We’re an award-winning charity running local learning centres in the heart of the communities where the young people we support live. Our centres provide a high-impact education programme which includes practical learning support, pastoral care, and motivational and confidence-building activities for young people aged 7-18. Our aim is to enable students from the least advantaged neighbourhoods to realise their ambitions and achieve their wonderful potential.

As the UK’s leading university access organisation, our staff team is helping 56,000 young people each year at its 44 learning centres and extension projects across England and Scotland, and we plan to scale-up our provision to 50 centres over the coming years.

We are looking for a high-calibre candidate who will enjoy working each day with young people and who will thrive in a frontline, community-based, fast-paced and rewarding role. You will be taking up a permanent role as Centre Leader at our IntoUniversity centre in Leicester. You will have responsibility for running your IntoUniversity centre, including managing your team, planning and delivering the programme, liaising with external stakeholders and meeting  IntoUniversity’s targets for delivery.

A substantial element of this role is delivering our education programme to children and young people aged 7-18, so you will need to have a genuine passion and enthusiasm for working with young people, including leading a class of 30 from the front, working with small teams of children and providing one-to-one support.

The role requires intermittent travel in your region (usually within the day). Periodic travel out of the area is also required e.g. to London, this may include occasional overnight stays. 

Salary
£35,500 per annum. This will increase to £36,400 from 1st September 2025

The Trauma-Informed Programme Manager will lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of trauma-informed practice across the organisation. This role is responsible for embedding trauma-informed approaches within service design, staff development, and partnership work. The post-holder will champion best practice in supporting  our beneficiaries, our staff/ volunteers impacted by trauma, building internal capacity and influencing wider systems change.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Lead, and manage trauma-informed initiatives, ensuring alignment with organisational strategy and trauma-informed principles.

Oversee project planning, risk management and reporting to ensure the effective delivery of all programme objectives.

Contribute to organisational policy development, ensuring policies are trauma-informed and inclusive.

Embed trauma-informed practice across our services through policy review, reflective supervision models, and systems design.

Support a positive organisational culture grounded in safety, trust, collaboration, and empowerment.

Training & Workforce Development

Support training  and learning programmes on trauma-informed care and practice.

Build Trustee, staff and volunteer confidence in identifying and responding to trauma using evidence-based approaches.

Coordinate reflective practice sessions and peer learning opportunities.

Partnership and Collaboration

Act as a subject matter expert on trauma-informed practice in external partnerships, multi-agency forums, and strategic networks.

Engage service users and communities in co-producing trauma-informed strategies and feedback mechanisms.

Provide capacity-building support to partner organisations as needed.

Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning

Develop outcome frameworks and indicators for trauma-informed practice.

Monitor impact and collect data using quantitative and qualitative tools.

Produce reports, case studies, and learning briefs for internal and external stakeholders.

Safeguarding & Wellbeing

Promote a culture of safeguarding that recognises the impact of trauma and adversity.

Work closely with safeguarding leads to ensure consistent and trauma-aware safeguarding practices.

Purpose of the job

This role is an exciting opportunity for a proactive and driven individual to join the UK Youth Network Delivery Department. The Summer Jobs Programme is the largest programme in UK Youth’s portfolio. Funded until the end of 2026, the programme is currently operating in its second year. Reporting to the Head of Programmes, you will be responsible for programme managing our Summer Jobs programme. As Programme Manager, you will deliver the programme to a high standard and that the benefits to young people are realised. This will include ensuring that colleagues and stakeholders are clear on their roles and delivering on them effectively, that programme deliverables are met, risks managed effectively, and delivery is within budget.

The Summer Jobs Programme is a paid employment initiative running from July to September 2025 and 2026, supporting vulnerable young people in England and Wales. It aims to reduce youth violence and improve future engagement in education, training, and work by removing barriers to employment and offering structured, empowering opportunities. This programme is delivered with a network of local youth work Delivery Partners and employers. Young people begin with a one-week pre-employment training course, followed by a five-week job placement. Throughout, they’re supported by both a local youth worker and an employer-based supervisor to ensure they receive consistent guidance. 

