The ideal candidate

We’re looking for an experienced Facilities Manager to be our named competent person for statutory compliance; covering health & safety, fire, water hygiene, electrical safety and environmental standards. You’ll coordinate planned and reactive maintenance - liaising with external contractors, keep accurate compliance records, and produce clear, risk-based reports for senior management. You’ll work with a high degree of autonomy, escalating issues and key strategic budget decisions as required.

What you’ll do

• Own compliance and risk management, maintaining live risk assessments and closing remedial actions within required timescales.
• Schedule and evidence statutory checks and liaise with approved contractors and maintain accurate records.
• Track maintenance spend and provide monthly variance reporting; support value-for-money supplier arrangements.
• Lead facilities projects as required - typically small to medium in scale.
• Drive sustainability improvements across energy, water and waste.
• Act as first responder to facilities incidents during working hours.

Duties will include but not be limited to:

• Deliver the community fundraising programme and continually monitor results, with particular focus on net income, Rotary engagement, supporter growth and the development of our volunteer network. Adjust and adapt plans accordingly.
• To set income and expenditure budgets for all community and events activity, monitoring industry and supporter trends, progress against budgets and reforecast income and expenditure as required.
• Set measurable KPIs for the Community and Events Team and objectively review the success and achievements against targets. Identify areas of risk and opportunity. Ensure contingencies are in place as appropriate.
• Strategically grow community income by identifying priority audiences and developing products/campaigns/communications to maximise the value of our existing supporters and to reach new ones. Ensure we remain relevant and future focused. To include the optimisation and mainstreaming of digital engagement.
• Continue to develop and test events, with the aim of growing our events portfolio, working closely with the Community Marketing and Events Officer.
• Embed evidence-based decision-making within the team, using insight and data to inform ways of working, and improving our use and adoptions of systems.
• Support team with stewarding high value community stakeholders, including the strategically important relationship with RGBI. Role model and support great relationship fundraising - leading by example to inspire high standards in the team.
• Lead the development of strategic plans to maximise our partnership with RGBI (including income, awareness and networking opportunities). Manage and support the Rotary Marketing and Engagement Officers to drive activity and performance. Work closely with the Rotary Partnership Manager to ensure plans and communications are aligned.
• Support Community Engagement Officer with the development and growth of our community volunteer network.
• Work with the Rotary Marketing Officer and Community Marketing and Events Officer to oversee the development of mass participation campaigns to engage target audiences (warm and cold) and grow income.
• Develop, deliver and evaluate major disaster plans for community audiences.
• Work across the team to review and develop 'donor journeys' in collaboration with the wider fundraising and Supporter Care team, ensuring an excellent supporter experience.

About You

You are a highly organised and detail-oriented individual with proven administrative experience in a fast-paced environment. · Assist in the coordination and delivery of public fundraising activities during emergency appeals, including managing content and materials, liaising with member agencies, and supporting with reporting and updates for senior stakeholders.

· Provide high-quality administrative support to the Fundraising and Marketing Director and wider team, including diary management, meeting coordination, minute-taking, and general team logistics.

· Help develop and deliver fundraising materials across direct marketing and digital channels, gather content, and ensure assets are approved and shared with key stakeholders.

· Maintain and update fundraising budgets, process invoices, and support post-appeal reviews with external suppliers and partners.

· Contribute to digital activities by supporting basic analytics, user journey testing, and content creation for platforms like YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok, with opportunities to take part in digital innovation workshops.

You'll provide hands-on support to volunteers delivering services for girls and young women across England and Wales, coordinate onboarding and training, maintain volunteer records, and ensure volunteers feel supported, connected and equipped to deliver impactful work.

Join Sutton Nightwatch and help us raise vital funds to support and raise awareness for the homeless people within the London Borough of Sutton and surrounding areas. You’ll lead on strategy, grow donor relationships, and deliver ambitious fundraising targets that directly transform lives.

Sutton Night Watch is a registered charity which was set up to support and raise awareness for the homeless people within the London Borough of Sutton and surrounding areas.

Over the past 10 years, with the support of local business, the local community and fundraising efforts, we have been able to grow and expand into our own, permanent base in December 2019.  From here we are able to not only provide the essentials such as food, showers and clothing supplies, but we are able to also offer our service users a range of health services, benefit advice, wellbeing and educational based courses, clothes, washing facilities and most importantly, a place where people are seen, heard and understood. We also support people to find secure accommodation. In the past 3 months we have found homes for 13 people.

Job Purpose:

The Fundraising Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing fundraising strategies to secure financial support for the organization.

Our annual fundraising target is set at c250k (cash income) plus additional targets for in-kind donations, preloved donations and donated services. These support the growth and sustainability of our operations, ensuring we can continue to provide essential items and services to local people experiencing homelessness.

This role involves managing donor relationships, coordinating fundraising campaigns, organizing events, and ensuring income targets are met to sustain and grow the charity’s mission.

Key Responsibilities:

Fundraising Strategy & Planning

• Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy across individual giving, corporate partnerships, grants, trusts, community fundraising, and events.
• Set annual income targets and monitor performance against goals.
• Identify new opportunities for sustainable income generation.

Donor & Stakeholder Management

• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with donors, corporate partners, and sponsors.
• Ensure regular communication, reporting, and stewardship to encourage long-term support.
• Work closely with trustees, senior management, and volunteers to maximize fundraising potential

Campaigns & Events

• Plan, deliver, and evaluate fundraising campaigns and events (in-person and digital).
• Oversee community and challenge events, ensuring participant engagement and fundraising success.
• Leverage digital channels and social media to promote fundraising initiatives.

· Grant & Bid Writing

• Research and apply for funding opportunities from trusts, foundations, and grant-making bodies.
• Prepare compelling proposals and reports to secure and retain funding.

· Financial Management & Reporting

•  Oversee fundraising budgets, track expenditure, and ensure cost-effective delivery of campaigns.
• Produce accurate and timely reports for senior management and trustees.
• Ensure compliance with fundraising regulations and ethical standards.

Skills & Qualifications

• Proven experience in fundraising,  within the nonprofit sector.
• Strong track record of meeting or exceeding income targets.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
•  Knowledge of fundraising regulations, GDPR, and donor stewardship best practices.
• Strong project management and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Platform’s North Sea Workers’ Transition project is building towards a managed phase-out of oil and gas extraction in the UK North Sea. We’re organising for an energy industry that protects the rights and livelihoods of the current oil and gas workforce and directs wealth back to communities, especially those impacted by industrial change.

We have been working with offshore oil and gas workers and their unions for 5+ years. In 2023, we published a groundbreaking set of 10 demands for a just energy transition away from fossil fuels co-created with offshore workers: Our Power: offshore workers’ demands for a just energy transition. Since publishing the report we have launched public advocacy and media campaigns based on these demands - working alongside industrial trade unions, national and grassroots climate groups, and oil and gas workers. We coordinate a first-of-its-kind coalition of industrial unions and climate groups working together on national worker transition demands.

As living conditions continue to decline and the climate crisis deepens, we are looking for a motivated and creative campaigner, who is able to lead the next stage of the project, and who has a strong understanding of anti-oppression and energy justice.

About the role

The Worker Transition Campaigns Manager will work closely with our Worker Organiser and Public and Community Ownership Campaigner, supported by our Organising and Advocacy Lead, Research Lead and Communications Lead.

You will be responsible for strategising, project managing and delivering the project. Activities will look like:

• Coordinating an existing coalition of climate groups and trade unions, including holding relationships with a wide range of key stakeholders across movements;
• Developing and delivering political advocacy and public campaigns strategies to win Our Power demands - including public ownership of energy - at a UK and Scottish Government level;
• Supporting the work of Platform’s Worker Organiser(s) to build links with energy workers and involve them in media, political meetings and/or campaigning activities.

This post would sit within Platform’s internal collective management structure and would therefore be expected to support the collective management of the organisation in addition to finance and fundraising-related responsibilities. This includes line managing 1-2 staff members after the 6 month probation period and attending collective management meetings. 

Role Details

Hours: 4 days (32 hours) based on a 40 hour work week (5 x 8 hour days including a 1hr lunch break).

Contract: Permanent

Proposed start date: ASAP, depending on notice period.

Salary: £36,824.41 for 4 days (32 hours) per week (£46,030.51 FTE) is our baseline salary, adjustable according to our Socially Just Waging System. Terms and conditions apply.

Location: The role will be formally based at Oxford House, Derbyshire Street, London, E2 6HG, but remote working is possible.

Most Platform staff are supported to work from home most of the time, but all permanent members of staff are expected to attend in-person meetings 3-4 times a year, usually at the London office, and other in-person meetings when required.
