The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a capable, collaborative and motivated solicitor to join our exceptional casework team on a 12-month fixed term contract to cover parental leave. You’ll be working at the cutting edge of public law in the UK, supporting our award-winning team of solicitors in work that brings about real change.

Join PLP and you’ll be playing a key role in the team that brought the main challenge to the Safety of Rwanda Act, intervened in the challenge to the prorogation of Parliament, helped survivors whose assets are controlled by their abuser to access legal aid, and put a stop to the no-notice removal policy affecting people claiming asylum.

You’ll be supervised by our Legal Director and have the opportunity to collaborate closely with the whole team. The PLP team is friendly, diverse, and inclusive, and you’ll be supported and encouraged to develop your skills as a solicitor.

Your caseload will be a range of strategic public law cases which align with our strategy.

We are a youth movement that empowers people with refugee backgrounds to build community, become leaders, and flourish into adulthood in the place that they call home.

We are looking for a highly engaging Leadership & Volunteering Manager to lead and grow our leadership training programming, and to lead on the recruitment, development and retention of our pool of volunteers. You will work across our various hubs to ensure all volunteers are well-supported, feel valued, and are making meaningful contributions to OSH’s mission.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership Training & Development

• Oversee and continue to codify OSH’s LIT (Leaders in Training) course, including in-person and online sessions, and mentoring LITs on their first residential. This will include hands-on delivery, managing logistics, and working with volunteers and facilitators.

• Co-design and develop other leadership programmes for young people.

• Support young people from refugee backgrounds to move from participants to leaders within OSH.

• Lead the delivery of training and induction for new and returning volunteers in hubs, at pre camp training days and leaders retreats. This includes safeguarding, group dynamics, facilitating groups, and OSH values, but will also include identifying gaps and trends in skills and experiences.

• Help shape the pedagogy and outcomes of OSH’s leadership programmes.

Volunteer Strategy & Recruitment

• Ensure there is an active pipeline of people signing up for the LIT course

• Design and implement a volunteer recruitment strategy to attract a diverse range of volunteers from within OSH and externally.

• Build partnerships with universities, youth networks, and professional communities to widen reach.

• Develop inclusive recruitment materials and accessible application processes.

Volunteer Engagement

• Develop progression pathways for volunteers.

• Ensure an active culture of feedback and reflection within leadership and volunteering.

• Track volunteer impact and progression.

• Coordinate check-ins, socials, and wellbeing support for volunteers.

• Work closely with the whole team to ensure volunteer experiences are safe, rewarding, and well-held.

Operations & Evaluation

• Maintain volunteer records and communications using Beacon (OSH’s CRM).

• Monitor data on volunteer recruitment, attendance, retention, progression, and impact.

• Contribute to fundraising work, for example by ensuring there is a regular supply of case studies for OSH programmes.

• Collaborate with colleagues to share impact and improve practice.

Other duties

• Getting involved in OSH events in the evenings and at weekends, including residentials. These are overnight trips from 2 to 5 nights

IDEAL EXPERIENCE

• Excellent facilitation, training, and communication skills.

• Strong experience managing volunteer programmes and/or leadership development.

• Experience designing leadership training or curriculum.

• Understanding of and training in safeguarding in youth settings.

• A deep understanding of inclusive, trauma-informed, and youth-centered approaches.

• Experience supporting young people from marginalised backgrounds, ideally those with lived experience of the asylum system.

• Experience volunteering or working in residential programming.

• Ability to build relationships across diverse groups and inspire trust and commitment.

• Organised and systems-minded, with good project management skills.

• Confident using digital tools (e.g. Google Workspace, CRMs)

• Passion for OSH’s mission and commitment to centering people with refugee backgrounds.

• Ability to speak in other languages relevant to our community, including Arabic, Pashto, Farsi, Tigrinya, Amharic, and Oromo.

We are recruiting a Peer Involvement Worker to join the Involvement Team and become part of a vibrant and ambitious Lived Experience Workforce.  It is essential that applicants have personal lived experience of mental and emotional distress, and personal experience of accessing secondary care mental health services, or experience of caring for, or supporting someone who has. Please note that experience of working in mental health related services alone will not meet this criterion.

The Peer Involvement Worker will work primarily within the coproduction and involvement workstream, supporting the Trust to develop meaningful and impactful coproduction and involvement opportunities for people with lived experience of Trust services, their carers, family, and friends.

2. Main duties of the role:

You will use your lived experience, peer support values and principles to support people with lived experience of Trust services to join the Lived Experience Network. You will use this knowledge to support members to become involved in activities that align with their lived experience, and to assist the Involvement Administrative Coordinator in reviewing expressions of interests and selecting members for opportunities.

1. To work alongside the Involvement Project Lead, the Involvement Administrative Coordinator, two Peer Involvement Coordinators, and the wider Involvement Team.

2. Use peer support values and principles within the context of supporting people to take part in involvement and coproduction activities.

3. Support people with lived experience of trust services through the registration process to enable them to join the Lived Experience Network.

The Opportunity

This role at WFN provides an exciting opportunity to lead on the development of our growing Winner Network Development (WND) programme, identified as one of the charity’s key areas for strategic growth and maximised impact over the coming years. About the role

We’re looking for a passionate and driven Service Manager to lead our team at Birkenhead Street, a 31-bed hostel in Camden offering 24-hour supported accommodation to single adults. This is a unique opportunity to shape a service that puts people first, working in a trauma-informed and person-centred way.

What You’ll Be Doing

As Service Manager, you’ll be at the heart of the service, responsible for both strategic development and day-to-day operations. You’ll lead, motivate and support a dedicated team including a Deputy Manager, Project Workers, Duty and Night Staff, Cleaners, and locums. In addition to:

• Manage the service rota and ensure smooth operational delivery.
• Build strong partnerships with external agencies to enhance outcomes for residents.
• Champion inclusive support, including working closely with the Women’s Safe Space to address the specific needs of female residents.
• Ensure the service meets contractual obligations and reflects best practice.

The Senior Communications Manager is responsible for developing and delivering the Society’s communications strategy to enhance its visibility, influence, and engagement with key audiences. Key Responsibilities

Strategic Communications

• Develop and implement an annual communications plan to support the Society’s strategic objectives, including member communication and marketing of the Society’s activities events and programmes.
• Work with the CEO, senior staff and officers to shape key messages and deliver campaigns that enhance the Society’s visibility and reputation.

Digital and Print Content

• Manage the Society’s website, ensuring it is current, accessible, user-friendly, and engaging.
• Oversee the production and distribution of newsletters, bulletins, blogs, and reports.
• Write, edit, and commission content for various audiences, including members, academics, policymakers, students, and the general public.

Social Media and Brand Management

Media and Public Relations

• Monitor performance against income and other targets and report regularly to the Chief Executive and Board.

Person Specification

Essential Skills

1. Significant experience in a communications role, ideally within a professional body, academic institution, or non-profit organisation.
2. Excellent written and editorial skills, with the ability to produce compelling, accurate, and audience-appropriate content across different formats and channels.
3. Strong skills in managing digital platforms, including websites (e.g. WordPress), email marketing tools (e.g. Mailchimp), and social media (e.g. LinkedIn, X/Twitter, YouTube).
4. Proven ability to develop and implement communication plans, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
5. Experience in applying and maintaining brand identity across a wide range of communications outputs.

Service delivery

• Lead the day-to-day management of Ella’s safe houses, and outreach services

• Ensure all caseworkers provide high-quality, holistic support tailored to each woman’s needs

• Ensure casework systems are used consistently and effectively across the team

• Oversee accurate and timely completion of risk assessments, support plans, and case notes

• Provide emotional support and hands-on casework guidance where needed

• Coordinate referrals and ensure women are welcomed into the service with care and dignity

• Lead regular reviews of support plans to ensure women are progressing through recovery stages

Team management

• Provide line management, supervision, and ongoing support to accommodation and outreach caseworkers.

• Support wellbeing of all frontline staff in partnership with Ella’s HR Officer.

• Monitor and review demanding caseloads to support effective casework and prevent burnout.

Service development and partnerships

• Identify gaps and opportunities for improvement in service delivery.

Citizens Advice Hammersmith and Fulham (CAHF) is a busy, dynamic award winning Service. We deliver a variety of projects via face to face and digital media.  

Since 2012 we have delivered a volunteer led community library service at Avonmore library.  In April 2024 we embarked on running a second community focused library at Askew Road. To support CAHF community library delivery at both libraries, we introduced the role of Community Library Coordinator.  

Purpose of the Role:

In addition to traditional library duties—such as managing stock inventory and delivering storytime sessions for under-5s—the Community Library Coordinator plays a key role in positioning the library as a vibrant hub within the local area. The library offers a diverse programme of activities for users of all ages throughout the week. Working collaboratively with colleagues, the Coordinator will oversee and help develop engaging library events, while also supporting the dedicated volunteers who contribute to the successful delivery of our community-focused services.

About You:

You will have strong interpersonal and communication skills, along with enthusiasm for working in the library sector. You should be confident in promoting the library service and delivering excellent customer service to a diverse range of users. While previous library experience is desirable, it is not essential.
