The Organisation
The Chartered College of Teaching is a charity and the professional body for teachers. We are working to empower a knowledgeable and respected teaching profession through membership and accreditation.
We are dedicated to bridging the gap between practice and research and equipping teachers from the moment they enter the classroom with the knowledge and confidence to make the best decisions for their pupils.
Our activities mainly focus on four key areas:
- membership
- teacher CPD and accreditation
- research, policy and events
- online and print resources
The Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for a postgraduate-level researcher who wishes to combine their expertise in education research and astute understanding of real-life classroom practice. While the role will sit within the Chartered College of Teaching, the postholder will also receive mentoring from Professor Bill Lucas, Professor of Learning and Director of the Centre for Real-Life Learning at the University of Winchester, providing a rare opportunity to combine academically rigorous research with real-life application. As part of a project funded by the Comino Foundation, the Teaching and Assessment Research Specialist will help to increase teachers’ assessment literacy by managing a portfolio of assessment-themed online events, developing a suite of assessment-themed resources, co-ordinating the work of the Next Generation Assessment group and developing an overview of evidence-informed teaching and assessment strategies and how they link to intended student outcomes, based on a series of rapid evidence reviews.
Over the course of the assignment, you will support the Head of Research and Policy and work closely with the Research Lead and the Events and Engagement Manager to create and manage an engaging portfolio of online, assessment-themed events and resources.

- co-ordinate the work of the Next Generation Assessment group

The postholder will also be required to collate policy announcements around assessment and monitor any developments relating to the use of EdTech and AI for assessment. The ultimate aim of this work is to help illustrate that the common ‘trad’ versus ‘prog’ debates that still dominate many discussions in education are ultimately unhelpful and teachers need a wide range of different teaching approaches to help support a range of intended learning outcomes. This would be an ideal opportunity for anyone with proven expertise in and understanding of the links between evidence-informed teaching and assessment approaches and how they link to desired learning outcomes.

About the Adopt a School Trust
Founded in 1990, the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts’ Adopt a School Trust is a national charity delivering food education in schools. The Adopt a School team, members of The Royal Academy of Culinary Arts, and those in the hospitality industry trained by us, work with schools with the aim of passing on their passion and expertise. Our vision is that every child learns about food in a holistic sense and has the confidence to eat well, be healthy and happy. Our programme helps children to develop healthy eating habits and encourages an enthusiasm and interest in food and cooking, as well as giving an insight into the hospitality industry.
About the role
In August 2025 we completed the initial phase of implementing the charity’s first CRM system, Beacon. It marks the beginning of an exciting phase of development for the charity that will continue through to the end of 2028 and include other projects to significantly modernise and improve our operations.
A further period of Beacon implementation will follow throughout the 2025-26 academic year. The CRM and Programme Administrator is a new role, created primarily to fill a pressing need for extra admin and office support. However, there is potential for the role to grow alongside the charity’s ongoing digital transformation.
Our CRM system is heavily customised to meet the unique requirements of the Adopt a School programme. Due to the often-complex nature of facilitating relationships between busy schools and hospitality professionals, our system is only lightly automated at present, but this may change in future.
The successful applicant will join a small and friendly team, working closely with our CRM, Learning and Engagement Manager to coordinate the day-to-day delivery of the Adopt a School programme. Other colleagues and key collaborators include:
- our team of Regional Chefs
- the chefs and hospitality professionals who volunteer their time and expertise to deliver sessions in schools
- the schools who participate in our programme
- our fundraisers, supporters, partners and suppliers
- the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts team, with whom we share our London office.
JOB DESCRIPTION

Due to increased investment from the university we’re really excited to announce the recruitment for the role of Student Adviser.
Who we are
Part business, part charity, part membership body – students’ unions are all seriously fun places to work. They are organisations in their own right. Professionally run, but different. Professional teams support elected student leaders to make change, improve lives and fulfill potential; we help make it happen.
About the job
We are looking for a Student Advisor to join our Advice team, helping students navigate challenges and make the most of their time at UAL. You'll offer one-to-one and group advice on a range of academic (including appeals, academic misconduct, complaints and extenuating circumstances) and housing issues, signposting students to other useful services when needed. Sometimes you'll act as an advocate for students in university meetings or help them put together a strong case to get the outcome they're hoping for. You'll also play a big role in our outreach - running drop-ins creating resources and delivering activities to raise awareness of our services across various sites. In addition you'll contribute to service improvements, research projects as well as working with our student leaders on specific projects. It's a varied role where no two days are the same while making a real difference to students' lives.
Who we are looking for?
You'll be a great communicator who can explain complex regulations in a clear, friendly way. We're looking for someone who's approachable, empathetic, and committed to supporting students with experience giving advice or providing welfare or support services. You'll need to be organised to manage a busy caseload, staying calm under pressure and handling sensitive information with confidentiality. Knowledge of housing or academic advice is a big plus and an understanding of the issues facing students in higher education will help you hit the ground running. Most importantly, you'll be someone who genuinely cares about inclusivity and work to ensure that every student feels heard, respected and supported.
Why apply?
Because you’re excited by the challenge! The exact opposite of corporate, we’re progressive, daring and creative individuals working to make a difference in unconventional workplaces.
Benefits and Perks
In return for your passion and experience, we offer:
- a summer 4-day working week - we have a four day working week during the months of July & August

The Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) is excited to be recruiting for two new Marketing Executive positions; each focused on a specific portfolio:
Membership Marketing Executive
The Membership portfolio plays a pivotal role in driving our growth strategy by delivering impactful, member-centric campaigns, initiatives, and activities. Our focus is on strengthening engagement, retention, and acquisition by clearly communicating the Membership Value Proposition (MVP) at every stage of the member lifecycle. As part of a marketing team of four, you will start to make a real difference from day one. You'll plan, manage, deliver and evaluate end to end marketing campaigns that drive engagement and reinforce the value of College membership to our audiences.
We're looking for confident and creative communicators with a sharp eye for detail – both written and verbal – and the ability to craft compelling messages across channels, particularly email, web and social. You will be adept working with various marketing tools and juggling multiple projects. You will also enjoy collaborating with teams, influencing and managing stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of plans that make a real impact.
To succeed in these roles, you will be experienced at project managing campaigns from start to finish. You'll have excellent organisation skills, strong audience-led copywriting and content creation skills. You’ll be an enthusiastic innovator, keen to apply a test, learn and optimise approach, with a passion for member engagement and professional development.
You’ll join a thriving, supportive and growing team of marketing professionals with responsibility for driving member acquisition, retention, engagement and value. Our team includes experts in digital marketing, portfolio management, and campaign delivery.
The RCGP provides a supportive culture for your own learning, with opportunities for you to stretch yourself and test out different ways of working. We value innovation, collaboration, and the wellbeing of our staff, and offer a comprehensive benefits package, including:
