Westway Trust are seeking an experienced and confident Team Administrator to provide efficient and effective administrative support to the Property Department, playing a key role in ensuring the annual cycle of organisational requirements in terms of administration are well planned, on track and delivered by the relevant part of the team. 

You will be a friendly, motivated and pro-active Administrator who will be highly organised to drive a number of competing work packages. You’ll be comfortable in connecting with colleagues, tenants and key partners and stakeholders on the Westway Trust 23 acres estate, with the ability to listen and gather a range of source material and feed these back into the work of the Property Team.

Key responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

• Provide efficient and effective administrative support to the Head of Property and the Property Managers, including the scheduling of team meetings.
• You will ensure time is set aside by the whole team to meet organisational goals, such as performance reviews, work to achieve the organisation’s annual audit, service charge reconciliation, and contractor reviews.
• Schedule in key team tasks within the peaks and troughs of the range of team activities.
• Initial point of contact for enquiries to the Property team.
• Manage routine office duties such as invoice requests and expenses.
• Upkeep and maintenance of databases.
• Schedule Committee Meetings and attend in the capacity of the minute taker. Work with the team to prepare and collate the papers. 
• You may be asked to organise emails, create presentations, and work within the teams filing system.
• You will receive reports from key team members and ensure they are ready to present through the Governance.
• You will co-ordinate and collage high level data collection provided by others for upward reporting.
• You will ensure key project information regarding estate development is circulated to the lettings and leasing side of the Property Team’s operation. 

Essential Experience, Skills and Attributes

• Minimum 5 years’ administration experience working on multiple work streams, in a busy office, with strong organisational and time management skills.
• Experience of designing and delivering high quality, proactive project administration.
• Experience of scheduling and dealing with Committees.
• Proficient IT skills, across Microsoft Office, and willing to learn new systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create presentations and other communications.
• Experience of research.
• Experience of creating useful templates to support projects.
• Experience in prioritising competing demands and workloads.
• Experience of team-working and collaboration with an eye for detail.

Our Commercial Team 

We have a small commercial team with big ambitions for the sector.

Currently, we hold a single commercial contract worth around £3m per year delivered through 12 libraries. Our aim is to reach a point where we have a menu of commercial contracts that all of our 176 member library services can choose to benefit from according to the skills and assets of their service, their focus and strategy and of course the needs of their communities.

In the current funding climate for local authorities and local government services, these contracts are not just about the income and the services they can provide but about demonstrating nationally the power of the library sector, and how national services can be delivered locally through library services and the communities they serve.

Our approach is to identify and secure contracts procured by national government – either directly or with partners to extend the libraries’ capabilities – with an eye to local delivery through the library services. This allows us to centrally hold and manage the risk of the national contract, leaving the library services to deliver themselves.

We see libraries as a solution to many of society’s challenges and this is one route we use to bring the libraries into that solution.  

This area is part of our long term strategy – we are seeking to build the commercial team with this role and while it is initially a 12-month contract, our hope is that with the role in place we can generate the income to sustain and build on it.

The Healthy Ageing Project will address specific challenges within the community, while actively promoting healthy ageing in practical and effective ways across our network.

We will focus on the strengths and expertise of our member groups to promote engagement with Ireland's unique music, dance, sport, language and culture.

We will work together with our members throughout this three-year journey. Together, we will develop, launch and promote a project geared towards improving health and wellbeing, reducing health inequality and providing strategic direction for national health programmes and policy recommendations for the Irish community.

This post is part time (17.5 hours per week) and will be based in the Midlands/ North of England, Birmingham, Liverpool, Leeds, Manchester etc.

First Give inspires young people to make a difference to causes they care about. Programme Delivery Officer role

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic candidate to join our Programmes Team as a Programme Delivery Officer. PDOs will be responsible for supporting and coordinating the delivery of the First Give programme in up to 50 schools, ensuring smooth running of the programme, plus providing guidance and troubleshooting for the lead teachers at First Give partner schools.

The role will be hybrid, with 3 days a week in our main offices in West Hampstead, London. Regular travel to schools across London and the South East will be required.

• Contract: 12-month Maternity Cover
• Salary: £28,840 (inclusive of London weighting)
• Location: London office 3 days per week, 2 days per week working from home

Key responsibilities

• Provide logistic and programme support to teachers delivering the First Give programme at their school, including but not limited to:
  • an introductory Programme Call with the Lead teacher;

  • booking in First Give facilitated sessions
• Ensure all programmes are delivering all core elements of the First Give programme

The role 

Sustrans is the UK’s leading active travel organisation, working to make it possible for people across society to walk, wheel and cycle.  We have a new strategy for the next five years, a key strand of which is to unlock active travel in new housing developments, and we are recruiting a Head of New Developments to lead this work.

