As Trusts and Foundations Officer you will be Baobab’s key fundraiser and a self-starter with experience of working in a small or medium sized charity. You will be responsible for carrying out a successful program of fundraising from small, medium and large charitable trusts and foundations to an agreed annual fundraising target. You will also assist in delivering Baobab’s individual major donor programme, helping to set up and deliver communications and events related to this income stream. You will work closely with our operations team to gain an overview of all aspects of Baobab’s work. Working in a collaborative team with the Operations and Fundraising Manager and senior fundraising consultant, you will be a central part of this small team and contribute to discussions on Baobab’s fundraising plans and strategy.
This role is for 4 or 5 days per week depending on your preference, it will include Friday which is when staff meetings are held.

Project workers will work with clients at their own pace to develop their independent living skills as much as possible, manage their prescribed treatment, develop their living skills, develop & manage relationships and build social networks. Functions and responsibilities
Organisation level
· Prepare annual, quarterly and monthly budgets and projections at the organisational and programme level along with management accounts and cash flow reports.

Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Strategic Vision:
- As part of the four strong senior leadership team (which also includes the CEO, Director of Partnerships and Advocacy and Director of Programmes), contribute to the overall direction and strategy of Access, and deliver on relevant areas of the organisation’s operational plan.
- Lead in the strategic planning and successful delivery of Access’s financial and operational management functions.

Finance:

- Manage the relationship with Access’ asset manager and ensure the endowment investment policy/strategy is being implemented, including in particular, adherence to Access’s stated impact goals for the endowment,

Our Health Promotion Work
The Health Promotion Team:

Deliver group ‘in-reach’ sessions led by staff and volunteers with first-hand experience of homelessness, using health promotion resources to engage people with health issues and talk to them about options available.

Support clinical services going into hostels and day centres to deliver preventative health measures such as screening and vaccinations.

Co-produce and support the development of accessible health promotion resources about health services and health issues with people who have experienced homelessness that inform, advise, and help people manage their health.

Co-produce health and wellbeing resources for staff working within the homelessness sector, better equipping them to support the people who use their services and improve longer term health outcomes.

The group in-reach model enables people with similar experiences to come together and reflect on overcoming challenges. As a project based on Advocacy principals, we do not tell people what they should do; but encourage autonomy to make safe and realistic choices. We:

Meet with people to ask what their health priorities are and look at potential topics for upcoming sessions. These topics are then shared with the staff team from the hostel/day centre so they can feed in.

Draft an in-reach programme and plan dates, times, and promotion of sessions, involving staff teams at each site.

Organise and co-deliver 5-10 sessions on the priorities identified by people experiencing homelessness and the staff working with them

All sessions focus on residents’ voices being heard first, then Groundswell facilitated discussion supported and informed by Groundswell health promotion information and/or clinicians.
The Health Promotion team also work with a range of external partners around screening and preventive care.
We work with partners to arrange health events at homelessness services; promoting the sessions by talking to residents prior to teams visiting and supporting on the day to maximise uptake.
About HHPA
Our Health Promotion work sits alongside our Homeless Health Peer Advocacy (HHPA) Program. Groundswell created HHPA in Westminster in 2010, to support people experiencing homelessness to overcome multiple barriers preventing access to healthcare, initially through funding from the NHS Regional Innovation Fund. Since then, HHPA has since flourished into a multi award-winning service working across London.
Health creates a foundation to move out of homelessness. Groundswell’s person led health services enable people who are homeless to access the health care they need, so they are not disadvantaged by the health inequalities embedded in our systems. Our health work is delivered by a team where most people have their own experience of homelessness, shared experience builds up a level of trust when there can be mistrust of ‘professionals’, because of past trauma or negative experiences.
The service is delivered by volunteer Peer Advocates and staff Case Workers, who build trusting relationships with clients and support them to access, navigate and use healthcare services. They aim to increase people’s self-confidence and improve their ability to independently access the services they need, which can include everything from registering for a GP, dentistry treatment, mental health referrals, hospital appointments, and much more.
Groundswell is unique in bridging the divide between health and homelessness organisations. We work in partnership with numerous organisations across London to support the delivery of our peer advocacy service.
Health In-reach Navigator Tasks
The Health In-Reach Navigator will be a vital member of our team, working collaboratively with various partners and agencies to deliver In-Reach sessions and connect individuals experiencing homelessness with essential healthcare services. We’re looking for a creative-loving Marketing Communications person to join our digital content team at Hospice UK. It’s a really exciting chance to jump into a pivotal role here, and facilitate much of the great visual content that we produce as a team.
You’ll be working with some lovely people in the wider Communications and Campaigns team, which is part of an External Affairs directorate. We’re a small, close-knit department but already this year we’ve achieved some truly mighty results – not least, our recent rebrand, new strategy and new visual identity.
As you might imagine, working at a hospice charity brings with it some truly compassionate people. It’s a really lovely place to work because the people make it so. As Senior Marketing Communications Officer, you’d be part of a team of three, including your line manager (Senior Digital Marketing & Campaign Manager), and Membership Communications Officer.
And yes – as a hospice charity, we do work with death and dying on a daily basis. But it’s not all doom and gloom. Actually, by talking about it, writing about it and sharing stories about it, we’re helping to remove the stigma and taboo that it often comes with. And those stories and communications help give people hope, strength and confidence, sometimes when they need it most.
As Senior Marketing Communications Officer, you’ll be looking after a lot of our more creative, aesthetic products and projects. You might already be working as a Marketing or Digital Marketing Officer or Coordinator, and looking for the next step for your career. Or you could be an established Marcomms professional searching for a new challenge. Maybe you’ve already been in a marketing management position and want to get back to doing what you love!
Either way, you’ll be pretty knowledgeable on how to look after digital channels like social media and websites, and will have some experience of both. You might have some photoshoot management and video projects under your belt too, and ideally you’ll have experience of managing a digital asset management system. The role will also involve some print project knowledge, so it would be really handy if you’ve looked after relationships with designers, printers and know how the process works (and what gsm our new Impact Report should be, for example!)
We don’t expect you to be a brand specialist, but hopefully you’ll have experience of working with an organisation’s brand book, tone of voice and visual identity guidelines. That’s because many people in other teams here will turn to you for guidance on how to use our new brand, which logo or font to use, and requests to source appropriate photography in our house style.
We’re looking to bolster our content and storytelling about compelling hospice care, and we’d love someone to join us with ideas on how to elevate that, and help source and write those stories up for us. Part of your role as Senior Marketing Communications Officer will be to help produce content – stories, videos, photos, resources – to our two major national campaigns: Hospice Care Week, and Dying Matters Awareness Week. Essential
- A successful track record in high value fundraising and acquisition, including a proven track record of securing five or six-figure gifts, to meet or exceed targets
- Experience line managing individuals, nurturing their development and managing their performance to achieve results
- Excellent understanding of complex relationship-based fundraising from high-net worth individuals and/or grant making organisations
- Experience developing and managing a calendar of successful charity events that meet fundraising targets
- Great verbal communication skills, a passion for presenting and public speaking
- Experience managing or working with a fundraising board or high value committee
- You will have the skills to influence, motivate and persuade people to donate
- Demonstrable experience of writing successful, inspiring, emotive, and technically accurate cases for support and proposals tailored to a major donor audience
- Experience growing and managing a pipeline, planning for your portfolio and increasing income
- An understanding and ability to build budgets and work with financials
- Experience using of Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- You have experience using Salesforce, or another fundraising database

As a Fundraiser, you will play a crucial role in generating financial support for CAN’s mission and programs. You will be responsible for developing and implementing fundraising strategies, cultivating relationships with donors and philanthropic organisations, and managing fundraising campaigns.
You will work with the Fundraising Consultant to develop and deliver a fundraising strategy which will ensure CAN’s financial sustainability over the next 3 years.
Core Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Develop Fundraising Strategies:
- Work closely with CAN Founders and the Fundraising Consultant to develop comprehensive fundraising strategies aligned with organisational goals and the 3 year organisational strategy.
- Identify and prioritise fundraising opportunities, including grants, individual donors, corporate partnerships, and events.
- Work with CAN volunteers on developing CAN’s commercial model and associated funding streams.
2. Donor & Funder Organisation Cultivation and Relationship Management:
- Cultivate and steward relationships with existing funder organisations ensuring ongoing engagement and support.
- Identify and engage prospective funders and donors through following funder open calls, targeted outreach and relationship-building activities.
3. Fundraising Campaigns:
- Plan and execute fundraising campaigns, including online and offline initiatives, to generate revenue and raise awareness of our organisation's mission.
- Collaborate across CAN teams to develop compelling fundraising materials and messaging.
4. Grant Writing and Reporting:
- Research and identify potential grant opportunities from foundations, trusts, and government sources.
- Write grant proposals and applications, ensuring alignment with both CAN and funder priorities and requirements.
- Prepare regular reports for funders, providing updates on project progress and outcomes. Project managing the CAN Founders and Staff Team to ensure proper project kick offs, data gathering and sign offs.
- Writing and project managing the creation of funding bids and reports. Supporting on relationship building with funders, with support from CAN Founders, the CAN Staff Team and Fundraising Consultant.
Skills and experience
- Previous experience in fundraising, preferably within the non-profit sector.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire donors and stakeholders.
- Excellent writing skills, with experience in grant writing and proposal development.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

The Ageing Well Functional Fitness MOT project is aimed at supporting mild to moderately frail residents of the Frognal area of Bexley with falls prevention, improvement of functional wellness and to provide signposting for sessions to enhance functional fitness within this defined area. The project will be working to engage with people who may be experiencing health challenges but are not accessing support, therefore engaging with them prior to a crisis.
Your role will be to create and lead a network of organisations and individuals to deliver functional fitness "MOTs" and who can provide support for functional fitness. You will also provide a regular link with the local population which could be utilised by other services and campaigns such as cancer prevention or dementia awareness. You will work to strengthen the network of community groups, statutory services and businesses working together to deliver improvements to health and wellbeing. You will engage with local residents to gather feedback about what is important to them and involve people in the development of additional health and wellbeing support.