Funded by the Youth Endowment Fund and Youth Futures Foundation, the programme launched in 2024 with over 400 participants and has expanded in 2025. A built-in Randomised Control Trial (RCT) will assess its impact on youth violence and long-term outcomes. In 2026, the programme will grow further, including working with over 2000 young people, completing a three-year period of delivery and investment aimed at driving long-term, evidence-based change.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of the Summer Jobs programme, ensuring successful implementation across multiple regions.

• Manage the selection, contracting, and contract management of delivery partners and work with Project Officers to ensure effective fulfilment of contractual obligations.

• Coordinate timelines, budgets, and reporting requirements in line with funder expectations.

• Collaborate with IFF Research to support robust programme evaluation, including participant tracking and RCT protocols.

• Monitor programme performance and provide regular updates to internal stakeholders and the Youth Endowment Fund.

• Champion the voice of young people and embed youth participation throughout programme delivery.

• Manage the relationship with our payroll company, working closely to ensure the successful delivery of Right to Work check and payroll services.

• Lead management of the programme risk register, implementing mitigation strategies and escalating risks as required.

• Mobilise our team of Project Officers to ensure effective Delivery Partner engagement with programme requirements and task manage other delivery roles to ensure effective programme management.

• Ensure compliance with UK Youth safeguarding policies and manage risk proactively across programme activities.

• Work with the Summer Jobs Employer Engagement Manager and the CRM Manager to refine and complete the development of the programme’s CRM system.

The Involvement and Engagement team at Alzheimer’s Research UK is responsible for delivering a wide portfolio of activities to increase understanding of dementia, engage and involve the public and people affected by dementia with research and promote the work of Alzheimer’s Research UK. The team work closely with people affected by dementia to gather their insights to shape our work and campaigns. 

The team is part of the Information and Involvement department. The department’s mission is to improve understanding of dementia and the diseases which cause it and encourage and support the public and people affected by dementia to get involved in research.

The manager leads on the development of a wide range of activities, such as coordinating meetings with the Lived Experience Involvement Group; the online public engagement programme; and managing the Inspire Fund community engagement grant scheme. The role has responsibility for monitoring, evaluating, and reporting on the impact of the public involvement and engagement programme. In addition, the role holder will identify improvements and undertake strategy development and implementation working with the Head of the Department to deliver this.

Reporting to the Head of Information and Involvement, the Manager has two line reports, and the team works closely with colleagues across the Policy, Communications and Involvement Directorate, notably the Information Services and Policy teams. The team also has regular interactions with people affected by dementia and supports the wider charity in engaging effectively with supporters about dementia research. They work closely with colleagues in the Research and Partnerships directorate, and Volunteering and Events teams to deliver activities.

This is a 12-month fixed term contract to cover a period of maternity leave. This role will be known internally as Involvement and Engagement Manager

Main duties and responsibilities of the role:

Lead the Involvement and Engagement team

· Work with the Head of Information and Involvement to plan and implement involvement and engagement programmes to support the development of the charity’s goals.

· Implement the Involvement and Engagement strategy for Alzheimer’s Research UK, ensuring a varied portfolio of opportunities, with a focus on reaching diverse and underserved audiences.

· Line manage two Involvement and Engagement Officers, setting objectives, with responsibility for their personal growth and development, and that of the team.

Implement the involvement of lived experience across the organisation

· Lead the management of the charity’s Lived Experience Involvement Group, overseeing the recruitment, onboarding and ongoing engagement of volunteers with lived experience of dementia.

· Lead and manage the planning of involvement activity, including a calendar of events and activities for the lived experience group, to include regular online meetings, in person events, and opportunities to contribute to ARUKs strategic initiatives and campaigns.

· Responsible for ongoing monitoring and evaluation of involvement activities, ensuring volunteers are aware of their impact, communicating impact of involvement both internally and externally to the organisation.

