As one of our Grants & Services Officer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that grant applications are processed efficiently and applicants are dealt with holistically, compassionately and professionally.
As we help record numbers of people, the successfully appointed Grants & Services Officer will be required to:
Deal with applicant enquiries
- Ensure a pleasant, helpful and empathetic welcome to applicants who contact the Charity by email, web form, written application or telephone.
- Provide guidance to applicants in relation to the Charity’s grants criteria, services and process, ensuring they understand how to apply and that their request fits within our criteria.

Process applications and referrals to services in a timely manner

- Prioritise any applications with particularly urgent requests

Provide guidance and information to applicants

Recommend appropriate grant decisions

Responsibilities and Person Specification:
This role is an exciting opportunity to play a key role providing expert analysis and conducting research on the high essential costs facing older people in financial hardship and advocating for policy change in this area. As part of the Policy and Influencing directorate, you will contribute to strategic thinking, lead research and policy development projects using a range of methods and work across the directorate to build relationships and secure change.
You should have experience of driving forward a policy theme, including identifying policy problems, developing credible and evidence based solutions and working towards securing change. Strong research and analysis skills are essential, with excellent communication and project management skills. We are looking for experience of working independently as well as collaborating effectively across a high performing influencing function. Programme Delivery Officer role
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic candidate to join our Programmes Team as a Programme Delivery Officer. PDOs are responsible for supporting and coordinating the delivery of First Give in up to 50 schools, ensuring smooth running of the programme, providing guidance and troubleshooting for the Lead Teachers.
The role is home-based, in Yorkshire, with regular travel to schools across the county and occasional forays to schools in the North-West. Several times a year travel will be required to London, where our office is based.

About the role
We’re looking for someone who has experience in marketing, communications and engagement for events, gala lunches, fundraising products and campaigns. We want you to bring creativity, insight and energy to help drive the income of the Charity from your marketing and engagement perspective. This could look like selling tickets for events, running campaigns or increasing sign ups to Legacy.
You’ll oversee and be responsible for executing the marketing plans to support events, partnerships, music services, education and our annual campaigns, where you will get support from, and line manage a Marketing and Communications Officer and an Events Marketing Officer.
This role sits within our Engagements and Communications (E&C) team, which is under our wider Income Generation directorate, (other teams include partnerships, events, trust and foundations and business development) which has ambitious fundraising targets as part of a new 5-year strategy.

The role
The children and young people’s bereavement programme in Wales is looking to increase and improve its current services. We are looking for people to take this team forward over the next few years. About the role
We are excited to be recruiting a Communities Manager to join our Communities team. You’ll work with our team to deliver the goals set out in Join the Club, our ambitious strategy for 2021-2026, and to develop and deliver our exciting new strategy in the coming years.

What the job involves
We’re looking for a Healthcare Improvement Officer to join our Improvement Programmes Team and help us deliver exciting initiatives that support healthcare professionals to improve prostate cancer services across the UK. Examples of projects supported include work around establishing better Active Surveillance so that more men can avoid unnecessary radical treatment; work to restructure and make faster the diagnostic pathway; work to coordinate with primary care and support earlier diagnosis; new surgical procedures that spare men the burden of incontinence. As Healthcare Improvement Officer, you’ll play a central role in making sure our programmes run smoothly and have maximum impact. You’ll oversee on the logistics and delivery of events across the UK and online, from our Clinical Champions Programme and Clinical Advisory Group meetings to our annual healthcare professional conference. You’ll also oversee recruitment for programmes, manage databases and monitoring systems, and handle financial processes such as invoices and purchase orders, ensuring everything is delivered on time and to a high standard.
Your work will range from planning and scheduling programmes, to procuring resources, preparing materials and helping to facilitate sessions so that participants are fully supported in their learning. You’ll also contribute to quality improvement project development and coordination, working with teams across Prostate Cancer UK to share good practice and expand the reach of our initiatives.
Engagement will be a key part of your role, from maintaining webpages and digital channels to supporting our alumni network through newsletters, communications and opportunities for continued involvement. You’ll help manage our online Clinical Champions learning hub and, with training provided, will also have the chance to coach and mentor clinicians using Insights Discovery (a psychometric tool helping people understand their own and others' behavioural preferences and communication styles).
What we want from you
We’re looking for someone who’s highly organised, comfortable working with people and able to keep several projects moving at once. Strong communication skills are essential, both written and verbal, with the ability to adapt your style to suit different audiences, from clinicians to colleagues across the organisation.
You’ll bring experience in event planning and support, along with project coordination, and you’ll be comfortable managing webpages and creating online content. The role involves building and maintaining strong relationships with a range of stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, colleagues and senior leaders, so collaboration will be second nature to you.
An understanding of the healthcare and/or charity sectors will be valuable, as will experience in presenting and facilitating discussions. You’ll also need excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively when things get busy.

Shout Out UK (SOUK) is a UK-based award-winning political and media literacy organisation with nearly a decade of experience in delivering impactful educational campaigns. The Position:
You will be joining our small, passionate NGO to manage our programme implementation and delivery. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be tasked with managing the distribution and delivery of our programmes. This will involve ensuring KPIs are met within budget and on time, larger projects may be handled by you directly at times. Programmes can vary from delivery of media literacy workshops in schools, counter extremism training in PRUs to city-wide democratic engagement campaigns.
