About the role

You’ll be working on direct marketing campaigns that engage and inspire people to donate. And make it as easy as possible for them to choose the way they give. As part of the team, you’ll be innovative in a changing fundraising and external environment, to achieve ambitious annual income targets.

You’ll assist with and, when required, project manage direct marketing activities through campaign, project, and agency and supplier management in order to retain existing donors and acquire new ones. To ensure everyone feels good about their donation.

This role will primarily have a focus on cash appeals and raffles at Parkinson’s UK. 

What you’ll do

• Assist with and, when required, project manage direct marketing campaigns, both online and offline, maximising income through acquisition and stewardship communications to secure one-off and regular gifts. 

• Manage relationships with creative, print and response handling agencies working on campaigns.

• Support the Senior Individual Giving Officers in achieving strategic objectives, monitoring income and expenditure and using database analysis to inform and improve the individual giving programme.

• Integrate the direct marketing programme into Fundraising and Experience Directorate activities and support the overall Parkinson’s UK strategic plan.

What you’ll bring

• Proven experience of successfully scheduling and managing campaigns to deliver results against agreed objectives and targets.

• Excellent copywriting, creative and proofreading skills for both online and offline materials.

• Experience of operating in a modern digital workplace, including using digital tools, platforms and techniques to work collaboratively and productively. 

• Ability to review and evaluate data and campaign results and pull out key trends to inform future work.

Our Personal Safety Project (PSP) is a free service which aims to help older people who have fallen or are at risk of falling at home. The service is available to anyone aged 50 and over who lives in the borough of Croydon.

Our trained assessors carry out a comprehensive risk assessment to identify potential causes of falls and hazards in the home and can arrange for stair rails, grab handles and other necessary aids to be supplied and/or fitted, free of charge. The project can provide ongoing telephone support for up to six weeks to monitor the risk of further falls post engagement.

The RSPCA Buckinghamshire South Branch

The RSPCA Buckinghamshire South Branch is one of the branches of RSPCA, but we are also a separately registered charity looking after animals in our local area. Much of the animal welfare work of RSPCA is carried out through local branches, which is run by volunteers who have the support of the National Society of RSPCA.

The main activity of our branch is specialised in the rehoming of small animals including cats, rabbits, birds, guinea pigs and hamsters. The animals come into our care from various sources such as those which are rescued, abandoned, neglected or given up by their owners. Each animal is medically and characteristically assessed to ensure it is fit and well before being available for rehoming. This all costs money, and could not be achieved without your support. 

Job Summary

This role is responsible for the development, implementation and operation of appropriate financial and business management tools to support the day-to-day business and financial administration of the Branch.

Reporting to and working closely with the Chief Executive Office (CEO), you will be expected to make use of the full capability of the Branch’s existing software systems (Google Workspace, and Quick Books) to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery and develop management information to aid the Trustees & CEO in decision making.

You will be responsible for all financial management across the charity. This includes bookkeeping; financial statements; financial planning; financial policies, processes and controls and budgeting. 

You must ensure that all activities are carried out in compliance with current legislation, Branch and Society policy, relevant Health & Safety regulations and any associated statutory or legislative requirements.

Note: Branch targets and budgets are agreed on an annual basis and these will inform the personal targets agreed at the annual performance review. Progress towards personal targets will be reviewed at regular one-to-one meetings with your line manager.

This role is home based, with occasional travel across South Bucks.

Principal Accountabilities

Financial Management & Operations

• Support the CEO as a key strategic and operational partner, acting as second-in-command and deputising in their absence where appropriate.

• Maintain all financial records and accounting systems (the Branch currently uses Quick Books accounting software), registers and statistics as required by the CEO & Branch Trustees.

• Work with the CEO and Branch Trustees to develop financial plans and an annual financial budget.

• Maintain close oversight of the branch’s budget in collaboration with the CEO, proactively identifying and addressing any discrepancies, overspend, or unplanned financial activity to ensure effective financial control and informed decision-making.

• Process, monitor, record and manage all receipts & payments to/from the Branch in accordance with the agreed procedures and in liaison with the appropriate staff and volunteers including weekly banking, cash handling, invoice creation and processing, Branch payments (including those made via credit cards and petty cash) and account reconciliation.

• Monitor, review and reconcile monthly receipts & payments on the Quick Books accounting system.

• Produce monthly management accounts which include bank reconciliations, balance sheets, Branch/departmental profit & loss statements, departmental comparisons and performance against budget and such other financial reports/management information as may be required including monthly reporting to the board of trustees.