This is a new position in which you will draw on your experience in the housing delivery sector to grow Sustrans’ contribution to the creation of new communities that have active mobility at their heart.  As well as leading our influencing work aimed at organisations in housing delivery, you will develop and promote an offer to partners, drawing on Sustrans’ existing infrastructure, behaviour change and advisory services.  You will connect with, inform and inspire professionals and decision makers involved in delivering new homes to adopt the actions required to increase active travel in their developments.  Through collaboration with our Commercial team and subject experts across Sustrans, you will develop a pipeline of funded work from public, private and third sector organisations, ultimately enabling more households to walk, wheel or cycle for their day-to-day journeys.

The role can be based in any Sustrans office and will involve frequent in-person meetings and site visits, particularly (but not exclusively) in the Midlands and South of England. 

About you 

You’ll have significant experience contributing to the delivery of new developments through work for or with organisations such as developers, housing providers, consultancies, local authorities or government.  We’re looking for applicants with a professional network in housing delivery, and significant experience securing new commissions from and/or influencing organisations involved in delivering new developments.  You’ll have a strong understanding of the development process, including the spatial planning system, and of the roles of the parties involved in delivering new developments, the power dynamics between them, and the opportunities and appetite each has for taking action to increase active travel.  Naturally, you’ll have deep knowledge of the challenges, opportunities and hot topics in housing delivery – for new towns, urban extensions and urban intensification schemes.

You’ll have exceptional external-facing leadership skills, and be a strategic, creative thinker, able to solve problems and convert new ideas into practical actions.  Your outstanding communication skills will enable you to engage with stakeholders at a senior level, including on contentious subjects and on high-profile projects.  You’ll have strong business acumen to secure new commissions and deliver effectively for clients, and the skills to influence decision-makers.

You’ll have experience of engaging meaningfully with communities to ensure that new developments respond to the challenges and aspirations of local residents and stakeholders.  And you’ll have good knowledge of how active travel can be embedded into new developments to maximise the number of routine journeys that are walked, wheeled or cycled.

Our partner, a leading international not for profit, seeks an experienced Finance Manager to lead on the financial management of a complex multi-country & multi-grant project. This role will really be suited to someone interested in developing and strengthening systems and processes & providing financial oversight, whilst working with multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide financial management oversight on the project, verifying project-specific transactions and ensuring that financial data is up-to-date; and ensuring adherence to the organisation’s financial policies.
• Lead the project’s annual budgeting and forecasting process, allocating funds across country and global teams & operations.
• Prepare and deliver timely and accurate financial reports for the organisation’s project, including monthly, quarterly, and donor-specific reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Develop and implement financial controls and processes to ensure compliance to donors and organisational policies, including tools such as templates, checklists, and manuals.
• Review budgets, quarterly reports and variance analyses, reforecasts, cash requests and agreements from sub-grantees; and ensure that they understand guidance on compliance and financial reporting.
• Treasury management – monitoring and analysis foreign exchange fluctuations, and their impact on project delivery.
• Responsible for supplier management, including reviewing contracts.

Requirements

• Qualified accountant (and holding an active membership with an accountancy body) with experience in designing, developing and strengthening processes and controls for complex multi-country, multi-grants projects.
• Experience in the financial management and administration of grants, including budgeting, forecasting, undertaking analysis & monitoring, and reporting.
• Experience of donor compliance and reporting, including of institutional donors with complex compliance and reporting requirements.
• Experience of working specifically in the context of sub-grantees and implementing partners on the ground.
• Strong analytical, communication and presentation skills, able to analyse complex financial information to provide the full picture on the project implementation, and to be able to present this alongside other analyses and reports to senior internal and external stakeholders clearly and succinctly.
• A strong command of the English language.
• Able to work effectively under pressure

As our Advice & Supervision Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading and managing the delivery of advice services across both office-based and community outreach settings.

You will supervise, support, and develop a team of employed advisers, volunteers, and supervisors—ensuring our services are of the highest quality and delivered in line with Citizens Advice standards. About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to work with Sustrans as part of the Paths for Everyone Strategy to shape and develop the future vision for the National Cycle Network in the East of England.

As Network Development Manager, you will work closely with councils and partners to identify and manage a range of projects that will fix and grow the National Cycle Network. You will undertake and assist in the management of programmes and projects across the region, determining projects for investment, and liaising with local authorities and other partners to agree design proposals.

Contributing to Paths for Everyone, your day-to-day work will involve dealing with network queries from the public, councils, and interest groups so you will build and manage internal and external relationships.

This role will require travel and work at locations as necessary to undertake projects on behalf of Sustrans.

About you

You should have experience of transport planning or a related subject, effective negotiation skills and experience in working with stakeholders and the public sector.

You will be skilled in advocacy, project management and implementation. You will have the ability to research and produce reports, as well as being able to motivate others within your team.

JOB PURPOSE:
 

• To coordinate support for children aged 2-5 with SEND at Springfield Park Road Nursery, working alongside nursery staff, parents and outside agencies to ensure the nursery provides high quality inclusive EYFS provision in line with the SEND Code of Practice and EYFS Framework.

·        To promote an ethos of inclusive practice within the nursery, high expectations for children with SEND and the best possible outcomes.

• To provide advice and support to Children’s Centre colleagues in relation to SEND.
• To provide advice and support to other staff within the Springfield Project in relation to SEND, including Seedlings Stay and Play. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
 

Lead the SEND provision for the nursery

·        Work with the nursery manager to regularly review the SEND policy and practice within the setting and agree how it will be implemented. 

·        Be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the setting’s SEND policy, and for coordinating provision across the setting.

·        Implement SEN support and the graduated approach of: assess, plan, do, review to meet the outcomes identified for the child, including writing and reviewing SEN support plans as well as statutory paperwork, such as EHC needs assessment requests (with support from Area SENCO).

·        Apply for ISEY funding for individual children and ensure funding is implemented to support children effectively.

Support colleagues 

·        Ensure all practitioners in the setting understand: 

o   their responsibilities to children with SEN

o   how to work actively and effectively within the Assess Plan Do Review cycle.

·        Support individual practitioners in implementing the approach for individual children 

·        Identify and use training and other sources of support available to colleagues. 

·        Support the nursery manager and staff during inspections by regulatory bodies and assist in the implementation of any recommendations.

Partnership working

·        Make sure parents receive the information, advice and support that they need in order to participate in the SEN decision-making process.

·       Involve parents in the discussion of any early concerns, in identifying any SEN, and at all stages of the graduated approach. 

·        Ensure parents are closely involved and that their insights inform action taken by the setting. 

·        Work closely with the Area SENCO and other professionals from education, health and social care agencies as required, making referrals as needed.

·        Understand the Birmingham local offer.

·        Work alongside Springfield Children’s Centre in running a stay & play for children with SEND

·        Provide advice on SEND to Children’s Centre colleagues.

·        Provide advice on SEND to other Project staff and volunteers including Seedlings Stay and Play group and our Child Friendly Neighbourhood team. 

Continually develop own practice

• Reflect on own practice and undertake continuous professional development, including training related to SEND as well as attending relevant and mandatory training courses and maintaining appropriate Safeguarding and First Aid Certificates.
• Alongside the nursery manager, regularly evaluate the effectiveness of provision.

About the role

The Senegal team are looking to recruit a Programme Manager Eye Health to oversee the development, co-ordination and management of Sightsavers programmes in Senegal.  The postholder will ensure alignment with Sightsavers policies and preferred programme approaches (in particular the principles of scalable demonstration approaches) working closely with the Country Director to maintain in- house quality standards on the delivery of programmes.

Key accountabilities but not limited to:

• Lead the development of country level action and implementation plans for eye health as agreed with the Global Technical Lead, Eye Health and Country Director, Senegal.
• Provision of effective management, coordination, technical advice and resource allocation necessary to support eye health in Senegal
• Deliver effective monitoring and support the evaluation of all aspects of the Eye Health programme, applying learning systematically to drive continuous improvement in projects and programmes
• Undertake regular monitoring visits to programme sites and to partners.
• Assist in preparing Budgets for projects and monitor expenditure against these, advising the Country Director on financial trends for example.
• Work with the finance team to ensure proper partner accountability for Sightsavers funds.
• Identify new strategic partnerships within the country to help develop Sightsavers eye health programme.
• Participate in all PR activities of the Country Office and represent Sightsavers at different forums in collaboration with the Country Director.

Essential knowledge and skills

• Degree in Medicine, preferably an Ophthalmologist or Postgraduate Degree in Public Health, Sciences or related disciplines.
• A proven track record within Programme/Project management, ideally in an INGO environment at PM level.
• Significant experience of strategic programme development.
• Technical knowledge on eye health in Senegal.
• Experience of managing an eye care programme in Africa, ideally in an international context.
• Strong advocacy, monitoring evaluation and research and logistics and supply chain management
• Current and ongoing right to work in Senegal
• Able to travel as and when required