· Responsible for championing the value and impact of involvement across the organisation, seeking new involvement opportunities and working towards embedding involvement in key areas of the charities work.

· Work closely with and support the Research Involvement Manager with implementing involvement of lived experience in research programmes, also with external requests for support with involvement in research.

· Ensure processes to manage a database of lived experience volunteers are robust and up to date and that policies and procedures are adhered to.

Deliver public engagement programmes and activities

· Deliver the Inspire Fund community engagement grant scheme, managing the application and awards process, monitoring ongoing grants, supporting grant holders and reporting on impact.

· Oversee the planning and coordination of the public engagement events programme, including supporting the Involvement and Engagement Officer with delivery of the online public engagement series and other events.

· Working closely with colleagues in the Research team support and facilitate dementia researchers to deliver public engagement activities, providing guidance and resources as required.

· Work with the Involvement and Engagement Officers to maintain existing engagement resources and promote their use across the charity. Develop new engagement resources that can be used across a variety of events.

· Support colleagues across ARUK to build skills and confidence talking about dementia and research, and how to engage with their audiences.

What we are looking for:

· Graduate or equivalent level of education in biomedical sciences, science communication or similar.

· Experience of discussing and communicating health or research matters to the public.

· Experience of working with people affected by a long-term health condition and supporting their contributions to organisational activities or research.

· Experience of leading outreach, engagement and involvement/or involving the public with research.

· Strong experience of planning, coordinating, and delivering involvement and engagement events.

· Relevant project management experience.

· Experience working in an involvement, engagement, or public facing role or similar.

· Experience of working across partnerships, building strong working relationships (internally and externally).

· Strong and effective written and spoken communication skills, ability to tailor to lay audiences.

· Good knowledge of the research process and how the public can play a part in that process.

· Knowledge and understanding of engagement and involvement methods drawn from academia, health research or the charity sector.

· Ability to identify and develop creative opportunities for public engagement and involvement and discussion emanating from scientific research.

· An eye for creativity and innovation, and ability to grow personal network of professional contacts and create new opportunities for engagement and involvement.

· Excellent organisational skills; the ability to manage a number and variety of tasks to multiple deadlines.

· Ability to communicate appropriately with people affected by dementia and their families.

· Willingness and ability to travel independently in the UK occasionally and to work outside of regular office hours when needed.

· A confident, friendly and professional attitude; would feel at ease representing the charity to a range of audiences.

· Working with independence, intelligence, drive and initiative.

Ways of working: As part of our Agile ways of working you will be required to work approximately 2 days a week from the office, which is subject to the requirements of the role and the business needs. Flexibility on where you work can be split between working from home and our office.

Roles that are classed as part of the Agile ways of working are not able to claim any costs for Mileage/Travel on Public Transport, Accommodation and/or Meals.  This includes when attending the office for various meetings/events.

Job summary

The Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (RSTMH) is a charity that supports members who work in, or are interested in, tropical medicine and global health.

In September 2028 it is hosting the International Congress for Tropical Medicine and Malaria (ICTMM) on behalf of the International Federation for Tropical Medicine (IFTM), in Liverpool, UK.

ICTMM 2028 expects to receive over 1,500 attendees, hopefully with over 40% coming from outside of Europe. It is an educational meeting with a high proportion of the content driven by abstracts. The event is being delivered by RSTMH with the support of a Professional Conference Organiser (PCO).

The ICTMM Events Manager has responsibility for coordinating the development and delivery of ICTMM 2028 at RSTMH, working with the RSTMH team, the PCO, the event venue ACC Liverpool, IFTM, and other suppliers.  The individual would be based at RSTMH where the role would start on a part-time basis and move to be full-time 17 months before the event.

The role requires an able self-starter who understand the logistics and considerations of running a scientific, abstract-driven event of 1,500+ attendees, of working with a PCO and of educational events attended by a high number of international guests.  There will be some travel to Liverpool and the role would require some overnight stays there before and during the event.