• Coordinate bank accounts across the charity, including set-up and balance management.

• Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns.

• Prepare annual financial statements and coordination of annual audit review.

• Support the staff and volunteers with day-to-day financial operations and ensuring departmental financial records are maintained and that monies received or expended are accounted for correctly.

• Work with the RSPCA Society National team regarding legacies, submission of care contribution funds, renewals of insurances etc.

• Ensure that strict protocols are followed for cash handling and that unbanked cash remains within the insured limit for cash held at each premises.

• Liaise with the Branch’s payroll provider to ensure staff hours are submitted and salary payments processed on a monthly basis and within the appropriate timescale.

• Process all staff and volunteer expenses in a timely manner.

• Manage all bookkeeping processes and functions, including the asset register, ensuring annual accounts are produced no later than the end of March each year.

• Develop, implement and maintain appropriate financial administrative procedures and processes.

Business Administration

• Responsible for day-to-day financial administrative support for the CEO and Trustees.

• Ensure that all administrative paperwork, including external correspondence is processed in accordance with Branch and Society procedures, including completion of all appropriate records for insurance and risk management purposes.

• Ensure financial data processing, retention and destruction conforms to the relevant policies such as GDPR.

• Ensure regulatory and legislative compliance of financial charity policies.

• Work closely with relevant operational staff to ensure appropriate responses are issued to all enquiries whether from members, supporters & volunteers, RSPCA colleagues or the general public.

• Liaise with staff and volunteers to facilitate the ordering of materials, supplies and equipment for the effective operation of the Branch, ensuring budgetary controls are maintained at all times.

• Work with the CEO and other staff to manage relevant licences, vendor relationships, service agreements and invoicing.

• Work with staff and volunteers across the whole charity on financial processes and controls.

Fundraising & Donations

• Identify, assess, and apply for appropriate grants and funding streams to maximise income for the branch, ensuring applications are timely, well-prepared, and aligned with funder criteria to support the branch’s strategic and operational objectives.

• Ensure that all donations (financial or otherwise) are acknowledged in a timely manner, receipts are issued for financial donations and the banking of all funds raised.

• Responsible for the accurate recording and banking of the funds raised.

• Develop, and manage relationships across relevant stakeholder groups, both within and outside the charity.

Gift Aid

• Ownership of the Gift Aid process.

General

• Attend meetings and training courses as required.

• Undertake such other duties as directed from time-to-time by your line manager.

Essential skills, qualifications and experience:

• A finance qualification or working towards level 3 AAT or ACCA with proven experience in charity financial operations.

• Good general level of education.

• Strong experience in financial reporting, budgeting and compliance.

• Demonstrable experience of managing small to medium size budgets (circa £400,000) & accounting systems (ideally with experience of Quick Books software).

• Proven experience of cash handling and financial management procedures. 

• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

• Proven ability to work to tight deadlines, be proactive and work autonomously.

• Proven IT literacy including use of business software and accounting packages (including Quickbooks), and Google Workspace.

• Strong numeracy and analytical skills.

• Experience supporting audits and implementing robust financial controls.

• Knowledge of Charity and Company Law.

• Proven ability to work under direction from superiors but equally able to use their own initiative.

About the role

We’re looking for an experienced Marketing Manager to lead a team of two to deliver exceptional and effective brand and marketing activity.

You’ll be responsible for the development and delivery of brand and marketing campaigns for key programmes, projects and products, aligned to our organisational priorities.

Healthwatch City of London are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced communications and engagement officer to ensure that the patient and service users voice is at the heart of Health and Social Care decision making.  The successful candidate will drive engagement with the local community, creating visibility of our work to residents and partners. Healthwatch City of London are the independent champion for people who use health and social care services. Elms is a vibrant service based in Leyton (Waltham Forest) that brings together supported housing, a daytime activity programme, and a small floating support service. The supported housing element provides longer-term placements for adults with a diagnosis of paranoid schizophrenia, some of whom may also be managing physical health needs. The Data Architecture Manager will lead the Data Engineering Team and is responsible for the development and management of Shelter’s data ecosystem including the design & development of Shelters data architecture model.

The Data Architecture Manager will be responsible for developing a robust approach to providing single supporter, client and employee views, GDPR compliant consent management and seamless data flows between systems. 

