivering youth voice initiatives with other charity partners which amplify young voices. We're creating this new position to drive our strategic mission while enabling our Head of Fundraising to focus on individual giving, corporates, and larger trusts and foundations.

 Youth Voice Programmes

• Successfully deliver flagship programmes like "My Maiden Speech" - our high-profile, transformative multi-organisation youth voice programme

About the Role:

This role is based in Bedfordshire with consideration given to hybrid working.

As a Triage and Early Intervention Officer you will be:

• Providing high quality support to victims of domestic abuse across Bedfordshire
• Working closely with our team of Independent Domestic Violence Advisors (IDVA), providing support as required
• Making initial contact with service users referred into our service, identifying any immediate risks and offering crisis intervention
• Working with other agencies and advocating on behalf of service users in order to help them access services to keep them safe.
• Working within a multi-agency framework consisting of voluntary and statutory partners to build local partnerships, in order to offer a coordinated response to domestic abuse

You will need:

• Experience of working with victims of domestic abuse or vulnerable people
• Knowledge of risk accessing and identifying the needs of service users
• Have competent IT skills and experience of working on casework management systems
• To be able to prioritise work and deal with competing demands in a busy environment
• Be flexible to meet the needs of the service

The Degrees Initiative is a UK-based NGO that builds the capacity of developing countries to evaluate solar radiation modification (SRM), a controversial proposal for reducing some impacts of climate change by reflecting sunlight away from the Earth. Degrees is neutral on whether SRM should ever be used, but we believe that developing countries should be empowered to conduct their own research and to play a central role in SRM discussions.

Degrees’ programmatic work is centred on capacity-building through research grants and North–South and South–South collaboration schemes, outreach activities, and cross-cutting community building. As part of this, Degrees runs workshops in the Global South that bring new voices into the SRM conversation, and our research funds support scientists and other experts in developing countries as they research what SRM could mean for their regions and become part of a global research community.

The Administrative Officer role offers a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate to help scale up the organisation’s work, building on the successes of the last decade, and to help the most climate-vulnerable countries make up their own minds about SRM. 

Joining a growing team, the Administrative Officer will support the Policy Engagement and Programmes teams through the provision of administrative services to ensure the efficient organisation of, execution of, and participation in events. Secondarily, the Officer will provide general administrative support to the Policy Engagement team. 

The Administrative Officer will work under the supervision of the Policy Engagement Director, while supporting the Policy Engagement Managers and the Programmes team. Responsibilities will include: 

• Arranging travel, lodging and other travel logistics for Degrees staff, funded scientists, policymakers, and other external participants; 
• Managing the policy engagement events budgets;
• Arranging meeting facilities; 
• Facilitating requests for visas and other travel authorisations; 
• Serving as a point of contact for external event participants’ queries about travel and events; 
• Ensuring proper distribution of information documents and meeting minutes in a timely manner;
• Drafting general and formal correspondence; reviewing and formatting documents and slides according to style;
• Organising and maintaining the policy engagement team’s shared mailbox and filing system;
• Scheduling staff and other meetings; 
• Supporting processes for this new team, including aspects of monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL); 
• Maintaining the list of external policy engagement contacts; 
• Any other related activity in support of the Policy Engagement team.

About the role:

This role is based at our National Contact Centre in Cardiff.

As a Triage & Early Interventions Officer you will: -

• Act as the first point of contact for clients referred in to the service, ensuring that comprehensive impact and risks assessments are completed and a tailored response to each client's needs is provided.
• Carry a caseload of clients who require more immediate and short term interventions, referring on those with more long term needs either internally or externally. Ensure each victim receives an individually appropriate tailored support and information service that fully meets their needs, keeping complex needs central to all processes and decisions.
• Ensure that support plans are developed with clients where appropriate.
• Maintain accurate and confidential case management records and contribute to monitoring information for the service.
• Work as part of a team to ensure that all outcomes and KPI measures are met relevant to the local contract.

You will need:

• The ability to undertake impact and risks assessments and identify appropriate support
• The ability to manage a demanding workload and to meet a range of conflicting deadlines
• Excellent telephone and IT skills required to use a database and undertake all administrative and reporting requirements
• Experience of delivering a service and working directly with clients in a statutory, voluntary or community work setting
• Experience of safeguarding issues and legislation relating to both child protection and vulnerable adults

The Operations Coordinator (in the Partnerships and Development, Emergency Accommodation team) is a key member of the team supporting the delivery of services to faith and community-led night shelters across England. Working closely with the Programme Lead and delivery team, this role provides essential operational, administrative, and coordination support to ensure smooth service delivery and strong stakeholder engagement. 

This hands-on role is central to the day-to-day functioning of the programme, helping to manage internal communications, schedule and document key meetings, coordinate events, liaise with partners, and maintain project momentum. The Operations Coordinator will also support team organisation and reporting processes, contributing to the capacity-building efforts that underpin our partnerships with shelter networks. 

Although our main office is based in London, this is a hybrid role, suitable for those living throughout England.
