Why Access Social Care Exists
Every day, millions of older and disabled people are denied the social care they need. Most local authorities can’t meet the growing demand for care, and none are confident they can meet their legal duties in the future. This affects all of us - we will all need social care at some point in our lives.
We all have a right to hold public bodies to account, but most of us cannot afford lawyers so rely on legal aid. The 92% drop in legal aid cases since 2010 means that we have nowhere to turn. Without access to justice, our rights do not exist. The rule of law is broken.
What we do
Access Social Care provides free legal advice and information for people with social care needs, helping achieve a better quality of life. We work with communities to increase knowledge of the law and our rights. We highlight the gap left by cuts to Legal Aid and provide advice for those who can’t afford it.
With a 98% success rate, our network of lawyers provide access to justice when things go wrong. We collaborate with social services whilst ensuring legal obligations are met. We are working towards a future where social care is adequately funded, and we all get the support we need.
We provide rights awareness training to front line managers, and legal advice and support to families and individuals. As well as providing access to justice, our aim is to drive system level change through evidence-led influencing and strategic casework.
This is an exciting time to join ASC. We have a new strategy and are growing quickly including across our senior leadership team. About the role
This role plays a key part in supporting the smooth and efficient running of the team’s day-to-day operations. It offers a varied mix of administrative and coordination responsibilities, providing vital support across the organisation and helping to keep processes running seamlessly. Responsibilities
Travel and Logistics Coordination
· Coordinate and book travel, hotels, flights, meeting rooms, and refreshments, for team members and organisation-wide activities
· Maintain clear and accurate records relevant to bookings and logistics
Administrative and Systems Support
· Handle ad-hoc administrative requests as required by team members
· Process and fulfil Adobe-related requests, such as document editing, file conversion, or e-signature tasks
· Offer internal meeting and event support for organisation-wide meetings, ensuring they are diarised and attendance is managed
Inbox and Data Management
· Monitor and respond to the Enquiries inbox, ensuring all communications are handled promptly and professionally.

Events and Engagement Support
· Assist with planning and delivery of internal events, including logistics, attendee management, and on-the-day coordination

About the role
Scripture Union England & Wales (SU) one of the UK’s longest-established children and youth ministry organisations is working in partnership with Activate, an exciting local sport and wellbeing project, to offer this unique role to reach many more young people in the Bushy Park area and across the South of England through physical activity.
We’re looking for a creative and entrepreneurial individual with a passion for using sport to help children and young people across the South of England to explore and respond to the good news of Jesus.
This unique role combines the benefits of direct face-to-face engagement with young people in a local context, delivering mission through sport activities and programmes, while also developing and mentoring others to expand ministry across the South region. You might have heard of us before if you're one of the 1.5 million+ who have attended one of our Christian holidays or missions over the years, or maybe you're one of the 40,000+ subscribers to have used our brilliant devotionals or been stirred by our exceptional bible resources. We've been at this for a fair few years... over 150 to be precise. Over this time, we’ve remained passionate about helping children and young people develop a vibrant faith in Jesus. As our name describes, the radical power of God's word has always been central to our approach.
We still do all the great stuff with resources and holidays, but in the last few years, we have sharpened our vision with a renewed focus to help the 95% of young people (primary and secondary school age) across the UK who have never stepped foot inside a church, to hear and respond to the good news of Jesus. About Activate
Activate is a sport and physical activity-based programme, formed in 2018, seeking to build community through wellbeing that invigorates faith. Activate seeks to release God’s people to join in his mission through sport and physical activity in the areas surrounding Bushy Park. This includes gathering, encouraging and empowering local Christians involved in sports ministry, including expressions of chaplaincy and missional communities centred around sports clubs, centres, educational settings and gyms. A number of local churches across denominations and Dioceses have been supporters of the project.
In the past Activate has supported sports projects in local schools, an activity-based church service, wellbeing cafe sessions, exercise sessions for the elderly and youth activities. The successful candidate will be involved in re-launching Activate’s mission after a break due to staff changes.
About your team
With this role, you will have the benefit of being part of a national-focused sports team at SU, as well as the south team with a regional focus and the local context with Activate. You’ll work out of the office of St Peter’s Church, West Molesey, benefiting from the support of a local parish-based team including clergy and youth workers. You’ll contribute your expertise in a variety of settings, ranging from urban and suburban to coastal and rural areas across the south. You’ll have a brilliant time getting acquainted with this rich tapestry of local and national partners. Across the south region, we currently work with 130 churches and have 150 faith guides. As Business Development Manager for our Community Services will focus and lead on:

RNID Near You is our national community-based service run by trained volunteers which offers:

Responsibilities

About The Role
This role is about designing and implementing strategies, tools and platforms that support shared learning and collaboration among organisations working towards cleaner air. Working closely with the Head of Learning and Innovation, you will lead a global needs assessment across multiple cities, which will inform the development of a training programme for movement building leads at the city level, with pilots of that approach in two cities. The post holder should have some experience of children’s ministry and working or volunteering in a church and/or school context. To succeed, they need to be enthusiastic, relational, self-motivated and able to lead children in a variety of contexts.
There is an Occupational Requirement for the post-holder to be a practising Christian, in accordance with Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010.

JOB PURPOSE
To improve the provision of consistent high-quality debt advice, enhancing the experience of clients, by working collaboratively with delivery suppliers, to support them in implementing improvement activities, and in assessing and monitoring the quality of debt advice.
To support the implementation and ongoing facilitation of project quality assurance and improvement processes, working collaboratively with the EMMA management team to inform and support contract compliance and performance management activities.
To identify good practice and share learning with delivery suppliers, and across roles within MaPS and across all funded services to support improvement and development of advice services.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Deliver individual strategic projects/business plan objectives for the team
Work with debt advice providers on an individual basis to improve the provision of consistent and high-quality debt advice, by supporting suppliers to implement improvement activities, and to assess and monitor the performance of their advisers and debt advice service overall to ensure that the quality of debt advice is improved where required, maintained and provided in accordance with regulation, project requirements, best practice, and agreed standards. This includes:

Working in collaboration with suppliers to make tailored recommendations and providing feedback to improve the quality of debt advice and client experience in a delivery supplier as appropriate, and identify good practice, where applicable

Measuring and analysing information gathered against risk ratings, quality frameworks and standards and liaising with delivery suppliers to agree improvement action plans using the results of assessments and analysis

Liaising with delivery suppliers about the practical arrangements required to carry out the monitoring of their work and improvement plans and ensure understanding of the service improvement process

Supporting, where appropriate, the implementation of any follow on/corrective action following the assessment and /or support visits/file reviews.
Support participants internal and external quality assurance, quality related grant requirements and quality improvement schemes by:

Ensuring delivery partners and advisers understand the objectives of the service and quality requirements.

Facilitating the smooth application of the quality improvement process as required by LCALC and/ or the funder including writing guidance documents, regular liaison with the delivery suppliers and answering ad hoc queries.
Project compliance and quality requirements are achieved by:

Ensuring delivery suppliers have a good awareness and understanding of the quality and service delivery requirements through communications and active involvement in the delivery of EMMA events related to quality improvement.

Providing support and advice to delivery suppliers and other internal colleagues on the quality requirements and service delivery standards.

Escalating risks promptly and appropriately.

Providing support with delivery and quality compliance and performance management activities, including active involvement in performance enhancement plans as appropriate.

Contributing to the design of monitoring and reporting processes.

Respond to requests from delivery suppliers for support with quality matters and proactively encourage delivery suppliers to engage with quality improvement activities.

Support the implementation of best practice systems and processes
Implement best practice systems and processes to ensure the development and improvement of delivery and advice services, including:

Providing reports and/or data on trends, compliance, and quality.

Liaising with colleagues to identify key learning points and delivery issues, to inform the development of EMMA.

Identifying training and development needs within delivery suppliers, and work with colleagues and MaPS to improve the quality of advice services.

Facilitate the sharing of learning and good practice identified through quality assurance and service improvement across EMMA delivery partners.

Support delivery partners to maintain systems and processes for service delivery, management and improvement to ensure effective and consistent delivery of the quality of debt advice work.

Support the development and/or updating of content for information systems.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
(1) Expert knowledge of, and proven ability to deliver debt advice, including the diagnosis of relevant issues and remedies.
(2) Up to date knowledge of the key issues of debt advice arising from legislation, regulation, policy, practice and services.
(3) An understanding of compliance monitoring and performance management.
(4) A proven commitment to continuing professional development.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
(5) Proven ability to monitor and evaluate performance through case checking (conducting Independent File Reviews) and providing supervision and support to aid improvement.
(6) Proven ability to identify learning and development needs and contribute to the development of appropriate learning activities for individuals and groups.