Role specifics

As Data Architecture Manager at Shelter, you’ll lead the design and ongoing improvement of our data management strategy and automation roadmap. You’ll oversee complex technical data projects and manage a team of Data Engineers and Architects, supporting their growth and performance. Working closely with analysts and data scientists, you’ll ensure the development of high-quality datasets to support reporting and modelling, including Power BI outputs. You'll be responsible for enhancing our data warehouse, refining ETL processes, and ensuring 24/7 monitoring of data integrations. The role also involves managing supplier relationships, overseeing our data application portfolio, and collaborating across teams to ensure robust data quality, governance, and system efficiency.

About the role

The post-holder will provide independent advocacy in various settings, including in the community, people’s homes, and hospital settings including mental health wards. You’ll raise awareness of advocacy, including for people from minority ethnic communities. You’ll work as part of a team of independent advocates, reporting to the Advocacy Service Manager. 

You will work as part of the Ealing advocacy team. You may also need to carry out your role in other London boroughs.

Under the Health and Social Care Act 2008, the post holder will be required to visit CQC registered care homes and would be subject to government requirements.

Key responsibilities

î  Provide advocacy for eligible people under Mental Health Act 2007, the Health and Social Care Act 2012, Mental Capacity Act 2005 and under the Care Act 2014.

î  Provide a one-to-one advocacy service for people and undertake case work, evidencing and uploading case notes and data in a timely manner.

î  Provide instructed and non-instructed advocacy, where appropriate.

î  Provide information, support or signpost clients in order to inform or empower individuals on any issues about their treatment under the relevant legislation.

î  Act as duty advocate for our Single Point of Access referral line on a rota basis.

î  Meet case-working standards, monitoring system requirements and the goals for our service, making sure everyone needing advocacy is referred into the service in the right way.

î  Work within the location-specific engagement protocols, security, confidentiality and safeguarding policies (in addition to the Advocacy Best Practice Handbook).

î  Actively promote self-advocacy throughout all work with patients, where practical.

î  Raise awareness of independent advocacy and referring pathways to eligible people and referring agencies.

î  Keep your knowledge of legislation and policy up-to-date, including the mental health act, mental capacity act, care act, and local / national policy.

î  Keep up to date with developments and good practice in independent advocacy (including different advocacy models).

î  Develop good working relationships with key staff within health and social care services.

î  Be an active member of the advocacy service, contributing to service planning and providing cover for other colleagues when needed.

Based in Surrey, the Orpheus Centre is an independent specialist college and charity that focuses on developing independence skills through performing and visual arts and makes dramatic improvements to young disabled adults’ lives.  We are currently looking for a driven and pro-active Events Fundraiser to develop, coordinate and deliver the charity’s fundraising events and orchestrate experiences from initial concept to post event analysis. This includes pre-event planning and development, concept development and proposal.

Working closely with the Head of Capital Appeal and Senior Philanthropy and Partnerships Manager, you will design and deliver events which steward and develop key contacts as part of our Capital Appeal.

The role holder will have strong administration skills, attention to detail and work as part of a team.  You will be self-motivated and able to work with little supervision, managing a wide range of tasks.

35 hours per week / 52 weeks per year

Salary: £28,000 - 32,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People – Partnership Account Manager (Payroll Giving)

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, whose mission is to see a time when no deaf person feels alone, is seeking a proactive and relationships-driven Partnerships Account Manager for managing and growing a portfolio of corporate partners.

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People has been creating life-changing partnerships between hearing dogs and deaf recipients since 1982. As well as acting as an ear to their partners and alerting them to sounds, the charity’s clever and expertly trained dogs help deaf people to live life with confidence and independence, whilst providing love, companionship and emotional support.

Following on from a strategic review, the charity is now looking to build a new Income Generation Directorate, to enable them to transform many more lives across the UK. This role will be critical to help Hearing Dogs reach their goals to diversify income, expand their portfolio and accelerate income from mission-aligned businesses.

Reporting to the Head of Corporate Partnerships, this role will take a lead on nurturing existing partnerships and developing new ones, with a specific focus on increasing income through employee engagement and payroll giving schemes. It will also ensure that each partnership is maximised and aligned with Hearing Dogs’ mission and fundraising goals.

The post-holder will work closely with internal teams and corporate supporters to deliver engaging campaigns, employee fundraising, volunteering opportunities and impactful communications that help raise income and awareness for the charity.

It is a role that will require excellent stewardship, creativity and commercial awareness skills for mutual value – that means you will need strong relationship management and excellent communication skills. A background in corporate fundraising will be essential, alongside the ability to identify and maximise the potential of corporate support opportunities, including financial and in-kind support. You will also have experience of managing charity-of-the-year partnerships or working with employee fundraising programmes.