The candidate needs to have excellent event management and project management skills, communication and relationship building skills, and to be organised and flexible with a great attention to detail.  They should be as comfortable developing an events strategy, as answering queries about tickets sales, and negotiating sponsorship. Alongside delivering the ICTMM meeting there are opportunities for partners to deliver events at the same venue, which are also the responsibility of the events manager.

The role will start as one day per week and then move to be full time as we approach the event. The current expected timings are

• Up until 31 March 2026 – 7 hours/1 day per week
• 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2027 – 21 hours/3 days per week
• 1 April 2027 to 30 September 2028 – 35 hours/ 5 days per week

Up to 1 April 2027 the role is purely office based, and there is flexibility to work the hours between Tuesday and Friday (not Mondays). The role has core hours of 10am-4pm so the working day needs to be within these hours.

The role may require work in the evenings or weekends and potential time staying in Liverpool.

Main responsibilities

• Develop a comprehensive project plan for all aspects of ICTMM 2028, working with the PCO, and be responsible for ensuring all stakeholders meet deadlines leading up to the event
• Coordinate stakeholders working on ICTMM 2028, ensuring all are up to date with progress and relations run smoothly – including RSTMH, PCO, conference venue, IFTM, ICTMM Strategic, Sponsorship and Scientific Committees and other third parties

Militaries are major contributors to the climate crisis but it remains unclear how large their greenhouse gas emissions are because reporting under domestic and international frameworks is often voluntary or incomplete.

Since 2021, CEOBS and our international network of academic and civil society partners have played an important role in drawing attention to this data gap. Our Military Emissions Gap project works to communicate the scale of the reporting gap, to mainstream the topic in climate and military spaces, and to help create the conditions whereby the emissions from military activities and armed conflicts are properly documented and understood. We work with a wide range of stakeholders, from militaries, academia and the media, to policy makers and peace groups.

Research is vital to the project, underpinning all of our advocacy and awareness-raising activities and, thanks to recent grant funding we are now in a position to create a dedicated post for the project.

The role

You will work with our Climate Advocacy Coordinator, Director and academic partners to produce and contribute to unique research on military and conflict emissions, military-related climate impacts, and comparative studies on civil mitigation and decarbonisation strategies. • Lead the delivery of our 2026 benchmark of some of the world’s largest insurance companies (following our 2024 report), using your project management and research skills to ensure timely delivery of a high-quality publication and support the development of junior researchers in the team.

Leading a small team of dedicated researchers within the Financial Sector Research team, you will support the Head of the team to ensure delivery of the insurance sector benchmark, one of ShareAction’s key reports ranking financial institutions. You will be supported in your role by a digital risk and resilience coordinator and a team of highly-motivated consultants, other members of the senior leadership team, our office manager, and a CEO who models servant leadership. You will also have detailed handover notes and access to our extensive internal knowledge base and up-to-date project management system.

To help you grow as a leader, we will co-design your quarterly objectives, regularly review your priorities and progress, and provide an annual 360 performance and growth review. All team members also have access to unlimited professional coaching and other learning and development opportunities.

Person specification

Essential

1. You will be an experienced and empathetic leader or manager who values collaboration and teamwork.
2. You will have a proven track record in digital and information security roles.
3. You will have considerable digital and information security expertise and be able to communicate and apply that knowledge clearly, concisely, and effectively.
4. You will have experience working with nonprofits and foundations and/or grassroots movements, organisations, and activists.
5. You will have experience working in professional consultancy and advisory roles.
6. You will be sensitive to the progressive and rights-based missions and diverse profiles of our clients and other stakeholders.
7. You will have excellent written and spoken English.
8. You will be based in a country with a time zone that is UTC +/- 3 hours or able to accommodate our core working hours.

Desirable

1. You may have a strong understanding of the physical security and psychosocial aspects of holistic security and how they interact with digital risk and resilience.
2. You may have proficiency in additional languages.

We are a global, remote-first, and digital nomad-friendly organisation. This is a home-working role with some potential for occasional international travel.
